I have visited a First Watch location in Houston, and just like there, this location did not disappoint. I got their Farmhouse Hash with pork sausage and god bless. I was really torn on what to order because I wanted a little bit of everything and this perfectly satisfied that need. It was a hearty and well portioned meal - truly encapsulated breakfast. My friend and I also got an order of their seasonal special - passion fruit paradise holey donuts which were the perfect sweet ending to our meal. We were staying in the adjacent hotel, and while they do offer a decent complimentary breakfast, you should consider stopping into First Watch for a nicer offering. read more

Been a while but GonzoEats is back and this time in Tampa. Had to get some breakfast so we decided on First Watch. Building was nice and very clean. Staff was welcoming and very attentive. So will not lie I thought that since it is a franchise that the food would be the same no matter where you go but that is untrue. These places still have their own style and flair. The omelette was good but I will say moderate seasoning compared to the ones in Miami. The pancake was good but not as soft as the ones in Miami. It had crispier edges and still had great taste. Smack the butter on there and syrup if you like and dig in. Potatoes weren't as crispy but still really good. Overall enjoyed the place, if I had to pick my favorite aspect would be the staff. High energy, attentive but not annoying or pushy. Would definitely eat here again when in town. read more

The food was consistent with what we've come to expect at other First Watch locations we frequent. However, the service experience was noticeably lacking from the moment we arrived. Despite the restaurant not being busy, we waited about five minutes to be seated while staff stood around, not appearing particularly engaged. Throughout our visit, the staff just didn't seem happy or enthusiastic to be there, which reflected in the overall customer experience. No one checked on us during the meal, and small details like being given to go cups with no straws and met with attitude upon request. Our server dropped off the food and check to several tables at once without saying much and walked off. Asked for extra napkins which was never delivered I might consider coming back for the ambiance alone, but the service here doesn't yet meet the standards we've consistently experienced at other First Watch locations. First watch is within steps of the Marriott hotel. I placed my order through the app. Walked over and the app showed my order was picked up. The pickup shelf was empty, so I asked a staff member to check and see if my order was accidentally picked up. The staff member came back with my food and drink. I ordered the AM Superfoods Bowl for myself, and the Smoked Salmon & Roasted Vegetable Frittata with the Lemon-Dressed Organic Mixed Greens. Food was good. The AM Superfoods Bowl portion was small. What can I say about First Watch. Disclaimer this is my favorite brunch spot. I like several items on their menu but the strawberry lemon crunch French toast was my absolute favorite thing on the menu. The strawberries were sweet and combination with the lemon sauce is the chef's kiss for this dish. We had great service. Allison was awesome!!!!! Seating outside in the breeze made the meal perfect. Our server seemed tired or just over it. She was nice but disappeared altogether before we finished and we had to flag down someone else working to help us out. The food was just okay. I had the turkey sausage biscuit and gravy, home fries and eggs. It was a great portion, but not very special as far as taste goes. Crazy busy but makes sense with all the hotels around there and limited walking distance food. Well worth the wait though. Portion sizes are huge! Having visited first watch in Colorado, I was excited to find out there was a first watch in Florida too. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any in California. This place was close to the hotel we were staying at so I decided to take hubby here for a quick brunch to start the day. I got the Belgium waffle, hubby got the bacon tomato and arugula egg Benedict. Then we paired it with two glasses of orange juice. Food was delicious and service was good. We ordered a few seasonal specials such as the Million Dollar Bacon and Elote Burrito but also classics like Chickagna and Bloody Mary. Food was good especially the bacon. My issue was with the cocktails. They are served in a premade mini carafe. I don't like premade drinks because it doesn't taste the same as it being fresh. The service was great here! The waitress was quick and kind. The restaurant is adorably decorated. It has a nice rustic feel (shiplap, hanging lights,etc.). The chocolate chip pancakes were fantastic. I was fearful since it said "multigrain". However, it tasted great and had perfect texture. The eggs and the bacon was where a star was lost. The eggs were supposed to be over medium but were instead quite overcooked (little to no yolk that was raw, which I love, sadly). The bacon that my kids received was perfect and they loved it. However, one family member received burnt bacon in their potato dish. I would like to see more consistency with sides. Though I know they were busy (hence the removal of one star). My first time at this First Watch location, it's cute inside! We went around 9am on a Saturday and were seated right away. By the time we were leaving, there were at least 5 parties waiting for a table. The morning meditation fresh juice was good! Tasted fresh. Highly recommend the market hash to get in a ton of vegetables which taste great with the goat cheese and potatoes. Not pictured is million dollar bacon. 10/10. Very different than the side of bacon that comes with meals. Definitely order million dollar bacon!! read more

I got the seasonal million dollar harvest hash (seasoned potatoes with Million Dollar Bacon, house-roasted sweet potatoes and Crimini mushrooms, kale and Jack cheese topped with two cage-free eggs cooked any style, herbed Goat cheese, lemon-dressed arugula and drizzled with Mike's Hot Honey®.) I ordered my eggs runny and cheese on the side. I loved this! There were so many potatoes I ended up packing the rest of them to go and using them in breakfast the next day, but I really enjoyed this meal and would get it again. Loved having both regular white potatoes and sweet potatoes, and their million dollar bacon is just phenomenal. I was in Tampa visiting a family member and we decided to have brunch at the Westshore First Watch before we leave Tampa. My family and I waited about 15 minutes for a table and were seated near the kitchen. The food was excellent and our server was very friendly and provided great service. While we were for our food, I had a clear view of the kitchen and observed how team worked. Overall everything seemed very organized and there was a strong sense of teamwork(communication and smiling). However, I did notice one concerning incident-a server sneezed into a napkin but did not wash his hands afterward. He then picked up a plate and delivered it to a table, with his fingers touching the food. I also saw him fix his hair and, again, handle another dish without washing his hands. I was very disappointed to witness this. I believe First Watch has a strong training program for staff and I hope this issue can be addressed to maintain the high standards. read more

