I called Metro and within 15 minutes Marion called me and within 30 minutes after I talked to him he came out to my home. I have used this company in the past without issue. This time, however, it didn't go smoothly. I found there are different phone numbers; one for the main office and another to text, however I didn't discover this until I was in a pinch and couldn't wait to hire another company. Marion got a little testy, accusing me of not returning calls, emails, texts. Any communication seemed to be system generated. Too much confusion. I was charged $200 to remove a computer desk, which was taken apart, and a small cabinet. A lot of $$$ for so much aggravation. read more

Marion provided great communication from the start of me inquiring on a quote. I needed an old couch hauled away. While timing for removal of the old couch was not an immediate need, the sooner the couch could be gone the better. Marion and I were in contact on a Monday morning to schedule the couch removal and he understood my request and flexibility. Marion knew for a fact there was an opening the next day at 9am and scheduled my removal service for that time which was fine with me. Marion indicated if his guys could swing by today that they were happy to do so. A couple hours later Marion contacted me and said his guys could come by in an hour or so to pick up the couch. I was happy to hear this. Francisco and Bucky arrived right on time and got right to business. They were both very professional and friendly. There were detailed in their work to make sure not to scuff any walls, knock anything, etc.. I was appreciative of that. Francisco and Bucky were at my place for about 15ish, maybe 20 minutes and the job was done. Payment was easy with my credit card and there was an option to tip on the card which was nice as I did not have any cash on me (though I know cash is typically preferred). Overall, I had a great experience with Metro Junk Removal from communication, timeliness, and professionalism. No complaints here! I needed to have old furniture hauled away-approximately 15 pieces of furniture (heavy dressers, hope chest, old tube tv, foot locker, heavy wood cocktail table, bed frame and wood scraps. After reading the reviews, I emailed a request for a quote. I also requested quotes from two other service. All three responded within 60-90 minutes. Marion called me to get more details and I appreciated being able to talk with him. Shortly after our call (within 10 minutes), Marion emailed the quote. It was extremely fair, reasonable so I approved the quote and I decided to hire Marion and his team. I was not disappointed. After approving the quote and scheduling the pick-up date and time, Marion texted a confirmation including the signed quote price. On the scheduled day, I received a text informing me Marion and his crew were on their way. Marion arrived approximately 10-15 minutes before the crew to meet us and familiarize himself with our building's parking situation.(We had roofing contractors and dumpster in our lot and as a result, limited access to our back door parking lot.) We had staged most of the furniture in the hallway of our condo building to help make it more accessible for the crew. We only had a couple hours available for Marion and his crew to haul away our stuff. After his team arrived, Marion introduced us and politely left to move on to his next customer. My husband and I had a huge task finding a reputable and reliable removal business. We live in CALIFORNIA but my father-in-law's home was in ILLINOIS. I initially choose Metro Junk Removal based on the reviews. But my final decision was made on my first conversation with Marion. Marion spoke highly of his employees, he praised them and spoke highly of their loyalty to him and his business. He provided us with an estimate on photos we provided of the home. He had to give his best "guesstimate" on the garage because we did not have photos available. The garage and the home were "packed". We accepted the guesstimate knowing it would probably be more.
