So they charge you an additional dollar just for super thin slice of avocado on a basic taco. Giving the benefit of the doubt I order 3 super tacos and a horchata. I take a sip of the horchata and the taste is a little off. I go to sit and the cleanest table I could find obviously wasn't wiped down in some time. I wipe down myself with napkins. The guy brings the food and tosses one green and one red salsa samples on the table. No communication he just simply turns around. I see the tacos and no lime with these super tacos. It's clear there's no pride in the food customer service and sanitation. Needless to say I am disappointed and will not be returning to this place. read more

So far I have only ate two things on this menu, the delicious shrimp tacos and carne asada fries. I wished these fries would be better. Even after mixing it, so meaty and dry. I ordered a super burrito Asada and figured it is a run-of-the-mill burrito, typical of your usual Taqueria. I was pleasantly surprised you could tell that the meat was cooked over a grill that had an excellent smoky taste, tender with good flavor. The pico de gallo was spot on, the rice and beans were fresh, they were not overcooked, and then slices of avocado versus just guacamole which is what I tend to prefer. I ate here regularly for a few months until one visit salsa was rotten, and the next visit, flautas were burnt and not edible. Waited a couple of months and tried again. Specifically asked for flautas to not be overcooked; they were so over done that the chicken inside was brittle and crunchy. Worse part; I have been up all night really sick. Had a yogurt and bagel from home today, so it's clear to me what is going on. I won't be trying again. read more

Today was the 2nd time I've tried Mi Taqueria. Today I ordered a super al pastor burrito with extra cilantro. I told the gal who took the order that my first experience here I ordered extra cilantro and didn't get it (I also forgot to mention I asked to add sour cream and didn't get that either) so please can you make sure you let the cook know. She repeated this and the rest of my order back to me. So we get our order and start eating and to my delight there's extra cilantro! Then to my chagrin as I take a few more bites I realize this burrito, while delicious, is just a regular burrito... problem is that I paid for and ordered a super. So while I enjoyed the rice, beans, meat and salsa with extra cilantro, I didn't get what I paid for. Of course this was to-go, so I decide to call the place to first confirm what is supposed to be included on a super and then let them know it's not cool that this is the 2nd time this has happened. The gal taking orders is pretty nice and asks if I'd like to speak to the owner. I thought it'd probably be a good idea since this is a new place and it would be great to have an awesome taqueria closer to home. She then tells me he is busy and we decide I'd receive a call back for feedback. It's 10:30pm and haven't heard from him. Looks like we'll have to drive to seaside or North Salinas (for La Costa) which is delicious, fast and gets the orders perfect... -I received a very disappointing response from the owner. He totally missed the point. I was trying to let the owner know that his cooks have been messing up the orders; his customers aren't getting what they paid for, which is a problem especially during these times with no dine because the customer gets where they are going and order wrong and money already paid! The owner proceeds to tell me asking for extra cilantro on a burrito makes it a super... I'm like huh?? No, the cheese and avocado that were MISSING make it a super. Yes, he said to come back so they may make it right, but what the response should've been was that he'd check in with his cooks and try and figure out why they can't get it right.. this was the 2nd time I did not receive the items I paid extra for. I'm not the only person to leave a review with the same complaint. Just drive a little farther to the north side (la costa) or the east side (jalliscience) and spend your hard earned money there. read more

Really enjoyed my carnitas and shrimp tacos...they were delicious and reasonably priced. Super fresh ingredients and worth the wait (thanks COVID). Lucky for me that I work close by so it's convenient to get my taco "fix" whenever I want. read more

The tacos are SUPER GOOD. I had chicken and buche, homemade tortillas and the green sauce. Everything good.

Super glad to see a quality taqueria in the old burger place. Pretty brave of them to open in a pandemic no less!! I've been twice. First time ordered super tacos but the cheese and avocado were missing. Too many beans but rather tasty. Second time mentioned the missing cheese and avo. The owner comped me on the bill (very nice to do so) but this order they shorted me one taco. We got the chicken (with no beans) which are quite large and reasonably priced. Tried one of the shrimp tacos and it was deelish!! I will go back but will be super clear on what I want AND double check the order before I leave to make sure it's complete. Glad to see several folxs placing orders and many calling in orders. I hope they make it and will give them a few more tries to get the order right. I'll repost next time I visit. read more

I don't give out 1's like candy.. I give the place 3 try's first. After my 3rd trip to this business I am VERY comfortable giving it a 1 star. Aside from the food still lacking flavor, they messed up our order for a third straight time. Side note, who puts pinto beans on a carne asada taco?! Which is why I ordered them for a third time without beans, and they put them on for a third straight time. We're done. Salinas has too many good places for us to play taco roulette with them again. read more

I was skeptical about trying out this place since I always tend to have high expectations when I try new Mexican restaurants due to the fact that I am Mexican . Where... did... this place come from!? Popped up out of nowhere, I'm the Anthony Bourdaine of Mexican food, I've been to all the spots! There's a good chance I even ate at your abuelas kitchen, I'm proud to say I'm a taco snob. I earned it for trying all sorts of bad and some good Mexican restaurants, but when I landed in Mi Taqeuria, I rarely give 5 star reviews, just look at my profile but once you come into Mi Taqueria, it was a given. From their prompt and friendly service to the time my food is ready, they got it down like a well oiled machine. At first I thought this must be a corporate but I was pleasantly surprised to hear it's a family owned and ran business dating back to the pre-flood days of Noah and his Ark. Whatever seasoning they use I want it, it's so good. By the way, don't ask for the recipe to their seasoning, I guess it goes back to the Aztec days and why Spain really wanted to take Mexico over, it wasn't gold, it was the seasoning! Other taquerias better step their game up, this is the second coming of Mexican food. Save yourself the time and try it out, if you go anywhere else in Monterey County you'll just repent. read more

Was wondering when this spot would get a great place to eat. Ever since Reds left from this spot it's been a revolving door for businesses. I truly believe Mi Taqueria is going to stick around for a looong time. Came by today to try one of their tortas and it was more than enough. So delicious. All the ingredients were fresh. Customer service was excellent. Immediately we were seated outside (COVID) and a heat lamp was brought over to our table. Chips and salsa arrived promptly and the chips were fresh, light, and crisp, I was very impressed with the chips. The salsa was a bit on the spicy side, which doesn't bother me and I can enjoy, but I like eating chips n salsa with whomever I'm with and it was too spicy for them, so although I didn't mind it, I would have enjoyed it more sharing it with my company. Our food came promptly and was nice and hot. We both ordered a chicken taco with rice and beans and we both thought the rice and beans were excellent but the taco was just okay and mainly it was the meat. Plenty of proportion and everything tasted great except the meat which seemed off. I would definitely order it again but with a different meat.
