Company tries to scam people out of money by not giving their deposits back, they just hope you never notice.

So, 7 Months have since passed from the day we traded in our Toy Hauler, And the misery of "working" with Metro RV began..... I wish I'd of thought to do this previously, it would have save me a lot of time and stress!! I sent an email to the Burbank Chamber, City Officials, and many more, asking for assistance with our problem, thankfully they were willing to help and a visit was made on our behalf by one of the members of the Burbank Police Department's Sergeant's. I can not thank them enough for helping us. I filed with the DMV, the BBB and every Review Board I could find. Our loan was finally paid off 2 weeks ago, and yesterday, I received a letter from the Bank with our "Pay Off" notice. I think I will frame it!! Thank you again Sergeant Ryburn. read more

Although the staff is friendly and helpful the quality and cost is not worth it anymore. Because they have no return policy on Sundays, I parked the RV on the street in front of the place late Sunday afternoon because my neighborhood has no place for an RV and I got a parking ticket which they made me pay for. I asked if they have parking permits so at least I could fight with the Burbank PD and they told me no. I don't believe them because they had to ask the city to put those signs there, (2 hour parking from 8am to 6pm and I got the ticket @ 6:48pm) which is not even residential. And after all the issues the motor home had; broken table, sticky flush pedal which caused a flood, engine compartment that wouldn't fully close so it burned your foot while on accelerating, a sideways DVD player by the back bed that was just about useless, you would think they would give you a break. No is the answer. The motor home was poorly maintained overall, with the tiles coming up in the kitchen, drawers that wouldn't shut, missing rubber feet on the ladder for the upper deck. I could go on. With all of this you would think they would handle a $55 ticket? No, they didn't. We have been renting from them for the last 6 years. Never again. They just lost a steady customer and I will never recommend them again. Have had several issues with the motorhome that I've paid out if pocket...totaling thousands of $$$. However in the quest to purchase a new vehicle we found out that metro RV has never paid off our trade in loan and has been making payments to the loan in my name!! Not only keeping my loan open they have had 3 - 30 day lates on this loan under my name!! Because of this my credit has dropped 100 points and is keeping me from making any purchases!!! Metro RV offers beat-up broken campers at high prices. We just rented one for 13 days at a cost of over $2800. The auxiliary battery failed on the first day. The generator never worked. Luckily we were hooked up to an electrical grid for much of the trip. When we weren't we suffered in over 100 degrees with no AC. We had to run the fridge on propane the entire time. When we made Metro aware of these problems they blamed them on us and took no responsibility or interest in our concerns. Renters are made to watch a 50 minute video before driving away. Metro staff insisted that if we had watched the video and properly followed directions we would have not had any problems. The rental agreement declares that Metro is not responsible for ANYTHING thst goes wrong once you drive off the lot. My husband and I have rented RVs for the last 8 years. We were not the problem. The absolute worst place I have ever dealt with. Bought a used camper from them and they lied about everything about it, faked it working during the walkthru that we were rushed through and installed the wrong kind of slider in my truck. Then said we would get $5000 for our used camper, which they then called and offered us only $3000. Finally had to accept $4300 from them just because we are sick of dealing with them. Never return calls and never answer the phone. Literally dozens of calls trying to get answers, not a single call back. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY PLACE!!! Our first time RV rental experience was a complete nightmare after dealing with these characters! After calling and visiting different places to rent an RV for our annual family camping trip, we found this place the most competitive. Now we know why! On a Friday at around 5:15 pm, while driving threw Bakersfield on our way to our campground in Sequoia, our rental RV broke down. My kids and mother helped us push the broken down RV to safety. We immediately called the number given to us on our rental agreement for roadside assistance. We were given the runaround through out the night and every time we called to check on where the mechanic was, we were told that he was on his way. After 3+ hours of waiting with no answers or mechanic in sight, we were instructed to call the mechanic ourselves to find out where he was. When we called the mechanic, we were floored to find out that we had been lied to when we were told the mechanic was on his way! He informed