The place is very welcoming and the eating area is nice, roomy, and comfortable. Very nice choice of decor, i must say. It really does add well to the delicious food you're about to eat. When you walk in, it directs you to approach the counter to place your order. After that, you can pretty much sit wherever you want. They will bring and serve your food when it's ready. The food portions are pretty good size and the food is surprisingly very good. The steak however is tough & hard to cut. Lamb and Chicken are delicious and very much to our liking. I will give it proper rating and i will include ways to improve on our next visit. So, stay tuned for my next review.
I have waited for this place to open every time I see it when I go to Trader Joes. At first I thought it was a Yemeni Coffee place, or some Cafe, but I was wrong. They served Greek food and also coffee items. Almost like a upper scale Nick the Greek. They also had a full case with desserts that I didn't get to try. The decor was super modern and pretty. Service was quick and they were very welcoming. I even saw them helping this older gentleman order which was nice of them. Our food was delicious. I love the serving and the flavor. Very tasty. I love that the rice didn't have big pieces of onions and the hummus taste house made. I finished everything in my plate. The coffee, I think I drank half and done, too sweet for me. Overall I would go back for the plates. The meals were a bit pricey but I feel like that's just Livermore. I don't know. lol
Went here with a friend on a Friday afternoon. Surprisingly, the place was empty. I enjoyed the Arabic coffee, chicken shawarma plate and kunafe. All the flavors were really well done. Their garlic yogurt sauce was a nice on the rice plate. I was a little suspicious that the meat was actually shawarma (like, on a rotisserie) but the flavors were good. I was also disappointed by how small the side of hummus was on the plate. I finished that in about three bites (it was yummy). The kunafe was five stars! I struggle to find a good kunafe that reminds me of my families recipe and they are probably the best one I found so far. I recommend this place, and it come back if I was in the area.
A Great Family Dinner with Authentic Flavors and a Nice Vibe! We stopped by Meza n Moka in the market plaza in Livermore, located close to Trader Joe's, after a recommendation from our friends. The restaurant has plenty of tables inside, and we easily got a table on a Friday evening. The setup is straightforward--you order at the counter, pay, grab a number, and choose wherever you'd like to sit. The atmosphere has a nice, open vibe decorated with lovely ethnic decor, and the staff are very nice. Plus, their prices are quite reasonable. The food across the board was delicious: * Algerian Wrap: I ordered this with beef, and it was incredibly flavorful, packed with cheese and veggies. * Lamb Chop Plate: My wife got this, and it was a decent dish. It came with two lamb chops only and was served with pita, rice, and a fresh salad. * Chicken Shawarma Plate: Our kids shared this and absolutely loved it. * Honey Cake: After the meal, we treated ourselves to their special honey cake, which was absolutely brilliant--especially when paired with their traditional Turkish black tea. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience with great service and delicious food. We highly recommend checking this spot out!
Stopped in for a lunch on a Thursday and ordered a chicken schwarma wrap with fries and a iced pistachio latte to go. Drink came out immediately in the most fun to go cup I've seen, a clear sealed can. Drink itself was also very sweet and caffeinated. After 45 minutes waiting for food I asked if I could just get my order to go as I needed to get back to work. They were accommodating and switched the packaging. My wrap was tasty and juicy once I ate it, though the wrap was completely disintegrating from all the liquid coming out. Fries were just okay, not that crunchy (which maybe is from having them to go) but also not that flavorful. My coworker's veggie plate also looked quite sad and she only ate about a quarter of it. We think it was just an off day for them as this none of our party's first time visiting. Probably would come back again when I wasn't on any sort of schedule.
Worth every penny and worth the drive for me!! My bd and stumbled upon this new place and it did not disappoint in any way. The service and people were super friendly and fast. We both had no complaints with the food at all. My favorite was definitely the salmon plate and the crepe. My bf said his favorite was the crepe and the lamb shawarma wrap. The place itself is super aesthetic looking and would be a perfect date night or family dinner spot!

