I just had them replace a receiver in my 2007 Saab 9-4. Saab is out of business, and it s very hard to get parts for any Saab. I researched adding bluetooth to my receiver, trying to figure out different options, from adding a module to my existing receiver to replacing the receiver entirely with something new. All my research told me I was out-of-luck.
Then, I went to Mesa Radio, and the owner researched the issue for me. It took him a couple of days, but said he figured out how to replace the receiver, provide additional features I was looking for, and not lose the functionality of the steering-wheel controls.
His prices were very reasonable, and included the installation. It took them about a week to get all the parts, and then about 1/2 day to do the installation.
When I picked up my car, the service was very professional. The owner spent almost 40-minutes walking me through the system. He mounted an iPhone cable exactly where I wanted it (middle of the center console). Mounted the bluetooth mic just where I wanted it (top of the visor dashboard). No wires visible.
This is the second time I've used these folks. The first time was approximately 10 years ago, replacing all the speakers in one of my older cars. They did a wonderful job then too.
They also have a lot of integrity. In my Saab, I was worried that me new receiver wouldn t sound that great with the older, OEM speakers. I was prepared to spend another $1,000 replacing the amp and getting better speakers. The owner literally said, "Your speakers sound great. You don't need to replace them."
I highly recommend Mesa Radio. Don t go there expecting a huge inventory, like you might expect at Best Buy. This is a small outfit. What they don t have, they can order quickly. You owe it to visit these guys, if you re thinking of anything electronic for your vehicle. read more
