Internet/streaming speeds are great. BUT- They have the absolute worst team for install. We have had our line buried multiple times. I use that term loosely. They don't seem to know how to bury a line. Killed my grass, and the line is still exposed in multiple places. Even after they had to come replace and re-bury. IDK who they actually hire to come do that work, but there really do not care one bit. I was also told by them that they cannot guarantee the team they send out will properly bury the line because they contract it out. Said I can totally stand out there with them and tell them what to do or bury it myself. Price is great in the beginning, but will definitely go right up. Making it not worth the hassle. Metronet is adding service to neighborhoods in West Omaha. I have had service for about 1 month and a half and I've already called them for slow service more than I've called any other ISP in the last 20 years. I'm currently on day 2 of 1-2Mbps speeds which is unusable. Even worse is the customer service. I have yet been able to connect to a person using chat. On the phone they have recording say they know of an outage so please hang up. I've heard that same message about 4 times over the last month. The web site has zero alerts about service outages but when I did finally get ahold of tech support, she said there was an outage ticket. That's it, no explanation, no ETA. This is aggravating as Cox wants to charge $130/mo for no 1Gb service with no cap. CenturyLink wants to charge me $150 to plug in my existing modem to the wall for DSL (this was my previous ISP). read more

After having MetroNet for years, I finally decided to switch internet providers for better service & better price. Called to cancel my services & was told a box would be sent to my address. After 2-3 weeks of waiting called back & was told they do not send boxes & I am responsible for taking their equipment to FedEx to have it returned. They are now trying to charge me for another month of service even though I already called to cancel! If they communicated properly the equipment would have been taken to FedEx that day! read more

I switched to Metronet from Mediacom after they made a big deal about installing the fiber cable under ground all over our neighborhood. They had fancy sales guys going around trying to sell it to everyone, and they made it sound great. Internet service and speed has been good for the 18 days I've had it. Customer service is not good at all. There has been a cable lying in my yard, unburied, for nearly 3 weeks. I called the first time and they supposedly "escalated" the issue. This just meant I got 5 emails telling me my case was open. I'm on the phone with them again and they've expressed no urgency and given no apology and no one has any idea as to why it hasn't been buried. I don't know why all internet companies are so awful to deal with, but Metronet is no different. read more

The outages started almost immediately after the install. Averaged maybe a couple outages a week a few hours each outage. But then longer outages started several weeks back. I had 2 1/2 day outage that caused me to go out and purchase Verizon 5G WiFi backup service which costs me$30/month. After the service came back on three connection was up and down for a few days and then lost it for about 8 hours again. It came back for 4 hours only to go out for more than a full day and a half. I'll be switching back to Spectrum soon. I honestly don't understand how they stay in business. If you care about having a constant internet service stay far away from this company! read more

The first install went great and I had no issues. I love to a new home and now we're going on day 3 of someone trying to install my service. I cleared a weekend to have this done just to have to end up taking a day off of work because people don't know what the hell they're doing. The tech that came out to install wasn't professional at all, spoke 0 english and the day 2 left without any communication at all that he was leaving. After a combined 6+ hours of trying to figure out how to connect the service. Definitely should've stayed with Xfinity. I have had Metronet for two years after switching from Xfinity. without a doubt better than Xfinity but I am still not super happy and would switch if I could find better. I don't have the fastest speed but pretty fast. I am happy with that part. Customer service has also been pretty good the few times I have contacted. I have two grips: 1. when they did the install they only buried the cable like an inch below the ground. I do not exaggerate. The only reason I have not cut it is I know where it is. I bet anything the next owner of this house will cut it. 2. TOO many outage. I work from home on some days and I need to know I am gonna have a connection. I know the lines have been it by construction crews but then I have to consider maybe they buried all the lines like they did mine. so, not bad but lots of room for improvement. read more

Metro net help desk not helpful reporting the cable burial is a third party. they have no control over their schedule. they have no contact for me to follow up. Metronet Mason City IA. If you enjoy freezing picture, spinning screen and constant delays and the inability to load content for smooth streaming, then you'll love Metronet in Mason City IA. When it rains, spinning, freezing picture. When it snows, spinning freezing picture. Lines and equipment vulnerable to squirrels and other wildlife that chew and peck at wires etc...spinning and freezing picture. It's unremarkable and low quality at best and I'm being kind. I've taken my phone off the home internet because it's faster and more reliable if I use my connection with my phone service. We have 1 gig and it can't keep up with one TV. No other devices in use and it's freezing and spinning. We've contacted them several times with issues and it never gets fixed long run. Expect to have an issue every 90 days or so maybe sooner if you're using more than one device at a time. read more

