This place is getting better and better! The location isn't great and it used to be smelly inside. We went a couple days ago because we didn't want to drive 30 mins to the other locations and the other mi pueblos close for a couple hours mid afternoon. So this place was open and nice and clean and food was equally good. Service was great! Beer and wine only and has a happy hour. Had unlimited chips and salsa--another plus! Had a $12 order of nachos that were great but super small-not worth the price but the entrees are great reasonably priced and you can mix and match with beans and rice. We did the meal with a variety of tacos and enchiladas and added a third for $1 (took that home). No complaints here and they dont close mid day! Will definitely be back. Go! read more

Cute little hole in the wall found in a strip mall. From the outside it seems unassuming. Inside is clean and cozy. The service was fantastic! Very friendly host and server. LOVE that they have a great selection of Jarrito's bottled beverages. Ordered the lunch special of steak fajitas with homemade tortillas. FABULOSA!! The steak was tender and juicy, the plate was served with just the right amount of beans, rice, and fixings. Definitely recommend. Especially after a morning at the beach. read more

The service was outstanding, they were very kind and constantly checking in on us. The ambiance is a typical Mexican restaurant but far more homey, less people and less noise. The decoration were tasteful and the seating was good. Now on to the best part... the food. The queso was some of the best I've had, it was so flavorful, the consistency was thicker than the normal broken ones, which I LOVED. The elotes were very yummy, I just wish they had more seasoning on them. I got the veggie fajitas and they had such a great mix of different veggies cooked to perfection, I ate the whole thing! My mom got the street taco sampler and she loved it, she didn't have to choose which single one she wanted and got to try everything. We will definitely be going back!! read more

I used to eat here a lot and recently went in, with an outside bag of chips because I now have Celiac, an ADA disability. Since Mi Pueblo fries their chips in a common fryer with other gluten items, I can't eat the restaurant provided "free" chips. All Sarasota area restaurants have always kindly accommodated my needs but sadly, Mi Pueblo refused to accommodate my disability and allow me to eat my safe chips citing a health code issue. Kept circle the table to check I wasn't eating them. Very short sighted given the enormity of food allergies these days. Sadly, I won't be going back. read more

They were both delicious My granddaughter ordered the children's soft chicken taco. She loved hers too. We also ordered two Sangrias during happy hour half price. Great! My husband and I have been there in the past but yesterday went for lunch with a friend. I ordered two grouper tacos. When they came, the piece of fish was so tiny, absolutely no seasoning, and cold. There was no toppings on the taco, except for avocado and some canned pineapple. It was tasteless and very disappointing. I asked for some lettuce, tomato and sour cream to give it some flavor and they charged me. So all in all, it was $18 for two tiny, flavorless, unappetizing tacos. Incredibly disappointed. The chicken al Carbone was very dry and tough, the queso wasn't hot and had a skin on top from sitting. The service was less than attentive. I usually go to the one on University and Tuttle, and after the meal last night, I'll make the trip there before retuning to the Bee Ridge location. I ordered thru Uber Eats to local hotel. Delivery service was fine. Food was not. Menu was not clear as to whether you receive chips and salsa with order so I ordered 12 ( or 16 oz?) of salsa and extra chips. Chips were stale and salsa had little flavor. I ordered the chicken fajitas. Plenty of chicken but again little flavor and chicken was tough. Vegetables were crisp- I like mine a little softer but that's just personal preference. Rice and beans were just meh. I also ordered extra pico- too watery and the jalapeño's were chopped so fine they were virtually non existent! Everything was amazing! From the service to the food. Appetizer was amazing and unfortunately we were so happy & excited because they were literally so delicious that we forgot to take a photo. We ordered the stuffed jalapeños to begin. We seriously contemplated getting a second order of them! The salsa & guac was phenomenal I especially loved the guac it was seriously the best I've ever had. My enchilada espinacas was so amazing too- I had never had this at other restaurants. We first came to this Mi Pueblo in 2003 and have come numerous times each winter. We sold our southern home in 2023 and are visiting for two weeks. I liked it We headed over to Mi Pueblo a couple of days ago for dinner. We got right in and within seconds of sitting down we met our server while someone else was dropped off chips and salsa. Great start to our visit. I decided on one of their house specials, Bistek Tampico, which turned out to be a thin piece of chargrilled sirloin steak topped with ranchero sauce and cheese. The meat covered most of my large plate and was accompanied with rice and refried beans. It was very good, I'm very pleased with myself for picking such a good entrée. Service continued to be very good, attentive and upbeat. The place had a nice Mexican feel, it wasn't as colorful as other places can be, but still had the tile floor and Corona signs. It was a bit noisy when we first arrived, then quieted down once a large group finished. I keep saying I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but more and more I wonder if I'm lying to myself. it's so hard to find good service and excellent food nowadays. Mi Pueblo always delivers. my boyfriend and i frequent the University location, but we wanted a cozier vibe so we went to the Bee Ridge location. we were greeted, sat down, drink orders taken & chips and salsa on the table in under a minute of entering the restaurant! they had almost a full house and yet everything came out perfectly and quickly. you truly can't find this level of service or food hardly anywhere else. we will continue coming back for years to come. read more

