I brought family from Missouri to this restaurant. I am very embarrassed I did. I played it safe with ordering rolled chicken tacos. My tacos had been cooked twice. Ends of chicken were extra crispy. The beans and rice had been plopped onto plate very sparingly. Had been under a heat lamp so long the cheese was hard nearly burnt. Canned beans for sure. Rice was decent texture but nothing special 2 of our family guests liked their dishes 3 of us did not. But this place needs some help. read more

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch after touring Meteor Crater. Should have eaten elsewhere. Food OK, only 1 lady serving 5 tables in the entire place. Took 25 minutes to place an order, took another 15 minutes to get food....still without our drinks, but waitress managed to get the table next to us their 2nd round of beers before we got served any drinks. We had been looking everywhere for somewhere that just had red chile and green chile bowls only and this place was it. Both chiles were fantastic as was the fresh churro. They're being very careful about not letting anyone jnto the restaurant and wearing masks etc which made me feel good about their COVID safety. Highly recommend. read more

Driving along in the middle of nowhere Arizona and looked up restaurants, saw Mi Pueblo in Winslow and decided to stop based on reviews. Chips and salsa are unlimited and delicious. Salsa is spicy (not fresca, but still super yummy). Ordered the recommended Flaco's tacos (ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes on grilled then slighty fried flour tortillas. SOOOO good! Authentic locally owned Mexican restaurant just across the road from our hotel. Waitress was very nice and food was prepared fresh. Restaurant was very clean and there were a few tables with locals enjoying a meal. My husband was happy yo have Tecate! Food was a little too spicy for us. The salsa was very hot so I ordered some pico de gallo thinking it might not be as hot. Wrong and filled with jalapenos. After a long day on the road, we stopped at Best Western for the night. I looked up restaurants on Yelp, and Mi Pueblo came up with great reviews, and it's right across the street from the hotel. So we gave it a try. It was excellent. Family owned and ran, authentic Mexican food. Hubby and I shared a dinner plate with 2 tacos, 2 enchiladas and rice and beans. It was plenty for the two of us and the price for such a large plate can't be beat. The refried beans were amazing! And the ground beef tacos were probably the best I've had from a restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. Such a nice surprise and so close the the hotel. The only little bitty complaint I have is they only serve beer. No other alcoholic drinks. But that's ok. Water is better for me anyway. read more

And the Mother in law did the cooking. Beer served at this location with meals. Very reasonably priced. We will return. As of today (4/10) they are not yet offering dine-in, so I called in a carry-out order from the parking lot. I just wanted a quick and easy meal, so I got a quesadilla with chicken. It was prepared quickly and brought out by a masked employee. I'm staying at the Best Western, which is just across the street, so Mi Pueblo is certainly convenient for weary travelers like me, who have just pulled off I-40 and just need a quick bite. The quesadilla was just what I needed, and I'd say had just the right amount of cheese and chicken. Everything was piping hot without being a melted mess. Also, I was happy the tortillas were "dry" - To me there is nothing worse than a greasy quesadilla! Bonus: they included a bag of freshly made tortilla chips - thin and delicious with a touch of salt. My only complaint is I'm used to quesadillas being served with guacamole and sour cream, and neither was included with my order. Not sure if those condiments are just a big chain restaurant thing, but for me their absence knocked a star off my experience. read more

We were very tired from driving and simply wanted some casual, cheap food. Mi Pueblo was across the street from the Best Western. We walked over and just relaxed. Our server was attentive, very friendly and quite pleasant. We immediately got some warm chips and flavorful salsa. After receiving our nice cold bottled beers we ordered dinner.All the portions were huge and the prices very reasonable . The "tacos de lengua" (4) were well prepared and quite tasty while the "platillo Mexicano" could feed a small army. We were more than satisfied. This is a down home inexpensive, homey restaurant. Everything we ordered was great 5 different meals, missing 1star because of service, I would eat here again any time I'm in the area.

What a hidden gem! When traveling back to California on Route 66 we found this place on yelp and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious!! We stopped here after driving most of the day and were pleasantly surprised. The chips arrived at the table warm and promptly. The hot sauce was very good. I went so far as to purchase some to take home. They accommodated my special requests without much trouble. The rest of my family ordered straight from the menu. My teenage son said his pork burrito enchilada style was the best he'd ever had. That's some compliment! I ordered sides of the red and green sauces for my cubes of grilled steak and was charged 2$ each. I thought that was a bit excessive but was not clear before ordering. I DO NOT recommend eating this, as the chili relleno was disappointing. The tamales were not fantastic and the Taco was ok. I did not eat the enchilada and the pork chop was dry and under cooked. I'd seen mixed reviews of this place, but decided to try it, and I'm glad I did. The decor is pretty basic, the one server seemed rushed, and they're still using plastic utensils and styrofoam cups. But the food was excellent. I ordered their special tostadas: This consisted of two crispy corn tortillas slathered with refried beans and topped with big scoops of shredded, mildly spicy chicken, plus lettuce and lots of shredded cheese. The beans taste home-cooked, the chicken was moist and fresh, and, although the rice was no great shakes, I actually took the leftover beans back to my motel for future reference. Their tortilla chips are thin and crispy, and their red salsa packs a punch. It seems to be a local favorite (of the 3 other tables, two were families who know each other), and I can understand why! We tried this place because they have good reviews . We had dinner here and I ordered carne asada fries ,it's big pieces of steak meat but not a lot , fries is like your regular French fries , It's just dry, I just picked the meat sour cream and guacamole then left the rest on my plate . My husband on that other hand ordered wet shredded beef burrito and oh boy was it salty ! He told the server and she just said sorry I'll let the cook know . Didn't offer any compensation for it , nada! I guess they don't care because they're by the freeway so most people that eat there are passer by /tourist . Can't believe we found this gem in the middle of nowhere. We were passing through to get to Flagstaff and got hungry. The service is as quick as you would expect a home cook meal to take. The girls working are super nice and easy to talk with. The food is delicious. Don't let the location and outside look fool you. I recommend this place. read more

Terrible service, really bad food. We arrived 6:50, at that time there was just one table and three people. Got our food at 7:30. Taco had terrible rice as if we're soaked in water. Cheese quesadilla had too much cheese in it. Fry's are also poorly prepared, black spots everywhere. I am writing merely to give an honest experience. I travel many places in Arizona in the past week, Mexican food has been the main choice so I know what could be good ones. This one really made my family sick. read more
