Service was great, place is really clean on the inside. We ordered the Huevos Ranchero very little potatoes and the bean were very runny (seemed like you would need a straw to eat them). Unfortunately, this will not be a repeat for us.

We stopped in today for lunch, and it was delicious! Had to try the pozole rojo of course. It had lots of pork and lots of hominy. They serve it with garnishments such as shredded lettuce, radish, onions, and cilantro. We also got an order of the mini tacos. They were great as well! Our favorite was their salsas! They are all super spicy, and flavorful! The creamy jalapeño salsa, and then I believe it was like a creamy chile de Arbol salsa. We'd definitely go back!

I've had the opportunity to come to Mexpozole a handful of times now thanks for my family. It's become one of their favorite nearby authentic Mexican spots in the Katy area. Located in a really small brand new shopping center, the location can be easily missed so keep your eyes open on Fry Rd. Because of COVID-19, social distancing is being enforced. Do bring your masks. All tables are spaced out by 2-3 empty tables. When you walk in your server will seat you. Like I said, it's a small space.. business has been pretty slow the times that I have been so I've only seen one-two waitresses working. Be patient as they are the only two working the entire restaurant. We tried the loaded nachos for an appetizer and they were pretty good. Ordered all on the side once except for the meat and cheese and ordered all on the side completely another time we visited. I recommend having them keep the meat and cheese on the nachos vs on the side because you do get less of both asking for them on the side. I tried the Tripas tacos, I asked for them to be extra crispy and they came out just like that. Crunchy and full of flavor. They're not the biggest tacos so 3-4 is a good amount if you wanna fill up. On a second visit I had the Tampiqueña plate, it's basically carne asada, enchiladas, fried beans and rice. It was pretty good. I chose to not have the enchiladas and asked for extra rice. They do serve beer, sodas, and aguas frescas! I had the horchata and I actually liked it. Some places make it way too sweet for my taste but the one here is just fine. Overall it's a solid addition to the area. If you need delivery it looks like they are partnered with Uber Eats for home delivery!

My friends and I stopped by for lunch and it was a great time! Service is amazing and the food was extremely authentic. I had a Chorizo Taco, a Torta, and Flan for dessert. Everything was flavored especially well and the Flan was AMAZING! I'll def be back for another. Whatever music station they had playing was very amusing I couldn't stop wiggling in my seat. The only negative thing was that the water tasted a bit off, I'm not sure if it was tap water or what was going on but I didn't like it.

Food is really good! I normally get an order fajita tacos and my family likes tacos potosinos. The service is usually quick, I call when I am 15 minutes away fro a take out order and it's ready by the time I arrive.

I wanted to like this place so bad since my husband has been wanting to try it. I got the beef flautas. My daughter got the quesibirria tacos and my other daughter got the Al Pastor tacos. The meat in my flautas was beyond dry and no flavor. It tasted old. My daughter's quesibirria tasted terrible and the pastor tacos were just as flavorless. I feel like I threw away $60 and to make matters worse my stomach started cramping before I even got home. Never again! Next time I will trust my instincts. read more

Place is not very good. It was clean and the service was wonderful but the food is not it. To start the chips and salsa are not free which I don't mind paying for them but they should atleast give you a decent portion with a GOOD salsa. I got the enmolada plate and the chicken was not tasty at all, do not recommend. It was slimy and not seasoned well. Overall DECENT but I would choose somewhere else for more authentic Mexican food. read more

BEST POZOLE IN HOUSTON! This is an amazing restaurant we just discovered one week ago, and we returned twice already!. Authentic, real, tasty Mexican food. The options will drive you crazy, as you will not know what to eat!. we tried already the pozole, sopes, quesadillas (barbacoa, fajita, trompo meats are great). For those that are not used to REAL Mexican food: this is not your typical Tex-Mex place. If you are looking for quesadillas flooded with cheddar cheese, go to Taco Cabana or Taco Bueno. My first experience at Mexpozole was good. I stopped by and ordered a medium pozole to go. Because of this, I tried to order again this time two pozoles. They wouldn't take my order unless I ordered large sizes, unlike my first visit. Unfortunately, because those were large portions that we couldn't eat and store, I did not order. Due to the lack of consistency in customer service I don't think I'll be ordering again, even if the food is tasty. read more

So happy we found this place today! We had the mini tacos (beef and carnitas) and both were delicious! The pickled vegetables on the side was a nice surprise and added a nice kick to the tacos. So delicious and even my picky eating children loved it. My son nearly ate two whole chicken quesadillas and they were stuffed with amazingly seasoned chicken and cheese. I had the flautas plate and it was so good and even better was the intestines tacos my husband had and I don't eat daringly like that. We've come back a couple times more and are excited to continue to go back again and again to try new other options on their menu. read more

I was dropping off my dog at Bubbles on Fry. I drown down the street and my husband and I decided to get something to eat. We noticed this place and the name is what made us try it out. The place was clean and welcoming with beautiful decor. We ordered pozole and chilaquiles and the portion for each dish was more than enough for both of us. The food was delicious and tasty. I'be been anxiously waiting for this place to open and when it did, I had to try to the Pozole Rojo! It did not disappoint! It was very yummy and tasty. Now, I've had my share of pozoles around Houston and they been average unless you go to Fonda Santa Rosa on the weekends. But this one is really good and closer to home! I live very close to this place. My family and I go there often. The pozole verde and pozole rojo are both really good. Tacos de cecina on homemade corn tortilla are also really good. Everything else looks good and is actually authentic fresh Mexican food. I've also had the menudo, it's one of the best I've had. Overall great place, great attentive service, and they keep the place really really clean. read more

Food was ok. It wasn't bad at all. Service is way too slow. They might be under staffed. Having to wait for services, salsa, ketchup, salt and pepper while our food got cold was a bad experience. I liked the menudo and the homemade tortillas. I saw many people leave or tried dining in and decided to take it to go after waiting so long. Would be good if the service was faster. read more

What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.
