caprese grilled cheese and tomato soup, with a minty chocolate tea latte.

my partner and i stopped in here for the first time because our usual place was unexpectedly closed. thank god it was! metallion cafe immediately has become my new favorite. we were also STARVED and most cafes close around 3pm down here, and if they aren't already closed, they have little to no food options. we ordered a couple teas and some grilled cheese sandos WITH THE SOUP. the prices were reasonable and the food was tasty!! the gal taking our order and making our drinks was very kind and dressed very whimsical, matching the vibe of the cafe perfectly. the ambiance here was what sold me - this place brings back so much nostalgia for what cafes used to be. i personally am tired of the psych ward white colored walls and cool lighting in nearly every single coffee shop. i'm also tired of righteous people and fast paced coffee where the standard is to order your drink, receive it within 30 seconds, and leave. here at metallion, i felt at home, and it is obvious that the rest of the customers there did as well. this is the type of place where they encourage you to stay a while, with shelves of board games, books, and featured local artists. i will be back!!!

Great little coffee shop that offers grilled cheese sandwiches and salads too. I've only been here once but intend to return. Service was great and I like that they have board games and books for customers to enjoy. Chill atmosphere.

I love this cool coffeehouse! They serve Stumptown Coffee, which I love, AND they are always playing great music. Cafe owner/DJ Rachel is warm and friendly and has created a little sanctuary in the community.

Mon Ami is amazing! I am in love with the menu change; it's all vegetarian and/or vegan, and homemade to boot. The grilled cheese and tomato soup are incredible. The whole shop has a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Game and craft nights, board games, books, and great music, as well as a wonderful owner who runs the whole place. Such a wonderful place to enjoy a morning or afternoon.

My go-to cozy bowl of delicious chili and toast!

I absolutely love Metallion Cafe --the food, coffee, tea, people, service, and its relaxing and cozy atmosphere. It's a great place for my husband and I to stop for for the best cup of coffee around. My kids enjoy dining with us and Grandpa here every week. It's just the perfect family-friendly spot to have dinner, play a board game & spend quality time together while supporting a local, Uptown Village small business.

Oh my goodness!! So yummy! I couldn't decide what flavor of Crepes I wanted so.... I got two different kinds! And they were huge. Haha very soft and sweet. I got the Elvis & the Nutella with Banana. Quick acting and kind employees. I will be back! :)

Sheryle and I have come twice now. The first time I didn't leave a review because we actually decided to do something else that day, but this is a really great place and if you like crepes I highly recommend it. They don't have a plethora of options, but there is definitely a good selection for you, they have good drinks, and especially good coffee. I really think that you won't be dissatisfied at all.

We were greeted and seated promptly in a sunny corner. Being in an old house the tables are kinda close together in sections. There was only one table available in a small room with 3 other four-top tables. It was super loud with that many people in such a small space. They definitely try to make use of every inch they have. We're not really 'crowd' people, nor do we enjoy high volume environments where we can't have a conversation without raising our voices. That part of the experience left little to be desired. The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Our water glasses were refilled promptly, and considering how busy they were, our food came out timely. We ordered the club sandwich with fries and a bacon Swiss burger with chili. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. They offer generous portions at affordable prices. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but given the loud and crowded environment, we're not sure it's a place we'll frequent in the future.

The bread was toasted and buttery, and the corned beef was steaming hot and delicious. The Caesar salad was also very good. I did not leave hungry; the portion size was large. It was a very filling meal. The service was top-notch. It was a Saturday at 11 AM. It was not packed but decently crowded, and all of the servers seemed to be on their game. The ambiance reminds me of an old-school deli. It was very clean, and there was ample seating. My friend lives in Vancouver, so I will definitely be back to try more of the food offerings when I'm in the area visiting.

We've been wanting to try this place for awhile now, but it always looks so busy on the weekends,…read moreso we waited until we had a day off during the week. We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. We only waited about 5 minutes for the host to clear the tables and set them. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell it's a popular place by how busy it was on a weekday. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the croissant club sandwich with fries and the triple play with half a reuben sandwich, Celtic Caesar salad and a cup of Irish stew. My hubby also asked for a side of bacon. The food came out rather quickly considering how busy they were. Everything we ordered we devoured. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I added avocado to my club sandwich and it was so yummy! Prices are more than reasonable compared to other establishments. You get a generous portion as well. Overall we were happy with the service, food and prices. We'll definitely return to try their breakfast options. Everything looked so appealing as it came out of the kitchen. Would highly recommend!