I used to love this place until they started changing everything. The meat portions are noticeably smaller, the hummus tastes completely different, and even the salad isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Just look at the rice compared to my previous picture, the rice isn't even yellow anymore. The overall quality has dropped drastically across the board. And somehow, while the portions and quality are going down, the prices are going up. How do you decrease the quality and increase the price? Pick ONE, not both. It honestly feels like the owner is getting way too focused on maximizing profit at the expense of what made this place good in the first place. Really disappointing to see a place I used to enjoy go downhill like this.

The interior is beautiful, and while it was a bit empty at first, it gradually filled up and had a nice atmosphere. We ordered the chicken breast plate, a kids chicken and fries plate, and a chicken shawarma wrap with fries. The chicken breast itself tasted good, but it looked a little dry. The rice, however, was very bland and only really worked when mixed with the hummus or garlic sauce on the side. The chicken shawarma wrap was really good and probably the highlight of the meal, but the fries that came with it were very bland. No seasoning at all, not even salt. The kids' chicken plate was just okay. I also ordered the karak chai, which came in a beautiful clay pot-style cup. It looked great, but it was so hot that I couldn't comfortably hold it and had to transfer it to another cup to drink. Overall, a solid experience with some hits and a few misses. I'd come back, but definitely hoping for better seasoning next time.

They recommended a plate as a gluten free option, we ended up getting the chicken and beef kebab plate with mint tea. The food came out quick and felt like a good portion. The good: the hummus is homemade and it's really good. The best in Livermore IMO. The cilantro sauce and red pepper sauce was also very good. What needs improvement: service- tell me what's amazing or good there or specials. Just very basic energy for service. No refills on water. Owner was there but didn't engage with customers. When asked for sauces we asked if they could do half and half (they only have 2) and she said ok but then on the bill there's another .95 charge for the extra sauce. Which would have been fine if that was communicated. Menu needs help- things are all over the place and when asked if we wanted an appetizer there isn't an appetizer selection on the menu it's just random. There is no hummus platter but there are pictures of it. Crepes seems like a random addition but there are no gyros? We have some great Greek/ Mediterranean places in Livermore so I was hoping this place would compete with that level. There are better choices locally
Beautiful gem of a restaurant with a broad menu! Ambiance is inviting, relaxing, and colorful. I felt like I was on a little getaway while dining here. Falafels and fries are just at the right level of crispy. Latte is probably one of the top 3 I've ever had in my life. I would definitely come back here for that alone! Meza n Moka opened 10ish months ago where Huckleberry Breakfast & Lunch was. Wall decor totally renovated. Some seating arrangements remain. Order at counter. Pd. Food & tea brought to table in 10ish minutes. Offerings: breakfast, burgers, salads, soups & salad, Algerian/Mediterranean wraps, sides, paninis, North African plates, seafood & pasta, crepes, desserts, coffee/tea, drinks ... Sips: Turkish Tea (mini pot 4.50) -smooth, full body with no harshness, subtle notes. Bites: Lamb Conscous (21) -lotsa tasty freshly made conscous (crushed duram wheat semolina) on bottom. -atop was freshly made potato, carrots, beans & cucumber pieces. -also on top were many pieces of reheated overcooked, semi chewy lamb pieces. Came here for lunch on a Sunday around 12:30pm. It was busy but it's a big restaurant so they have a lot of tables. You order at the counter before sitting down. I ordered the Algier Merguez plate and a iced pistachio matcha latte. I wanted the latte in a Togo cup and it came out in a convenient plastic bottle with a can top, which was perfect to take out. It was really good, but on the sweeter side. 4 stars is because it took 30 mins for my food to come out. I ordered at 12:45 and the food came out at 1:17. Rave for Meza n Moka! Went for the first time last night with my family to celebrate my birthday and we all loved it!! I honestly didn't like Huckleberry's, but I hope Meza is here to stay! It was pretty busy, but it's so spacious and plenty of comfy seating! I love the decor! Even their floors are sparkly! I got the grilled salmon plate, my husband got chicken shawarma wrap, my dad got the lamb plate, my cousin got falafels, and her kids got burgers and fries. Everything was delicious! I love the variety and how there's something for everyone! The staff was nice and friendly. We went to do an escape room after and my husband and I even came back for dessert! When we came back, there were even more people! Like I said, I'm hoping they stay for a long time and wish them all the success in their business! read more

