I would call but no number I have found on the internet is in service. please tell your "cruise in" people that they need to lower the music. I am reading close to 100 decibels inside my home more than 50' away. Enough is enough. And a bunch of them have parked their butts in the build site next door, where there is an open foundation. The liability there is tremendous. This dumb show is disruptive, loud, people speed through the neighborhood, and theft upticks on the night of every single time. Although not very busy at 1:45pm, we had a wonderful late lunch and ice cream. Abbey was holding down the fort and did a great job taking care of everyone. My 18yr old had the Blackberry Smashburger and loved it! I had the coney dogs. The French Fries are great! Hand cut and perfectly cooked. I cared enough to write a review 9 months ago when I was so very disappointed. So only fair I share today's experience with new owners/leadership. I Was greeted With a hello upon entering the building, it was instantly obvious the efforts to clean, repair, & paint. Food was served quickly~ coney's were excellent and of course the ice cream was great. I liked the online payment option. Employees were Friendly, but I'd caution them To be careful~ their voices were easily heard sitting in a booth so all their personal conversations were heard. Overall it met my expectations and was reminiscent of going back to the 70's when it was consistently good. Once the staff goes through their growing/opening pains and stay the course I'm sure they will exceed our expectations. Looked for orange pineapple ice cream...... This is a review for the ice cream, purchased from the to-go counter, as I didn't try the food or sit-down dining. For years, whenever I visit Jackson, I stop by the Parlour for a double scoop of Blue Moon ice cream to go. I heard earlier this year that the Parlour had been sold to new owners and was concerned that it wouldn't be as good. But, I an happy to say the service was friendly and quick. Here in Michigan for a temporary duty. This spot was highly recommended by other co-workers! First visit was a disappointment! The pictures looked great on Yelp but actually look sub-standard in person. Looked dirty. We stood at the take-out line for an hour. Four sets of customers left because the line was taking so long. The employees were all young teens. Only one was taking customer orders upfront (Joshua). He did an awesome job. The manager was at the register and she saw a long line but didn't offer help or apologize for the wait and looong line! Never seen such a terrible manager. Options: so many options on the menu. There's something for everyone in my opinion. Ice Cream: got the Snicker Parfait. Soooo good. But I think they overloaded the caramel and fudge. Still good though. My friend got Caramel Carabou, I tasted it it was so tasty. If you like Caramel that's the one for you. They received two stars because manager was terrible and we waited over an hour. The Parlour is a yearly tradition for my family when we come to visit Jackson. There have been ups and downs over the years with ownership changes but the ice cream has always been top notch. I was very disappointed on this trip. The place was not busy. There were 9 of us in our party, half of them were done with their ice cream before the other half even received their ice cream. I normally overlook something like this if the product is worth it, and over the years the product always trumped the service. This time most of us were eating ice cream soup. It's disappointing when a staple of our yearly trips to Jackson has hit rock bottom. Until The Parlour of Jackson can step up their service and environment, we will not be back. read more

The Parlour has always held a special place in my heart. I live about an hour away, and for over thirty years, we have taken annual trips to Jackson just for ice cream, almost always with larger groups. Today, Saturday, we arrived around 2:00 PM with a group of 22. I tried calling multiple times over the past couple of days, but apparently their "phones were down." Although we were the only customers, the staff looked terrified. We sat down, and she asked me if we were wanting food and ice cream, and I said, "yes." About 10 minutes later she came back and asked for our orders. I told her that we would need menus before we could order. It took almost another 10 minutes for us to get our menus. In the meantime, two other smaller groups came in and got their orders taken. Someone brought water for about half of our group, then after waiting for another 10 minutes, and there being no sign of anyone coming back to take our order or give the rest of us water, I realized we would probably be here for several hours. I took a poll of our group, and we voted on going to Culver's instead. It made me very sad because I love this place. I've been coming for over 30 years, but unless I see reviews of things improving, I probably won't be back. read more

Absolute crap show! Horrible service. There was one waiter who was incredibly slow. I saw three groups of people get up and leave after sitting down because they were never greeted with menus, or they were informed that they were out of half of the items on the menu (I.e. no pizza or anything with chicken). A great family-fun experience! Even if you don't have a family tagging along, this ice cream parlor is a great place to visit. Upon entering, the restaurant wasn't even half full. By the time I left, people we're waiting to be seated. They have counter service, booths, (perhaps tables in another room), picnic tables outdoors, and of course, there is always the parking lot where many people arrive and depart by car. Take-out was very popular on this summer evening. During a Saturday, I visited to try out their legendary ice cream. I was a bit hungry, so I first ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. That took forever to arrive. It came with shoestring potato (fries) and a pickle. While eating my sandwich and as I looked about and saw the enormous amounts of ice cream being served to other patrons. Before my dish arrived, I started to wish I could take my leftover banana split home in a Doggy Bag. The huge portions were incredible! Somewhere along the way, I ordered a Junior Banana Split'. It arrived shortly after my sandwich plate had been devoured. At last, my junior banana split arrived in a large, round glass bowl. It was huge! Like XXL type huge! Wow, extraordinary. And not only was it large enough for 2 to share, it was exceptionally good. The large scoops of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream virtually pushed the two pieces of banana to opposite sides of the bowl. With chocolate and strawberry and caramel toppings, and crumbled peanuts, and whipped cream with a cherry on top, this was like no other banana split I had ever encountered. Honestly, it took me nearly at least twenty minutes and much closer to a half-hour to eat this junior-sized banana split. Of course, in my younger days, that task could have been accomplished in half the time. But I tend to enjoy the simple things in life as I step gingerly into my golden years, and enjoyment was all over my soul when I worked along the way to completion of this ice cream delight! I believe they offer Hudsonville brand ice cream here. With the many flavors offered (see photo of listing), there is something to excite everyone. I watched a young couple with a toddler near me. It was funny to watch the youngster's eyes get big and wide once he saw their ice cream dish arrive. Typical of babies, he started drooling in anticipation of that first bite. Actually, I almost did the same. For anyone passing through the area, this well-known establishment is a short jaunt from I-94, and worth the slight detour from your travels. I visit The Parlour once every summer with my kids since moving away from Jackson. I was very disappointed when we were there for our annual visit a few weeks ago. Where are the nice ice cream bowls and parfait glasses? We were served in plastic cups and white cereal bowls. No one uses gloves when making the ice cream or delivering it. Had my ice cream Sundae delivered and the waitresses thumb dipped into my hot fudge and she still dropped it off. I then watched behind the counter and no one used gloves when preparing anything and they touched multiple items with their bare hands before delivering it to customers.
