Once again a total disaster. After my first visit I though "give them a few weeks to get there shit together " nope. Still not even ok. I truly believe the are ruining their long term business. So .. this morning. It's insanely busy. But a counter spot opens up. Great! Only a 15 minute wait. Order corned beef hash extra crispy . My wife got San Fran Benny. Coffee is just ok. We wait 35 minutes. It comes out. My wife's Benny has broken hollandaise sauce. The avocado was over ripe the ham not really heated. Her eggs were right! Mine came out blonde. Not even light brown. It wasn't even hot. I sent it back. I was at the counter so I could watch. They put it back on the grill 6-7 minutes. Then in the window. There it sat for another 5 minutes until I ask to server yo get it for me. It still wasn't the way I wanted but what the hell. Cut in to my eggs . Hard boiled?? My English muffin was cold. I gave up and asked for a check. The server saw how unhappy I was and sent the manger over. He apologized and picked up the check. I didn't need him to do that. What I needed was breakfast. They have now ruined two mornings. I'm not that picky. I swear! They had the hash browns today and they are great. But to be honest I can't see going back. read more

If you you put a creamer in it and it barely changes color, if it tastes bitter, either it's been sitting around too long or your machine needs cleaning. Hubby and I have officially visited all of the metro diners. All three are amazing. The concord pike one is just like the others - clean - friendly- and delicious. Paris the server was very attentive and the manager checked on us twice - very nice touch. We truly enjoy the Metro diners - and it is nice to know whichever one you go to - it is the same quality and consistency. I had the croissant French toast for the first time. It was huge!!!! And good. Husband had Belgium waffles (again) and he was pleased. Great place!!! read more

Don't bother getting on the waitlist online they don't abide by it. Put our names in for an 11 minute wait, showed up on time and was told there was a 15-20 minute wait. Disappointing but not the biggest deal. A few minutes later while seated on the bench, was told to go outside and wait in our car, basically kicked out. Could have been handled way better. I tried it again with 11 people. Cameron was our waitress. She was very attentive. The food was average, but unique. Food did not come out at same time, but not a big deal for us. A great place for real eggs, not a bakers mix, wonderful waffles, not from a pre-mix and great hash browns. It's so hard to find breakfast places who don't use the bakers premix of eggs that taste like cardboard. Well, Metro uses fresh eggs in their omelettes. Thank you Metro. read more

First and only time there. We were comped for terrible service, horrible breakfast and exceedingly long wait.

We were there for breakfast.....very busy. Ordered our drinks and food. Waited 45 minutes - no food yet. Went to the counter to cancel order and pay for coffee and leave. They checked when our order would be coming up and was told "only" be 10-15 minutes more! Whaaat?! we gave them $20 and left. We have had very good food and service at other Metro's but prob wont go here again. Management really didn't care. read more

Love the food, especially when I'm hungry. Seems to taste even better. Burgers are little circles of steak-like heaven. I have planted subliminal messages into the subconscious minds of Mel, Cara, and Jordan. They now bring me an entire pitcher of iced tea when I show up. Or maybe it was me asking for 8 or 9 refills and they just got tired. Sometimes you can catch Jordan dancing when she gets a nice tip. If you love pickles, you will love this place. They love pickles too. Alberto is a very sociable extrovert that makes everone feel welcome, even if you steal his parking spot. Overall great food, great service, and my "kitchen away from home." We are big fans of Metro. Stopped in on the Presidents Day holiday for a late breakfast in the way to the movies. There was a wait - as there always is - but they move things along quickly. We grabbed seats at the counter with a full view of the kitchen. Food was fabulous - as always: spicy chicken Benedict was out of this world and my husband gave high praise the the breakfast pie. And -as always - the home fries were the best I've ever had. But what stood out in this visit was watching the kitchen staff. I have never in my life seen harder or more skilled workers. They were slammed with orders but they moved together like it was choreographed! Unbelievably efficient and the food came out looking perfect! Love this place. read more

I love this place! My boyfriend and I split the chicken and waffle and the avocado toast. Both were excellent and the portions are fairly large so we got to bring some home. The waffle comes with a strawberry butter and the chicken was fried perfectly. The food came put pretty quickly and the prices are higher than your typical dinner but I think the quality of food is better. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I really enjoyed all the decorations. read more

