    tacos and hookah

Love Terra Negra. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great drinks, vibes, & food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a variety of cocktails to try - I usually order a margarita with fish tacos for my entree. Delicious. They also provide complimentary chips and salsa. They offer hookah - several different flavors so if you don't like hookah this might be a turnoff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love coming here with friends, sitting outside on the patio during the warmer weather or inside where the music is blasting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I honestly don't think the music is that loud compared to other lounges and restaurants in the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service also fast and friendly as well. Also, try their mango sorbet dessert with tajin!

Wow! This is an adorable spot! However, it's so much more! They have some of the best steak tacos I've ever had! Go for taco Tuesday---they're $2 each! The margaritas are amazing and massive! The waitress we had, Italia, was amazing! She took great care of us! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is a must check out----great food, drinks, service and ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a 10 out of 10!

I visited this place during the taco mania fest. Terra Negra Cantina and Terra Luna Cafe are owned by the same people. Terra Negra focuses on Mexican cuisine, while Terra Luna offers Dominican, Puerto Rican, and Colombian dishes. I'm not sure why they weren't combined into one restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance inside is quite nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the Al Pastor and Chicken Tinga tacos. I wasn't a fan of the Al Pastor tacos, but the Chicken Tinga ones were good. The toppings were abundant. Overall, it was a good experience.

This was our 2nd time at the restaurant and honestly we should go more often. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One tip is if you want to avoid big crowds, go on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursdays. All the other days can be more of a party vibe if that's what you are looking for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food: - guacamole: this was good and fresh-ish. It was cold which felt like it was refrigerated. Other than that the flavor was good. Could use more salt and spices though. - Al pastor tacos was good as a whole. However the pork can be chopped down to a smaller size and marinated more. I would still order it again. - the chicken tinga tacos were good but could use more seasoning. - the chicken flautas: omg! U gotta come hungry for this one. It's massive! But it's tasty and with some hot sauce it's even better. - birra burger: another massive one! They don't skim on the portion for this. It's a good burger and cheesy as well. Comes with fries. Service: Both times that we went, the servers were really nice and attentive. So complaints there. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the vibe and the decor! It's so cute. I can see where it can be a cozy vibrant chill spot but it can also turn into a party Miami scene quick lol it's multiple faceted lol[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would definitely return again.

Went to Terra Negra for dinner, on a Friday night, wasn't busy so got sat right away. My husband took a lot time deciding but waitress was nice and understanding. She brought us a free shot of birria broth; ive never had it and was delicious. Mt husband got a mango mojito, tasted like a pina colada. He got steak and fries, came with a side (he picked salad) but also rice and beans. Lots of food. He wasn't impressed with the steak, said had lots of nerves, but i tried it and seasoned really well. I had a steak salad, was good, just felt like missing something! Maybe avocado would of made it better but was still good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a nice place, big bar, cosy and dark[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Would recommend it for dates. There is other sitting areas for groups too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Outside is bright. Very slow business wise. Service is a bit slow. I got the flight of margaritas. Very nice. This is a new place. Traffic is slow because it's tucked away. Of the reviews on here are for the restaurant next door owned by same person but not this place. I would have tried food but server change at 5 and I didn't want to start over. I can't give more stars based on alcohol alone. This place has potential just give them a shot. Good luck.

This is a long overdue review of this restaurant. I came here with my friend on a Tuesday because I saw their taco Tuesday advertisement on instagram. On Tuesday they offer 2$ tacos and 5$ shots, and honestly the 2$ tacos sounded so good to us. The restaurant has plenty of street parking, but there is not any parking garage nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has an outdoor setting as well as an indoor one, due to the windy weather we opted for indoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (I think it is important to mention that they check ID's before entering so you have to be 21+ to enter). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside interior is very casual but very nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant Is of a decent size and the ambiance is lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is loud music playing throughout the night and if you don't like that then this place is not for you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really loved how they played different genres of music like rap, Afro beats, Spanish music and dancehall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now for the most important part: the FOOD. I ordered a cheese quesadilla because unfortunately the 2$ taco deal did not offer shrimp or fish tacos and I am a pescatarian. My friend took advantage of the 2$ deal and ordered plenty of tacos which they said were delicious and filling. The part I enjoyed the most about my dinner was their delicious cocktails. I ordered a mango margarita and not only it tasted amazing it was also of a very generous size. Overall im my experience at Terra Negra in Providence was great. Can't wait to be back!

