Today I went to Vitality Bowl with a friend to get a sweet treat Sunday evening to end my day nicely and left empty-handed and disgruntled. My friend and I walked in at 6:30 and looked at the menu, mulling over options and were not greeted by the worker. We stood there for five minutes confused so we then asked the worker if we should use the kiosk to order. He then stated rudely, "Oh you were trying to order? We stopped taking orders five minutes ago." Customer service is clearly a rarity nowadays. This took us completely aback because 1) the door to the establishment was open and 2) he clearly saw us standing there and never once thought to relay this information (if it's true). Cons: While the server was fine, the owner came into the store with his mask half down and was very rude and impolite. My dad needed to use the restroom, and there was NO "employees only" sign. "Apple pie is good for you!" explained the nice manager of this restaurant. Well, the apple pie bowl is actually not an apple pie, but it's got lots of apple! And of course it's tons healthier! Well, the calories are more than the other bowls, but the manager assured me that it's worth it! Plus, the apple pie comes with granola. At least, the manager insisted that this is really a healthy option, and I of course believed her! The apple pie bowl was $13.95. Not cheap, but after tasting it I think it was a pretty good value. I think I probably prefer the Dragon bowl rather than the apple pie Bowl. Both are very good, but I think the dragon wins. The interior of the store is pretty spacious, with metal chairs and sort of old-fashioned tables. It's sort of spartan inside, but still bright and cheerful. On warmer days, there are also some tables outside. The manager was super friendly and helpful in explaining the various options. Keep in mind, that your order will be custom prepared. That is, it's not as fast as fast food so you will have to be patient for a few minutes. On the day I visited, things seem to be a bit disorganized, but it was still worth the wait. Yes indeed the apple pie bowl tasted fantastic! Okay okay, it's not quite as fantastic as a real apple pie, but close! It's actually a pretty good size meal, very sweet and fruity, but of course, no crust. Now, if they could just make a key lime pie bowl that's just as good as key lime pie, but without the calories, life would be perfect! My warrior bowl's taste was bland and was just off, it tasted almost like the fruit mixed in was old or something. Just went here today with a friend of mine -- apparently he's been here about nine times so far! Today was my first time, and I was pretty impressed. I will agree with other reviewers when they say it's a little on the expensive side, but it is a chain store and their prices are set by corporate, and not them. Plus, the bowls themselves are really big (and filling) with wholesome ingredients. It's hard to make an argument about price when you're eating at a store that promotes healthy eating. The tall guy taking our order was really nice. He sold me on adding banana as a topping to my "Dragon Bowl". Extra charge, but I'm not tripping over it. It was a good addition. Now every time I go to Vitality Bowl, the smoothies are always watered down, the bowls are not as packed as they use to be, and overall taste is not the same.