us that the office supervisor knew all along that he had to go pick up his daughter in Anaheim then he would have to stop in Burbank to pick up tools and another coach before he could get to us in Bakersfield! After waiting around for 9+hours the mechanic finally arrived at 2:30 am..... the next morning! To make matters worst; During our trip we pulled into a gas station and were hit by a careless driver, who's car rolled into our rental RV, scuffing above rear drivers side of tire frame. When Cheryl saw the scuff, she said not to worry, that it was a very small scuff and the most the part would cost is $250 (unpainted). However, they would have to hold our $500 deposit until they got the actual estimate from vendor. Which at the time we agreed to. During the return, Cheryl said she would credit us a day of our 3 day rental to compensate for our lost camping day....It was the least she could do after all the lies and leaving us stranded for 9+ hours and NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY! As we left the office, we were told we could go back to check the RV for any items that may have been left behind. As we were heading to RV, we were approached by one of their yard employees who without us saying anything to him about our nightmare, asked us how we liked the RV. We didn't want to say anything to anyone until our case was closed. He then proceeded to mention that the company is corrupt and that they don't take care of their employees. He said they were all planning a walk out due to the bad treatment and went as far as giving us the name of the RV company they were all leaving to. Knowing that we hadn't mentioned our experience anyone other than Cheryl and Roberto. We were blown away by all he told us about this company! Days, weeks went by and our case was still open with no answers. Following with their poor customer service pattern, Cheryl never called us to let us know that they had filled a claim with our insurance company and had to wait till the case was reviewed before our case would be closed. Every time we called, Cheryl would tell us that we had to call our insurance adjuster because they hadn't received payment for the small scuff on the RV. The insurance decided that we were at fault and cut them a check for over $500. Wanting this nightmare to end and knowing that the only way to end it all was to get them paid and deal with our insurance on a later date. They were paid in full...plus more than they deserved! Before writing a review on Yelp. I felt that I should speak to a supervisor rather than Cheryl to let them know how disappointed we were and how poor their customer service skills were. As I was telling the "supervisor" about our experience, he says "what else did you want us to do?, Cheryl credited you a day and Cheryl was here after hours cleaning a coach to take to you guys, when she could have been home resting" I was disgusted by his reply and made it clear to him that I was going to write this review after all. All he said was "please be fair when you write the review, we did all that we could do for you guy's ". DO NOT TAKE YOUR RV HERE!! ...After owning two RV's, and for many years thinking that Metro RV was the only game in town, I decided to try a few other places- like **Camping World**, or Meyers RV. What a difference!! But more importantly-- I had taken my RV to Metro for repairs after a collision, and they said it was fixed. WELL!! LATER, my entire subfloor rotted out, because of plumbing leaks caused by their shoddy work. That one cost me over $5000 of my own money to fix. ...And this wasn't the first, or worst time. Back when I had my Winnebago Chieftan, they replaced the engine- OVER FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES. ...And why did they have to do that?? ...Because their service department is incompetent. ...If the engine keeps blowing up, don't you think it might be a good idea to figure out WHY?? Turns out it was a bad thermostat, but they kept putting the broken thermostat back into each brand new engine, and then saying that it was fixed. Of course, I'd take them at their word, and the engine would blow up again. (...You'd think that maybe after engine #3, they might start to wonder if something bigger was wrong??) So, yeah- altogether, I think that had cost me something like $20,000 of my own hard-earned money. ...See- nearly every time I've ever gone here to have something fixed, it just seems like they hacked it together, without any attention to detail, or regard for excellence in customer service. Like for another example- the house batteries and solar panels. I said to Jesse (in the service department) "Could you please put in some really good batteries and solar panels?" ...And what did I get?? Some rinky-dink panels that don't even charge up the crappy lead acid (probably used) deep cycles they put in. ...And WHY was it that those rinky-dink panels weren't charging the batteries?? ...BECAUSE THEY WERENT HOOKED UP TO ANYTHING!! Yep! Unbelievably, they just fastened the solar panels to the roof, and said it was