I had to travel up to Massachusetts on Monday and I was quite disappointed with the lack of a New England accent on anyone. We used to be a proper country. In any event, on Monday, I went to Mexica Burrito Grill. I met a man, on the line in front of me who insisted this place was good. I was skeptical because, I don't know this guy and why was he being so friendly? I ignored the warning signs and assumed he may be correct as he too was a husky gentleman. I ordered a burrito bowl with carnitas. I told them to include the rice and beans, because a man needs fuel that sticks to the ribs, along with double carnitas, cheese, and nothing else that sounded like it belonged in a rabbit's lunch. No vegetables, no salsa, no cilantro trying to ruin a perfectly good meal. They delivered. The carnitas were delish, properly seared, and tasted like actual pork that had been treated with respect (salt, heat, and time). The rice and beans did their job, simple, hearty, and not pretending to be anything fancy. No lectures about "fresh ingredients" or where the avocado came from. No one cares, Chad. Just a solid bowl of meat and starch, which is how God intended bowls to be used. I ate it back at the hotel with a black coffee and a pocketknife for portion control. Felt like I could split logs afterward. This is acceptable food. I may return. Highly recommended for men who understand that beef or pork are staples, with enough rice and beans to keep the machine running.

If you are looking for a cozy and warm place, this is not your restaurant. It has a huge interior and a very long bar, and if you want to see a sporing event, you have found your place with multiple large screen TV's playing all the live action. When we went on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was nearly empty and sounds echoed a bit. We were greeted by our server, Delmi M, and she brought out small containers of chips with some relatively mild salsa (neither were replenished during the meal). The service was slow, but relaxing, and since were were celebrating a birthday party for a granddaughter, that suited us just fine. Wow stuck to soft drinks and water, reasonable at $3.50 for soft drinks and quickly refilled as they were emptied. The dinner plates were more than enough for each of us, and the food was delicious but rather bland for a Mexican place. We had the following: Grilled Veggie Tacos, Veggie Enchilada, Chicken Chimichanga, Chicken Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos, and Blackened Salmon Tacos. The salmon was a real taste treat, as was the pork belly. One aspect of the meal that is a perpetual problem for me is that the server removed plates as people finished the last bite, leaving no silverware or plate for sharing what the more leisurely diners might not want to finish. The food was definitely good, and I am very sure that on a busy Saturday night or during a major sporting event, this place would be rocking. The murals on the walls were colorful and diverse in their appeal. If I were looking for a romantic and private experience, I would avoid 3 Amigos, but if I wanted to gather a crowd for a sports bart experience or a roomy place to gather, I would try it again. I would also like to feel I was in a place where the waitstaff was excited to see the clientele. Their attitude could have been due to a lazy Saturday lunch without much happening.

The atmosphere was great -- warm, relaxed, and really comfortable. We started with the chips and salsa, which I'd rate about a 7/10. Mild to medium spicy and tasty, definitely a solid start. I ordered the chile rellenos, (vegetarian)which came with rice and what I'm pretty sure were refried beans. there's a thin coating of batter over them and I'm pretty sure the waiter told me that it was gluten-free which is awesome. The rice was really good, and even though I'm not a big fan of refried beans in general ,the flavor was still nice. The chile rellenos themselves were pretty decent -- nothing spicy at all, so if you're someone who doesn't love heat, you'll enjoy them. I personally love spicy food, so I wished they had a little more kick only because I am a heataholic The best part of the visit was honestly the service. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was fantastic. Super accommodating with my food allergies, really friendly and funny, and our food came out extremely fast. Prices were moderate and felt fair for what we got. Overall, cute place with great service and solid food -- especially if you like milder flavors. I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu!

To my surprise, today it's back and just like original! My picture isn't great due to lightening but it's the same creamy peppery lemon sauce on a thin fried chicken. Heaven! Lots of changes on the new menu since my last visit! - pulled chicken and beef dishes - dip trios & sampler apps! - half orders of fajitas - mocktails Soo sooo happy with the changes and originals back! Even the drink sizes are back to their ginormous sizes! Love that they're going back to what everyone loved in the first place! Giving me Harvard Square vibes! Run don't walk!

They started us off right with complimentary warm tortilla chips and really flavorful salsa that had everyone at the table reaching for more. I ordered a cup of Louisiana gumbo to start, and it was rich, spicy, and delicious. For my main, the blackened chicken with rice and beans was spot-on: generous portion, perfectly seasoned, and super tasty. Our table also shared a half-size chicken fajita (solid and sizzling) and chicken enchiladas (good overall, though a touch salty). Our waitress was attentive and proactive, keeping refills coming and checking that we had everything we needed without missing a beat. If I'm ever back in Burlington, this is definitely a spot I'd hit again. Great value, big flavors, and handles crowds like a champ.