How freaking long does it take this company to bury a cable line in our yard in Zionsville!!??? Today is July 29th. (Edited: Now August 2nd) Our line was installed July 3rd! My neighbor and I have had dozens of utility flags installed (no request was made to my neighbor!) and have been waiting over 3 weeks for their burial team to come bury the darn cable! My neighbor is understandably upset as neither of us can mow our yards without have to move & replace dozens of the flags. I've called Metronet "customer service" several times and they just say they'll "escalate it" with their subcontractor (LVI?? Can't find them on Google). Do yourself a favor and consider NOT getting Metronet. Between their regular prices increases and dreadful response to my repeated requests, there are better companies out there. read more

Absolutely the worst internet provider in this general vicinity. I have been without service for 6 days. I can assure anyone who reads this review that I've been and customer for over 15 years. This lousy service capitalized on a botched promise and has has failed to deliver any decent customer service and has mostly lied to cover up incompetence over the course of several years and to many neighbors in the Westfield/ Carmel area. The company could care less about customers and those of us who rely on the internet for our income as well as for us that need it for other health and safety. I wouldn't recommend this company to friends, family or my worst enemies. Don't think because it is fiber optic that it's the best service you can purchase. It's a shame that anyone has to put up with incompetency and lack of empathy from any businesses. Look into any any service and you will be glad you didn't buy into the METRONET fiber optic lie. Recently moved back into a metronet area from out of state. We had metronet internet in 2020-2021 and had a great experience, so we decided to get it again when we moved back 2 months ago. We've had nothing but issues these last 2 months. At random hours of the day our WiFi will disconnect, there have been multiple outages, and we have to unplug/reset our router weekly. Customer service is a complete joke. We contacted technical support and they transferred us to customer care... customer care said technical support could better assist us, so they transferred us back... Going to start Wi-Fi shopping tomorrow so we can have consistent service. read more

Looking to switch to another provider as I work from home yet if internet goes out it takes 36-48 hours to get someone out to fix. Apparently they have so many issues that they are literally booked that far out. This is the third time our internet has gone out and been down for more than 24 hours because they can never get anyone here the same day. Promised the cable would be buried in 7 days, on a call about the service being out I ask about the cable and they said " you aren't even on the schedule", after another call they said "they had no idea when it would get buried". I had Mettronet installed on August 22, although the internet service is very good, the customer service is deplorable. Almost 4 months have passed and the fiber cable is still laying on top of the lawn. I have called multiple times and every time I am told the request would be "elevated to expedited", and in spite of the fact the utility marking service has been out several times to mark utilities the line has still never been buried. Metronet would have 5 stars (FIVE) except for their customer service. I was without service for 40 hours. There was no way to call them and the phone rang busy for hours on end. The chat service was no help at all and disconnected me when I asked when it would be fixed. When I finally did get through via phone (2 DAYS LATER) they said my report was the first they had received. Our neighborhood was out 8 customers total. ALL HAD REPORTED THE OUTAGE BEFORE. read more

The actual service used to be excellent. The customer service is horrible now. On October 7th we returned the cable tv equipment, opting to keep the internet. Yesterday we received a bill for the internet and the cable tv. I called this morning to be told that I should pay the bill and they would credit me for the overcharge next month! NO! I'm not sure where these negative reviews are coming from. My name is Richard Suarez and I had Metronet installed yesterday. Jason, my tech, showed up 15 minutes early, called me and let me know he was on his way. When I told him I was at work and I couldn't get there until 1 pm he said "That's perfectly fine, I have line I have to run and that'll take me about an hour. Take your time. I know it's your work, and that's important." That set the tone for me right away. Jason was respectful of my yard, respectful of my property, and didn't seem to mind the mess of my roommate moving out with boxes and containers all over. He did his job, was friendly and chatted with me, even didn't mind the Rick and Morty I was watching while he installed my router and cable tv box. Unfortunately for Jason, he was lick-attacked by my roommates mini-pincher and he didn't mind in the least. The one issue was that Metronet's order department forgot to turn on my cable tv because they missed it in my online order. Jason called them for me and took care of it and had my tv service switched on. I purchased the 100/25 package for $49.99/month. Ran a speed test, didn't even approach those numbers, however when I started streaming Netflix and then played a little bit of Division 2 I didn't notice anything more than 9 milliseconds of latency. I'm not entirely sure where these negative comments are coming from. My bill is exactly what it said it would be. My installer, Jason, was awesome to me and my roommates dog, and I didn't have a single issue streaming HD movies/video games. Metronet, so far, has been a great purchase. read more

