Walked in and said hello/good morning--no response from staff at all. Not a great start. Ordered a torta and waited about 30 minutes, which would've been fine if there was at least an acknowledgment or apology, but there wasn't. When the food finally came out, the torta was pretty disappointing--small, not filling, and honestly looked thrown together. At that point, we didn't feel like ordering anything else. The food here is actually pretty good, especially on Taco Tuesdays when the tacos are on sale -- definitely the best time to go if you want a deal. But the customer service is honestly terrible. Decided to try this place out, it never seems busy but figured maybe I pass by at non peak times. I ordered a regular asada burrito for pick up. (meat, rice, beans) The burrito was dry, asada meat had no seasoning, burrito had no flavor. The red salsa helped. For $10 you can get a much better burrito elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewers meals but our carnitas tacos were amazing! We were a little surprised when we got whole beans in them but realized we ordered tacos, not street tacos but the food - and the salsas - were delicious. read more

My son and I enjoy coming to visit our local Taqueria quite often. The tacos served are tasteful as we get fresh made tortillas made quesadillas, with a side of beans, rice, and fries. My son loves their carnitas, they taste fresh, and so the guacamole. It's an easy grab, ready to go, servings. When we feel fearing we order veggie burritos or tortas... Not sure what happened to this place! I used to come here often for lunch and also my sons' after school. Their burrito morphed into Burrito Sloppy Joe and the taste became so bland. The taste like just boiled meat in a burrito tortilla. I tasted more the tortilla than the not so tender meat. Really wanted to like this place as I was a fan of Boardwalk Subs food, not service. Saw a decent lunch line a few times so for Fat Tuesday, my family decided to make this our Taco Tuesday. Transactionally fine, gave a 20% tip due to the COVID environment. Results: I believe the pictures speak for themselves on quality control (5:20pm). Who would serve rotten avocado on shrimp tacos? Let alone 4? Killed the entire meal. Carnitas tacos had good reviews, but after trying two bites, gave to my dog. Extremely dry and chewy. I really wish this wasn't the case, though, it was disappointing considering all the recommendations. It did not have the avocado or cheese which was another dissatisfaction. The overall aesthetics looked delicious but fell short of delivering a decent product. If you love spicy-HOT , that red sauce they have is amazing! You've been warned. The salsa verde was mild on the spicy meter and full of flavor from the citrusy tomatillos. Chips were crispy, lightly salted, and delicious. All things considered, I will be back because this is a one off. They have a small menu and from the recommendations I've received, their tacos are the go-to. Absolutely the worse street tacos I have ever had. Food was bland and had no flavor. Very disappointing. I asked for grilled onions and jalapeños on the side. We didn't get those but didn't know until we got the food home. I guess our fault for not taking everything apart and checking at the restaurant. You can't order a large container of rice. The side of rice comes in a small bowl and is almost $3. The lady said it's a child's size and that was the largest they had. I'm feeding a teenage boy. Oh well we won't be back. I have gone here for a long time and usually had good experiences. Not today. I stopped in and grabbed one burrito and 5 street tacos-which cost $28! Then, waited over 30 minutes for the food while watching 3 people after me get their food first. I get home and the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for an hour. This is place is pretty great. The corn tortillas are made fresh by hand. The meats, beans and salsa are super fresh. It's super economical if you don't over for it. Their portions are very generous, so 1 taco is almost equal to two, and they give you and extra tortilla. I paid less that $8 for two tacos (really almost 4 tacos) and a water. I recommend this place. Wish the customer service was a bit better. They are are not friendly but not rude. read more

I was a delivery driver for a short period of time, so I made it my mission to try every taco in Salinas. I have tried them all. Mi Taqueria is a the hands down winner. I've told everyone that will listen about this place. The corn tortillas are so fresh, the portions are huge, the salsa is delicious. The suggested order for first timers: Carnitas Super Taco with a bottled coke. That's all you will need for a solid lunch! I've never had anyone tell me that isn't the best taco in Salinas! Shrimp tacos are to die for as are their two hottest salsas (extra spicy and chipotle). I also really like their asada burrito with avocado (no rice). Never had any rotten avocado as mentioned on past reviews yet, but I keep coming back and food is always great! If i could get this place a 0 starts i would. First of all let me start off with the bugs in my food. There was 5 visible on top of my lettuce when I ordered the flautas, who knows how many.more I would of found.
