    The real deal

This place is legit Mexican food. I knew the minute that I walked in and all the customers were speaking Spanish that it had to be authentic. Yep, the tacos were delicious and I will definitely return to try more items. It's a Mexican market and you would never know that there a great restaurant is inside!

One can typically tell the aunthencity of a place by who's eating there. This place is legit. Coming from TX, my heart aches for good Mexican food. The sopes were so good! We ordered steak, pork and chicken tacos. I enjoyed the steak the most. Their sauces are good also. The employees were super sweet. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items.

We just moved back to St. Pete from Dallas, TX this year and I guess Texas spoiled me when it comes to Mexican food. We've been on a search to find good Thai, pho, and Mexican food since we got here. While we're still looking for the good Thai and Vietnamese, Mexico Lindo was like a breath of fresh air to us. Finally, an authentic Mexican food joint! Tucked in the left hand corner of the grocery store lies some of the best Mexican food in the area. We ordered 6 street tacos (steak was my favorite) and sopes. Everything was legit and packed w tons of flavor! I also loved the sauces that they brought out and the staff was really friendly! We'll be back for sure!

As authentic a carnita taco as you can find around here! Packed with the meats and fresh as can be. The digs itself won't be for everyone but I absolutely will return again and again for a taco and ALL my spices and dried pepper needs.

3 Tacos Al Pastor and 1 Carnitas Taco! Super Delicious!

I always had a curiosity to come in and check this place out and I finally did. I went in through one door that was actually the grocery store. They had a large variety of items. Then there is a big sign up where the restaurant is.. I went over and ordered 3 Tacos Al Pastor and 1 Carnitas Tacos. They were delicious. I will definitely return. Friendly Staff. They have plenty of tables inside and also outside. They also have their own door to enter the restaurant instead of walking through the grocery store. Just walk towards the tables they have outside and you can enter there.

I came. I saw. I took a picture. I ate. I left feeling like humpty dumpty. Sooooo full. The ambiance, to me, instantly said "try everything today, you never know when you'll be back!" OK...so I over-ordered...5 taco's worth...and ate every last morsel. Steak, Chicken, Pork, Pork Skin, & Pork/Pork Skin mix. Yes they have beautiful Spanish names for all of them, but I'm not even going to attempt to remember them. As I ate them, each one became better than the last although I will say that the stand-out for me, so far, was the steak. So good. Must try. I don't really have much else to add here that other people haven't already said, but wanted to throw my hat into the ring as saying "you must go. Tom has spoken" Pro-Tip: The red hot-sauce has a nice subtle smoked flavor to it without being mouth-on-fire hot

Sudden transportation to Mexico's streets My quest for authentic Mexican food (like the stuff you eat from crashing into a typical Mexican family's living room) led me here. If you can find the humble plaza, ignore the gritty exterior, and don't wander into the market by accident... WOW... attack of the delicious meaty and oily smells! [Cue mouth watering] A wall menu displays typical Mexican food: burritos, tacos, gorditas, and soups at small town prices. This is the real stuff! A mere glance and sniff of my mixed gorditas brought me back to my Mexico visits. The flour wrap was fried right-- you can eat it on its own. Grilled meats, cilantro, onion, and bits of tomato. Simple-- every ingredient danced on my tongue. The fillings only filled half the gordita shell and kind of spilled out-- messy, but worth it. The burrito shone as well and the horchatas drink-- maybe a bit too sweet-- milky with strong cinnamon flavors. There were more people ordering food than places to sit. The small staff was very friendly and crazily ran around doing multiple jobs. This little "deli" seemed like the secret of a community-- who would've guess from this humble plaza?

Great little Latin market and taco shop. Very authentic . It is tucked away back in the corner of a plaza. Food came out fast and it was very tasty. Prices are very reasonable. Great place to shop if you are looking for ingredients for any Latin dish.

    Tonight's dinner was so delicious!!

Excellent steak "street tacos". The tacos are very small but rather tasty. The sauce is spectacular. I will surely be coming back.

**** Review 165 ****…read more Found this place while searching for a lunch place. So glad I decided to give it a try. It has been hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in the St. Pete area, most are too Tex/Mex or try to be "fancy" and everything in the menu is overpriced. This place had a local Mexican vibe, small and probably family owned. The staff were really nice and attentive. The place was clean, and plenty of items in the menu. Ordered the Lunch Fajitas with a Chile Relleno à la carte. The food was delicious, both the refried beans and the rice had flavor and no burning taste. The chile relleno was on the smaller size, but very tasty. They had a few beers on tap, and mostly bottles. I was actually surprised to see the place being a little slow during lunch hour, but they might be new. Either way, if your looks for great Mexican food in St. Pete, then you need to give them a try.

The chips were hot and super crunchy, and the salsa was very flavorful. I ordered the enchiladas rancheras and it was the perfect portion. The green sauce wasn't spicy but had lots of flavor, and I loved the texture of the chicken inside. The ambiance here is very well-decorated and cute, with some screens playing sports as well. The service was good too, our server was attentive and helpful with refills. The food came out very quickly as well.

I also have tried their Enchiladas which I like chicken verde and try them everywhere. Theirs are very meaty and great sauce flavor. I have noticed this place for years and there are always cars out front when they're open. I've also noticed that a lot of the people going in and out are Mexicans. Now I know why. This place is authentic! It is a cheerful little Mexican restaurant with knickknacks brought across the border by the owners and proudly displayed everywhere there's room. I was greeted by Mama Nina as soon as I walked through the door and told to sit anywhere I liked. I was immediately served with chips, salsa, hot sauce, a large glass of ice water, and a menu. Mama Nina saw my interest in the little house plaques behind the register and proudly pointed out her favorite. The salsa is smooth and easy to pick up with the paper thin homemade chips. Neither salsa nor chips were too salty. A lot of places will serve you salty chips and salsa so that you will drink more. Señor Taco isn't trying for the cheap sale. This is the real deal. I immediately ordered Guacamole and Chips ($10.99). The guacamole is obviously homemade, had just the right amount of spice, and was topped with a sprinkle of pico de gallo, instead of having it mixed into the guacamole. Easily matched the best guacamole I've ever had. For my entrée, I ordered the fajita trio ($29.69). This was also the best fajitas I've ever had. Large slices of steak, chicken, and perfectly grilled shrimp, smothered in green and red peppers and onions. Brought out on a hot metal plate with a wooden under plate and still sizzling from the grill. You can see the steam in the photo. A separate plate held yellow rice, scoops of sour cream and guacamole, two different kinds of cheese, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The beans were served in a small crockpot because it was almost like a soup! I mixed the rice with the beans and ate it with the spoon provided. There were easily enough mixings to make 8 fajitas but I was only given 3 flour tortillas, although I'm sure I would have been served more if I asked. There was no way I could eat everything on the table. When I was full Mama Nina deftly packaged my leftovers to go. This was easily the best Mexican meal I have had here in Florida. Well worth the $50 including generous tip. There is a business for sale sign in the window. I hope they are moving to a better location. It always surprises me to find excellent restaurants in little out of the way holes in the wall. I'll be back!
