Dry noodles are off the hook. Super good. Similar to Kuy thu, but different. I could not get enough of it. Definitely a spot to come back to when on lunch or looking to get a quick bite to eat. The service was really good. Owner made suggestions and did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place.

Noodles soup still good but it's super super expensive now. They also start charging for extra bean sprouts and fried garlic.

I'm very disappointed that they start charging for extra bean sprouts and fried garlic now. If you're gonna start charging, let your customer know and at least give us more. A very small amount of bean sprouts and friend garlic should not cost this much. I guess we won't be going here this often now.

Took my family out for breakfast. Food was great! Service was excellent. Only downfall is they're cash only. Wish they would have put up a sign outside in front of the door or have the server mention it to us when she took our order beside having a sign CASH ONLY at the cashier. Luckily the manager was okay for us to Zelle him. There's no ATM machine around. But it looks like under new management

Really quick service every time I've come in. The #21 is my usual order, and I love getting the pickled cabbage on the side for that extra crunch. Solid spot if you're nearby and want something fast and satisfying.

Wow, Mi has been in business 24 years, and opened right when 99 Ranch first opened in Richmond. The restaurant was handed down from grandfather to father and now to the son. The food quality exceeded expectations, and it was refreshing to get great service and good conversation with the staff on noodle-broth pairings. Glad I and a colleague came here for lunch instead of the usual burger run at Habit. Highly recommended the Lemongrass Pork Rib Soup with Thick Egg Noodles. I prefer chewy, al-dente noodles over slippery, soggy ones. The meat on the ribs was moist and fall-off-the bone and the broth was so good. For an even bigger flavor kick, definitely mix on some of their homemade chili oil! The restaurant also offers beefy noodles made from bone broth, wok stir-fried noodles, and a few rice plates. Flavors tend to be heavier and meatier. Definitely want to return to try other noodle-broth combinations. I'll try anything, except maybe for pork kidneys.

The service here is great, and there are plenty of tables to sit at. This is the sister location of the spot in Oakland. The food is definitely good -- no complaints there. What's disappointing, though, is the portion size compared to the price. A small bowl of noodles costs around $20, $7 for a kid size cup of Cafe su da, and the fish cakes are about $17. Our meal for three entrees and a couple of appetizers came out to nearly $100. At that price point, there are definitely other options. I understand that prices are generally high these days, but I still expect some value for the cost. Would I come back if I were really craving the noodles? Maybe. But honestly, for that kind of money, I'd probably opt for Japanese ramen instead.

It's been ten years since my last review for Mi Southeast Asian Eatery and I still love their food. Teo chow noodles with the soup on the side along with the fried fish cakes are always my go to. This day, I ordered an extra side of the pickled cabbage. Although it was a ton of food, it was the best idea to have the soup separate when boxing the food up. The young man that took my order was extremely nice and even thanked me for ordering the extra cabbage. He told me how much his father prides his pickled cabbage so it was nice to hear. There's plenty of seating and they are now cash only.

Great place for excellent and delicious food! Sadly we have not been here for a few years only because we have to come from Fairfield. In thinking about it, it's actually not so far. The food, the restaurant, and the staff are really great! We will definitely return.

20 plus years I have been eating at this place. From when it was VH to now Mi, the quality has stayed the same. Teo chew with wonton and soup on the side. Ryan is awesome, making sure to stop by tables to check in. I can bathe in this broth. Comfort in a bowl legit.

This place is perfect to frequent as the weather gets colder. It's in the back of Ranch 99 as part of a large Asian food mall. Went on a Sunday night, and didn't have to wait, but I could imagine this place would get full on certain nights. Had the Original Teochew broth with ho fun (thick rice noodles) and wonton. Ordered with the soup on the side. The portion was appropriate for the price and the chili they put out on the tables was flavorful and perfectly complimented everything. The owner was also super friendly and gave us some pointers on how to keep the chili fresh, as he sells them by the jar as well. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

My husband and I eat here regularly because we really like this place. Even though the food is a bit greasy, the noodles are very delicious, especially the thin egg noodles. I always order the combo with everything except liver. The service is pretty good too. If you go during busy hours, you might have to wait a bit, but I usually go when it's not too crowded. The shop isn't very big, but it's quite clean. Just a note -- they only accept cash, so be sure to bring some with you.

