This was my first time dining at Dulin's, so I have only had one meal. The Reuben sandwich was one of the better Reubens I've ever had. The bread was toasted and buttery, and the corned beef was steaming hot and delicious. The Caesar salad was also very good. I did not leave hungry; the portion size was large. It was a very filling meal. The service was top-notch. It was a Saturday at 11 AM. It was not packed but decently crowded, and all of the servers seemed to be on their game. The ambiance reminds me of an old-school deli. It was very clean, and there was ample seating. My friend lives in Vancouver, so I will definitely be back to try more of the food offerings when I'm in the area visiting. read more

We've been wanting to try this place for awhile now, but it always looks so busy on the weekends, so we waited until we had a day off during the week. We arrived around 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was still pretty busy, and only two booths were open. We were first on the wait list. We only waited about 5 minutes for the host to clear the tables and set them. Staff was friendly and welcoming. You can tell it's a popular place by how busy it was on a weekday. This restaurant occupies an older building in downtown Vancouver. There is street parking available. It's a small establishment, but they do a great job of utilizing every inch. They even have a nice waiting area by the door with two long wooden benches. There are both table and chair seating, as well as a few booths. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered the croissant club sandwich with fries and the triple play with half a reuben sandwich, Celtic Caesar salad and a cup of Irish stew. My hubby also asked for a side of bacon. The food came out rather quickly considering how busy they were. Everything we ordered we devoured. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I added avocado to my club sandwich and it was so yummy! Prices are more than reasonable compared to other establishments. You get a generous portion as well. Overall we were happy with the service, food and prices. Brunch dreams do come true! We rolled up for brunch and were met with a 45-minute wait (it was Labor Day to be Fair)--but with all the glowing reviews, we figured it had to be worth it. Spoiler alert: IT TOTALLY WAS. To kill time, we wandered over to the vintage mall across the street (10/10 recommend for distraction shopping and questionable fashion decisions). By the time we were done laughing at '80s vinyls and questionable biker jackets, our table was ready. Perfect timing! Now let's talk food. Holy portions, Batman. We ordered the El Paso and the Dublin, plus a side stack of pancakes--because brunch isn't brunch without a pancake cameo, right? Safe to say, it was more than enough for two people (but we have no regrets, only delicious memories). Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and those pancakes were straight-up cloud magic. I came to visit Vancouver and wanted to have something a bit different for breakfast and came across Yelp to this place. The ambiance is casual and the dining area is very spacious. They have pretty good selections on the menu and the Dublin's Irish dish for breakfast is just delicious. It's a pretty big portion and I'm glad I shared it with my husband. The kids pancake is so cute, they made an animal face for it and service is nice and attentive. Definitely come try them if you want something different for breakfast. read more

Dulin's Café has become one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots , every visit is somehow better than the last. I order the Huevos Rancheros every single time, and it never disappoints. The flavors are fresh, perfectly balanced, and honestly? It might be the best version I've ever had anywhere. Usually five out of five stars when I've dined at Dulin's the previous three times. I ordered the fruit cup previously before so I'm aware of its size and presentation. I don't know if they tried to dress it up to justified the $5.95 price which is more than fair in my opinion, but the way the fruit was shoved into the bowl was ridiculous. Half the mangis fell out when I tilted the small bowl to look at it. Then when I went to pull on of the 1/16" of an inch apple slices out, two more fell on the table. I'm not a germ-a-phob, but I should be able to pull my food out of the bowl without it falling onto a (hopefully clean) table. The worst part and I should have gave them one star for this, I immediately went to the counter and pair the manager? that delivered and when he asked if something was wrong, he rang me up. Fortunately I grabbed the bowl and was able to get a to go box for my "cup" of fruit. Here's a thought, give me a discount.‍ Big miss on customer service/satisfaction. This is the second time we've enjoyed a yummy breakfast while in Vancouver! The service is great, everyone is warm and smiling. I enjoyed the veggie Benedict with avocado, spinach and tomato with a side of crispy potatoes. Review update that's long overdue to up them to 5-Star status! This is an excellent breakfast & lunch spot. They have a nice variety on their menu, with some more unique offerings since it's an Irish-style family restaurant. My favorites are their Irish Bangers breakfast, and their Triple Play lunch special (currently $13.95 for 1/2 sandwich, with salad & cup of soup). The service is always friendly, and even when they're busy the food comes out relatively quick. And they have somehow managed to keep their prices fairly low, while keeping their quality & portions the same. Love this place! read more

Charming....charming is the word I would use to describe Dulin's Village Cafe in downtown Vancouver, like a warm hug on a rainy day. The first clue, that I had chosen wisely, was seeing people gather at the door, waiting for the restaurant to open. I ordered the short stack (2 pancakes) and a side of bacon which suited my sweet/salty cravings. The whole-grain pancakes were hot off the griddle, served with real butter, and syrup. They were tasty, but I am more of a buttermilk pancake gal. (if you want "real maple" syrup it costs extra....which, considering the jump in pricing at most restaurants, is a little annoying. But this is a minor quibble.) The two strips of thick bacon were perfectly grilled and had a nice, light, smokey flavor. Hub had the Huevos Rancheros...a layer of seasoned black beans, grilled tortilla, eggs (cooked any way you like), and topped with cheese and generous slices of avocado. It came with fresh salsa, a dollop of sour cream, and breakfast potatoes (which were delicious....and tasted freshly made, not frozen) We both had a rich cup of coffee served in a chunky mug. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional. The total for breakfast, for two, was about $33. It is getting harder to find non-chain restaurants that serve a traditional breakfast. So glad Dulin's is here. It is on my list whenever I am in downtown Vancouver. read more