done! ...No solar controller, no wiring the panels to anything! UNBELIEVABLE!! So, later, I ended up having to replace all of that (with new Optima yellow tops, a solar controller that is *actually* wired up and which *actually* does charge the batteries, and 130W panels)-- to the tune of an extra $2000. I mean really-- if I had just known that there were much better places out there (like CAMPING WORLD!!), I probably would have saved enough money to buy three brand new RV's. Oh- but wait, there's more... The sewer dump line-- yes, they "repaired" that too- but alas, the moment I drive it off the lot, and go to dump my waste at a septic dump-- the grey water EXPLODES EVERYWHERE. ...Again, took it someplace else, and had it fixed to the tune of $300, and I've never had any problems so far. There are countless other examples I can think of-- how Metro RV had "installed" an inverter for me, but then wired it up completely wrong, so that nothing worked... Or, what about the new bumper they "welded" on-- I think the guy with the welder must've just graduated from kindergarten; there was weld splatter everywhere, and once I mounted a bike rack on it-- BLAM!!! ...The whole bumper falls off in the middle of the freeway- and AGAIN, I take it someplace else, cough up over $400, and have it PROFESSIONALLY welded back on, so that it will never fall off again- and will be able to carry bikes and a bike rack. But I mean, really- shouldn't that have been done right the first time?? And the list just goes on and on... I had also noticed that they recently went through a rebranding effort-- don't let them fool you! ...It's the SAME incompetent people, doing the SAME horrible, fraudulent job that they've been doing for *years*. ...In fact, it's too bad Yelp doesn't allow you to give negative stars, because to say that the 1.5 stars they currently have is probably too generous. ...I mean- they do sell propane, and haven't managed to screw that up- but otherwise... Really- **please**- go see Peter up at Camping World in Valencia. It will cost you maybe $25 to become a Good Sam member, and WOW!! The quality and savings to have your rig fixed at one of their many nationwide super-centers is just amazing. Like for example- they are having a special until the end of 2014 where if you buy most major stuff- washer/dryers, solar panels, awnings, water heaters, etc-- mostly anything-- Good Sam members get it installed for just $39! ...Holy Crap-- think of all the money now that I just SAVED!! read more

Cheryl has always been very considerate and understanding for my RV rental needs. The RV is always spotless and clean when I pick it up. Fuel, water, batteries and propane is full. The refrigerator is cold. After a quick run-through of the RVs features, I can drive off and pack all my belongings in it. Cheryl is quick to remedy any problem that I encounter. RV we decided to rent it from Metro RV for our honeymoon and take a one week road trip within CA. The pricing has been very fair and the RV was adorable and very updated and very comfortable. My husband and I purchased an expensive motorhome on the east coast and needed a number of different things done to get it ready for a big trip. Danny got everything taken care of at fair prices and faster than other local shops were available. He even saved us money when we thought we needed 6 new batteries and he showed us that we only needed two starter batteries. read more

SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH METRO RV UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO RENEW THEIR SALES LICENSE AND WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO SO AGAIN IN CALIFORNIA!!! They are under investigation by the CA DMV for multiple cases where they have sold RV's, not paid off the existing liens, not transferred title or registration, and have stolen money for extended service contracts through Cornerstone. There have also been criminal charges filed against them. I fell victim to their scheme with an RV that I purchased back in December 2012. It was a consignment sale. They have yet to pay off the original lien, transfer title/registration, give the lien to my bank, and they also took my $3k for a service contract that Cornerstone has no record of. I am working with the DMV, my bank, and a personal lawyer to hold them accountable. They screw the seller, the buyer, and everyone in between. This has apparently been going on for years. read more