I came to visit Meza n moka on 2nd of September and I got greeted by these two young gentlemen and right away they sat me down where ever i wanted. I always have such an amazing experience at Meza n Moka. The rib eye steak plate is my go to, and is absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, full of flavour, a must try!!!! Sam, the owner was an absolute gentleman and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. The service overall was exceptional, with the team being attentive and friendly throughout. The ambience here is also a big highlight, warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal. Beautiful seating and design inside, feels so welcoming! Highly recommend this place!!! I LOVE to see restaurants open around here of different ethnicities! We need some diversity in the area and I'm so glad this place opened. They have redone the inside so beautifully and decorated with all The nice little touches displaying their culture. Their menu is pretty large with some basic dishes but also some specifically Algerian dishes. The owner is there working hard making sure everyone is happy. He's very friendly, chat him up if you can, he's great. Good selection of pastries, coffee, and teas. It's counter service so you order then find a seat. My only gripe is that the service is very slow. The food takes a long time to come out, the drinks come out fast but the food takes a long time. The servers have to walk around the whole restaurant hunting for the number assigned and it adds to the wait time. I know they're just opening so I hope they can iron out the service wait time kinks. The wait for the food by no means deters from anything, Ive been here twice and both times it's packed which I love to see. We had to see what the hype was about and now we know!! We walked in on a Saturday evening and people were sitting, enjoying their food and conversation. The food menu is posted above the counter. They have a really great variety to pick from, we ordered our usual chicken kabobs. Had a seat and loved looking around at the decor. We got our food promptly with a variety of dressing and sauces. The flavors are incredible, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and hummus is amazing! Huge portions too, my husband and I could split a plate. We are very much looking forward to our leftovers. Rounding up a bit. The Wife and I stopped by for an early dinner, around four. The place was pretty empty. A very attractive interior space, with the TV showing video of Greece. I ordered the falafel wrap, with fries on the side and water. Normally I would have ordered a diet Coke or Pepsi, but they just have Shasta. The wife ordered a falafel platter, which came with rice and salad and a small amount of hummus. You order at the front, and they give you a number to take back to your table, and then bring out your food. The wrap was tight and crunchy, just the right amount of all the ingredients, very well done. For some reason, I couldn't taste the fries. But they were well cooked. The wife really enjoyed the falafel as well. Just enough moisture on the inside that she didn't have to bathe it in tahini sauce. The salad was just iceberg lettuce and a few other things, nothing special. The hummus was decent, but she got a strange coffee-like flavor from it. She also got a side of fries. My family is a big fan of Greens N Grills in Union City, so we were super excited to try their new place out. I love how spacious this space in Livermore is, and the interior decor is very nice. They offer both counter and table service, and the staff were very friendly. I really like the concept of this restaurant focusing on both meals and cafes while blending different global flavors. We ordered our usual chicken shawarma plate, which was just as delicious as the one at their Union City location. Their chicken and hummus are a family favorite, we are always raving about it! After our food, we ordered some drinks - 2 karak chais and a dirty Nutella. The chais came in traditional clay cups, which was really nice to see and added to the experience. Since we moved to the area in 2017, this is the fourth restaurant to call this location home. With a slew of Mediterranean restaurants within a 2 mile radius, I hope this one will survive. We stopped by for lunch. We ordered at the counter, and the friendly wait staff brought our food when it was ready. One of my companions had a lavender latte. I had a sip. It was delicious. Two of our companions ordered dishes with Algerian sauce and both were pleased. My falafel wrap was ordinary and not something I'll order again. The menu is varied so it's worth checking out. Save room for dessert or take some home. The case is impressive. read more
