I ordered $75 worth of food and drinks on seamless and after an hour and 15 minute wait, the food and drinks were disgusting. My shrimp cocktail had a rotten shrimp in it. The two margaritas I ordered on the rocks, were clear in color. They had no lime juice in them at all - it was like simple syrup and straight-up well tequila. I had to spit the drink out in my sink, it was so foul. The chicken quesadilla appeared to have cream cheese in it, as opposed to queso fresco, and the chicken was like giblets. Mexico2000 belongs to stay in the year 2000! i personally did not have a good time here despite the gorgeous back yard and colors. they charged us for random food and drinks that we did not order and there is a clear language barrier with english amongst a majority of the staff. the way they take orders is not efficient and a bad POS system which could explain the price they charged our table. the food was a miss and i wouldn't recommend the taco. the service also took forever for the food to come out and drinks were pretty watered down. i had much better mexican food and don't recommend this place there's much better spots. read more

Not sure what all the hype is about. Must be the hookah (which we didn't try). We waited forever to be seated and the line kept getting longer behind us. They had no waiting list or system to seat everyone, so the entrance was a crowded mess. If you still decide to go there after reading my review, be sure to make a reservation, especially on a weekend. DO NOT use a Pulsd voucher, as they will not honor it. The manager/owner told us he doesn't know why the voucher exists because they are not involved with pulsd and has told them multiple times to take it down. I also checked in on yelp and a voucher for a free shot popped up. After giving us another story he eventually honored the yelp voucher. This place is pretty big. There's indoor table seating, seating at the bar, and an outdoor patio. The staff communication is terrible. 30 minutes after being seated and no one had come to take our order, but once our order was taken here come 3 other waitresses. The food and drinks took forever. Seems as if they might have been short staffed or just couldn't handle the crowd. The food was definitely not worth the wait. The beans smelled as if they had gone bad and the meat for the fajitas just wasn't good. The seafood dish also didn't give what it was supposed to give. We left annoyed and unsatisfied. I'm not sure exactly why, but the name Mexico 2000 intrigued me so I figured I'd give it a try. The guac and salsa were fresh and flavorful, although I wish the chips were a bit warmer and fresher when they came out. The Ezquites though was the real star of the show, and I immediately tried looking up how to make the dish at home, but when I tried the next day it definitely didn't taste as good. The flavored margaritas were also very good, from the strong but delicious drink itself, to the sweet and salty rim, to the unique garnishing for each flavor, I definitely wanted to try more. A bit on the pricey end, but I'm glad I came. If I come back, it will definitely be during the Tuesday deal which includes 3 tacos and a margarita for about the same price as only a margarita on other days. read more

Recently paid a visit to Mexico 2000 after a long dining hiatus to this establishment. The Mole Enchiladas were still fuego, but the drinks were not as good as I remember them tasting. The BEST brunch I've been to in a loooonnnngg time. My friend's birthday was here (10ish people) and everything was *chef's kiss* The drinks were sweet and tasty...but also strong. AMAZING!!!!! First, I would like to slap myself 100 times for not stopping by this place every single weekend I drove by it. Like why have I not stepped foot in there in person? I'm so mad I waited this long. I ordered online today and was NOT disappointed! The corn is soooo good. I opted not to have Chile powder on it due to sensitivity to spice and they respected my request and sent me a nice dressed up corn minus the spicy. I also had the carnitas tostadas and the carnitas was so juicy and flavorful and the tostada arrived nice and crisp. The cheese to meat ratio was just so darn good. Service was horrible. Went here to have dinner with friends. I was the first person to arrive. There was no hostess to seat me. I had to find someone to be seated. Then, I asked if I could sit outside and they said no b/c it's closed. How do you have a closed patio area on a holiday weekend, on a hot summer day?? We asked for water, the water came with our drinks- after our food. We later learned our drinks took awhile b/c the frozen drink machine was broken and our drinks were being made in a blender. It would've been nice to be made aware of the reason for the delay. Also, people that were seated after us got their food/drinks before us. The waiter never checked on us - we had to keep getting his attention. We asked for a 2nd round and one of the party members had to go inside to order a second round. We got our drinks much faster. We had a friend drop by to join us. She wanted food so she had to go inside to order her food b/c the waiter didn't check on us. The waiter tried to make up for it by giving us a free shot but then it took him forever to bring the bill and when we got it there was an extra drink on the bill and it needed revision. Mexico 2000 is located in the South Williamsburg section of Brooklyn on the busy Broadway strip. I actually went here for the first time last year on a date night just before the pandemic occurred. It was a Thursday I believe and it was quite busy. I do remember the food portions being large, the drinks being really good and the service being on point. I remember having a wonderful experience and that's the reason why I wanted to go back and support, especially in these very trying times for the restaurant industry. Unfortunately my experience the second go round did not match the first. The food and drinks were great just like the first visit. However, the service was dreadful! It was an early Wednesday evening and it wasn't busy whatsoever. There were only three tables (including mine) that had patrons. The server was extremely slow in various areas (with the exception of bringing our frozen margaritas and food to the table). It first started with our request for lemon for our water. The lemon took FOREVER, to the point where I made a comment to my best friend "My God, did they have to go out and find a lemon tree to pick them?" After seeing staff going back and forth past our table numerous times with no lemon in sight I got really annoyed. I believe it wasn't until after a third reminder that we FINALLY received some. We told them we needed just a few minutes to finalize our food orders. A few minutes turned into about 20 minutes. Even at the end of the evening when we asked for the bill that even took an eternity. Ugh! As much as I would have loved to give them a 4 or 5 star rating I just couldn't. Based on the service alone it wasn't deserved. They truly need to work on their attentiveness to patrons, especially during these difficult times for this industry. Stopped by last night on a whim because they had a table open in their outdoor seating area and WOW so happy to have stumbled across this place. Some of the best Mexican in the neighborhood for sure. First off- the drinks are amazing. Got a passionfruit margarita and also tried the red sangria and both were not only delicious but super pretty! As for the food, definitely recommend the nachos to start! We got steak and they were perfectly balanced and also perfectly sized as an app. We also got the fajitas (which are delish and a really good deal) and a tinga burrito.
