I came here for the first time and as I approached the door I almost turned around and left. I stopped myself and said just try it. It doesn't look very clean and there's some computers set up in two corners of the place like an office. The staff is super friendly. My family ordered a few different items and their reviews are as follows Birria tacos - my son said they were very good I had street tacos and they were delicious My husband had a wet burrito and he didn't like it. He said it was meat and rice and an odd ball of cilantro in the middle. Maybe it was an off day for that particular item. But with a name like 'Mexican Burritos' you'd think they'd be the star of the show. My younger son had a bean and cheese burrito and he liked it. The michelada!! Mmmmm yummmy. Didnt have much beer tho. I wish they brought me the remaining beer in the bottle.

The food truck. Hella people waiting and it wasn't even good :(

WHEEERE the F*CK do I begin??? SKIP. THIS. PLACE. READ. THE. OTHER. REVIEWS. Like a dumbass, I did NOT read them and wasted my damn money. This review is for their horrendous f*cking taco truck. Whenever I drive down Monument, I ALWAYS see people lined up at this food truck. Since the other food truck that I used to hit up has changed their hours, I decided to give this truck a try. WORST f*cking decision that I've EVER f*cking made!!! FIRST of all, this SH*T took waaaay too damn long! I feel like I lost years of my life whilst waiting there. There's nowhere to sit, so you must stand or walk around... or Gawd forbid that you must sit yo ass right on the ground. I ain't above it. So I did it. But after 30 f*cking minutes of sitting on cold concrete, my ass started to hurt. Where the F*CK are my tacos, bruh?? Why is it taking so f*cking long?? They finally call my name and I get up to get the tacos. Wasn't sure if there was any salsa on the plate, so I ask for some. This mutha f*cka gives me ONE tiny ass salsa. Like REALLY? The F*CK is that gonna do? At this point, I'm just ready to go. I drive home and take the foil off of the plate. I swear smoke came out of my ear. Without me even taking a bite, I knew these little sh*ts were gonna be dry AF. DRYYYY AS F*******CCCCKKK!!!! WHAT. THE. F*********CCCCKKKK!!!! Why did I wait over 30 MINUTES FOR DRY ASS F*CKING TACOS??? I was hangry so I started eating them anyways. Y'all... the meal was sooooooo mutha f*cking DRYYYY!!! Like, what were y'all doin' in there? Reheating the meat AGAIN?? I couldn't eat it. I could NOT. I was left pissed AND hungry. STILL. Ugh!!!! What kind of sh*t? NEVER EVERRR AGAIN!!! I won't stray from my taco truck again because look what happened. But what's crazy is... why are people lined up down the block for this sh*t? Like WHY?? You know what... I hope they keep doing it because I don't want them crowding my taco truck. If you know what's good for you, SKIP this piece of sh*t taco truck unless you wanna choke to death on some dryyy ass mutha f*ckin' tacos. Truth.

I have been going here for roughly 20 years, and even the taste of the food cannot save them from this horrible experience I had today. At first, the place looks alright inside, the same it has been every time I had been here, except with no seating due to covid. The floors look a bit dirty, but the flies buzzing around, landing on me and getting close to the food got me a bit annoyed. The food itself, still taste the same as it always does. This is my grandpa's favorite place to get burritos, and he always gets me either the Carne Asada or the Chicken burrito. They always made it the same way, so at least the food tasted alright. The lady making the food did not have any gloves on. I could not recall if she had a mask on, since I was annoyed with something more serious which I will describe below. She grabbed the handles of all her scoopers with her bare hands, along with the cheese they placed on top of the wet burritos. She did not wash her hands or use hand sanitizer when going from the food area to using the sharpie to mark the to-go containers. Now, the worst part of it was the customer service. I was in line first, followed by a white lady and then a Hispanic gentleman. After placing my order, I noticed they place the "guest check" order directions on the counter. Mine was first in line, followed by the white lady and then the Hispanic gentleman. At this point, I had waited about 20 min in the store just to place my order, and was getting a little restless. What started to make me feel super agitated was the fact the Hispanic gentleman got his food served and ready before me. We both ordered two wet burritos, but for whatever reason, he was allowed to receive his food and leave the restaurant before me. I then spoke with the white lady about this, and she too noticed that he got his food before us, despite ordering after both of us. Then, the white lady got her food before me, and she (white lady) told me that she feels super bad that I even have to wait after her. I finally got my order about 10 more minutes later, and just had to leave. I cannot prove anything too much, but I have witnessed with my own eyes, and after speaking with the white lady, that this establishment seems to cater to a certain group of people over others. I have never experienced this before, and I remember the workers who has helped me all this time. I was not expecting this to occur, but at the same time, sort of saw it coming. The only reason I even go here was because my grandpa always went and got a burrito from them. Today was my grandpa's remembrance day and I wanted to order and eat one in honor of him. At this point, I will only go here once a year, and only because I am doing it for him, and not for the food and service anymore.

taken on 03/09/2021. looks to be under new ownership. The lady seems very nice.

