    14. Two Fish Tacos Plate Combo
    Amy K.

This place was open late until 10pm when most restaurants around closed at 9p. I got the fish taco combo. The rice is amazing, some of the best Mexican rice in north county! The fish was fried crispy to perfection and the pieces of fish were large. I'm happy with this place and will be back.

    Mucho excellent!!

Gloria made our early morning breakfast a delight! As chef, bartender and server she has it all! The best machaca ever! Huevos rancheros very good, eggs cooked to order! The michelada was very colorful and tasty! Gloria added a special touch to everything! Thank you for a lovely breakfast! We will be back!

My husband got the Pollo Asado Soft Taco with guacamole, no pico. It was delicious!

Great food. Beans were a solid 8/10 and carne asada was well flavored. Definitely a solid for downtown vista .

I don't understand what is happening at Curbside Cafe…read more My wife and I eat out a lot. We've been to the trendy breakfast places. You know the places. Two-hour wait. Seventeen people standing on the sidewalk staring at their phones. Every table occupied. A hostess tells you, "We can text you when it's ready," like you're waiting for an organ transplant. Then two hours later you finally sit down and eat an egg that tastes... like an egg. Meanwhile, Curbside Cafe in Vista is over here serving possibly the best breakfast we've ever eaten IN OUR LIVES, and a quarter of the tables are empty. WHAT ARE WE DOING, PEOPLE? I had the crab cake Benedict. I'm not exaggerating when I say my wife and I just stared at each other after the first bite. Apparently they make the crab cakes in-house every morning. Of course they do. Because apparently this restaurant has decided to quietly make unbelievable food and tell absolutely nobody about it. Then we tried the Monte Cristo. I don't even know what this thing was. It was like somebody took a Monte Cristo, somehow baked the whole thing together inside this incredible pastry, and then decided, "Yeah, that seems good enough. Put it on the menu." GOOD ENOUGH?! The flavor was ridiculous. I've never eaten anything like it. Our kids ate their ENTIRE plates of waffles and sausage. Parents understand this is probably the strongest endorsement in this review. Getting children to finish an entire restaurant meal is harder than getting a reservation at one of those trendy brunch places. And the woman taking care of us couldn't have been friendlier. No attitude. No feeling like we should be grateful they allowed us into the building. Just genuinely nice people serving incredible food. Then she tells us we get a DISCOUNT because it's the weekend. Excuse me? A WEEKEND DISCOUNT? Every other restaurant has figured out how to charge me $6 more because it's Saturday. These people are apparently running their business backwards. And that's what makes this place so great. Curbside Cafe doesn't seem to know it's supposed to be pretentious. Nobody told them that when your food is this good, you're supposed to have a 90-minute wait, Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling, a neon sign that says something like "BUT FIRST, BRUNCH," and a $24 plate with one egg leaning against a piece of toast. Instead, they just make insanely good food, charge reasonable prices, treat you nicely, and apparently DISCOUNT IT ON THE WEEKEND. The whole restaurant acts like this is completely normal. IT IS NOT NORMAL. I almost don't want to post this because right now I can apparently walk into one of the best breakfast places I've ever eaten at without sacrificing half my day waiting outside. But seriously, Vista... what are you people doing? GO EAT HERE. Just please leave one table open for us.

I've tried a variety of items on the menu and am always pleased. For my most recent visit I got a ham and cheese omelet, with hashbrowns and an english muffin. It was very good. The omelet appeared liked a stuffed omelet, with it being higher vs longer/wider. I discovered there was a lot of cheese with the ham. I like cheese but this baby was Cheesy with a capital C. It was good though. Hashbrowns were cooked perfect for me. I always worry about overcooked or undercooked. I will be returning and recommend others give it a try if they haven't already.

