I really want to give four stars. However, Mezeh's atmosphere and training of staff is a detractor. The food quality and policy of allowing as many toppings as desired is good. If they turned down the music, trained the staff to smile and engage the customer, and made sure the details of cleanliness, signage were consistent, I'd raise to a four. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Mezeh - pre pandemic and it was the one in Fair Oaks Mall. To my surprise they opened one in Centreville which is closer to me. I was greeted by Omi who was very pleasant. He was very knowledgeable on all the Ingredients and very patient while I made my selections. My daughter got a grains bowl with steak sharwma that she loved and I got a greens and grains bowl with Omi's suggestion that was delightful. In my opinion I believe Mezeh is a better overall product with their topping selections compared to others similar. We will definitely be back. read more

Very painful dealing with this restaurant. I placed a catering order online for our business. I needed to add to it/edit it because I wanted falafel and that wasn't offered on catering. I tried calling at least 10 times and the number said they are on the phone, leave a message and they will call back. Never got a call back. I called Fair Oaks and they finally were able to give me the managers number. I called and they said the line was disconnected. When I finally got thru, I was told they are unable to add to the order and that we have to do it manually. Very painful. Why can't you get an upgrade to your system? They couldnt even email me a receipt. So very frustrating. read more

I've been going to Mezeh since they opened their first location at fair oaks mall. They're bread has gone downhill as it's as good as a basic piece of pita at regular grocery store. The food still seems good but it feels like they nickel and dime you. I just got a kids bowl for my son and asked for an extra topping or two. The lady paused and then turned around to talk to her other female coworkers in the kitchen in Spanish. Did they really need to have a discussion in Spanish to figure out how much extra to charge for a topping in a kids bowl??? I'd feel better if they had a menu that specified the price. Mezeh has got it all right. The food quality, taste, and quantity (value), the in-store experience with the amazing staff, and their catering service. This is the second time we catered through Mezeh for a party at our home. The catering coordinator carefully crafted our order and had everything ready on-time. The guests loved the food: the proteins - chicken shawarma and lamb meatballs were a big hit, as were all the wonderful toppings and side. This is going to be our go-to catering spot. read more

I've been visiting Mezeh for years since it opened up, starting in Fairfax. This new location is horribly managed. The employees here don't appear to be very well trained or managed, for my four visits, the employee had AirPods in her ears and was having a discussion in another language each time with someone clearly on the phone. This is while pretending to pay attention to the customers, and getting the toppings wrong multiple times, with me having to repeat myself and others, for the correct toppings. Unacceptable. In addition, the toppings are not always there, for example the pickled onions as well as corn, which are very easy things to keep in stock. Would not recommend, since clearly the management at this location is not on top of things. read more

The food was good, and the portion size was generous (typical oversized American portion, more calories than most people need in a single meal). The second time, I ordered the same wrap but with lemon garlic and tahini sauces. They gave me tzatziki instead. I can't eat dairy. The third and last time, I ordered the same wrap in person. My husband and I were visiting our daughter and her boyfriend from out of state. We ordered four bowls online. We only received three bowls. My husband called right away, only to receive a non apologetic response that they would send it to corporate and the refund would take a few days. Ten days later, with no refund, I called and spoke to Karen, the manager, and explained what happened. She offered a refund of the entire order in cash if I came into the restaurant. After I explained that it wasn't possible since I was over 500 miles away, she said to e-mail review@mezehdotnet and she would also send a request. I e-mailed that day. After no response, I e-mailed again three days later and I contacted Mezeh through their website. After one full week and still no response from anyone, I had no choice but to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge. So now I wait to see if Mezeh responses to them. This entire ordeal showed me how poorly Mezeh values customer satisfaction and how shocking their customer service is. On top of that, the quality of their food is described in their name: Mez-EH. It was my 2nd visit to this location that just opened 2 months ago. I couldn't wait to place an order and introduce the food for a gathering of family who lives here locally and some family from out of town. Everyone loved the food! The food was fresh, delicious, full of color, variety of choices of meat, vegetables, fixings, and sauces. I ordered 9 bowls and everyone loved it. They said it was great tasting and full of flavor and they didn't feel bloated and guilty eating it all because it was also so healthy. They are now new Mezeh fans! This review is for the service received only. Today was my first and last time at Mezah. I am so disappointed with the service I received today. I walked in after my gym session and the employee named Maria was making a bowl for the patron in line before me and my friend. When it was my turn, I asked for a chicken bowl. She starts my bowl (adds the rice and the kale) then sets my bowl to the side. She informed us that the chicken wasn't ready and began to prepare meals for the next patrons in line. I said okay then stepped aside to let the other customers through. The chef lets her know that the chicken was ready and she acknowledges him and rings up the patrons she was helping. I'm thinking she's going to come back to finish preparing my meal but instead she begins to prepare 3 online orders. My friend and I wait a few minutes then we mention to her that the chicken was ready and asked if she could finish preparing my meal. She became frustrated and stopped preparing the online bowls. She sighs loudly, grabs my bowl, adds the chicken to it, sets my bowl to the side then walks away to finish preparing the online orders. At this point, my friend and I both agree that we're being purposely ignored and are feeling a bit unwelcome by the poor service. So we just walked out. I am not sure why Maria was so bothered by us. We were the only people left to tend to and she was blatantly refusing to serve us. I can't even explain why. We were not rude, we never raised our voices at her and the place was not busy at all when we arrived. I can understand being frustrated at work but I don't understand taking it out on your patrons. This happens to be one of the few vegan friendly places in the area, my daughter does not eat meat , very picky eater and loves the kids bowls from here, I placed an online pickup order 10 minutes prior because I have to pick up my daughter from the bus stop at 3:00, I get to the store and the woman behind the counter just begins to make the kids bowl, what's the point of an online order if you do it upon arrival? Next... unknowing to them, I'm of Hispanic decent , fair skinned so sometimes mistaken , she speaks to her boss behind her in Spanish about me ordering the meal for kids ... then comes to give me the order, and asks me is this for me ? I then tell her it's for my daughter but the comment was very rude and unnecessary, if you don't want people to order items off your menu maybe don't have them on the menu?