We ordered delivery on toast and our driver never picked up the order. Before we ever showed up they made sure there was no cheese on my wife's, who has a lactose allergy, food after calling. BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT! I had dinner here last night and took a couple of bites and it tasted awful. I just stopped eating and left. About 3 am I was violently throwing up which continued through the night. I knew something was wrong when I tasted it because I've been here several times before. This review is specific to Mi Pueblo on Bee Ridge Road. This charming, Mexican feel restaurant was very disappointing. Stale tortilla chips and thick, tomato paste consistency salsa which tasted heavily of garlic from a jar is not the way to begin a meal. I mostly frequent their restaurant on Tuttle & University which never disappoints, however time did not permit the extra traveling. My combination plate of tamale, enchilada was accompanied with rice and refried beans. The sauces were sparse making both dishes a little dry and the salsa too dreadful to top it with. The refried beans were soupy and tasteless. Maybe just an off day or the chef was out but no excuse for stale chips. However, the service was good and nice atmosphere...just drink a lot of sangria and pass on the chips & salsa. read more

Celebrated my 75th birthday here with family, and everyone was happy. Even got a free glass of wine. Staff is efficient and friendly -- some have been there for 20 years since it opened. Honestly i now there's a difference in Mexican food, but when i walked in to place an order to go, i was hopping it was going to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. When i asked for a steak burrito. She said well what we have is like steak fajitas but wrapped in a tortilla. So i placed my order and sad that it had NO flavor, the rice was so bland and no flavor. So i ordered a steak burrito and 3 steak very simple tacos with rice & beans and it was $29.00 so but i know the cost of Mexican food and that was certainly NOT worth it.. there are many other restaurants that offer much more for value & flavor.. we will NOT be returning there.. read more

Although we were told 35-40 minute wait for 6 people, it was only 15 minutes. (This location is more suited for 2-4 people with only a few larger tables.) it was not very busy at all. The more experienced host got creative and grabbed a smaller table from the overflow area to extend a 4-top. Our server, Francisco, was prompt and courteous with his service. Refills were timely on both chips and drinks. The food was delicious although the chicken fajitas could've been in smaller pieces. Either that or give me larger tortillas. And the skillet could've used more onions than green peppers. The decor was very cool with lots of copper pieces. Overall, a place I will come back to when in Sarasota. read more

It's a very small dining room. Add a Marachi band and you go deaf too. Chips were stale, asked about it but they claimed they were fresh. After several baskets, with a group, it was still stale. Plus the tasteless, watery salsa did not help. Do not order the large Guacamole appetizer, $7.50 for one avocado. That's what it taste like, just avocado. Blah. My enchilada dinner was just as tasteless. It was also luke warm. Rest of the group food was just ok. Nothing worth returning for. Heard their other place downtown is better. Very disappointed, except for the service. Don't go on Tuesday nights or you won't be able to talk either. The 6 piece band is way too large and loud, with trumpets in your ear and blocking the aisles, though good musicians, we tipped them double, kept hoping they would break. Oh, watch out for the servers. Guy dripped hot oil on my daughters arm, delivering the fajitas, thank goodness she had a long sleeve sweater on, bad news, the stain won't wash out. Nice friendly family Mexican resultant. The food is quick and good. I had enchiladas, and tacos for my main dish. The fried tacos here are so cute inside a clams shell shaped shell. The shell was nice and crispy I wished I ordered more. We also had queso and guacamole the portions of those dips were large so prepare to share. I was so disappointed today on my order from Mi Pueblos on Bee Ridge road . I ordered Carne Asada to go and when I got home which I only live 3 minutes from restaurant the food was not hot it was warm . If im gonna spend $20 for food I expect it to be hot with tip and tax it was $25 and then I called and spoke to manager Carlos who said they can't cook it hot like they do at restaurant because it would melt the plastic container that they use .