It has changed hands a couple of times over the last 10-15 years. We regularly ate here as part of our Vista rotation for breakfast/lunch, but we had a poor experience a little over a year ago, so this was our first time back to see how things were. I lasted Yelp reviewed in 2018. There still is a small counter for service inside along with four tables for four and one table for two. Six or so outside tables for service also. One table inside occupied and two outside when we entered. We were greeted by a very pleasant wait staff who were extremely helpful and efficient. We had waters, coffee, Tea, very quickly. Coffee was very good with an assortment of creamers to choose from. I ordered a special Omelet with Chorizo and cheese off their chock board. Side of fruit ($2.50 up charge) instead of potatoes along with Rye Toast. The Toast was just one slice of bread. $17. My better half had the pancake combo, two pancakes with two eggs over easy, one sausage patty. $14.50. We enjoyed the food and service. The prices were fair for the portions and quality of what we ordered. We will add Mom's back into our Vista rotation.

Pretty diverse menu, the chicken fried steak and michelada were hittin. The eggs Benedict was cooked as you'd expect. The waiter recommended the breakfast potatoes and those were cooked and salted well. One of the waiters is super hospitable and friendly. He put a smile on her faces every time he passed by. Service was quick and easy, no issues. They did swap their sign to close 30 min before closing so keep that in mind as we saw one family got turned away on a Sunday. I also had sweet potato fries which were burnt, so disappointed with my meal, then I mentioned to my server I was greatly disappointed, he replied I won't charge you for the sour cream and cheese which were absent from burrito!!! My yelp review is going to be complete, the restaurant was clean but food was the worst Burrito I had ! I eat in the restaurant and took my time the guys busing the table were loud, cleared table and then dropped plates in bottom of cart,LOUD!!! Also the people cleaning the dishes were loud, the atmosphere was LOUD looks like they had low traffic for 1pm! My first time and last time at Brunch Point, the food was overpriced for quality and taste BP Burrito was $17 and the Healthy Green Burrito was $15 and bonus I received burnt sweet potato fries! I came here on recommendation of my wife coworker and I will mention to him also this is worst Breakfast Burrito I ever had!!!!! Pancho's my go to spot in San Marcos it has a train Caboose and there food and Breakfast Burrito is awesome!!!! Connie or son Bill care very much that your needs are met. Foods delivered promptly and hot. I would recommend CONNIE'S Restaurant to anybody who likes home-cooked meals.

If I could give it a ZERO for this visit I would! I have been going to Connie's for several years…read moredined outside etc. Met Coninie several times she showed us around and talked about all the wall goodies where they were from with MUCH pride she was a ball of joy!! BUT in the past year plus something has "drastically" changed in her personality, the last time I was in before this past week, she looked depressed and ready to give up, she said she was tired and her chef was out sick. I came very close to offering her a break and running her restaurant for a couple of weeks, FREE. I have many years of restaurant business, owned my own back in the day, and a great cook, so this would've been a piece of cake. I didn't but I decided to take a friend there last Wednesday from out of town. We sat down, she had a few tables but by no means busy, she came over to take our order, my friend ordered coffee, me water. She brought those like it was the toughest thing she had done that day, her energy was so DARK and ICCKY, I wanted to leave before we got started but we were hungry and had a big day planned. She was not the least bit FRIENDLY, I placed my order and asked if it would be possible to get my waffle after my main meal. If looks could "KILL", she glared disgustingly at me and said, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME" I didn't quite know what to say it was a very simple request I wasn't asking to substitute or anything other than A TIME DEAL. She huffed and puffed and said, "I have that big table out there so it's gonna be awhile". It was a 6 top, WHOOPEE! I said that's fine, my friend ordered and she walked away, I sat for a minute and thought HELL NO, I will not be treated this way by anyone especially the owner of the restaurant and subject my friend to her ICKYNESS on her vacation! So I got up walked over to her open kitchen and said, "I think we will go somewhere we feel more wanted". she looked up glared and said fine! We started to walk out and she came out and said $3.00 for the coffee, like she was A DRILL SARGENT! I would have said, bleep, bleep, bleep BUT..... MY friend hadn't even touched it but put the $3.00 down and asked for a to go cup. That made her even madder, my firend said, tough day?AND her excuse yet again was her cook was sick. Sorry lady that only works for awhile and why was that our problem. I personally think it's time for her to retire with that attitude! We decided to go down to our new local restaurant "BLACK BEAR DINER"! What a great experience, had an excellent meal and service was awesome too. Will never return to Connie's NEGATIVE diner. Head the warning!