**Cash Only** Tacos 1.Chile Verde was tender and full of flavor. 2.Carne asada. Special shrimp burrito, filled with re fried beans, rice, bell peppers and onions, this is a wet burrito a special sauce is poured on top and drizzle with cheese. Over all the portions are on the larger side so come with an appetite I think the chile verde is the way to go next time I come here. tres 31 doze

The zucchini was cooked perfectly and not overcooked or soggy at all, which made the whole burrito taste fresh and flavorful. We also got the appetizer with the chips, zucchini, arugula, and cheese and that ended up being one of my favorite dishes. Everything paired together really well and had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also tried the mango margarita with tajín on the rim and really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet. Super refreshing and balanced. The Dude ordered the chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and really enjoyed those as well. Customer service was also really good. They checked on us periodically throughout the meal and everyone was friendly and attentive without hovering. Overall the restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and comfortable. Definitely a spot we would come back to again. Especially a lot of vegetarian options ! Vegetarian approved!!!

There's a ton of seating inside, and everything is very spacious. Though, I do have to say it always feels incredibly empty for some reason and there's never anybody actually inside outside of a few tables, but they do have tons of takeout so perhaps that's the tradeoff. However, don't let the lack of eating patrons inside the place put you off. This taqueria offers a good variety of different options as any taqueria would offer, and many of the options have pictures and stuff with it. The service here is, kind of hit or miss. The people in the front usually aren't overly friendly, and will sometimes feel like they're just there until the clock turns work over. Sometimes they're bordering on rude as they just kind of give you an indifferent stare as you're ordering, or will just feel as if they're half listening and not even looking up. The service was a bit better when I dined in, so perhaps maybe it's just the takeout, although it's usually the same person for both. Price wise, it's certainly not going to be cheap. If you want the best bang for your buck around here, El Aguila probably won't be it as there's a plethora of taquerias in this area. Food quality wise, it's pretty good overall. There are some tasty dishes here that will certainly warrant the little bit of extra cost here compared to other places. Things that I have tried here are the burritos and the torta. The burritos here are yummy as they they will have ingredients inside the burrito that is slightly different than your cookie cutter burrito at any other place. It really does help adds layers of flavor to it that other places do not offer. However, the best part of it is indeed the fact they grill the outside of the burrito to get that nice flakiness that wrap, and makes it a oh so rewarding experience. Meat portions was okay, but wish it had more especially for the cost. The torta I got was pretty good, as the ingredients inside were pretty typical so nothing really stood out. The break was toasted well, but I do wish it was a bit softer as it may have been to toasted. Should be toasted outside and soft inside, but this one just felt toasted all over. The meat portion also suffers from the same issue as the burrito as that it's not as generous as it could be. However, the flavors and taste were fine. It's certainly a nice place for those who want a bit of a different style of their Mexican cuisine. They have some flavors here that will be atypical of most of the cookie cutter taquerias around. While they are a bit expensive comparatively, the portions are actually decent (minus the meats). You can certainly be filled with just a single burrito. Worth a visit.

A Great Weekend Lunch with Flavorful Dishes and Amazing Warm Dips…read more We had lunch here on a weekend and found plenty of tables available both inside and outside. Don't let the underwhelming plaza and ambiance fool you--the staff are great, and the food itself is incredibly flavorful and tasty. As soon as you are seated, they immediately serve you warm tortilla chips alongside salsa and a warm, cheesy bean dip that is absolutely amazing. The entrees completely delivered on flavor: * Wet Super Burrito: I got this with steak, and it was delicious. It comes loaded with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. My only minor critique is that the guacamole was just okay, and hopefully they can improve that flavor in the future. * Ground Beef Enchilada: My son got this, served with rice and beans. It came out perfectly warm, very flavorful, and he absolutely loved it. * Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas: My wife ordered these, and they were served on a fantastic, sizzling skillet. To drink, we ordered a pitcher of frozen margaritas, which was nice and refreshing. We also finished the meal with the flan for dessert, which was not bad at all. Our only real complaint was a situational one regarding the outdoor seating. The wind was causing the outdoor drapes to repeatedly hit the metal frame, creating a loud, disturbing noise throughout our meal. Aside from that background noise, it was a wonderful lunch. If you are looking for excellent flavor and great service, this place is well worth the visit!

I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.
