A "Mexican restaurant" with identity crisis... as you walk in, there is a (1) "service desk" to your right (don't know what kind of service they offer or provide), () in the middle section is the ordering counter 1 where you order n pay, (3) and to the left is a Western Union-like desk where quite a few people are dealing w the clerk, apparently inquiring to send money or a wire transfer. The cashier was very friendly and helpful however the food (burritos) just didn't make the cut for us. We ordered 2 lengua (beef tongue) burritos at $12 each and the burritos are eatable but just OK at best. It is definitely not the best burrito I've had. Inside the burrito wrap is a mush of beans, then some lengua. Taste is quite bland and appears to be missing something taste-wise. Overall a very mediocre experience with mediocre food. Perhaps their other dishes are better but not sure if I'll come back to try again. read more

very friendly service, and the mango habanero ceviche was delicious. Overall good experience.

Wow this restaurant is dirty! We came to get a dinner on Monday night. We were the only customers at the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get 2 aquachiles. 4 tables were left with food and they never cleaned them off. The entire time we were there the staff didn't pick up finished dishes from 4 tables and cleaned them. The tables, chairs, windows are extremely dirty. You know if you see restaurant like this the kitchen will be a mess too. We asked for 2 waters but had to go ask them 2x before she gave us the waters. We asked for not spicy aguachile and got extremely spicy one. I'm married to a Mexican man so I know aguachiles. Where are the owners? How can you stay in business providing such a crappy job? We will definitely not be back. read more

I came here for the first time and as I approached the door I almost turned around and left. I stopped myself and said just try it. It doesn't look very clean and there's some computers set up in two corners of the place like an office. The staff is super friendly. My family ordered a few different items and their reviews are as follows Birria tacos - my son said they were very good I had street tacos and they were delicious My husband had a wet burrito and he didn't like it. He said it was meat and rice and an odd ball of cilantro in the middle. Maybe it was an off day for that particular item. But with a name like 'Mexican Burritos' you'd think they'd be the star of the show. My younger son had a bean and cheese burrito and he liked it. The michelada!! Mmmmm yummmy. Didnt have much beer tho. I wish they brought me the remaining beer in the bottle. read more

A place called "Mexican Burritos" (is there any other kind?) better be good. I do think the food is good. The burritos really are Mexican! Place is a little confusing to navigate, I think they've got too much going on here. And it's always packed. I'd give five stars if it was better run. But the food is definitely good. If you want a "Mexican Burrito" then this is a place you should try. read more

WHEEERE the F*CK do I begin??? SKIP. THIS. PLACE. READ. THE. OTHER. REVIEWS. Like a dumbass, I did NOT read them and wasted my damn money. This review is for their horrendous f*cking taco truck. Whenever I drive down Monument, I ALWAYS see people lined up at this food truck. Since the other food truck that I used to hit up has changed their hours, I decided to give this truck a try. WORST f*cking decision that I've EVER f*cking made!!! FIRST of all, this SH*T took waaaay too damn long! I feel like I lost years of my life whilst waiting there. There's nowhere to sit, so you must stand or walk around... or Gawd forbid that you must sit yo ass right on the ground. I ain't above it. So I did it. But after 30 f*cking minutes of sitting on cold concrete, my ass started to hurt. Where the F*CK are my tacos, bruh?? Why is it taking so f*cking long?? They finally call my name and I get up to get the tacos. Wasn't sure if there was any salsa on the plate, so I ask for some. This mutha f*cka gives me ONE tiny ass salsa. Like REALLY? The F*CK is that gonna do? At this point, I'm just ready to go. I drive home and take the foil off of the plate. I swear smoke came out of my ear. Without me even taking a bite, I knew these little sh*ts were gonna be dry AF. DRYYYY AS F*******CCCCKKK!!!! WHAT. THE. F*********CCCCKKKK!!!! Why did I wait over 30 MINUTES FOR DRY ASS F*CKING TACOS??? I was hangry so I started eating them anyways. Y'all... the meal was sooooooo mutha f*cking DRYYYY!!! Like, what were y'all doin' in there? Reheating the meat AGAIN?? I couldn't eat it. I could NOT. I was left pissed AND hungry. STILL. Ugh!!!! What kind of sh*t? NEVER EVERRR AGAIN!!! I won't stray from my taco truck again because look what happened. But what's crazy is... why are people lined up down the block for this sh*t? Like WHY?? You know what... I hope they keep doing it because I don't want them crowding my taco truck. If you know what's good for you, SKIP this piece of sh*t taco truck unless you wanna choke to death on some dryyy ass mutha f*ckin' tacos. Truth. read more

