Due to some upcoming medical issues needed some plumbing fixes ASAP. Called Meticulous, explained my problem and could they look at getting things done in the next two or three days. They sent an estimator out the next morning. We needed to have a drain system basically rerouted. Kaleb said he could come back the next day and get it taken care of. He showed up on time (both days) worked all day to get everything done. Had a couple of issues which he presented to us with at least two ways to fix. Called to have new toilet tank parts installed (valve flapper). He showed up 15 mins before the end of the 2 hour arrival window. He didn't have shoe covers and seemed annoyed that I asked. He took his shoes off. He was here for 45 mins and the bill was $358. That's just labor. I supplied the parts. He did the job and it works but that price to me is outrageous and I wasn't impressed that he didn't have shoe covers had an attitude when I asked him. I won't use this company in the future. Edit to add: in their reply they claimed their pricing offers an excellent value. The attached invoice speaks for itself. One hour labor, client supplied parts = $358. They also claimed pricing was upfront. It certainly was not. I asked for a price range when I called. They would only tell me the dispatch fee. If they told me the minimum fee was $358 to come out and do less than an hour of work I would have called some else. read more

I had gotten an appointment originally two days out from my first call and they were eventually able to move me up to just the next day and their communication methods to change the appointment to earlier was really easy and clear. I was given a 2 hour window in which to expect the plumber, and MP update me during the first hour of the window by texting to let me know my plumber would more likely be there in the 2nd hour, which I really appreciated. My plumber Randy was also great. He was very professional and efficient in the work he had to do and was really good at explaining the issue I was having. Additionally, I just bought my place a couple years ago and have gotten into doing different home projects myself. Completed one of two tasks on estimate and left with a leaking faucet. They did not leave new wash hoses as promised. Confrontational about their lack of work and proceeded to gaslight me about what I was reading on the estimate. *they did bring hoses the following day. They offered a change order of an additional $414 to come back and repair the leak. We can go back and forth about what was promised and what was delivered, the plumber left after 15 minutes of work with a leak still happening. Not cool, never gonna recommend to anyone again. Also, the story changed from "u signed wrong estimate" to "it's not on the estimate" to "you are reading it wrong" to "you are confused" to "our language on paperwork is "or" --gaslighting and outright lying doesn't sit well with me. read more

We have a house built in the late 1950's so the issues that come up require expertise in a range of plumbing problems - from water leaking below the kitchen sink (uber stinky) to installing a Toto toilet seat! Every plumber Meticulous has sent is super competent. Customer service is great from the moment you call - Tamara answers the Meticulous' phone with such warmth, they let you know the time the plumber is coming, tell you when they are on the way, the plumber explains the issues with pictures and easy-to-understand words, right the moment the plumber leaves. Could not be better. This visit, Edgar sorted out a bathtub clog connecting with the two sinks that he found. Because of three (or more) right angle turns in the under-house piping, the snake simply could not clear the long-in-the-making clog. He discovered the old metal clean out valve in the below-the-house space was the original and had not been removed in decades. It was rusted in place. Yikes. Edgar sawed off the old attachment, replaced it with a threaded plastic plumbing pipe and a new plastic removable cap for future use. More flowing ... and clearing future clogs will be far easier. I needed a plumber because a toilet was running downstairs had been turning off the supply valve, but then the supply valve broke and the water couldn't be shut off without turning off the water for the whole house. That's when he told me. I called Meticulous Plumbing and they told me there would be an $89 dispatch fee to come out and assess, at which time I would be told how much doing the work would cost before I agreed to have it done. The plumber did arrive quickly. I think it was less than an hour, which I thought was great. He quoted me $875 to do the work. I was shocked it was so much. I asked what the hourly rate was and he said they don't charge by the hour, but a flat rate per item. He showed me the bill on a small tablet that I, being a senior with vision less sharp than I once had, couldn't see except for the total. I agreed to have the work done because I needed it done and was already into them for $89 whether I had it done or not. It took him an hour to do the work, maybe 65 minutes at the most. It wasn't until after he was done, I had paid, and he had left, that he emailed me the invoice. That was when I learned that the charge for replacing the parts in the toilet tank, which they called a "minor tank rebuild," was $461. If I had understood that before he did the work, I would've had him just replace the supply valve so the water flowing into the tank could be shut off without shutting off the water to the whole house, and had asked my friend to either bucket flush or use one of the other two toilets in the house until a handyman I know would be available and would fix it at a much lower cost. I made a mistake in assuming that the bulk of the cost was for replacing the supply valve, but the plumber could've also told me the per item breakdown after I told him I couldn't see the particulars of the bill. The quality of the workmanship was fine and the speed with which he arrived was awesome, but charging $461 for a "minor tank rebuild" was difficult to fathom. Maybe another plumber would've charged just as much, I don't know, but a handy person wouldn't. I would consider calling Meticulous again if I had an emergency that required a journeyman plumber, but otherwise not. read more

The most pressing service we needed, the plumber installed well (install kitchen faucet- $450 and shower head- $197). The quote to install the other faucets in other locations, it was very expensive $470/sink (bathroom faucets totaling $941). So, we only had him install the kitchen faucet and shower head. We really needed help with the shower because it was an ancient shower head from the 70's, one that he had seen only one time before, so we were relieved he helped us with these installations. When I asked the plumber to move the garbage disposal to the other side of the sink, he did not suggest that I do that because the pipe would not drain correctly. To get around the obstacle he presented, I suggested moving it a different way, to which he agreed that what I suggested would work, but it was too late to conduct said service, I had to leave. read more