I went to Dulin's for lunch yesterday. It was encouraging to see a line at 11:30 AM. That signaled to me that the food is worth waiting for, even on a busy weekday. I was right! I ordered the fish and chips. I really love fish and chips made with halibut and battered, not crumbed. These hit the spot! The server told us that it is hand dipped, not just pulled from a bag. It was deeply browned from frying, which made it extra tasty. There were 2 generous pieces along with fries. The fries were fine, I prefer them more crispy than these were, but that's just me. The only disappointment was no slaw. I missed the crunch and tang slaw adds to F and C. The price was also reasonable. Our server was very attentive and lovely. She was helpful and friendly and made our lunch more enjoyable. Dulin's has a nice, friendly vibe and is an asset to the neighborhood. I just wish they stayed open past 2! read more

Did a Yelp search for somewhere we could get either breakfast or lunch at 11:30ish and came across this little place. My lunch partner had the Claire (chicken and Brie) sandwich, which came with a choice of sides, and she went with the fresh fruit, as encouraged by our waiter when queried, and it seemed to be an excellent choice. She seemed delighted with both side and sandwich. I went with the Megan potatoes - and they were very flavorful. I chose vegetarian sausage with mine and was absolutely delighted. Really tasty, perfectly cooked (a bit crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft inside). I took at least half of the order home and warmed them up for dinner. I added a bit of sour cream from my fridge and this really put them over the top . I'll request them this way in the future. The coffee is exceptional. Very clean, warm and friendly place with pleasant staff. read more

Went on Sunday around 10:30. Place was packed and had to wait about 15-20 minutes which wasn't bad at all. Seated by friendly staff. Once food was ordered the wait wasn't long at all. We were seated immediately after being called and our server was there to get our drink and food order right away. Tried this place out for Saturday breakfast with a friend. She got a table for us right when they opened. Service was prompt and friendly with recommendations. I had french toast and added the fruit cup. Everything was DE-lish, but I really have to comment on how delighted I was to get a fresh side of just-cut pears, berries, mangoes, grapes, apples, & bananas! It started getting pretty packed and a bit noisy by the time we were finishing up, but it's a cozy place so I would say it's to be expected. We tried the Dulin's Cafe for the third time today. We've really tried to like this place over the past couple years. Unfortunately, they just can't get it right. The Traditional Breakfast is the easiest thing to make, one would thing. Eggs, toast, potatoes, meat. No frills, nothing fancy. Unfortunately, the meal was a bust again today. First, the eggs... I had to pick egg shell out of my breakfast, twice. Ordered poached eggs but ended up with hard boiled covered in egg shell. English Muffin was so dry, it was inedible. The ham was fine, but the potatoes were just blah. No taste, no flavor, no seasoning. This is unfortunate, as their service and atmosphere are pretty solid for this part of downtown Vancovuer. The waitress was pleasant and the pricing is on-point. The food is just less than mediocre and leaves no desire to return. Hopefully they can secure a better kitchen staff that can bring their A-game and change it up to a better menu. A menu change isn't necessary if they can just cook what is on their menu, well. Came here for a birthday brunch with some family. Considering we had eight people the wait wasn't terrible for a busy Sunday at noon. Strong mimosas. Great kids menu. The only thing a little bit lackluster was flavor of the eggs and the potatoes. But I'm a heavy season-er at home, so I think that's a me thing. My mom got the eggs benedict and the hollendaise also needed flavor. The service was good. The only thing that I would say about that is the plates get taken away the second you finish your last bite. they have a high turnover of tables. all in all was a good experience though the french toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon are all fantastic. read more

We stopped there because it's a place where we could park for free on a side street. We were going to dine at a restaurant by the waterfront, and hungry for some seafood soup, but Irish Stew sounds appealing right now, and this restaurant appealed to us, and it had 4 YELP RATING, that's a bonus! Hubby ordered the Reuben Sandwich with a side of Potato Salad. The sandwich was a classic and tasted delicious! The salad was unusual but also very very good. I ordered Turkey Club and it comes with a side of Irish Stew. They fixed it exactly how I like the club and the bacon was excellent & crispy, not soggy and raw like I've had in some restaurants (perfect for Filet Mignon lovers, but I like my bacon crispy, and they did that for me). We also got an extra serving of Irish Stew, with no extra charge! Did they know we were craving for some soup, and we shared the first one and took the other for the next meal (since we both left half of our sandwiches for the next meal). Our to-go order was ready in 10 mins. as promised! The staff was friendly. Negative: They didn't provide us with to-go utensils and napkins. Today we went to this restaurant to celebrate a huge accomplishment in our family. The owner was hostile and unwelcoming to my brother and sister when they requested to sit to the right because we had two small children in our party. My siblings were told to sit down in a rude manner. When we approached her to clarify because we were confused by this, she pushed back with an attitude laced with a smile, to the point where anyone would reasonably feel unsafe and upset to served by her. She would not seat us where it would be best for everyone out of the way with our kids. Instead she wanted us in the center of the restaurant. We informed her wewould be speaking to the owner about this terrible Customer service to which she replied she was the owner. If this was the owner this place is in serious trouble. She obviously has no traditional sense of hospitality, or common courtesy. Please look at the owners responses to one star reviews, and ask yourself, is this the work of a professional Person that deserves to have your business.
