Did the Little Havana food and culture tour and had a Wonderful guide, Jennifer. Started off having a delicious empanada and a Cuban coffee. Went into see cigars being made which was interesting. Then onto lunch - I had tostones (plantain cups with bell peppers and vegetables in!) and mojito, but others had Cuban sandwich. Then a sugar cane drink (which wasn't to my liking but that's a personal choice), and we saw the juice being made. We also had churros which were warm and delicious. And finally, a scoop of abuela Maria guava ice cream which was nice. Apart from the great food and coffee (which was all great!) Jennifer told us a lot about the Little Havana area. We stopped at many places and she talked to us about the history and the neighborhood. The Bay of Pigs memorial was interesting. Jennifer sent us a list of recommendations for restaurants in the Miami area which is useful too. Would recommend this tour as a great way to get into Cuban food and learn about the Little Havana neighborhood. You'll be lucky if you get Jennifer! read more

We love this tour company. We did the wynwood food tour in 2016 and just finished our Little Havana tour today. Every tour guide is so passionate, engaging and knowledgeable. Marie was our guide today. She was fantastic. We had a full group of 20 but I think she learned everyone's name. We love the combo of learning the Cuba culture and snacks on some great food. We had - beef empanada - a great start and huge - shot of Cuban espresso - mojito. Yummy. We are nice and happy by now listening to some lively salsa band at ball and chain - croqueta and Cuban sandwich. - sugar cane juice at this cute local fruit market - guava pastry at a local bakery - finally homemade ice cream. Everything was so good. We already saw several places we want to come back to for lunch, food etc. a great way to spend 3 hours in miami. read more

I went on the Little Havana Food and Cultural Tour Regarding the food part, the food met my expectations. We got to try a lot of tasty and authentic cuisine from local spots but the culture tour portion was thoroughly lacking. It was practically going from place to place just to eat. Discussion and knowledge sharing about the area, the food, and the culture was absent and passion/energy was missing from the guide. Although she was new and nice, she should not have been leading a full-priced tour on her own at this point, with lots of silence and awkwardness throughout the experience. Marie was awesome: funny, knowledgeable, and most of all, passionate about Cuban culture and history in Miami. We went to some great places and ate (and drank) some great stuff - especially the empanadas. Those Cuban sandwiches were incredible as well. Ball and Chain was so fantastic; great drinks And music. We did the Little Havana Walking Culinary Tour. What a fabulous tour, definitely one of the best culinary tours I have ever been on. Our guide Ariel was so knowledgeable and very organized which we greatly appreciated. The amount of food and drinks were insane and so delicious. Do not go to this tour without an empty stomach, there is so much food with full size portions that you will be extremely full by the time you are done. They food and drinks covered food for even the pickiest eaters. Our kids enjoyed all the food and enjoyed seeing the roosters and art work. Cannot recommend this tour and this tour group enough. read more

