I've had friends and family always tell me about Metro Diner, but I hadn't been able to try it until now. We ordered breakfast to go since we had a busy day of Christmas prep ahead of us. I'm always one who has a hard time deciding on what breakfast item to go with, so when there is a scramble option that combines it all-I MUST order it. The Avocado Bacon Scramble comes with eggs, bacon, an avocado and grape tomatoes on top of hash browns and hollandaise sauce on top. I did have to season my eggs with pepper but otherwise it was a delicious meal! I broke the bacon up into smaller bits and mixed everything together for equally flavored bites. This place is pretty solid for breakfast options that'll fill you up! I'd love to try out their lunch options next time and dine in! read more

One of our favorite places to eat is Metro Diner. We've been to a handful of them, but this was our first time at this location and it did not disappoint at all. It was quite packed on the morning we went, but we were still seated very quickly and it was very clean. Our waitress was great, could actually hear us through all the noise going on, and in no time at all had our drink orders delivered. Our food was delivered very quickly, which was amazing because of the amount of people inside, and the waitress made sure that our cups were never empty at all, refilling quite often and checking in on us. The manager was also whizzing around taking care of customers, cleaning tables, taking out food, etc. so it was great to see. This location was a little out of our way, but we will gladly be making the trip over there again! Definitely recommend this location. read more

I'm not a huge breakfast fan but this place was pretty great! The inside is definitely a diner vibe. The food usually comes out pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. It's a huge hit for the college students and family's in the area so it's usually a little more packed on weekends so just keep that in mind. This diner blew me out of the water with their unique breakfast options. Their eggs are delicious and not too oily. The food is cooked well and even the whole grain toast made it to my house without getting soggy. I only finished half of my Veggie Omelet meal before and I was full. The pumpkin bread pudding was warm, gooey, and decadent. Ordered for breakfast after a long night before and it brought me back to life. Diner food at its best! This is elevated diner food and stick to your ribs yummy. Whether you want a breakfast bowl, biscuits and gravy, or avocado toast, Metro Diner has you covered. You order at the counter, take a number and wait for them to bring your food to your table and it is full service after that. The portions are absolutely ginormous. My husband and I each ordered a biscuit entrée and had enough for a third person. The spicy honey chicken biscuit is delicious and even comes with a side grits or home fries. My husband's biscuits and gravy came with eggs and hashbrowns. Like I said the portions are enormous. College students can split a meal easily. We had an entire to go box with enough food to feed one or two more people. Special shout out to David who was so personable, noticed our college T-shirts, and we ended up chatting for 10 minutes about football and life in Orlando. Whether you're visiting a college student, or a college student looking for a hearty breakfast, Metro Diner fits the bill. From its humble start in a single location in Jacksonville, Florida, Metro Diner has grown into a significant culinary empire in a few short years. I have been a fan of Metro Diner for years. In fact, my first experience at Metro Diner was at the original location in Jacksonville when my daughter and I stumbled upon that location when heading back to Orlando, Florida from a trip up to my home state of New Jersey. We were both instant fans of the establishment. The Metro Diner can claim its history back to 1938, though that was when the building was built and opened as a diner. In the early 1990's, 1992 to be exact, the Metro Diner was rebranded as the Metro Diner and in 2000, the Davoli Brothers (Mark and John) purchased the Diner and their father came on board a few years later and Metro Diner began expanding throughout Jacksonville, Florida. In 2010, the Metro Diner was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and the popularity of that particular Food Network television show brought this diner its own level of popularity and with that popularity brought even more expansion. With that expansion came change. Unfortunately, one if those changes was a more streamlined menu and one of the items dropped from the menu was my favorite item at the Metro Diner. This was a pork tenderloin sandwich with bacon and lettuce. Truly a fantastic sandwich, but unfortunately, it fell to the wayside. The Metro Diner still has some fantastic options. Their burgers are pretty stellar. My daughter originally had the chicken and waffles, which is still her favorite item on the Metro Diner's menu and is still on the Metro Diner menu today. Overall, I had a great experience at this particular Metro Diner, even if I could not have that fantastic pork tenderloin sandwich. I would definitely recommend this particular Metro Diner and I give it five stars. read more

It's been a while since we have been to Metro but went with friends before a show. I know I love their fried chicken and was really in the mood for chicken & waffles... but it comes as half a chicken plus the waffle and that's was just too much for last night, so I went with the chicken tender plate. Group also got the Philly, breakfast burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and turkey plate. I loved mine - the chicken tenders have a great flavor, were juicy with a crispy coating, and a creole honey mustard dipping sauce that had a nice spice to go with the sweet. One gripe (but I should have asked) is when a side salad is brought with, not before, dinner. My wife had a little more trouble with her dinner (the reason for 4 not 5). The bun on her sandwich was firm - under the heat lamp or out in the counter for too long firm. Dense and crumbly. Took the chicken off. Her sweet potato fries were soggy the first go around. The second batch was very good. Everyone else loved their food and were ready to return to try the whole menu! read more

I've been to the Altamonte, Casselberry and now Oviedo metro. It was fine. The food was good. From my perspective restaurants respond two ways (maybe more) to peak times, it's done when it's done or let's kick these tushies into high gear. My experience was the former. Things were super slow and with a lil kid time before nap is a premium, so as nap time inched further and further off schedule I asked if there was an eta. The manager said, "we'll it's Sunday brunch there's nothing I can do to rush it, but I think you're next." And like I get it but also... the comfort of knowing we were soon was enough? If you have time to spare this is a solid location. If you're in a rush I'd pop over to Casselberry. That said Dana was nice and the food was good.