I have been going here for roughly 20 years, and even the taste of the food cannot save them from this horrible experience I had today. At first, the place looks alright inside, the same it has been every time I had been here, except with no seating due to covid. The floors look a bit dirty, but the flies buzzing around, landing on me and getting close to the food got me a bit annoyed. The food itself, still taste the same as it always does. This is my grandpa's favorite place to get burritos, and he always gets me either the Carne Asada or the Chicken burrito. They always made it the same way, so at least the food tasted alright. The lady making the food did not have any gloves on. I could not recall if she had a mask on, since I was annoyed with something more serious which I will describe below. She grabbed the handles of all her scoopers with her bare hands, along with the cheese they placed on top of the wet burritos. She did not wash her hands or use hand sanitizer when going from the food area to using the sharpie to mark the to-go containers. Now, the worst part of it was the customer service. I was in line first, followed by a white lady and then a Hispanic gentleman. After placing my order, I noticed they place the "guest check" order directions on the counter. Mine was first in line, followed by the white lady and then the Hispanic gentleman. At this point, I had waited about 20 min in the store just to place my order, and was getting a little restless. What started to make me feel super agitated was the fact the Hispanic gentleman got his food served and ready before me. We both ordered two wet burritos, but for whatever reason, he was allowed to receive his food and leave the restaurant before me. I then spoke with the white lady about this, and she too noticed that he got his food before us, despite ordering after both of us. Then, the white lady got her food before me, and she (white lady) told me that she feels super bad that I even have to wait after her. I finally got my order about 10 more minutes later, and just had to leave. I cannot prove anything too much, but I have witnessed with my own eyes, and after speaking with the white lady, that this establishment seems to cater to a certain group of people over others. I have never experienced this before, and I remember the workers who has helped me all this time. I was not expecting this to occur, but at the same time, sort of saw it coming. The only reason I even go here was because my grandpa always went and got a burrito from them. Today was my grandpa's remembrance day and I wanted to order and eat one in honor of him. At this point, I will only go here once a year, and only because I am doing it for him, and not for the food and service anymore. read more

This review is for their taco truck that's parked outside of Foodmaxx: Went tonight and I left disappointed. I ordered 4 tacos total: 2 al pastor, 1 steak, & 1 chorizo. The tacos were bland, as in the meat didn't have much flavor, the salsas were inconsistent as only one of the pastor tacos had spicy salsa (on all the other tacos the salsa wasn't spicy at all), and the tortillas weren't cooked all the way. Aside from the food, the service wasn't all that great either. The man taking our order wasn't very welcoming and when he gave us our order, he didn't give us any napkins or limes. They also didn't have any water bottles but had a large selection of sodas, so that was cool. However, the undercooked tortillas were definitely the most disappointing part of the visit as it just threw off the whole experience. read more

$2.00 for street taco Carna esada tasted gamey. Not just steak in it but couldn't pin point the odd flavor. Taco salsa was too too Spicey and took over the taco . Burned my mouth in not a fun or tastey way. Unpleasant. Won't be back for tacos but the burritos looked good. Next time a burrito w no salsa. read more

Location: a couple of blocks from where I work about 2-3 days per month. Ambiance: who cares...... Price: good: Service: the staff behind the counter was pleasant. When I ordered Tacos al Pastor, one of their many meat choices, he asked if I had 5 minutes for him to prepare it. I agreed. He cooked the meat to order, asked me if I wanted "everything" on the taco. Yes! He spoke English to me the whole time. I do look like a Gringo. (Pero soy aleman.) Food: Ok, here's my issue. Whereas the freshness and quality of meat and other ingredients was fine, the flavor was lacking. Despite adding lots of salt and pico de gallo, the overall meat/condiment mixture had no flavor. Since the flavor is the most important issue, especially in this type of establishment, this taqueria doesn't measure up... read more

Tacos de carne asada...on point! This is the only item on the menu that I tried. It's a tiny spot- no where to eat. Tables were filled when I got there but perfect to order your food and take it to go. Good portion of carne asada on 2 corn tortillas and the salsa was to die for. Wondering why I just ordered two...should have ordered three they were that good! It's conveniently located next to a coffee shop/bakery, tortilleria and a Mexican souvenir shop. read more

We recently used them to cater a party, well rule #1 folks is arrive ON TIME, not 20 min past the hour our guests were supposed to already be eating!!! which means while we wait for your to set up it is not 35-40 min past the time we paid for. Service was fine after that, but as caterers they need work on getting on time to the places! It was no fun explaining to our hungry guests why the food had not arrived yet. I dont think I would use them again. read more

the meats are preprepared in food trays for a scoop and wrap operation. the tortilla wrap wasn't preheated. but is later pressurized to warm it. -the super(5.45) had a gravy sauce poured on top with some cheese added, nice touch. the chile verde pork was tender but not very flavorful, true of the entire burrito. individual chile relleno(3.25), enchilada(1.95) are also available. horchata (1) this taqueria offers cheap eats and has a large sit down area; there is also mex music to eat by. not very tasty but a lot of food. read more

Mexican Burritos - Carnitas burrito Mojato ($7.50) - Mexican Near Me - Concord, California

