So basically Marietta/Smyrna is the place for Mexican food! Granted the place does not look the best but the food, price, and service is why we go out. The waitress that works there is always incredibly friendly and after coming only once, the second time we came she remembered us! She remembered what my husband and I ordered last time to drink and asked if we wanted the same. She's always super friendly, likes to help me practice my Spanish (blushes that I'm not fluent yet), and knows her menu like the back of her head. The food each and every time we come is fantastic. They start with your complimentary chips/salsa and their salsa is so fresh! It's full of onion, cilantro, spice and everything nice. Their chips are chips but good. I've ordered the same dish each time and every time I order she'll let us know about the "spice o meter" and if we want to order it. Basically how spicy the salsa came out this time depending on the chili's. Super nice heads up! I can take some heat, but man....not too hot so it's nice to know ahead of time. Our third time here we brought some guests and they loved their food as well. One ordered a torta (the size of like 3 cheeseburgers) and the other a fried shrimp plate. Each liked their meal and couldn't believe how cheap their plates were for how much food they got, and couldn't wait to come back. The food here is amazing and authentic, so authentic in fact none of the staff on duty today spoke a word of English, which thus made it difficult to order. Attempted to order a margarita, even with pointing at the menu it took a minute for them to figure out what kind of margarita I wanted. My friend requested water w/ lemon, they brought water no lemon not even a lime. Finally we got them to just bring us some ice and we used my friend's water. There is a Groupon we attempted to use but they could not figure out what we were saying finally my friend said "manager" and they had to call the manager who spoke English clear as day and she informed us that we could not use the Groupon b/c a manager was not on duty and therefore the staff there did not have the means too. Wow! Fine but my friend swore the food was good so we stayed and with more menu pointing my 3 years of college Spanish, and the staff using their Google Translate apps, success & despite the struggle, once the food and drinks arrived it was totally worth it. The margaritas are made fresh and the food is fantastico! I had the California Burrito and a Texas Margarita, my friend had the Shrimp Burrito. I would love to give them 5 stars but to have an entire staff unable to fully assist customers due to language barriers is unacceptable. We have been eating here for 10 years. You can't get anymore Mexican taqueria than this. The tacos are wonderful! We've tried them all: pollo, carne asada, lengua, buche, chorizo, et al. The Pastor is the best we've ever had! The guacamole, bean dip and the Choriqueso dips are delicious. One knock (but I can live with it) is that the chips aren't the best I've ever had and it's not my favorite salsa. I'll give up the chips and salsa for the better meal! The camarones are delicious- cocktail, Diablo (very hot to us gringos) and quesadillas. They are know for their seafood in the Mexican community, but I haven't gotten past the tacos, tortas and other traditional dishes that we crave. There is a beer menu, but they don't make margaritas. The chicken was standard for a Mexican restaurant, the rice was a little sub-par in my book, but the beans and salsa were great! Been here three times, great all times. I'll start with the two negatives I have with this place, and they're not huge. Definitely been to places with better tortilla chips, but the salsa is great, and not mild. The service can be a bit slow, but that's to be expected since they're often pretty full. If you just want the tacos, always, always opt for the homemade corn tortillas, much more flavorful than flour. The meats are flavorful, chicken less so but let's face it, chicken breast is pretty bland. Portions are decent. Parking can be tight when it's real busy. Spanish not your first language? No problem. I would like to give this establishment a -5 stars. This place does not honor their agreement with Groupon. They called the police on my daughter and her husband while they had their 3 year old with them. She was trying to use the Groupon she purchased for this location and they said she cant use it because the manager is an hour away. She asked if she could leave I.D. and pay the portion over and then bring the Groupon back when the manager arrived, while she was talking to the staff they called the police. Three cars pulled up. (So unnecessary) and threatened to arrest them immediately if they didn't pay the balance. The officer said that the staff called and said they were trying to walk out without paying. My daughter recorded the whole thing. If your employees dont speak or understand english at a capacity well enough to use the Groupon service then the restaurant probably shouldn't agree to use Groupon in the future. I will be sure to let a lot more people know of this incident. This incident caused embarrassment, scared my daughter and grandchild. read more

Don't let the negative reviews fool you. This place is freaking boom! The food is expectacular, the Agua de horchata is to die for and their new margaritas are made on the spot! No margarita mix here folks! Unless you ask for the regular margarita then that one is made with mix, or so I was told. My friend Kiki and I shared a pitcher and we were both mind blown by the taste of the margarita. The bartender, Maribel even stopped to check up on us to make sure we were in love with the margarita and we sure were!! Highly recommend! Keep in mind that on the weekends it is a little crazy, so my friend and I did wait a while for our food to come out but our appetizers and our drinks kept us happy while we waited. Oh and also our server took great care not us too. They called the cops on my family because a manager was not there to apply a groupon. If this could be a negative stars rating it would be. I purchased a groupon on 06/26/2019 for $15.00. This voucher was spend $15.00 for the voucher and you get $30.00 towards dining. I thought, great deal. First of all they only had one waiter and one waitress and neither one of the spoke a lick of English. I literally had to have 3 different people who were sitting and dining take time from their meals to help translate what we wanted to order, then later with the incident that took place. So we order, food was good, however the service was horrible all around. They talk to you like you're stupid when asking about something on the menu, just because you don't understand them. They don't wash their hands between cleaning a table and bringing out food. They cater way more to the bar then the tables, and the staff is clearly not trained for at least EXCEPTIONAL customer service or situations as simple as being able to apply a groupon discount. They don't I.D for alcohol and cant forget, most alcoholic beverages on the menu, they don't have! After we eat our check comes out, I show the waitress Coroline, my groupon. She shakes her head, says no, and walks away. She then returns with the only other server, which was UNDERAGE and working BEHIND the bar the whole evening, out to get him to explain. (Mind you, both of them speak the SAME amount of English, which is basically NONE) He mumbles no manager, I then pull out my phone for google translate to make this process a little easier. I explain to them again I have my groupon and would like it to be redeemed. Again she says no manager, so I ask the same family that had previously helped me translate our order for help. So long story short Caroline has advised that since the manager is not there they can not redeem it because a card is needed for the discount. I told Caroline that she needs to contact the manager because that's unacceptable. The family that was translating left while Caroline was contacting the manger. Caroline returns, gives me the phone, the manager (a woman, I don't remember her name) was on the phone. She advises the same thing Caroline did, I advised to her that everyone should be trained to apply the groupon, but even still a manager should be on site at all times and that we need to figure out what will be done to have this groupon applied. She says nothing can be done and didnt even apologize then asked to speak with Caroline and I'm assuming hung up because when Caroline returned she was still confused. Caroline then also became frustrated with us, and began to become agitated with us and the other guy waitressing. So she goes back in the restuarant and gets a guy who was sitting at the bar. He then explains the same thing, I told him like I told everyone before I understand, but a solution needs to be made up. Whether that was having the manager come to the restaurant or they take the $30.00 off my receipt and I pay the remaining balance. The manager was called again, and the guy from the bar also spoke with her, in the process of our conversation. When Caroline walks away the guy from the bar that was helping translate, told me that the manager said to call the cops if we try to leave without paying. We were still in the process of speaking with the manager on the phone when the police then arrived. It started with two police units which both got out the car with their hands on their gun. Mind you, it was me, my partner, and my daughter sitting on the outside patio dining benches. We never mentioned anything about not paying our tab, we never attempted to get up and leave. It was very unnecessary for them to call the police. The police end up telling us they were called because the restaurant called saying we were attempting to leave without paying.