Excellent family run biz! Love this place and can't wait to go back! Cozy vibes and delicious food inside the mall where Ranch 99 is. You have so many noodle and soup options to choose from. Great service by people who are passionate about food and their restaurant. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is the bay's best little tucked away secret. The broth is hella good, the fish balls are house made, so is the the hot sauce and milk tea is to die for. Recommend the fish meatball noodle soup with the silver needle noodles!!!

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! I was there at 7pm on a Tuesday night. The entire shopping plaza was dark and unwelcoming. If it wasn't for the bright lights of the restaurant, I would of turned around and left. I came to China Delights to try their Hung Tao Wor Yee Won Ton Soup. It's a soup you seldom see in Chinese restaurants anymore. China Delights is a large spacious restaurant. Lots of round tables for groups. It could probably handle a Chinese banquet. So I ordered the won ton soup and an order of fried chicken wings. My big bowl of soup arrives, and it has chunks of imitation crab in it. Look, I understand everyone has their own recipe, but I don't want pieces of processed seafood in my won ton soup. Also, this isn't wor won ton soup, because there's nothing else added to it. It was just fried won tons, egg drop soup, and the "fake crab" meat. It doesn't alter the flavor of the soup. It was actually good soup, but I didn't like the fake crab meat. Grade (3/5). The fried chicken wings were super crispy and delicious! (5/5). Service was okay. The older lady who served me came over and chatted about the restaurant. Seems they also own Peking Delights in San Ramon. She told me her customers like won ton soup with imitation crab meat in it. So be aware, you might get something in your soup that's not on the menu. Lots of free parking.

When we walked in, no staff was out front, so we stood around a bit before we were seated. The staff quickly disappeared again, and throughout our meal, they were usually disappeared somewhere in the back. If you want something quick like extra utensils or napkins, you may need to wait a bit before someone appears. When ordering, we wanted to try both the Beef Buzz ($14.99) and the Fried Beef Buzz ($15.99). The lady who took our order said they were the same thing, and offered to just give us one half/half order instead of ordering two of essentially the same dish. We agreed to that offer, but she didn't mention anything about how that'll be charged. Of course, we ended up being charged the higher price of $15.99. Not a huge deal, but some better communication there would've been appreciated. We also ordered the Beef Huushuur ($14.99). The Beef Huuchuur arrived first, and it didn't look anything like we expected. The photos from online reviews all looked it'd come in an empanada shape, but it actually came in a large, flat, circular shape. They were all laying against one another in a slanted position, and it made all the oil pool in the bottom of the dish, and the pieces that were covered became very oily and soggy underneath. The parts of the dough that weren't soggy were wonderfully crispy and delicious though. It'd make a significantly better difference if the Huuchuur were placed spread out from each other instead of lying on top of each other to maintain the crispiness on all surfaces. The beef filling was nicely seasoned and well flavored. The Beef Buzz had essentially the same filling as the Huuchuur, but different exterior. Unfortunately, I still have the same opinions of it being way too oily overall. The non-fried pieces sometimes broke apart at the bottom due to the sogginess. The fried version did not have a crispy texture at the bottom either, I'm guessing due to the excess amount of oil on the dish. Again, the flavors were great, but execution and presentation definitely has room for improvement. In summary, this was a great introduction to Mongolian dumplings for me. Very delicious flavors, and I'd love to try Huuchuurs again in the future because I love crispy fried foods with a good texture. However, I'd probably look for a place that goes way more easy on the oil.

It was near 5pm, and the dining room was empty. They said most of the orders were for takeout and delivery. So I was seated right away, and they offered me hot tea. So I ordered the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup, and also "Salt 'n Pepper Prawns" as listed under House Specialties on their menu. For $15.95, it's a huge bowl of soup. It could be enough for 2-3 people. Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup is fried won ton in thicken egg drop soup. I added pepper and a splash of soy sauce, and it was perfect. Grade (4/5). However, the Salt 'n Pepper Prawns were not perfect. They were served deep fried, with jalapeño pepper slices. I asked for "in-shell." So they were deep fried with the shell still on. That usually means they'll have more flavor. These prawns were mushy and had a slightly fishy aftertaste. This suggests that they were frozen and not fresh. China House didn't season them enough to mask the off-taste. Other restaurants add a coarse salt and maybe a dipping sauce. The batter coating tasted fine, but the prawn itself wasn't good. Grade (2/5). Service was prompt and attentive.
