Mi Dia from Scratch... where to start? The wonderful table side guacamole- with BACON?! The extensive mixed drink menu- phenomenal and creative drinks? The attentive and knowledgeable server, Spencer? We ordered several of their mixed drinks. They have a special brunch menu on the weekends. The menu includes special mixed drinks only served on the weekends. We tried the Senor Jalapeño, Blueberry Habanero Margarita, British Invasion, Canyon Road Sunrise, Jalisco Express and Hell Frozen Over. They were all very delicious and creative- very unique! The table side guacamole was legend - wait for it - ary, it was LEGENDARY! It had bacon in it!! Anything with bacon is a winner! They left the guacamole in the mortar and a large wooden spoon. It seemed very authentic and was delicious. We made sure to finish it! Our main dishes were the Xmas Burrito and Carne Asada. The burrito was packed with flavor and huge! It was stuffed with steak, rice, and sour cream and your basic burrito toppings, tomato, lettuce etc... chile sauce, green chile sauce topped the burrito and gave it a bit of a kick on the finish. It was wonderful. The Carne Asada was served with a big scoop of fresh guacamole, charro beans and Spanish rice. The charro beans were excellent! I had ordered the steak medium rare, but since it's such a thin cut it was cooked more like medium/ medium well. I won't hold that against them since the cut is difficult to cook rare. It was still delicious. I will be honest we didn't eat much of our entrees- we were pretty stuffed from our guacamole! Spencer, our server, delivered some of the best service I have had in a long time! He suggested a few of the drinks we had and he was spot on to our taste. He was attentive and personable. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy our appetizers and drinks before ordering our entrees. We spent about an hour and half there, most of that time was eating guac and sipping on our splendiforous drinks! We will definitely be back and hope to grab Spencer as our server again! Delicious margaritas and a phenomenal patio when weather in Texas allows. One of our favorites!

Food was decent, nothing special. . However, I've never felt more unwanted in any other restaurant as I felt here. Thursday at 6pm... no one waiting for a table and felt so rushed to leave and empty the table. Our bill was $87 plus tip... waiter came around at least 6 times to interrupt our conversation....reached around to clear our table...Will never come back here again... one and done! read more

Mi Dia features a WIDE array of flavorful dishes with a festive atmosphere with large indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended. Ensure you're calling a day or two ahead if possible. For starters their Queso Fundido, Ceviche, and Tableside Guacamole are great options. For entrees you can't go wrong with the Chilean Sea Bass, which is cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Skip the rack of ribs unless you like dry rubbed seasoning with very little flavor. It was the first entree I had at Mi Dia while all my other co workers ordered the Sea Bass and I was sad for the rest of the night. On the second visit, I didn't make the same mistake and ordered the Bass. :) I would have added that one extra star to Mi Dia but I refrained as their service can be hit or miss. Perhaps it's because the restaurant is so busy but sometimes requests for refills, or additional items took some time to arrive or never did, prompting a second and even third request. However, I'll overlook the small service gaps and make a third visit to Mi Dia in the future. read more

I love the food at Mi Dia and always have. Tonight I met some friends for my birthday to have dinner and drinks. After we ordered drinks we were told our waiter was shifting tables and we got a new waiter. Right after that we had a bowl of guacamole delivered to our table. We told our new waiter that we did not order that and he said that was okay, he guesses that it was a mistake and we should enjoy since he couldn't take it back with Covid and all. So we started to eat it and two minutes later he came back to inform us that if we wanted to continue enjoying it, we would need to pay for it. We told him no thank you and he said his manager said he needed to take it away and throw it in the trash. I was honestly shocked. It was admittedly not our mistake, we were celebrating a birthday with presents out in the open that he could see, and he said that he was going to have to remove it from our table and throw it in the trash unless we wanted to pay for it now. When we said that it was quite frankly bad customer service he said he had no choice. So we let him take it and throw it away. I'm honestly still in shock. I've never seen anything like that happen before. The drinks and food were amazing as usual but after this incident I'm not sure I will be returning. If that is how customers are treated, especially on their birthday, regrettably it is not a place I want to spend my money at. read more

