I was in a terrible situation, the movers that I had originally planned to pack and move my household goods, cancelled on me the day they came to pack the apartment. I had frantically called around to the local movers where I lived, and ended up with My Guys. I was pleased that they had room on their schedule to fit me in on a day's notice. That should have been my first red flag. I was desperate and I definitely taken advantage of for the desperation I had in my situation. I was needing to move by the 1st of the month and it was the 26th that I was searching for a replacement moving company. I needed to be packed and moved either the same day or a two day move, which was what I had originally set up. This was the beginning of a nightmare. The truck showed up at 8am, and 4 packers were there. I showed them the apartment and what needed to be packed. They had a huge job ahead of them. Part of my things were going to storage and part were going to the new apartment. I showed the guys around and they at first said they could not do the job, that it was too much work. I was getting upset, and called the mover coordinator, Christine, and she told me not to worry. They spoke to someone on the phone and then they started to get to work. They removed my front door and started to load the truck with the boxes that were already packed- they were going to storage. They then proceeded to pack the diningroom and the den, the den was going to storage. The dining room was not, but the 2 pieces of furniture in the dining room were going to storage. I was very anxious and stayed in the kitchen which gave a partial view of what they were doing. Time went by and they were ready to move for the first load to storage and a partial load to the apartment. I went with them in my vehicle to show them to the storage room. We dropped the first part of the items in the new apartment. After going to the storage room, we returned to the apartment, were there was still one guy left packing the remaining rooms. They had not started in the bedroom, the bathroom and part of the living room was left to pack. They had a 2nd team of guys and a truck to show up. This was about 5pm and the bedroom, bathroom, linen and master closets still had not been packed. The guy that was left behind, he packed the kitchen, and the remaining parts of the diningroom and the living room. The 2nd team of guys started in the bedroom. They ended up leaving the master closet, and the coat closet in the living room. I went ahead with the team from the 1st truck to go to the new apartment, the 2nd team followed and as they were almost finished unloading the 1st truck, the 2nd truck showed up. They began unloading and before too long, both trucks were empty and my apartment was filled to the top and side to side with boxes. The majority of my furniture went to storage, with the exception of my bedroom. The dressers, the bed and nightstand went in there. I had 2 pieces of a 4 piece sectional sofa, that was here, they put the pieces on their side, as the boxes took most of the landscape on the floor in the living room. There was no place to put my sofa pieces but up against the wall, and not connected. The tv stand was placed up against the wall by the ac/heat register. A coffee table was buried in the back near the window and the patio door and my curio cabinet was facing the wall midway back towards the windows. I also had them put my upright freezer outside on the patio. Unbeknowingly, they also put boxes outside, near the windows. I was not able to gain access to the patio for about 3 weeks due to the fact that my stuff was piled up in front of the door all the way to front of the room nearest the kitchen. I am not able to lift the boxes, due to physical limitations. I finally was able to arrange to have help unpacking my things. The boxes were packed in a way, I have never seen before. Many of the boxes had words written on them, that did not match up to the contents of the boxes. They also used my linens and clothes to pad some of the items in the boxes, instead of the paper that you would use when you move. I also had found bags of my trash that had been packed. I am not sure why this crew thought that was acceptable to pack my trash. I moved the last Thursday in June. I am still unpacking boxes. I was able to get to my sectional pieces this weekend and it is obvious that they broke my sectional taking it apart. The pieces are held together with the type of mechanism one side has the flat- U shaped track that you lift the piece up that has the pin to fit into the track, slide it down and it keeps both pieces together. I was absolutely LIVID to see that my sectional was broken. It has not moved until now since I purchased it. It has never been apart and has been connected to the other piece, since it was first brought into my home. I am absolutely angry and very upset, because they broke my sectional. Working with MG moving took a lot of stress off of me! Setting up my move was easy and the team contacted me during time leading up to