Went once, not going back. A/C down, they did not even tell you as you entered. Taco Salad was put under the heat lamp, and the lettuce was all messed up with warm sour cream. Order Returned. Then Ordered a simple taco, greasy and tasteless. Chips on stale side, salsa not cold. Sorry Mexicano Grille. Not impressed. Plus the ladies restroom was very dirty and smelly. Broken glass over the parking lot. This place has the potential to be better. Nix the heatlamps for foods with sour cream/guacamole, etc. OR as most places can do, put those items on a separate plate/bowl away from heat lamp. Clean off tables better before next set of customers. Wipe down the plastic sticky menus. Keep your a/c in working order, and clean the bathrooms. Plus, your staff was very friendly. Probably the best Mexican food my husband and I have had since moving from California. Very good flavors and the steak was very tender

We just moved to Jarrell and we LOVE Mexican food so we were sooo excited to learn there was a little mom and pop type Mexican restaurant right by us. Our first experience here we were waited on by a young lady, nice enough, but never saw her. We wanted to have some dinner and margaritas but couldn't get our second round, so we ended up just paying out and leaving. Come to find out she was on the other side of the wall the whole time talking to a regular with a few other servers. Second time we decide to give it another go because we really wanna like it here. We sit at the bar this time thinking we will get better service.. we were wrong. It took about 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge us, not even the bartender, who wasn't behind the bar. She then had some regulars sit down and she spent the rest of our visit on her phone, texting and talking to them. We had to talk over her and her friends to get another drink. Fast forward to today. We sit down, greeted in a timely manner. Order our appetizer and drinks. After waiting 15 minutes for the appetizer, a manager (I guess? He didn't say, nice guy though) comes out to tell us that they are out of chorizo. My boyfriend and I are both restaurant managers, so we get it, but it's disappointing that it's 3/3 strikes. Side note: We do keep coming back because the margaritas are delicious. Also, you can tell there are hard working servers here; we are just never lucky enough to get one. One, I believe her name was Jessica, greeted us for our server the first night. Second time, a nice young man sent the bartender to us when he noticed us looking around. So we aren't counting this place out, but we hope to see some changes. read more

I was initially excited for a Mexican restaurant right down the street from us. I was immensely let down. The food was big time eh. It took 4 separate trips in the drive thru line to finally get all of our food. And turns out, we didn't actually get all of it. The one thing they did get right was the drinks to go. This spot is so TASTY!! They give you a lot of food too. Usually when i go out to eat places portion sizes are troublesome because prices dont mach up, but here at the grille and bar you get what ur expecting. My favorite food item is the volcano or something like that, it has meet fillets, cheese, bell peppers and mushrooms I think it also came with plantillas, rice, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Although it can get pricey it is very worth it. You would be so lost in flavor you end up spending 50 bucks The entree's themselves aren't expensive, I consider the price range very comfortable. The staff was very nice, i went pre covid, and the last time i went there we ordered drive thru, they were still really nice and even go to share some laughs. Alfredo used to be the best. But now he's so obsessed with the female bartender that his service has faltered. We gone 3 times and yet still the same problem. Super disappointed about my dine in experience I had yesterday. I ordered the vegetarian quesadilla which is supposed to come with bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and spinach. After a few bites I noticed there were no peppers but it was loaded with broccoli and carrots.. I'm not typically a picky person, but it would have been nice to have been informed what was being substituted in my meal so I could have ordered something else. read more

This place has gone down hill. Used to have awesome beef fajita but now it's chewy and the poorest quality beef. The chicken fajita is often filled with fat as well. My most recent visit made me decide to not go back anymore. I order a beer and waited, and waited, and waited. I watched as a table sat down 20 minutes after I ordered my drink and within 2 minutes they were given three margaritas. At this point I got up to complain and was ignored by the many wait staff that were hanging about doing nothing. When I finally got my waitress I told her to cancel my drink order because at that point I was ready to just leave. Despite saying this, 25minutes after I had ordered the drink, they bring it out to me and I again tell them I don't want it any more, I want to go. The place was not busy at all. They did not apologize, they did not try to make things right, they offered no explanation as to why it took 25minutes to bring out a beer all the while other people are getting served and waitstaff are milling about all over the place. read more

In small town Texas, there's a common theme among Mexican restaurants. A lot of these Mexican restaurants serve both classic Tex-Mex favorites for the native Texans and more authentic recipes for those of Hispanic heritage. Usually, these places fail at one part of the menu or the other. Mexicano Grille doesn't. My dining companion raved about her border-style grilled dish while my crispy tacos were able to compete with any other Tex-Mex establishment. The service was friendly and very accommodating. And as an extra surprise for small town Texas, they are open late. (10 PM most days, 12 AM on Friday, and 11 PM on Saturday). read more

Waitress never came to us while we were eating to ask of we needed any refills on drinks, she just sat at a table with other staff just chatting away. Think twice before ordering. Chef special Pina Hawaiana is a rip off! Especially for 18.99 and no sides. The pork that's supposed to be inside is next to nothing. Chopped in tiny bits but filled with bell peppers onions and pineapple chunks all covered with cheese. My wife had more meat in her lunch special, which I probably shouldn't say anything about because then the might skimp people out on that too. read more