It reminded me of that South Park episode complete with over the phone nipple rubbing. Signed up when they were canvassing the neighborhood. I had some problems shortly after the installation and they had to come back out to fix it. A few days later noticed that while streaming I had problems with buffering and the speed was slow. Shortly after that the connection began failing completely requiring the modem to be restarted, again and again and again. Tech support said everything looked good on their end. This went on for a few more weeks before I threw in the towel. I paid for the month of intermittent service and returned the equipment. Now I'm getting letters saying that they want money for the installation. I called customer service and the guy continued to push for more money despite the fact that they never provided the speed or reliability I was promised when I signed up. It's not a new experience from the old service providers, it's worse. read more

Great customer service, excellent equipment, unbeatable high-speed fiber to the home, and channel switching that is immediate. I have only had one router that went out after 2 years and they promptly switched it out for me. Internet is everything you would expect on fiber, low pings, stable connection and no peak slowing like Comcast and Att, and the price blows them away! I won't be going back to them anytime soon and if I move I will make sure Metronet is available in that area! read more

Been dealing with internet dropping for 6 months. I have had several technicians out and they refuse to except that it is their equipment and not my router. I called customer service the day before and she ran a test and it showed the internet dropped before the router. They will not fix their problem. It's too expensive for the horrible service. Decided to switch back to Comcast because Metronet sold me on incredible internet speeds that NEVER existed. Their TV choices are absolutely horrible. Can't download CBS if I miss Survivor or Big Bang. It's not offered. The menu is hard to navigate and cumbersome. I have 2 phone numbers to port back to Comcast. After almost a week, Metronet won't release them to Comcast. All the representatives speak badly of Comcast (whose reps never have done the same about Metronet). My install is on the 15th of March and they won't release my numbers. We had a rude installer a year ago when they came to install their service. I can't wait to go back to Comcast - a company that is friendly and reliable with great customer service and state of the art technology. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM MEROTNET! I'll NEVER go back to them and am a Comcast customer for life! Metronet will trash your yard, home, speak rude to you and about other ISPs,(especially if you try to switch) and will treat your phone numbers like they own them. If Metronet ever sends a sales rep to your home, DON'T ANSWER THE DOOR or your experience could be as bad or worse than mine. read more

Great internet connection. Lousy service. Established my account in the summer of 2017. My line was not buried until Jan / Feb 2018 after calling several times. After the snow melted I discovered the line wasn't buried completely, there was about a foot of exposed cable in my front yard. As I write this now (end of May 2018, almost a year after starting service), the line is STILL not buried and I'm sitting here on hold with these guys who REFUSE to give me an ETA for the line to be buried. My lawn is covered with paint and flags and hasn't been mowed in over a week. Nobody is offering to do anything and they definitely aren't trying to compensate me for my trouble. Simply giving them a 3 star for the 1gb internet when it's working actually. Doesn't ever drop unless the fiber circle isn't in its perfect little circle. But, the real reason for this review is to talk about how their call center tech people are either kept out of the loop or just not trained well enough. My router has been having saw n issue with the WiFi dropping and restarting the whole router. So, I put an email in get a call from the center. They run some test can't get it to work so, I'm told I can take it to a service center 30 mins away to just swap them all good to go then right? Incorrect! No, because I have a WiFi extender as well and because of this I can't swap them but, when do I find this out? After driving out to said center. And because, they always seem to have a business issue 9 times a day(imo businesses should really think long and hard if they want fiber internet because, they seem to have a ton of issues anytime I need a tech.)they dont have a tech who can do it same day. Nor can I waste more time to go back home and bring said extendor with me to just even leave there at the center. No, it has to be a freaking tech to come out and swap my equipment because God knows why???? What do I get for my time wasted? $20 Credit to my bill... woo... thanks for wasting an hour of my time and gas to be told no swapping. read more