Tried this relatively new location of this chain breakfast/lunch restaurant. Inside has a modern decor with a spacious design. They have covered outdoor seating. The food and service was very good. I have found that this chain is consistent across many locations I have been to. The menu has many unique breakfast and lunch items as well as several healthy options. For breakfast I order the Italian omelette. For lunch my go to is the roast beef & havarti grilled sandwich. They have many different drinks from hot beverages to cold . I'm in between 2 and 3 stars. The staff in front is nice and do a good job herding all the people, we put our name on the online waitlist and didn't have to wait too long on a Sunday morning to be sat, maybe 15 minutes. We came to first watch to try the new spring menu that I got an email about, the new items looked so good so a week after the email we went to try. The table behind us must have had the same idea because as we sat down I heard her ask about the menu and the waitress said "whatever is on the menu in front of her is what we have, the kitchen is super backed up" which was a little rude but whatever. I checked all over the menu for the spring menu items advertised and they were nowhere. Sad, we wouldn't have come if we knew that. Whatever, I love first watch so I'll get what I always get, the waffle/ egg/ bacon breakfast plate. I'm not being dramatic when I say the waffle on my plate was rock solid and there was a white crustiness baked into the dough, not the powdered sugar, I mean like freezer burn or something. See videos for what I'm talking about. I tried to eat it but it was cutting my mouth with how hard it was. I never complain at restaurants or send anything back, but I was going to ask this one time. However we didn't see our waitress again for about 15 minutes, then she whizzed by to drop off the receipt with a smile and said "no rush" before hurrying away. I get it, Sunday morning is packed. We visited on Father's Day this year with a total of eight people in our party and we were seated fairly quickly, but our party was separated into separate tables, I requested if we could just combine the tables together since they were right next to each other, but the employees refuse to do that stating that it was Father's Day and and they couldn't do it and it was also a safety hazard. I saw that there was a table that sat 6 guest near us that was open and if we could just cap the ends so we could all be together as that was the point of going out for Father's Day. Again management and server refused, which made me concerned as while I'm having this conversation with him they seat that table and cap the ends, which they refused to do for us bc it was a "safety hazard" after much back and forth the manger finally give us the okay to join the two tables together and we enjoyed our breakfast as a family. I would like to give a special shout out to our waiter, tall young man who completely turned our experience around for the better! Our first waiter was very rude and argued with me over table sugar and stated that white cane sugar was what they had out on the table, I explained to him that I am a regular at first watch and have never had a problem with requesting regular sugar from the back and even went to show him that what they have out is not the same. Our first waiter as well did not come up take our drink order for almost 10 mins after being sat. I am very happy that we got our new waiter I am unsure if his name but he was amazing & very easy going, he did tell us that due to the accommodating issue many longer parties walk out. Out party was on the verge of doing so, I am not sure if I would be back to this location specifically but first watch as a whole is great with good food and reasonable pricing, and amazing coffee read more

I took my parents visiting from out of town here for brunch in February '23, and we had a great time. I had to deduct one star because our view sitting outside was facing one of Tampa's finest Gentleman's Club. Not exactly the view I would hope for during a brunch with the 'rents! They also had some other unique flavors that our server recommended that I would love to try on my next visit here. For brunches, I am always torn between ordering sweet and savory. Their menu item "Trifecta" allowed me to satisfy both of those cravings! I got an enormous chocolate chip pancake, scrambled eggs, and chicken sausage. I was licking my plate clean by the end! My mom is one of those "Almond Moms" (if you know, you know), so she enjoyed the healthy options First Watch had to offer and settled with one of the Power Bowls. My dad is a true meat and potatoes guy, so he loved his omelet and home fries. Overall, we had a great meal catching up and catering to all of our taste buds. It's served with their great bread and a light salad. Yes, salad with breakfast. I also enjoyed a "morning meditation" which is one of their juice drinks. Time to get some raw vitamins! By far the worst First Watch I have been to...Every other First Watch has been 5 stars, but they should be embarrassed by this location. $46 breakfast and none of it good. Perhaps corporate does a visit to this location and shut it down. While the breakfast was horrible, I will mention that Brooke was very nice and apologetic for the bad breakfast. read more

We ordered pick-up from this location last week. Upon entering, I wasn't sure where to go, but an employee saw me and helped me find the pick-up section. I ordered avocado toast and my companion ordered a spinach, egg, and feta breakfast wrap. Both of our meals were pretty good. The guacamole on my toast was starting to turn grey in spots, which took away from the overall taste of the avocado. We appreciated the little take-out baggie filled with cream and sugar for our coffee, but we were not given any utensils or napkins, which made eating difficult since we were on the go. Overall, I'd come here again, but I'll be sure to ask for utensils if I'm doing take-out. read more