So yesterday I was all pumped up for some good texmex and I stopped by this place called coronas de oro which long story short was pretty darn awful. So today I'm driving to austin and starving again like usual and I see this bold yellow sign in the sky that says el mexicano grill definetly made me want to stop and give texmex food one more try. So I pull up to the place and right off the bat as I'm walking in people are laughing and partying on the front deck so good sign so far. Instantly as I'm walking in the door I'm greeted by a cute latin girl ( took 5 minutes to get greeted at coronas de oro ) and she asks me if she could sit me. I chose to eat at the bar because the bar looked nice with a big tv to watch the game. A hott bartender walked up and I ordered their "so called" famous mango margarita. When she brings it up to me it looks delicious right off the the bat and she sliced a big piece of juicy mango and put it on the glass. It ended up tasting as good as it looked and I was very pleased ( rarely happens lol ) so I decided after that what the hell I might as well order the same meal too that I did at coronas. I ordered the fajita plate which came with shrimp too. So as I'm waiting for my meal which only took 10 mins compared to a hour at coronas , the sweetest nicest lady came and talked to me and gave me some chips and salsa. The chips and salsa ended up being the top 3 I've ever had and I'm from san antonio tx too. So my meal comes and it looks delicious ( I'm foaming at the mouth ) the fajitas ended up being so tender and mouth watering, the shrimp had a awesome flavor to it, the charro beans and rice ended up being really good unlike the no flavor ones I had at coronas, the tortillas were hand made and the avacado was fresh and ripe too. So I end up ordering fried Ice cream for desert and that too was really good. If all that wasn't enough the owner comes up to me and asks me about yhe food and everything....he ended up being a really cool guy and without even asking him he discounted my meal in half just because he wanted my business again....now that's how you run a business....its refreshing to see a owner who cares about customer service. read more

Service was a little slow. My hubby likes his water & the manager had to refill our water & our chips and the place was not busy at 2:45! Food was just okay. Chicken fajitas had no taste. I was very disappointed by Mexicano Grille's "management" I have visited the restaurant for many years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. But on Tuesday July 3,2018 myself and 3 friends came in after the restaurant had been hit with a busy dinner rush before firework show in Jarrell. The service receive by the server was not great to say the least. But what really thru me for a loop was when a Cockroach came out and crawled on the wall of the booth behind us the gentlemen sitting there asked to speak to manager, the manager never arrived. Moments later the ROACH then came over to the booth we were sitting at causing us to jump startled out of our booth. The server killed the roach, and we asked to speak to a manager. 45 minutes later, after our meal a "manager"showed up, she asked me "what kind of roach it was" as they had just had pest control out and she said water bugs were still there.. blah blah giving excuses as opposed to apologizing for our experience. Im not easily scared by a roach as I have worked in restaurants and know its inevitable but the service was ridiculous this person who was left in charge sat there and argued with us and escalated a situation that could have easily been avoided. Not only that but a man stood up from the bar claiming to be co owner of the restaurant and told us to leave that he would have left as soon as the roach came out and that we were just looking for a free meal. He yelled at us and of course we yelled back suffice to say causing a scene in the restaurant. Then we later found out he wasn't an owner and the girl who came to our table wasn't even a manger but as she claimed "someone who lived with the owner" I will NEVER ever be going back here and would say to the owner of this place that you have a lot of work to do and am not surprised the store in Georgetown tx closed. The people of Jarrell deserve better. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. They have the best most authentic Mexican food in this area. We dine here at least once every 2 weeks...would be more often but we live a few towns away. Our whole family enjoys this place and our kids request to come here for birthdays. I highly recommend their chicken chimichangas and quesadillas!!! read more

Despite that the service was less than stellar, the food wasn't piping hot, which is how Texans expect their Tex-Mex, and generous quantities of fresh tortillas; the fajitas were probably some of the best tasting fajitas I've ever had; and I'm a 60 year old Texan that considers himself a Tex-Mex aficionado and had tex-Mex from border to border. A large quantity is fajitas was served with only 2 small tortillas, 2 more were only 69 cents, so most was forgiven, although most reputable places they would have not cost anything. Even though these things are minor to me, they would be inexcusable to many Texans. I felt the prices were good, total bill of $36 before tip, which included 2-24oz beers and a large frozen margarita, which was very good BTW, fajitas $13.99. The minor, but important points mentioned, cost them aa 5 star rating, which I'm usually quick to give, and my usual 20% tip. After all that I'd have to say I'd go back in a minute because I thought the overall cost was good and I loved the food. read more

Stopped in tonight after dove hunting. Ordered a couple drinks and the waiter tells us they have to scan our drivers licenses per TABC rules. Haven't confirmed yet if that's true but we go out to eat often and usually order a drink and have never had anyone mention scanning our license. With all the fraud going on I'm not about to let someone scan my DL and have all my info minus my social, then after dinner have my credit card info. Waiter seemed a little sketchy as well which left us feeling even more uncomfortable. Sounds sketchy to me, just sayin..... On top of all that, their margarita machine was broken. However it was good that I had my husband was there to translate for me because our waitress couldn't answer any questions I had about the menu because she didn't speak English well enough.
