We entered the shop and were instantly greeted by a wonderful sales clerk. She didnt carry it but offered to research it and bring in some. Promised to let us know. This wine shop is absolutely gorgeous inside with all the beautiful decorations by the season. It is run by some fabulous women who have a really great vision about what style and comfort and good vibes are in a winery. I've been in a few times and I'm thinking about joining the wine club it's $30. Meza Wine Shop is great for wines that aren't too expensive. It has a good variety of flavors, many of which are reasonably priced. There's also some food platters. It's best to stick with what they're known for. There's evening offerings of tastings. I was looking for some sweet red wine, and there was plenty to choose from. It's not a big place, but they're able to pack a lot into it. There's a small dining area for those eating the charcuterie and cheese plates. It has many items for those on a budget. The one red wine was about $18, and it tasted like it was worth more than that. If you don't know much about wine, the staff usually is pretty helpful. They will choose something good for you if you can't figure out what you want. If you want wine from an independent local store you should go to Meza Wine Shop. It's not all that expensive. What a darling wine shop! I stopped in for wine tasting with friends and immediately fell in love with the place. The decor is darling and this shop has a charm about it. The dining space is lined with shelves that are filled with a variety of wines for your shopping or dining pleasure. There are several table options and even a little gift shop section that offers attire, wine accessories, and some of your favorite food options. The wine tasting is reasonably priced- 5 tastings for $10. There are also charcuterie and cheese boards available for purchase. We tried the Local Cheese Board and the Ohio Artisan Board. The flavors and variety of the items on both made for fun and delicious pairings. The jams provided on each of them are amazing. Was gifted a charcuterie box from Meza by someone. It was delivered to the WRONG address. Luckily the neighbor recognized our name and brought it to us. The box they use is probably fine to be used if the delivery person is simply handing it to someone. But their instructions are to leave it on the doorstep if no one answers. The box is nowhere near appropriate for leaving on a doorstep. It's flimsy and easily accessible to critters if left for too long, as in the case of no one being home. Be sure if you're gifting it to make sure the recipient will be home. Contacted the shop, but she didn't seem genuinely concerned. Offered to replace it, but I didn't need that, just wanted to suggest different procedures for them to prevent the same issues in future. read more

I absolutely love Meza! Pre covid, I would go about 1x/month to drink wine and get one of their charcuterie boards. The inside was always so quaint. Such a cute spot! The decor is great. We stopped in here for fourth Friday and it was hopping! But the service at the bar was still quick and we were able to snag a table in the back. They do wine tasting on Fridays and it was $1/pour and $5 for a glass, which is a pretty awesome deal. We ended up getting the artisan cheese board and another charcuterie type board - these were the stars of the night for me. They weren't cheap but I thought reasonable for the quality of cheese. The wine was pretty good too - having the flight option is always nice. I would love to come back on a weeknight with a friend when it wasn't so busy and spend some time exploring the shop while sipping on a glass. read more

Came here last night for their holiday champagne tasting. It was 35 dollars for 5 samples. At first I was not impressed- we came in, no where to sit, no instructions on what was going on and no appetizers or finger foods (for 35 dollars I would have expected something!!). However, once we got settled, a place opened up and I bought an appetizer we had a nice evening. The guy pouring the champagne was very knowledgeable and the samples were delicious to try! I got the meza board as my meal. It had french bread, red pepper spread and feta. It was good! Cute shop. read more

Though Meza is not the only wine shop on state street; it is my favorite. Heres why i think they beat out the rest. Meza is a cozy wine shop located in uptown Westerville. With beautiful decore and a great atmosphere.You can tell the owners really take pride in their business. The friday night wine tastings are the best. For $10 you get 5 glasses of wine and they tell you a little about the wine while they pour it. They're all so polite and friendly. At often let you know they are happy to see you/or meet you. They have also added a menu of cold plates which are always delicious and served quickly. Last but not least meza is Conveniently located by the parking lot. What's great about Meza is that you can get a great bottle of wine for a gift (or yourself!), or you can sit down to a glass or a flight with friends. They have an excellent selection for all price ranges and really well-informed staff to help you pick out what you need. Everyone who works there is so personable and just down to chat. The shop itself is small but has a great atmosphere, with very stylish decor. The one drawback is that there is limited seating on crowded nights. You really have to be a vulture to snag a seat if you're with a group. All in all, though, I love Meza and its staff. The Friday night wine tasting is a great value: $10 for 5 (about) half-glasses. Meza claims to be a specialty and gourmet food store in uptown Westerville. And though a change from the usual antique store drone of the area is welcome, the claim is disputable. Very little food is to be found anywhere in Meza. There are a few small shelves of spices here and displays of cake mixes there. Overall, the store looked more like a display for the antique kitchen appliances deco that lined the walls rather than the sparse selection of food. Prices were average for this kind of place...which actually means sorta expensive. Don't get me wrong, though. It's a neat enough store -- especially in uptown Westerville. Now that Columbus is attracting Whole Foods and its ilk, there are other stores just do the same thing better. read more

Was here LATE on Saturday night. We swung in about 10:30pm for a night cap with a couple of friends. There was another couple in there, and the girl working at the counter was VERY nice. The wine was good, and there was a HUGE selection. The only thing I will mention is that we had two glasses of wine, and on the 2nd glass, they poured a different wine into the same glass as the first....which really shouldn't happen. Each new wine should have its own glass. I didn't say anything, because I didn't want to sound strange....but think this is something that should be part of the training there....especially when you are paying close to $10 for each glass. However, with that being said...I would certainly go back....even just to look at the wine! read more