Went in for margaritas and a quick nachos. Sat at the bar was immediately greeted by some friendly bartenders . She made a few recommendations , and those were awesome . Great food and great service. We went here on a Friday and it gets very crowded, but the wait wasn't too long. Fajita nachos were delicious. They're all individually made and not a pile of stuff. Ordered the Mucho Plato dinner to share and it was plenty of food with some left over. The tortillas were home made and the bacon wrapped shrimp was perfect. The pork ribs were " fall off the bone," but didn't have much seasoning or flavor. Overall though still the best food we had during our stay in the Fort Worth area. My husband and I stopped here for a last Mexican food meal before he leaves for Europe for 2 years, because our go-to place was closed. I have to say, I am SO. GLAD. we did! The food was phenomenal. My husband got a Tex-Mex dish and it was delicious, but we were also incredibly impressed with the special of the day, which was a pork shank taco... it had all the amazing traditional real Mexican flavors I could want, I really felt like my ancestors would have been proud of that dish. And the Chili Arbol sauce that came with the queso fundido- oh my god. I wanted a bottle of it to take home. It's a beautiful sauce. Our waiter was also outstanding and really took great care of us, including sending us home with extra chips and salsa for our leftovers. Found this hidden gem and decided to check it out. We haven't found really good Mexican food in Dallas but today the search ended. We LOVE LOVE this place - the food, the ambience, the service. I couldn't eat all my food but everything was spectacular. The table side guacamole was outstanding . Let me tell you a little bit about BRANDON so when you go in there be sure to ask for BRANDON. The service that he provides is outstanding and attentive. Seriously though , The quality of the service experience is what makes a meal. It's not always just the food, sometimes you can have fantastic food and poor service and the whole meal goes straight to hell but in this case it was a fantastic balance of great food and great service that made for a symphony . Now let me be honest - my flan is better than theirs but they have a pretty awesome flan. So, they have fancy sounding food and fancy tasting food but they have the best service . It has been a long time since I have been back to Mi Día. I've stayed away because if you try to go at a normal meal time, you're gonna wait - a long time. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of 6 or more. I figured 2 pm on a Saturday would be safe. And it was. We got right in. The food is pretty good, although pretty pricey. They offer brunch on the weekends until 3 pm! I ordered the carnitas street tacos, and I thought they were pretty flavorless. My husband ordered a brunch menu item - chiliquilles. They were a bit strange. Chicken was at the bottom of the bowl, topped with a ton of tortilla chips (not strips). Then the eggs. And it was all covered in a red mole- like sauce. Kinda strange. My kiddo ordered the chimichanga. It was pretty good, but overpriced. I can't say that I'm dying to come back to Mi Dia. The wait, the prices, turn me off. read more

I was thoroughly impressed by Mi Dia from Scratch. Not only do they craft unique dishes, they execute them with excellence. I was able to try both the Steak and Relleno and Duck Carnitas Tacos. Both dishes were phenomenal. The steak was cooked a spot on medium rare, and the cheese filled Chile relleno on top with dual salsa made paired perfectly with the dish. The Duck Carnitas Tacos has a flavor unlike I've ever tried. The Duck was rich and the salsa they had to put on top had a great sweet/heat balance to it. The tortillas were good, but not great. The one down note is that the prices are fairly steep ($24 for the steak and relleno and $16 for the Duck Carnitas) and the portions are not very big. However if you're willing to drop a few extra dollars, the taste of the dishes are there! read more

They have a TON of different tequilas to choose from all of which can go into one of their many margaritas. Very tasty. The food was delicious. Seriously very good. My only complaint is that it was also kinda 'pretty food' meaning it looked great and tasted great, but there wasn't a ton of it. Do not know why we waited so long to try out this place! Just love the atmosphere! The huge windows looking onto the patio brings the inside in! We sat at the bar to enjoy happy hour. Love that it's in the middle of the restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the chips and salsa! The salsa was the best! Great flavor! At the bar, you get complimentary queso. It was good but thought it was odd that it came in three tiny bowls. I had the Baja Shrimp Street Tacos. Very good but beware the roasted jalapeño-lime salsa is very hot!