Had a fuel safety recall done in 06 and after talking with Workhorse about another issue they informed me the fuel safety recall was not done. I called Metro and they have no record of the work. What a disaster! Save your time and money, go elsewhere!! Here's my story so you can avoid getting the same treatment. Found them through an internet booking company. Was a gr8 price for Burning Man festival. Came to collect and the driver's air conditioning didn't work, wait or go? driving through the desert without air conditioning was a bad idea!! During the RV check the fridge door fell off, they used a piece of wire to fix it. Didn't close properly, food never cooled, less shelf life! The outside was still dirty. We were on a mission and couldn't wait around for 2 days to get it all fixed. Try finding a replacement RV anywhere on the west coast the day before Burning Man starts! also lose your entire fee. Trapped! They take full payment 30 days before the booking and you lose it if you cancel!! yikes. i was double charged the pre-paid $250 cleaning fee between the internet company (who transferred fee to MetroRV) and Metro RV, which took about 20 emails and 4 calls for Metro to finally agree to pay back. Amazingly nothing else broke down on the trip, with the exception of the main door lock hinge, so we couldn't lock the RV. Joy! And the spare key being bent and therefore useless. Upon return there was a small (size of a quarter) scratch from a bike handle on the rack at the rear of the RV. Metro provide a quote from their own service dept of $359 including 2hrs at $120 /hr. As if the service guys are making more than $20hr. Rip off, and i was refused a 2nd quote from an independent provider. Finally, 'le piece de resistance' of my DISertation! Metro RV state return of the $1000 bond within 15 business days. I called the accounts department after 18 business days and nothing done, told they will process today but it may take 3-5 days to show up on the card. 5 business days later i check and sure enough no refund. Call them again and told "i'll call you back in an hour", no call back. Call again in the afternoon and the accounts person is at lunch, but the customer service person says she will do it, and i should relax and not worry about it. Get the sense i'm getting the run around. Here's a little diatribe of the conversation with the accounts dept. Called the next day at midday and told that it was processed an hour ago but it won't show up on your statement for 2-3days. Can you send me a confirmation, Sorry i don't have an email service. Their customer service department does. So now i wait again to see if it actually comes through. Finally it appeared 25 business days after the return. Why wasn't it done a week ago when you said you would run it then? Because their policy is to only return deposits to a set amount of what's left in their bank account, once it hits that limit the unpaid returns wait till the following week. The use it to cash flow their dodgy business. Ahhah! improper practice under fair trading, a breach of their lengthy rental agreement, no recourse for the customer but to be expected in this economy. Over and above the issues outlined, the customer service was dreadful, i felt like i had to earn the right to be a customer, anything i asked for was a hassle or met with resistance. The product quality for the money paid was poor. If your thinking of using Metro RV best avoid as it'll likely end up costing you more in time, stress and $'s than the bargain you were hoping for. read more

Broke down in a RV traveling from Phoenix to Seattle, called Metro about fixing it, was told to bring in early and they would start on it right away, they open at 8:00AM, I was there by 9:00AM. Waited around till 3:00PM before anyone pulled it into the bay to look at it, no urgency at all. I was told that I needed a part that they did not have, and they couldn't fix it that day. They called and told me that I needed a part that would cost $2200.00, and could be bought from Ford for $1300.00. The labor would be another $1000.00 for a total of $3200.00 out the door. Once they got the part, and slowly installed it, should have taken less than 4 hours, took all day to install. Final bill, $2800.00 for the part, and $1000.00 labor. I felt totally taken advantage of because I had very little, or no options at that point. Inflated pricing, labor and very slow! I did ask some of the staff even had a RV, nope non of them did! I'm going to join the most recent review here and say that I enjoyed my rental experience at Metro RV. I rented as a 1st-timer for a club camping trip that my son wanted to go on. I didn't know anything about RVs so Tony walked me through all the details with a pretty fair evaluation of the advantages & disadvantages of the models and we settled on the smallest 23' diesel unit and I put a deposit on it. They were accommodating in arranging a special time for me to view the instructional video (which is helpful) and when I picked up the RV, it was squeaky clean and ready to go. Everyone I dealt with there was very helpful. My RV ran great and we had a great time. I paid the $100 fee to have them deal with the tanks and cleaning afterwards - and that worked out well. I drove to Ventura and back for $35 diesel - which I thought was great. AAA wrote me a rider for the RV at no extra charge - so that was nice too. I do suggest you arrive at Metro RV with your own estimate of the miles you will travel as it will help you get an accurate quote. I'm expecting my deposit back pretty soon - so I can't comment on that part - but everything else that has happened was great and I will become a return customer. read more