the actual move date to make sure everything was set and check if I needed anything else. The team of movers showed up on time, they were all very professional and got right to work. Only drawback was I had to pay for a 5 hr minimum and it only took 3.5 including the travel time. This company harassed us and threatened lawsuits after falsely claiming a move date that we didn't have. This was after we thought we got great service from them. This went on too long and caused too much stress. I was told this resulted from an automated system shift but that a person decided to make the actual threat. I have used My Guys for three moves now, and each time they have come through in a sinch. This time I used three guys as my apartment was bigger than the previous three apartments, to get me from Falls Church to Herndon, VA. The "guys" that provided my service were Ruben, who appeared to be the team lead, Miguel, who appeared to be the secondary, and Oscar, who appeared to be the new guy. All of the guys were incredibly quick, friendly, and efficient. I asked for an arrival time between 8-9 am and they arrived at my Falls Church apartment ready to go at 7:55! They got my entire apartment loaded into the truck in a little over an hour, which is fantastic timing. Everything considered, from start to finish, they were done at 11:30 am - three and a half hours. They also had great ideas in helping shape my new apartment, and not just being "yes" men that movers so often can be. As usual, My Guys is always professional. I did not feel rushed, and the job I received was quite satisfying. I was impressed with how fast they moved and yet it does not appear they left anything behind! Props again to my main man, Tony Wilson. He is a superstar. He has handled all three of my moves and so far he has hit grand slams each time I have used his services. Props also to Ruben, who was extremely amiable, smart, and patient during the entire moving day process. There is a reason My Guys is top rated when it comes to moving companies in the area. They packed and moved my moms stuff carefully with no issues. Only issue was it took much longer than anticipated and ended up costing more than expected. The crew who packed our home failed to pack everything with care resulting in many broken and damaged items, to include a prized Grandfather Clock, Entertainment Center, and much much more! The unpacking crew ignored stairwell and wall protection resulting multiple gashes in both the walls and the furniture. They even attempted to carry a wide desk through a narrow doorway. Of course, the desk was mutilated and the wall, doorway and banister suffered in the process. Our belongings were packed in the truck haphazardly. Boxes clearly marked "FRAGILE" and/or "DO NOT STACK", were on the very bottom of the pile. Although I had not completely unpacked, I filed my claim with based on what had been. To this day, I find additional mutilated items in boxes I was unable to review prior to the deadline. And, the claim offer was less than half! We have moved eight times (seven of those with the clock unscathed) in the last thirty-four years and I can say without a doubt, this has been the most negligent, destructive, and exasperating move we have experienced. There were a few positive interactions. AJ was professional, courteous and attentive. The company was somewhat supportive regarding a specific request. The staff were very amicable. For these reasons only, I generously gave the review to two stars. read more

From start to finish My Guys Movers were professional, communicative, and friendly. My move had been too big for some movers, too small for others but My Guys Movers took a look at the job and said it was no problem. We moved my bakery from our temporary location to our new permanent location. MGM accepted delivery of our new double-wide fridge from the manufacturer and delivered it straight to the new bakery on moving day. Kenny and his team were speedy and even showed up early on moving day. It got a little comical watching Jose A., Jose G., Ramon, and Whitmore attempt to get my fridge up a flight of stairs, turn it on a landing, and push it into our space, but they didn't flinch at the task and were professional the whole way through despite (I'm sure) it being not on their list of favorite jobs. So happy at the professional job of My Guys Moving and Storage. We used them in Aug 2020 for our relocation and I'm so happy we did. The guys were extremely helpful and efficient when packing our home into our U-haul. We booked the movers for loading our moving truck and they even helped get the car trailer off our rental truck. They were on time and completely careful with all of our belongings. Due to circumstances outside of our control, our new home (4 states away) was no longer suitable for us and we had to move all of our things into a storage unit. Because of the extra touch and care, all of our furniture was wrapped and ready for storage. The local moving guys had no issues unpacking the perfectly packed truck.
