    Mexican Special #1

WHAT A FIND! In a shopping center, nothing fancy, but my goodness....the food is authentic and DELICIOUS. Fresh chips, salsa on point. Some of the best enchiladas I have had. Rice and beans are the real deal. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Chips with warm salsa. So delicious.

Another spot I will be coming back too. Popped in this little gem after the gym on a saturday morning because it's down the street. Walked in and was told to take a seat because the place was hoppin. The service is fast and efficient and let's not forget friendly and engaging. It seems to be a place where the locals and the familiar come. No frills, clean And lovely atmosphere. Our waitresses were very endearing and we felt the warmth from everyone who worked here. Chips served with delicious warm homemade salsa to start. The beef fajita Tommy Tacos are so good and I did not expect them to be so delicious. The beef tostado dinner was so feeling. Of course I went home with a to-go plate and was happy to have more at home later. Another solid go to spot when I am leaving the gym and I want some good ole Tex-Mex. The ladies here are the best and the warmth that they serve here is what more restaurants need.

    New ceiling installed last year

Last year, they closed for a few months for renovations, which can seen by the new ceiling tiles. Otherwise, everything else looks pretty much the same. I recently thought about how a coworker mentioned a long time ago how Mexican restaurants make really good fries, so I decided to try them out at a restaurant nearby. The Hamburgesa estilo San Isidro comes with homemade fries (thick cut, hot and tender due to the oil). I would have liked some of the fries to be crunchy. It takes a little bit longer to cook than a taco plate, but it arrives 10-15 minutes later. I've seen hamburgers with avocado and melted cheese but not one I remember with refried beans, so I was intrigued. The burger was thick and tasted classic-style with the beefsteak tomatoes even with all the different toppings. The Tommy's taco can be made with beef, pork or chicken, but beef is classic. The meat and flour tortilla were hot, and the chile con queso was warm. As usual, the complimentary chips and salsa were warm. They still get about 80% of the restaurant full during lunch time, so you won't need to wait for a table to empty.

Wow, what a hidden gem! I was brought to Mi Sombrero by friends and can't thank them enough. There is a shared parking lot in front of the shopping center and a good number of spots. The restaurant isn't large, but was pretty full, including a large party. The food was some of the best Tex Mex I've had in a while. I ordered a Miller Lite and it was served with a chilled mug; this was the coldest beer I have had in a very long time. For food, I had the Tuity Fruity (1 chicken enchilada, 1 ground beef, and 1 cheese with rice and beans); it was SO good! The chicken enchilada had dark meat which was a really nice and tasty distinction from other Tex Mex restaurants. The entire plate was delicious and service was good (a little slow, but only due to the large party being served). You pay at the counter. I can't wait to go back!

I have been here before but it's been a minute. I called to place and order to go and all my requests were taken. I was told my order would be ready in about fifteen minutes. When I arrived, I was greet as so as the door was opened. My food was packed and ready for transport. They neatly stacked everything in a box and everything stayed in place during the drive. One of my dining companions was jonesing for enchiladas and they told me everything was very good and they appreciated that the sauce was not spicy. My other dining companion ordered Tommy's Tacos and also enjoyed their meal. I had carne guisada tacos... nice gravy and tender meat. I also enjoyed the chips and salsa... warning it's got a little kick. In the hood... check it out

I am fat, this is why. Having been warned of the portion size here, I still had to see for my self. While I have conquered my orders each and every time, it prob isnt a good thing. No clue what is in the plate, it's fatty, happiness inducing, silencing of ur chatty friends. Why do I come back, no idea how to answer that. It's so bad for you, that my friends dream of this place. Not I, just them.

Great food! Service is great...we walk in and they know what we drink from just the second time going. Do not worry about the ceiling tiles, it has nothing to do with the owner. The space is rented and the property owner just temps the roof. So, when it rains they have leaks, but never on you or other tables.

Authentic Mexican restaurant! Their plates are really filling, they have a lot to choose from!

As of September 9th, Mi Sombrero is finally open. The place looks nice and they now have light music playing. The food still tastes great. The waitstaff is still the same and they are waiting to see familiar faces as well as new ones. So happy that they are open.

Ladies plate $7 something. Beef taco (chose flour), bean tostada, shredded chicken enchilada

Yummy cheap food! lady's plate (taco, enchilada, bean tostada) - less than $8 - it was still very filling so I shared with my boyfriend. got a chicken enchilada, a soft flour beef taco, and a bean tostada which was bigger than I expected. My boyfriend got Tommy's taco a la carte for $4.50 and a 2 enchilada plate with rice and beans for less than $10. He preferred the chicken enchilada over his beef enchilada. Tommy's Taco was really good also. Jamaica drink (hibiscus) was really good too, not too sweet, very refreshing, and a very large cup. Good complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is a little spicy

Upon walking in the restaurant was clean it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but the aroma of the food! OMG! Our server was really nice and patient because my friend and I talked for about 30 minutes before we finally ordered our food. He has the beef enchiladas with rice and black beans. He cleaned his plate...literally not a grain of rice in sight! I had the smoked chicken verde enchiladas and WOW! What an amazing dish. Glowing red. Burning. Candente…read more Let me start by saying that I'm not into Mexican food unless it's an auntie or grandma making it at their house. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.

Parking can be challenging on weekends, but there is complimentary valet and a few extra spots in a lot across the street. There's interior and exterior seating, with cozy booths and tables. Service is friendly. Chips and salsa: Superica has some of my favorite chips, crispy and thin and perfectly fried. The avocado crema salsa and warm serrano pepper salsas are delicious with a mild kick. The bottled red salsa is fresh and green salsa packs a nice punch. Migas: Scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and cheese, choice of chicken versus chorizo on top, finished with fresh avocado. I really enjoyed this combination and the generous portion for the price. The eggs are well scrambled without being dry, and the pairing with cheese is proportional. The chicken was a touch dry, but some salsa solved that well. I enjoyed stuffing each component into a fresh tortilla and devouring it as a breakfast taco. Refried beans and rice: Really delicious. The refried beans are of the smoother variety without as much chunkiness, which I prefer, and topped with creamy cheese. I could have used a touch more tomato in the rice, but overall enjoyed the texture and flavor. Patatas with salsa roja, topped with egg: I enjoyed the flavors in this dish, but there was sooo much salsa. The potatoes were thus a little soggy, though still cooked well. The over medium egg was cooked nicely and complemented the potatoes with creamy yolk. Bacon: Really generous portion for $7 as a side, and cooked well. Crispy potatoes: I enjoy that these are fingerling potatoes smashed and roasted, but they could be crispier. They seem to be on the blander side on purpose to allow seasoning to taste, and I really like pairing them with the red bottled salsa provided at each table (probably due to their association with ketchup). Hotcakes: The literal star of every brunch, these hotcakes are consistently delicious. They're massive yet somehow cooked perfectly through so that they're fluffy and soft on the inside and just with a slight crunch on the outside. The pairing of the creamy warm (!!!) maple syrup is heavenly. Because of how huge these are, usually one is enough to share between two people, although they also come in stacks of two and three. For reference, we finished 3/4 of three between four healthy and hungry people and it wasn't for lack of trying. Whenever I crave weekend brunch, Superica is always a top option.
