Had a two crispy beef taco lunch. The beef was good quality. Sides, rice and black beans portions were generous. Resonable priced.

Time has improved our favorite Mexican place in West County. The ingredients are fresh and it shows. The portions are large, including the awesome margaritas. Chips and salsa are really good. There is about a 15 minute wait almost every night we have ever come here but never anything obnoxious. The food arrives in a timely manner and the service is always nice, professional and smiling faces. TLDR: If you are on this side of town this is the Mexican place of choice for quality, price, and service. Huge parking lot as in the Rite Aid strip mall. read more

First time here, good food with friendly, efficient service. And liked the happy hour 3-7 beverage specials! Ordered a combo plate with Chicken flauta, beef burrito and pork enchilada with verde sauce - meal served hot and included black beans (or refried beans) and rice. It was a good, filling meal. Also ordered an ala carte Chile Relleno, which had lots of gooey melted cheese stuffed inside, tasty and freshly made! Finally just want to mention the house salsa, which had a very nice, spicy flavor and went well with both chips and the entrees. Good eats, will go back again. Enjoy! read more

I go with my sister in law Pat every week, it's our go to place. Food & service are always good and we love their Shrimp fajitas. Try their Cadillac Margarita they are always excellent. Probably of the worst "Mexican" food we've ever had. We had the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. We both thought he cheese tasted plastic. The tortillas were bad, like bad grocery store ones put in the microwave. There was nothing put on the tacos for flavor besides the plastic cheese. They reminded me of when I put nothing but pre-shredded cheddar cheese on a tortilla and microwaved it out of desperation when I was 13. The rice and beans were not memorable. And if I remember correctly, they had signs on the tables stating they charge for a second basket of chips. There were so many other places we could have gone; it was a real shame we ended up here. read more

I am not a huge fan of Mexican in general so the 4 star are courtesy of my husband who can judge Mexican food without bias. Kids meals are small-ish - my 2 older kids were still hungry after cleaning their plates (kids burrito and enchilada). My husband ordered pollo asada. He enjoyed it. I ordered shrimp tacos which I should have known better because another local place makes the best ever. I think serving them with cheese threw me off (shellfish and cheese?). The grilled shrimp had a good flavor but it wasn't treated like a shrimp taco... It had all of the toppings of a normal beef taco. Great food had the huevos rancheros chorizo. Very tasty and spicy. Service was excellent. The beans were not as tasty as my last time here and the guacamole that my wife ordered never came. I used to come here a lot a couple years ago. I recently went with my boyfriend and the prices have gotten pretty outrageous for what the food is (bland). The service was also not good. Our waiter asked for our IDs in a rude tone already assuming we are underaged (we are not) and then when the margarita came out he spilled it and just quickly wiped it away without saying anything and still left a puddle on our table and also didn't replace the chips that the margarita had spilled on. read more

Chips and salsa are top notch! Salsa very flavorful and chips aren't greasy or too salty. They are thicker than normal and almost tasted baked instead of fried. The fajita shrimp and chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chicken was marinated in some kind of pepper and herbs and moiste. Couldn't find any faults. Rice and black beans also very tasty. My wife got cheese and beef enchiladas. Both were good. The sauce soaked into the tortillas so there wasnt much left on top. She would prefer sauce. Went for lunch with my daughter and son in law today. I had chicken enchiladas with green sauce. The tortilla edges were sort of stale. My daughter had chicken burritos and said they were "ok". My son in law had red enchilada and tamale. Again, it was just "ok". read more

I ordered Carnitas tonight. Never again. Floating in grease. Awful. I should have sent them back but we were with friends we were seeing for the first time over the holiday. How can you send something to the table that has so much grease floating on them. We had this same problem here years ago with taco salads that were full of grease and promised ourselves we would never eat there again. Somebody needs to tell me what the attraction is with Ballwin/Ellisville and wolves. Overall, you won't be disappointed with choosing Mi Lupita. If I could give more stars I would! The quality of food and service is always top notch but my visit today made me understand why. I arrived after being stuck in a snow storm at 1:28 with a sign on the door that they are closing at 2pm FULLY expecting a staff that was annoyed by my presence to make a to go order and a get a margarita while it waited. The bartender took a few minutes to get to me but that was because they were very short staffed. He was happy to see me (rather being annoyed like I expected) and let me know about the lunch specials. I mentioned I was happy to see they were closing early and my visit will be quick so he can get home as soon as possible and safely and he told me no worries, his family owns this place and it is him and his mom now, employees were already sent home and they both live very close to the restaurant. When I tried to tell him that I thought that was amazing of them to put their safety first he almost cut me off telling me what neighborhoods they lived were further away than his and he said the staff is why the restaurant is successful it made my heart smile. Food was again WONDERFUL and I walked away with the added warm fuzzies and value of knowing my money went towards a local business and family that cares about their employees. I randomly found this place searching for a lunch spot between clients. First of all, I loved the salsa! It was flavorful and I also requested a hotter variety. I hate salsa that's too chunky or tastes like tomato sauce with onion bits. I had a couple of tacos a la carte and they were delicious! The service was fast and friendly. We've been doing carryout from here for the past year and a half during the pandemic. We cook almost every other night, but sometimes we just need an excuse to order Mi Lupita! It's soooo good. If you cannot handle spicy foods, be careful as the salsa does have a kick to it. I really wanted to like this place and despite this first review, I will give them another try. Skip the nachos supreme as they only give you about 5 chips total, and they were completely soggy, but the taste was on point. Then came the dinner, which was incorrect from what I ordered. It did come out pretty fast the second time and again flavor is unique and amazing. The waitress also took my drink and said she would refill, but after half my meal was gone, I had to ask her to actually bring the refill. Get the shrimp taco, but the grilled steak and grilled chicken taco were not bad either. The pollo loco was tasty too. The cheese enchilada was not too bad. All said and done, I would recommend this place based on the flavor. We shall see if my next visit turns out better, which I hope it does... read more
