Son 1 went with the western omelet which is large and stuffed with fresh vegetables, ham and cheese. The home fries are good (get the sauteed onions on top ) and the toast is toasted not just warm bread ,which i have been running into way to much lately. I had 3 eggs over easy and a couple of pancakes Italian sausage and home fries. All good. Coffee could have been a bit stronger but that's a personal preference. Word of caution regarding the pancakes. These are not IHOP pancakes. One of these monsters is probably enough unless that's all you are having. I ordered two and ended up taking one home. That doesn't happen much. At the end we saw hot wieners on the menu board for lunch and well, we never pass up a chance to try a NY System gagger. The wieners were hot and fresh, the bun soft all the way to the end and the onions stayed with me for 36 hrs. Perfect. Meat sauce was a little dry but overall a fine specimen. The place is not just for breakfast and it looks like a great spot to catch the Pats game in the fall. Ill be back.

The 3 Tacos were filled up good with tender pieces of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese & cilantro with a cup of mild taco sauce. The soft flour tortillas were a bit dry, but the tacos still tasted pretty good. The side bowl of rice & beans was very good, soft with great flavors. I finished all of the food and got the check, which was $15.10 with tax. Overall, a good filling lunch of tacos and rice. I thought about ordering the Spaghetti & Meatballs or Seafood Paella, but I would have to be really hungry. I would return here for the breakfast.

For my meat I selected steak and requested to have the toppings (pico, guacamole, and sour cream) on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. My friend ordered the birria tacos. Soon after ordering, a large party came in and really made the place upbeat. They had a soccer game playing so it was fun to eat and watch. The food came out quickly and it was hot and fresh. The chimichanga was crispy and big. It was filled with rice, beans, steak, and a couple other things. I didn't dare pick it up and eat it, but instead cut into it. It was very delicious, with all the flavors coming together nicely. The steak was tasty and tender. My friend's tacos were good, but they would have been better if they had more cheese and been crispier. The service here was excellent and the prices are fair. It seems they have a bar area in the back. They have a large parking lot to the left of the building, across the street but there is also street parking.

When we're craving something a little more thoughtful than the standard eggs-and-toast routine, this is where we land. The menu is creative without being over the top, the flavors are usually dialed in, and it consistently feels like brunch with intention. This last visit, however, turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. We sat at the bar around 1pm, which is our usual move. The service was great. We were welcomed right away and had drinks in front of us in no time. I ordered a draft Blue Moon and my partner went with a glass of wine. Both were cold, fresh, and exactly what they should be. We started with the lemon ricotta donuts. These were delightful. The texture was spot on, tender and light thanks to the ricotta, with that perfect sugar coating. I would have loved a slightly more assertive lemon flavor in the dough itself, but they smartly included thinly sliced lemon rind on top so you could dial it up yourself. A thoughtful touch and a really nice way to begin the meal. My partner ordered the avocado toast for her main and it was as beautiful as it was flavorful. The sourdough had a great chew and structure, the avocado was well seasoned, and the sprinkle of cotija brought just the right salty pop. Bright tomatoes, pickled onions, microgreens, everything worked together. This dish absolutely delivered. I went with the Eggs Benedict Florentine, which I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it missed the mark in a few areas. First, the poached eggs. The whites were a bit loose in spots and the yolks were slightly overdone. I know poaching can be tricky, it took me a while to master at home, but it was surprising to see the interior more cooked than expected while parts of the white still lacked structure. It was manageable, just not what I've come to expect here. Next was the mustard hollandaise. I was really looking forward to that punch of mustard, especially since I've had it shine before, but this time it felt muted. It was also looser than I prefer in a hollandaise. I love a good hollandaise, even better a béarnaise, and this one just didn't have the richness or body I was hoping for. Then there was the tomato. I understand we're not in peak tomato season, but even so, I can usually find more flavorful options at local markets and grocery stores. It appeared to be a standard beefsteak, and it just didn't bring much to the plate. A Campari or another variety with more natural sweetness and acidity would have elevated the dish and complemented the nicely cooked, flavorful spinach far better. On a positive note, the bolo was excellent. Such a great choice over the traditional English muffin and a perfect fit for a local spot like this. It had great texture and the slight sweetness usually balances the mustard hollandaise perfectly. Overall, Avenue N remains a place we truly enjoy.