I have been going to Mexican Burritos since I was a child (early 1990's). I used to eat at the Mexican Burritos in Pleasant Hill, right across the street from the old Grand Auto. But when they tore that area down to build a new theater and shopping center, I was forced to travel the extra four minutes to Monument Blvd to eat at their Concord location. I have been eating at this location for approximately 10 years. Same 'ole same 'ole. Clean restaurant, fresh food, amazing flavor, and a great price. I usually get the super burrito w/chicken or the nachos coupled with a steak taco. Amazing! I believe the manager has been there 20+ years, and two other workers have been there at least 10 + years each. 40 years of service at one location between 3 employees.... .... that's a feat amongst itself. If you are looking for the BEST MEXICAN FOOD north of San Francisco then this is the place. Bring cash and a hungry appetite. Cons: Cash only, location is not in an ideal area read more

30 minutes plus for a burrito!!!! NO! Do not go there. We stopped there since missed the 8:00 pm close time from El Molino. Though might as well give them a try and NO! Place is filthy, service is bad, and just overall not happy... $22 for a low quality burrito and quesadilla. Pfff read more

It's all about the burrito! Forget about all 'authentic' places around town that tone down the food for the gringo taste. Head over to Mexican burrito in Concord for the best fast Mexican this side of the tunnel. Great carnitas, el pastor and other traditional meats that is just as good! This place is very straight forward, small order counter, two small sit down areas and typical Mexican beer! Nothing better in my money! read more

I first found this place back in 1995 when I went to DVC. Actually my friend Mark took me here after we worked out. This became our weekly ritual eating super burritos which is a great deal. I remember when it was located in Pleasant hill before they tore it down to make the new downtown Pleasant hill area. The owner is this little old man who is very kind and the food is great. Chicken Nachos is a huge serving as well as their super burritos. Every time I go there I order the Chili Verde super burrito along with a cup of jalapenos. If your looking for a quiet great place for Mexican food, then this is a place you should check out. There are other Mexican spots on Monument Blvd, but this place has a distinct taste that makes me always want to come back for more. read more

My overall experience with Mexican Burritos is positive, however it wasn't amazing and even with the lingering taste of the burrito and rice still stuck in my mouth, it wasn't very memorable. The service was fast and they got my order right. I got the carne asada special burrito, which is a wet super burrito. I had my food to go, and it was expertly packed for me. The burrito itself suffered what many of the burrito places in Concord suffer from -- dry and bland. The rice was a good texture but it might have well have been white rice. The meat wasn't greasy, which was a nice change, and there wasn't much fat on it. It was a little burnt which added a nice texture to it, but overall it was still very dry. I think this place would be greatly improved with a salsa bar. Also, I think I would have enjoyed it more if it was warm instead of room temperature. read more

Points for having molcajete. I will not pretend to be an expert on molcajete, however I have craved it ever since eating a warm bowl on a cold Mexican evening years ago. The molcajete here is very satisfying, however difficult to eat without creating a mess. More points for tasty micheladas on a Sunday morning. The tacos were serviceable but they have a surprisingly spicy and filling habanero mentada covered in beans. I didn't think the beans would work, but they do. Simplistic and genuinely local. read more

Good mexican food and reasonably priced. The different meats are flavored well - and taste authentic. The wet burrito and the torta (hot sandwich) are good. If you want a burrito, just a burrito, and you don't care about the customer service or any bs like that, than go to Mexican burritos. The simplicity of the name says everything. Thats exactly what they make; Mexican burritos. I love their burritos! The mole or enchilada sauce or whatever it is they put on top of them is awesome. The meat is good. I have had the chicken and the carnitas. They are cheap, only $5.45 for a burrito with everything. And they are fast. I can grab a burrito and be back to my house in Walnut Creek in like 15 minutes. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! They have the BEST, spuer wet burritos in Concord. I tell every about this tiny hole in the wall. THey have been here for more than 15 years!!! They used to have another location on Contra Costa Blvd, by nations, but when they remodeled that part of town, Mexican BUrrito did not re open. This place only takes CASH. But it is sooooo worth it. The burritos are now $5.99 before tax & are HUGE!!! I always get sauper wet carne asade burrito. They do have great chimichangas & carnitas. Their beans & rice are delicious. They make your burrito, then they put it into a steamer & give it a quick steam, so good!! You must all try this place. It is in the same shopping center as the bowling alley on MOnument, but it's on the end of the building that faces Reganti. You must try this place! read more

Theres a guy here that is very unprofessional. My wife and I have eaten here once. And ordered food to go multiple times. She makes the order first. And then i go pick it up. So he takes her number and calls her while I was with her. And she told me who it was. He even insisted that she call him back when "shes not busy" so they can talk. Of course my wife does not call him back and tells me everything. Very ILLEGAL for an employee to take someone's phone number from an order and calls them back just to hook up. First time here. Had the Special Al Pastor Burrito. Pretty cheap price. I like their sauce on the burrito and inside the burrito. I would try their tacos next time. read more
