Probably the best pizza place in Eugene if you're looking for New York style by the slice. My only complaint was that I ordered over the phone and they charged me for 2 calzones. I didn't realize until I got home since my order was so big and I got take out. That was the only complaint I have for the 2 years going there. Great Pizza as you know. Good beer on draft. What really made my night was to see how nicely they treated a homeless lady. She was at least 65 and mentally slow. Respect. Kindness. Prompt service. Terrific pizza! You can buy pizza by a slice and choose from the usual toppings, such as pepperoni or cheese or venture to more unique combinations. When I went there was sausage, potato and smoked mozzarella. My boyfriend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our slices. We went on a date night and the ambiance was perfect. Low lighting, great intimate atmosphere. But I would love to go back with my girlfriends too or even by myself to pick up a slice! I definitely want to make this a "go-to" location. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were served promptly. The prices were really reasonable too (about $2.75- 3.75 per slice). Bring your "Student Survival Kit" for additional discounts. The only downfall was that they served Pepsi products. I prefer Coke. read more

This place was great in the beginning but has consistently gone down hill. Constant mess up's on orders to go, and inconsistent pizza! Pizza: Sold by the slice or pie. They offer a solid variety and the flavor is unique. Their crust has a homemade taste to it and it is definitely above average. Sides: Salads here are great. Best pizza in Eugene that we have found so far. Called in for carry out and it was ready in 20 min. Greek salad was tasty and the large portion was enough for at least 4 people. We ordered a large pepperoni and a large Marge. Both were really tasty. Would like to go in and try their lunch special. Will get my repeat business. read more

This place is wonderful. The staff, the atmosphere, the food! There is nothing that I have tried that has been bad on the menu. I haven't tried all the pizza places in town yet but so far, this place has been the best. Pizza in Eugene is pretty sad so finding this place was welcomed! No CANNED mushrooms on these pie's! I am especially fond of the roasted pepper/cashews dip sauce they have. I have it with the antipasta salad and it is just wonderful. If you know you are going to go there for lunch, you can stop by in the morning and ask them to make a certain kind of pizza too, so you can get the slice you want at lunch. For an ex-NY'er, probably as good as you can do in Eugene, which is to say Mezza Luna is one of two big fish in a woefully small pond (La Perla gets a stingey 3 stars). Like NY pizza, it's better by the slice than the whole pie, and, by asking for your slice extra crispy, you're insured against a palid, lifeless, salty-tasting lukewarmcheesetriangle. I guess it's a lot like New York, except the parmesan isn't locked to the counter like a pen at the bank. One of the best lunches around--Keep it up! read more

For an ex-New Yorker, finding edible pizza on the west coast can be a daunting task. In its heyday, Sy's Pizza in Eugene was the real deal, but time goes on and things change. I met my sister and brother-in-law at Mezza Luna although they warned that New York pizza it was not. It was busy when N. & I arrived, but luckily there was a table for four so I didn't mind having to clean it myself. We ordered a medium pizza and salad for the two of us. When it finally arrived though, it had black olives rather than green as we'd ordered. They offered to make us a new one, but we were hungry and settled for extra green olives on top. But they also threw in two free pints of beer! The pizza and salad were both generous sized. That salad would be a large anywhere else. And the pizza? Other than the taste of black olives, which I don't particularly care for, it was excellent. I'll definitely be back next time through Eugene. read more

Pizza was good. We were in town visiting on the way to Portland eventually. Just had a cheese pizza which we would rate 3 1/2 stars. This is above average pizza in a college town filled with pizza joints. My family tends to go towards the boring but honestly the pizzas with the multiple toppings looked really good. As did the salads. Would try it again and get something more adventurous than a cheese pizza. read more

This is the ONLY pizza place in Eugene, as far as I am concerned! We moved here about 2 years ago, and originally from NY, We know pizza. We tried a few local pizza places, they were all horrible. We stopped our pizza search once we tried Mezza Luna. Wow! Their pizza is so well made, the dough is amazing, and tossed with love like a true New Yorker.. The sauce is spicy and full of flavor, toppings are generous and delicious. They also have amazing salads, their small is more than big enough for 2 people, and they make their dressings from scratch. We have visited both locations many many times, and have always had consistently delicious food, and wonderful service. LOVE this place! read more