What a great place!! How have I missed it until now!?! I found Meza on Yelp & once I saw the pics & the reviews I knew the husband & I had to go. We truly enjoyed it. We both have been enjoying wine more and more lately so this was the perfect place for us to try. There were several types of wine to taste. We each chose 3. The walls are lined with bottles to buy to go or to drink there. I observed several people coming in and buying wines. The owner seemed to know them all. Must have been regulars. Cute shop in uptown Westerville. A great wine selection and some nice seating. We picked up their "most popular" cheese plate and were pretty underwhelmed by the quality. A great fruit spread, but the cheese's were both pretty bland with some extremely spice-driven crackers. Good, not great. I reached out to Meza for a fundraiser I did for Pelotonia over the summer. They very generously donated a beautiful gift basket for our raffle, which was one of the more sought after items of the evening. Because of their generosity, I, of course, thought of them when I did my next fundraiser for Movember. I contacted them again about a wine tasting, hopefully to bring them some business in return for their helpfulness prior and they were very eager to have us for the evening. The whole process was smooth and easy! They gave us many options of how to host the event and had 5 very tasty wines for us to taste! (So much so, I ended up heading back there a week or so for more of one of them!) Not only is the space very warm and welcoming; a real pleasure to have a wine tasting in but the owners by far are the thing that makes Meza so special. Their passion about wine shines through in their shop and their dedication to helping their community makes them a real staple in Westerville. Meza Wine Shop gets my A-OK YELP rating in semi-unfair fashion. It's due in large part to me not being a wine worshipper and partly because I'm not exactly petite in size. I'll explain. Meza throws what they called "Friday Night Flights" and that happens to be the reason for me being given a friend suggested it as a meeting place. Each person pays $10 - $12 and you receive three 2 oz. samples of that night's "region" or "composition". This night was CALIFORNIA night and my friend and I enjoyed whites and reds. Call me brutish but my palate couldn't tell you a Reisling from a Pinot and so forth. So I'm just not well-suited for enjoying small dabs of wine and exercising my opinions on a specific taste. But the "Flight" concept turned into a nice talking point and Meza staff did an nice job of presentation. I was impressed by the charcuterie plate as a side. It featured prosciutto, salami and pepperoni sliced nice and thin and came with a bowl of warm assorted olives and baguette slices. There was ample supply to easily feed 2 people not intent on a meal. Following our flights and one additional traditional pour each of our favorite that night selected from the three, we finished our evening looking for a French wine to go. But we also browsed the racks and shelves for selections. There seemed a good variety of all wines but the presentation was lost on this guy as, again, my yearnings don't lean to wines by nature. The shop is a cute one. The table seatings are mostly by fours with stools that are low and seats smallish (remember petite mention?) so my comfort level was only about a 4 out of 10. I will add the comment that Meza on a Friday night was 80% women and that's always a nice compliment to the ambience. I would recommend an A-OK establishment like Meza Wine Shop to any and all friends who like small town presentations. Westerville remains semi-quiet and quaint and Meza, easy to find and ample parking in the rear, is a subtle gem of the downtown business district. Go on. Sip away! read more

Love this place. Its super cute. Its like a secret library to find different treasures. I found this bottle of wine from a super small winery in paso robles that I always used to go to! It was crazy that they even knew this winery existed! You can try different wine here and then buy it or just take a guess and pick some bottles out. I love how they change their stock based on the season. At the beginning of summer season they had a huge rose section in stock. I've liked every bottle I have gotten there. read more

Boy, Randy S., are you ever the snob! I found this shop a delight. Wines are arranged by country of origin and state in the case of the US. Loving the foxy wines of northeast PA and Chautauqua Cnty. NY, I wanted to find wines from the Columbia Valley of Washington State. (WA is now the second biggest producer in the US.) The Columbia Valley is the only other wine area with a reputation for foxness of its wine. The Meza had a small collection of Columbia Valley wines. I was impressed. They're not the sort of thing one can find in WV where I live. I found delightfully scented candles and Rossi Pasta. I think Westerville is fortunate to have wine shop this nice. I, for one, found the Meza's offerings much more inviting than the offerings at either Trader Joes and Whole Foods, where the domestic fare is ALL California at least in the TJ's and WF stores I've visited. Love this place! Spent a weekend visiting friends in Cbus and spent a decent amount of time here during my trip. Spent a night here with friends sipping on wine, doing a couple tastings and enjoying a cheese plate while meeting locals and making new friends. The staff here is awesome and you feel like you are a member of their Meza family! I also attended a pop-up clothing event here for Gemma clothing and bought a beautiful dress while enjoying some mimosas. After a few minutes, another couple walked up and stood behind us. When the girl came out from behind the counter, she walked right past us and asked the couple behind us if they needed help. For the most part Meza carries items from Ohio and other places in the USA. Meza has home cooking items such as dishes, books, aprons, towels and oven mitts. I would say Meza would be a good place to check out if you're looking to invite people over for a dinner or party and you want it to be a little more than average fair without being formal. They have gourmet foods like Rothschild jams and salsas, Rossi Pasta and wines. Also, they have chocolates, one of which is a bar known as Emergency Chocolate and it calls itself a cure-all for things like chocolate cravings, pre-exam stress and other times when you desperately want comfort food. read more