No need for a reservation. We ordered the Carnitas, chicken, and pork tacos all of them were very good. Pork burrito is huge, very flavorful. I had the Chicken Cesar salad comes with dressing on the side for your convenience shredded lettuce and small croutons which I love! Mexican fries with chicharron were amazing! Comes with crema, nacho cheese and avocado which is the perfect bite. I personally would add pico and jalapeños. Keep in mind if you ask for water it is a $5 bottle of still water. 15% gratuity automatically added but the service by Valeria was top tier. She was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. Great service, great music, and $10 hookahs! Count me in!

What a cool spot located in one of Providence's most iconic spots - De Pasquale Square! We visited as part of RI Food Fights TacoMania challenge & sat at the beautiful bar, which allowed us to chat with the bartender all about this newer spot. She gave many good suggestions about dishes to try. With fun, festive lighting & decor, this would make a great spot to meet friends for an evening of cocktails & eats. The tacos we tried, a shrimp & a birria, we're delicious! We also ordered nachos, which would have benefitted from fresh cheese sauce and chips instead of pre-made packaged ingredients. The menu has many interesting items with an Oaxacan flair & some great week night specials. We look forward to returning to try more!

Was not too impressed. Wanted to order something light since I would be seeing friends right after, so I ordered the nachos. They looked like Tostitos Bite Sized chips and the cheese was like nacho cheese/cheese sauce... did not seem authentic at all and just hastily put together. After dining outside, I got the check and was surprised to see this 15% service charge?? Did not understand what that was for. Did not bother asking since my friend and I were heading somewhere after. To top it off, I saw a tiny mouse running around while we were dining outside. Not to blame the restaurant, but it didn't help with my experience. I'd definitely give this restaurant another chance- but might go for take out or delivery instead.

    Chicharron and Chicken Tinga tacos

I've been coming to Terra Negra for a while now, and the food and service has always been excellent. Today I stopped by for the RI Food Fights Tacomania event, and it just happened to be Taco Tuesday ($2 per taco). I had quite a few tacos, but my favorites were the chicken tinga and the chicharron tacos. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came early enough to avoid the dinner rush, so it was nice and quiet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As always the staff was great and the food was awesome. Highly recommended!

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. A time at Clementine's is always wonderful.

It's best for small groups (no more than 4-5). I love the customer service here: our server explained the alcohol as we got each of our cocktails. I will admit, though, because I'm slightly hard of hearing, I missed a lot of the explanations, but that's ok. I came in a group of four and we all took sips of each other's drinks and that was really fun! Every drink was great, but I do favor my sake drink, white port/cream soda cocktail, the vermouth, and the one with the amaretto. Don't expect the menus to be the same as in this review! They do change it frequently and have non-alcoholic mocktails, too. We heard about this place from coworkers and that they had won an award for best new bar--an award that's well-deserved.

From our arrival, the hospitality was top tier. Warm, welcoming, unrushed. The space itself is cozy and intimate, with this beautifully curated burnt-orange vibe that feels a like a 1930s-40s Cuban lounge. Even the staff subtly matched the aesthetic and color scheme. You can tell a ton of thought went into every detail of this place. Every cocktail we tried was creative, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. Presentation was beautiful without being gimmicky. One of the hosts/servers took the time to explain each drink. We also tried the flan. It was silky, perfectly set, just sweet enough: 10/10. Once there, we learned that Loma's Latino-owned, and that heritage is subtly celebrated throughout--from their curated Salsa playlist on the high def sound system to their inclusion of Latin American flavors and ingredients in their menu. Oh and one of the details we loved most: there's no big wall of liquor bottles on display like you see in most places. They keep only a few featured spirits visible and tuck everything else away, which gives the whole space a more intimate, upscale, almost homey feel. In short: impeccable vibes, genuinely warm hospitality, gorgeous space, incredible drinks, and thoughtful details everywhere. Loma is exactly the kind of bar you hope to stumble upon when traveling--and the kind that makes you wish you lived closer. A must-visit. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

A lovely woman in the restroom overheard my friend and I unsure on where to venture, and she suggested this place! Moody and welcoming. Absolutely loved it. We went in ~10:45 on a Wednesday pm. Apparently they do live jazz weekly as well, but we'd come too late. A handful of bar patrons, a couple making out in the back of the dining room at their cute table, a lovely bartender, me& my bff. We really hit the jackpot for ambiance last night. Decor in there is so cute. I wish I took a picture of the table lamp on the bar. It was embellished with beads hanging on the rim of the shade. Our drinks were top notch. Mine was a citrus vanilla profile and hers was a savory martini. The sandwich, I had one bite of it was yummy. I don't like imitation lunch meats though. CATFISH was breaded and fried fabulously. Not oily. Crispy and crunchy. So happy to have discovered this place! The bartender told us they just celebrated 6 years of business!
