I was a client for a few years and today was treated horribly by staff members! My appointment was changed to a different time due to staff shortage. Another staff member called and said I had no packages left in my account, this is untrue! I buy packages of microneedling when they have bundle packages for certain holidays! I was confirmed on Tuesday 11/16/21 that I had one session of microneedling by a staff member who checked my chart as I scheduled a session for today 11/18/21. The person(s) I spoke to today had the nerve to say I had used more than what I paid for. What kind of unprofessional outfit are they running? This institute is very nice and the people are sweet, however their laser hair treatments haven't worked at all for me or my family. I have gotten about 8 or 9 treatments which is more than the estimate. The hairs have not gone away at all. Not even in the slightest. I went to every appointment consistently and on time. They keep a chart and notes for every appointment showing what they lasered off. One of their employees wrote that she had lasered my underarms (which she didn't). I noticed the next visit and asked her to do it but she refused to saying that she would get in trouble. The people are nice but the results are terrible. read more

******Review is strictly for laser services only. Will be updated periodically with each session***** I found out about this place through their Bloomspot deal. It was pretty easy to get an evening appointment within a week's time. The reception is nice and cozy with a well stocked fridge and a flat screen TV. The ladies at reception were also friendly and prompt. Here's where the not-so-good stuff comes in. My laser technician saw that I had a skin type 4 to 5. Despite that she opted to use IPL, which is a big no-no for dark skin. Not just that but IPL is very useless for laser hair removal, compared to *actual* lasers. I told her that IPL was contraindicated for my skin type and ethnicity and I'd like Yag (which is for people with skin types 4 to 6). How a laser tech could not know this is beyond me. She was very professional, friendly and nice though. So props for that. Once we got started, I could feel absolutely NO pain which is another no-no. The whole point of laser is that it hits the root of your hair underneath your skin--the melanin in dark hair is what helps the laser destroy the root. And that produces a rubber snap or pricking sensation of momentary pain with each hair root. The affected hair usually sheds within 1 to 2 weeks. I am over 3 weeks now and I have yet to see a single hair shed in the area. I called again to verify what the machine name was used and the settings so I could verify it with my dermatologist back home. But all I got was the brand name. They didn't even know what settings they had used me other than one parameter--which is really unhelpful and sort of shocking given they *should* be trained to know what those are and note them down. I am hoping my next time would be better. I still have 4 more to go and I hope they fix it. I will update the stars accordingly. read more

She respects modesty and is cognizant of pain sensitivity. - The office is more like a spa than a doctor's office. - The place smells like coconut. - I had no wait time! Only tricky thing is navigating to this place. It's in an orange-y shopping complex and is on the 2nd floor about Bombay Brasserie. This place scam I did microneedling with them and I got a lot of acne my face looks horrible I didn't breakout this much since i was 15 years old I kept calling them and they said it normal!!! No it's not I went to the dermatologist and another spa and both said microneedling helps you to improve your skin not to get that much of acne . I asked to see the doctor in the metropolitan med spa they said okay and when I went there the nurse talked with me not the doctor !! And she kept saying it's normal! This is my second time coming here by purchasing two Groupon deals. The first one I did a micro needling and was surprise it only took 10 mins for the procedure. The second purchase was a IPL Photofacial and that procedure only took two minutes. I thought those types of procedure should take at least 30 mins the least. I felt rushed and pretty much wasted my money both times. Won't happen again. I will say staff is nice. I guess I won't expect to see any results with half ass procedure. My first laser hair removal treatment was a dud as well. I have laser hair removal experience so when my technician stacey performed the hair removal procedure on me, I had a sinking feeling that it was not going to work for the laser and/or strength she was using. Three weeks apres treatment, no hair shed. I called back to let them know and they made the adjustment for me. I don't think the first treatment will be "comp" since it left no real treatment. Other than that, after the adjustment, I saw a huge improvement in less hair growth. This third time, I've been waiting for 50 minutes and no service yet!!!! My nanny has to leave in ten minutes!!!!! Because I've been waiting so long, I feel like I've been in an office meeting that Kathy the manager had been in. Her voice carries and I can hear discussing about another client's complaint. I have had all my 6 treatments of laser hair removal here, here is what to expect: You Will probably not be hairless (or even near hairless) after 6 treatments, no matter what they tell you. When I first went in, they told me 6 treatments is usually what it takes to see a significant hair reduction. Although I do see a hair reduction every time that I go, the hair does grow back in a matter of weeks. I did underarms, full legs and Brazilian, and all three areas have patchy hair growth. I would say on average about 40% of the hair is gone and has not grown back yet. However, it has only been about a month since my last treatment, and the hair still might grow back. Also if you're getting Brazilian and you want them to laser your back strip, you need to let them know as this is not standard for them. Some of the girls seem a little uneasy about getting up close and personal. As far as the staff, if you're thinking you're gonna find your ideal laser lady that you feel comfortable getting naked in front of, and you're going to always make appointments with her, well that's just not going to happen at this place. Every single time that I went in for treatment, I got a different person. Employee turnover seems to be high here, and you will likely get someone who is on their first days at the job and is not very knowledgeable. Their girls sometimes told me conflicting info about their procedures: while some of them swore their hair was gone after 3 sessions, others told me 6 sessions would never be enough. They also had their own versions as to what happens when the hair is lasered. The last girl I saw was bewildered when I told her my hair falls out and then grows back. She said she never heard that could happen, but then she has been working there less than a month and never did laser before. Scheduling was ok, but there were times when I didn't get a reminder call. At first they would email and call to remind me, then all of that stopped so I had to call and double check times etc. Once I showed up and they told me my appointment was an hour ago, so I showed them my appointment card and they were wrong. In conclusion, this place is probably not the best choice if you want to get laser hair removal mainly because of employee turnover and inconsistent information. I think the ladies there should really work to be all in the same page so that the costumers can trust the information provided. read more

However, Metropolitan was so far superior to all the others with respect to the professionalism and competency of the staff that I use them exclusively. They have frequent specials that are close to, or usually better than, others' prices so there's no need to shop around. I purchased a Living Social deal for for 8 LipoLaser treatments in January. I called to make my first appointment after my purchase and they couldn't get me in until 3 weeks later which was fine, they are busy-- understandable. At my first appointment, everything was good. My technician was good. She took her time with me. I booked two, three appointments at a time with the same tech but every time the schedule would change for some reason when I got there. A different tech would do my treatments, the time would change. Noone would know what was going on. Seemed disorganized. Finally, I spoke to my tech about it and she tried to help with appointment making and making sure that things were ok, but I notice that she was always rushing around, hurrying to another appointment, as she was booked 3 patients at a time. I noticed that my appointment times went down to like 15 min and I hardly saw her for the remainder of my treatments. So I just finished all my appointments last week (2 months later) and would have to say the Lipo Laser treatments DID NOT work in the end, such a waste. read more