Metro Diner is North Wilmington's newest all day breakfast/lunch and dinner spot. It officially opens on 10/25/18 but we had an opportunity to try them out during their 'soft open' this morning for breakfast. The menu features traditional diner fare with some different favorites like fried chicken and waffles and huevos rancheros, even avocado toast. Metro Diner is a chain, with lots of locations up and down the east coast. The next closest one is in Newark, near the Christiana Hospital. We've eaten at the Newark location and I'm pleased to say the food is just as good at the Concord Pike location - impressive considering this was really their first day and the staff is still learning. Service was great, the regular staff was working with trainers and learning the ins-and-outs, but everyone was super friendly. Food arrived quickly and everything was exactly as requested. We've been to some other soft opens (and even grand openings) that didn't go so smoothly, so I was really pleased that this was a great experience today. Oh - and unlike other restaurants - Metro Dinner invited A.I. duPont to set up a table and encouraged donations which benefitted the NICU. It's clear that the owners want to give back to the community. Bottom line - if you're looking for a nice place to get all-day breakfast, lunch or dinner where you get big portions at a reasonable price Metro Diner is well worth checking out. read more

Came here with my boyfriend a few days after they opened. Let me just say that all of the staff who approached us were EXTREMELY friendly and made our experience very pleasant. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and seated shortly thereafter. Drink orders were taken, and I couldn't decide on my meal since I knew I was in the mood for a Belgian waffle, but not a whole waffle. Waitress suggested that I could get a half waffle (not listed on the menu)! The food here was very rich and filling, especially the grits. Portions are very big and we ended up taking a lot home. I'm from Jacksonville Florida where Metro started and I was super excited when the one in Wilmington opened and went way more than we should have!! I couldn't believe one was opening 10 minutes from us so we went several months ago (December) and the food was great, except the biscuits and gravy, mainly the "gravy". Sausage gravy should be white with pieces of pork sausage (like a pack of Jimmy Dean) not more of a tan color with pink sausage pieces. I couldn't eat more than a bite. We went back a couple months later and it was a little better, more edible, but not Metro biscuits and gravy. Today, we went for brunch and I got the strawberry cheesecake Yo Hola and OMG its AMAZING as usual! Hubby got the biscuits and gravy and they are so much better than before. I don't think they are 100% Metro worthy but much better than they were. The staff has always been very nice and wait for food has its ups and downs but the food always makes up for it. First time at this new location as I had $25 gift certificate to use. I tried the Shrimp and Grits which looks awesome but if you already have hot idea of what this dish is then you may be a little disappointed. I wasnt a fan of the fried grit cakes used in the dish and it's overloaded with this "gravy" but the size of the shrimp and how they were cooked was AWESOME!! I am use to very southern soulful grits and even a more upscale take on this particular dish so it just didn't go along with what I expected. So don't think it is a bad one just a call out. My daughter got the protein breakfast which was 4 scrambled eggs (added American cheese) and 2 meats (she got sausage links and patties) which she enjoyed. I think I will maybe try some French toast or pancakes when I return to one of the locations. It was very busy so we waited 30 minutes, I am guessing with being new everybody is checking it out on the weekends including this Saturday morning. Either way I think this chain is a welcome addition to the area so give it a try. Cranberry juice was good... though might have been drink not juice!! My husband and I went there last night for dinner at 7pm, the place was dead. I couldn't make up my mind between the meatloaf or the shepherds pie so I asked the waitress her response was "the meatloaf is 50/50 and I've heard better things about the shepherds pie". Oh and we had to wait 10 minutes for her to even greet us and get us drinks. She told me she's heard better things about the shepherds pie, so I ordered that. OMG! The shepherds pie was more like shepherds sh-t! There was no sign of ground beef it was more like greasy refried beans. It was absolutely disgusting! First time going to this dinner which was recommended by two of my coworkers and my husband LOVED IT! which he lived in Alabama for 5yrs has been craving biscuit sausage gravy platter for the longest! That being said he had to order it since it was one of the platters listed on there menu! Not only was the pricing great but it was big and satisfying! Alberto the manager was great and friendly along with our waiter Zac! Thanks again for the great experience! & the chefs in the back for the flavorful food!