I've hired them for three unrelated tasks, and each time they made sure I knew how much it would cost if everything went smoothly, and what could go wrong given my temperamental old pipes. They don't just give you an arrival window, they call or text you to let you know the technician is on the way, and they even have an app that lets you see how far away they are so you know if you'll have time to take the dog for a quick walk first. They send you a picture of the technician, so you know who you're expecting. And they'll tell you what they're doing. They'll answer questions. They're polite and pleasant. They wear shoe covers without being asked. They clean up after themselves. Upon discovering that a 2-year-old pipe under the kitchen sink had suddenly become detached and was pouring water onto the floor, I put in a call to Meticulous. It was already mid- afternoon on a Friday and I feared it would take awhile to get someone out. Initially, I was told the first available appointment would be the following Thursday but, after a short wait on HOLD, the scheduler came back to say a plumber could come Monday afternoon. I scheduled that. About an hour later, I received a call advising that one of the plumbers was on his way home in our direction and could make a quick stop to look at the issue. Obviously, we were thrilled. Joe Beltran came by and, in less than 5 minutes, determined it was a simple problem with a gasket and replaced it. One of the co-owners, Leo, quickly and correctly diagnosed the problem: a shower valve that did not shut off completely and that was very difficult to turn from cold to hot. It needed a new valve cartridge, he said, a simple and straightforward task. He ordered the part and a plumber was scheduled for the next week. A plumber showed up and proceeded to install the cartridge incorrectly (cold was hot and hot was cold) and left debris from his work on the shower floor. I contacted the main office. He was then sent again to correct his error with assurances that the debris issue had been discussed with him. During his second visit he set the scald-prevention feature to "on", resulting in "warm " being the hottest water available. Debris was again left in the work area. Not meticulous. I then requested a third visit to correct the installation, asking for a different plumber. I received a prompt, same-day reply that the first plumber would be on his way. I had to repeat the request for a different plumber, who showed up within hours to correctly and cleanly reinstall the cartridge. read more

This is a review of service Meticulous performed in my house last year. I just came across my email to their service team that wasn't responded to, so figured I'd let you all know so you can save yourself some money. I contacted Meticulous about getting an estimate and let them know I wanted my kitchen sink drain pipes replaced, a garbage disposal installed, my toilet water supply moved, and a new toilet I had purchased installed. The plumbers who showed up to do the estimate were clearly ready to be done with their day. I showed them under the kitchen sink and they told me my problem was the current garbage disposal. I told them I did want the garbage disposal replaced but we had also had problems with the pipes leaking because they weren't properly installed. I mentioned the water supply line and toilet also and showed them the bathroom. One of the plumbers commented on the new toilet I had purchased and said it was a piece of junk and I should return it. It's an Alpha Pearl UXT toilet that has been an incredible addition to my home since I had another plumber install it. I was given a quote of $650 for the kitchen sink pipe work and garbage disposal installation. I thought it was expensive, but it had been a struggle to get a plumber to my home, so I accepted it. They did not provide a quote for any of the toilet work and the one gentleman told me he was going to talk me out of installing it. I didn't push the issue because I didn't want someone who so clearly didn't want to be there or be doing this work to perform any major plumbing work on my home. It became evident in him "talking me out of the toilet" that he found them (any toilets outside of a basic toilet) annoying to install. I also came to the conclusion that he must not be very good at installing them because he was complaining about all the times he had to go back and fix issues at houses he had installed complex toilets. This was all while he was watching the other person install the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. The person working under the kitchen sink then just reattached and tightened the existing pipes that were not up to code and they left. I had another plumbing company come the next week to give me an estimate for the toilet installation. While they were there I had them check the work that was done on the kitchen sink. They took one look and said that it wasn't up to code and the pipes would eventually come loose again with the shaking of the garbage disposal. They provided me with a quote to actually redo the kitchen pipes appropriately, as I had originally wanted, for $450. I am so glad I found Meticulous Plumbing. For an $89 dispatch fee, they will come out and look at all of your potential plumbing concerns to figure out what could be wrong, what potential fixes are, and how much those fixes would be. If you end up choosing them to do one of the fixes, they will credit $50 towards the price of the work they perform. Today, Edgar came out and was timely, professional, honest, and helpful. I asked numerous questions and Edgar explained to me how I could fix some of the problems myself if I was interested in going that route instead of paying for the company to fix them. He provided so many helpful tips. He gave me estimates for many different plumbing issues. I only chose to address 1 of them today and he respected that decision. I have used other plumbing companies that spent a lot of time trying to sell you their services and convince you that you need to deal with the worst possible case scenario right now (such as repiping your house ASAP or else everything is going to fall apart and collapse). Unlike many other companies, Edgar did not pressure me or make me feel like not repiping was going to be the worst decision in my entire life. He gave me the estimate so that I knew a ballpark of what Meticulous Plumbing would cost (which is definitely cheaper than some places out there), he listened to my concerns, and he understood and respected my "no" answer. Randy arrived right on time and installed a new frost-free faucet for me. He did it quickly and perfectly. The job entailed crawling under a spider-webbed crawl space to do a thorough preliminary inspection. I do know something about plumbing, having plumbed my house myself back in the 1970s. At that time the city inspector said it was perfect and I should do it for a living. Unfortunately a recent stroke has ended my home handiman efforts.
