    Chicken Wings, BBQ.

I've stayed at the hotel a couple times since it is right by our U.S. office. The food is always good to very good. I've tried the Edgewater Burger which is good, I've had it twice. Both times it was cooked as requested. The bun is nice and butternut and crispy. I tried the pizza, it's decent pizza, nothing amazing, but I doubt you'd get it and think it was bad. The crust was good, very crisp and the pizza is light with a little crisp to the dough, definitely not soggy. I had the French onion soup.... Unimpressed. I may be a French onion snob as I've been lucky to travel around the country and tried numerous soups (including in France). This was very average, I like the bread to be a little crispy, this was soggy, and the cheese, once I pushed into the soup. It all kind of gelled together. Like you can't get bites with other parts of the soup. I was literally using my knife to try and cut it apart so I could eat it in pieces and not one huge chunk. But it became too tedious and eventually I had to eat the cheese all together. I really liked the chicken wings, cooked well, I really enjoyed the bbq sauce. The wings are by far my favorite. As I have to come here multiple times a year to visit our office. I'm sure I'll try more food. For a hotel restaurant, it's pretty good.

Formerly known as Lakefront, this is the main restaurant in the Hilton at University Place. We had a coupon for Lakefront we wanted to use so we drove over after Church today for brunch. Very spacious and well appointed. It reminds me a lot of the Hyatt in Marietta Ga with it's glass wall and view of the Japanese Garden. Does not have a Japanese Garden but does have a beautiful view of a Lake and artificial waterfalls. My wife ordered a Steak Salad. Actually there are serveral salads available and you can get steak or chicken or other items added. She also ordered a side of seasonal fruits which for a change, was something more that just mellon. I had a shrimp Po Boy that except for being a bit overcooked was excellent. My side was a simple salad which was anything except simple with a pretora of mixed greens, tomotoes, pickles etc. It was so hugh I could not eat all of it. Service was outstanding from start to finish and I have to give high marks to the entire staff. Outstanding Lunch and by the way, they did honor the coupon we had even though it's no longer Lakefront. We definately be back and may try and get there early enough for the breakfast buffet.

We were about the only people in the restaurant, a group of a dozen, there for my cousin's birthday. The service was so slow and I don't think the server was very competent or must have been new. The manager had to help her. The food was delicious, and everyone else agrees! However, it took a while for the food to come out, and then everyone got their food at different times within a 15-20 minute period. My aunt did not receive her soup at all. The tea tasted like a powder mix. My aunt ordered two bottles of champagne and they brought about 5 mini bottles out which we thought was weird. It took 30 minutes for our server to sort checks even though they wrote down our order based on who was on separate checks. I might dine here again, but highly doubt it.

Excellent meat and cheese board. It is a fine assortment of artisanal Cheese and meats.

I LOVE the breakfast buffet here! They have biscuits and gravy, turkey sausage, bacon, fluffy eggs, potatoes, hash browns, hot cakes (or french toast or waffles), fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, cereal, AND an omelet station! Pick your ingredients and the cook will make you a delicious omelet, and they can even cook with egg whites if you prefer. LOVE that they have smoked salmon as well! I ordered a breakfast sandwich off the menu once too; I got the croissant sandwich which came with eggs, pesto, bacon, tomato, and spinach. It comes wide a side of hash browns and fresh fruit. The restaurant itself sits right on the lake, and has a fairly large dining area. The bar is a separate room but also considered part of the restaurant. For dinner one evening, my coworkers and I ordered the hush puppies, nachos, and bruschetta. All dishes were alright but nothing special. Breakfast alone is 5 stars, the rest is about average. Definitely would recommend this place for breakfast!

Shrimp & Grits (small size for $13)

Since this restaurant was in the hotel I was staying at while in Charlotte; I opted on dining here two of the three nights of my stay. I have to stay that the service here was top notch. The bartenders were personable, chatty (but not in an annoying way) and gave me good menu recommendations. Each time I dined here I had the seafood hushpuppies which were delicious (5 stars). The shrimp & grits were a stomach pleaser and the half portion was huge for only $13 (4 stars). The short rib and mac & cheese was a miss because while the mac &a cheese was 4 stars the short rib was 1 star which brought this entree overall down to (2.5 stars). If you are staying at this hotel I do recommend dining here, but skip the short rib dish!

I really loved the Lakefront Restaurant. I used a Verizon rewards coupon for buy one get one free dinner entrees. I ordered the turkey sandwich and was more than satisfied by their guacamole and thick slices of turkey on the sandwich. The fries were also very fresh tasting. My boyfriend ordered the hangover burger that came with bacon, onions, cheese, and egg and enjoyed it as well. We both brought home to-go boxes with about half of our meal. We sat right by the window and had a great view of the boardwalk and lake. Lastly, the chocolate cake (order with ice cream!) for dessert was simply delicious- moist and sweet. My only complaint is the gap in serving times; this was our second attempt at dining here because the first time I did not realize that lunch was served until 2 or 3 and dinner didn't start until 5 and we came around 4. I cannot wait to go back and try the breakfast buffet!

A nice little bar located inside the Hilton Hotel. Just slide on in from the Boardwalk and grab a cocktail. Bartender was very nice and friendly. Plenty of seating and TV's.

Look up this date and read my review.

Food was mediocre. Service was good. However, I was disturbed by the way my French fries were served. It came in a paper wrapping in a metal coil. Sounds innocuous. The wrapper is a facsimile of a newspaper dated May 17, 1861. I will post a photograph of it. This is a quote from thecivilwarproject.com regarding that date: "Confederate President Jefferson Davis signs a bill to bring North Carolina into the Confederacy if its citizens vote to secede and support the Confederate Constitution." Is this a coincidence? Either way I was not amused. Make of it what you will.

Expensive hotel breakfast buffet. Not worth the cost(unless you're staying there and it's included in your room costs)

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

I was very excited to come dine here but was left feeling very conflicted…read more On one hand, I had the best chicken and waffles ever. The chicken tenders were soft and tender, with a crispy and well seasoned fried skin. Not too strong, but just enough to really appreciate the chicken. The waffles had this really nice bouncy chew to it, similar to a mochi donut. Really enhanced further by the syrup and amazing texture difference when you get any of the crispy chicken over the waffle. But on the other hand, everything else we ordered and the service while we were there were lacking. We had a reservation for lunch on a Sunday, and were seated very quickly. But then it took a very long time for a waiter to come to us. Once the waiter did arrive, we weren't greeted or introduced, simply just a "know what you want?". On top of that, when asking what was in the quiche of the day and the market rate we got a "idk maybe 14 or 15" and then what we were told was in the quiche was just not true haha. We were told there would be some vegetables and cheese, but ended up with no cheese and a lot of potatoes inside our quiche. The food did come very fast after we ordered so that was a plus. I think the main reason this experience left a bad feeling was because the table next to us had the same waiter and got a completely different experience. The waiter walked them through the menu, told them about the history of the restaurant, and told them a completely different (but this time accurate?) price and contents of the quiche of the day! I'm glad the chicken and waffles were fantastic, but it is sort of hard to enjoy your meal when you see completely different service from your waiter just one table next to you :(
