    Late dinner

Satisfactory (Tex) Mexican restaurant that has been a staple on Court Street for quite some time. Arriving around 10:30 pm, I was here recently for a quick bite/snack (not a full meal although I've had dinner in the past at Mezcal's). Cute, colorful interior with above average prices considering the authenticity of the food.Their menu included many categories such as starters, specials, tacos, salads, enchiladas/quesadilla and cocktails. Average price for an entree seemed to be around $17. Service was attentive the evening I visited. On this given late night we ordered: *Strawberry margarita--I didn't try it but it looked good *Guac with chips *La Catrina quesadilla The drink was frozen, fruity and from what I was told---satisfying. As far as the quac with chips--it was pretty good. Not a huge bowl but most restaurants serve a similar sized portion. We were told that the chips were made in house and they were actually good. The La Catrina quesadilla was vegetarian with jalapeno peppers, cheese, onions and sauteed spinach. Cut into 4 pieces, it was sufficient and tasty. I really liked it. Overall, Mezcal's is an old reliable pit stop that satisfies hunger and where food seems fresh and solid. It wouldn't be my first choice for Mexican, but it met my expectations every time I visited. Yes, the prices are kind of steep though.

I been here many many times pre pandemic and post. If there is something unique about this place is that is a small cozy environment with outdoor patio and the staff for the most part is still the same throughout the years. They don't push, follow up to make sure everything is good and the price is very reasonable, enough to give them a 25% or more on tips. I have tried from meat to seafood and the flavor is just unique authentic Mexican style (not Tex Mex). I love supporting local business that really put their effort on having a consistent great customer experience and Mezcal have failed nailed it in keeping the standards high through their food and service to the clients. I highly encourage everybody to visit this place and try any plate, you will not regret!

This place is the best! They have authentic Mexican food and drinks that are delicious. It's not the hipster stuff. Just high quality REAL Mexican food! Perfect for dinner and drinks!

10 out of 10! It's become my favorite spot in the neighborhood, you can't beat the delicious happy hour drinks and consistently amazing food. Super nachos are a must & the spicy shrimp with rice and beans is my go to. Cheers to many more years of prosperity, love y'all!

This place has a cute backyard and looks clean. They have an A on the sanitation grade so that's a plus. Came here for lunch since we just moved in the neighborhood to check it out. The server was nice. I thought overall it was decent. Not really a fan of Tex-mex but I had a good experience. The portions are huge. And the margaritas are cheap!! I ordered the fish tacos, yummy but a bit greasy. Margaritas -4 Food-3 Service-4 Ambience -4

My go to for after work drinks and a bite to eat. I'm here at least once a week now! My favorite drink - passion fruit Mexican bulldog, must have if you haven't tried it yet! Cozy backyard and overall great vibe here.

3.5 stars My friends…read morehad been raving about Lobo for years. It was their neighborhood spot that they would frequent themselves, but also the place to which they would bring all of their guests. After turning down several opportunities to join them in the far off land of Brooklyn, I finally agreed to make the trek and give the restaurant a shot. The Cobble Hill area was really charming, and Lobo was located on one of the main streets that was packed with restaurants, coffeeshops, and small retailers. When I arrived at Lobo, I did not see my friends in the bar area on the ground floor and was told to check the back garden. I found my group out in the quiet, cozy yard and joined them at the spacious table. The weather was a bit chilly, especially as the night wore on, and it was even raining at one point. However, there was a covering that completely shielded us from the elements. In addition, despite our being outside, the friendly staff was diligent about checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. Since my companions had been at the table for a bit by the time I had arrived, they already had beverages in front of them, so I needed to catch up. I ordered a house Margarita without specifying a particular brand of tequila. Even with their default spirit, the drink was very strong. It also used their homemade sour mix, which was, thankfully, more sour than it was sweet. Our drinks paired nicely with the complementary, spectacular tortilla chips and zesty salsa. When it came to my meal, I was unsure of what to order, since the reviews had been very mixed, most either being 5-stars or 2-stars with comments about items being "bland". I decided to go with the grilled Chicken Fajitas, which arrived on a standard plate, rather than a sizzling platter. While that was not a great sign, the chicken actually wound up being enjoyable and certainly not bland. Plus, it was not at all greasy, like fajitas can often be. Accompanying the poultry strips on the plate were freshly sauteed onions and green peppers, a mound of seasoned rice, and smoky refried beans, which were all tasty. I typically prefer black beans, which were not an option here, but the refried worked out well. Separately, I received a container of flour tortillas (though I wished they had soft corn ones) and a plate with guacamole, pico de gallo, serrano peppers, lettuce, shredded cheese, and sour cream. I agreed with some other reviewers that the guacamole was more like mashed avocado, as it was very under-seasoned. The pico was also oddly sweet, and the tomatoes were mushy. Despite these minor critiques, I found that the food surpassed my expectations that had been established from other reviews. I would be willing to make the trip to Lobo again in the future. **Note: The restaurant is cash only!