To celebrate Big Dave's birthday sweet 16 birthday ( anniversary there of) we took a food and art walk tour. What fun, a perfect way to explore the area, get a feeling for the different cuisines and learn about the different architectural styles of Art Deco. About 1 mile in length and 5 stops on our progressive dinner....they surprised Dave with a piece of cake! Sandy our tour guide was great and very helpful. Not only was it a great food tour, but our wonderful guide Mariela also shared her Cuban American culture and history with us. It left us looking forward to visiting Havana someday, and gave us a deeper appreciation for what Cuban Americans have endured. The size group was perfect at 8 people. We started with delicious empanadas and colada (coffee), moving on tonCubanos and mojitos, stopped for a mango juice and finished up with hot churros from Churromania and guava topped ice cream at Azucar. Don't think we'll be eating dinner tonight, it was A LOT of food! We watched cigars being hand rolled, and stopped at the Bay of Pigs monument and had a recap of history. Headed to Miami for a conference and my wife joined me for a few days prior to the week long schedule of meetings. We decided to try something a little different and schedule a Little Havana Walking Food Tour. Of course, we wanted to have the tour as early as possible but it was scheduled for 12:30pm - to beat out the heat. In short we had a great time. We learned so much and even circled back after the tour to stop at a few little shops. Be prepared that although you have small plates at each stop you will leave full. Not certain if the menu changes but we had an empanada, 1/2 a cuban sandwich, 1 mojito, pastilito de guava, cup of fresh sugar cane juice and ice cream. Ashley gave our tour for our girl cousin's weekend. Such a great tour guide--fun, informative, helpful. I learned new things including how to drink Cuban coffee. I enjoyed all stops as well--from empanadas to sugarcane juice, to guava pastries and mojitos--and a cubano--what's not to love? Robyn the tour "story" guide was a bundle of wisdom, passion, cultural experience, historical knowledge, and of course a person who oozes excitement through her hospitality and food expertise. We spend the afternoon tasting authentic Cuban food, and learning the rich history behind each of the foods. Everything I ate and drank was pure perfection. If you are a first time visitor to the Miami area or even a returning visitor this should be on the top of your to-do list. You will get a historical stroll through the culture of the Miami area, eat delicious food, and have a good time. DO NOT eat before going. You will get a lot of food and you will want to eat it all. I was in town for my wedding in South Beach, and we decided it would be a fun pre-wedding activity to do a food tour while we were in the area. We booked a private tour- there were about 25 of us - and we had the most fabulous time. Our tour guide, Will, was adorable, personable, knowledgeable, and just so fun! Most of the group was made up of my mom's friends, and he really knew how to play to the 60-something ladies ;-) We did the full tour, which was exactly 2.5 hours and 6 stops for $69 per person. It was the perfect amount of food; we definitely got our money's worth, but we didn't feel overly stuffed after. The stops and dishes were as follows: 1. Ceviche and empanadas at Bolivar restaurant 2. Tostones Rellenos at The Hotel of South Beach 3. Ropa Vieja at Larios on the Beach (Gloria Estefan's restaurant!) 4. Focaccia Bread at Rosetta Bakery 5. Black Cherry gelato at Mamma Mia Gelato 6. Cuban coffee at Abuela's Considerations: The whole thing took place in a 2-block radius. It felt like a lot of walking, but was totally doable for the less-mobile of us. The were great with special dietary restrictions, although we needed to let them know in advance so that the restaurants had time to prepare. In our group, we had people who needed vegetarian, gluten free, fish free, and kosher substitutes, and they were able to accommodate all of us! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who's visiting South Beach who wants to try a lot of different places and get some education on the local culture and history! read more

I honestly don't even know how to put in words how awesome the Little Havana food and cultural tour was. It was exactly what I needed after being locked in and stressing about the pandemic for so long. This tour and Robyn- THE MOST AWESOME TOUR GUIDE EVER- had an authenticity that made me feel like I had stamped my passport and was abroad. I had to keep reminding myself I was in America. The small group setting was perfect and I always felt safe even as a solo traveler. Robyn's energy and the energy on Calle Ocho is palpable. The people who live there waved at me several times almost as a welcome to our town!! It felt SO GOOD. I notice little things like that when I travel. One of my favorite things about vacations is experiencing what the people who live in the actual neighborhoods are like and what they experience. This tour combined the history and perseverance of the Cuban people who came to America years ago, the places on Calle Ocho that have come to be almost historic in Little Havana, along with some AWESOME good eats!! I can only imagine how much more vibrant Calle Ocho will be after the pandemic is over. I went back to Calle Ocho every day after the tour and when Domino Park opens again it will be a great day for the community. I will definitely be back in the future. I bought the living social deal for 2 for 1 tour. It ended up being $30 each plus they encourage tips. It's not worth the full price. We first stopped at the anglers hotel. It has a beautiful lobby. They gave us a prosciutto wrapped fig with balsamic reduction. Next stop was Bolivar Colombian. We had a Colombian beer mixed with Colombian soda. They served a fried plantain with chicken and an empanadas. Great ambiance. This stop we got to sit down. Other stops included David's cafe for Cuban coffee and guava pastry, Jerry's deli for rugalah, gelato at milani, pocket sandwich at block pizza, empanadas at Charlotte bakery. Very small servings. You won't go home stuffed. A lot of walking with guided info stops about architecture. The guide was knowledgable and local. It was fun to meet the others in the group from around the world. Good winter time activity. During the summer it would be too hot. Most places we stood to eat and no drink was provided. Great way to sample Miami food culture and see south beach. Loved this tour! We had one day in Miami and with not knowing where to start, this was a great way to experience a little bit of everything. Mirka was our guide for the group of 12 of us from across the country and she gave us history, architecture and good lessons along the way. We had churros, Colombian food at Bolivar (cocktails, ceviche and plantains with chicken), empanadas at The Naked Taco, Moroccan food at the Tides Hotel and ropa vieja at Lario's (Gloria Estefan's restaurant). The website said we were supposed to get gelato but we did not go there for some reason. We really enjoyed this 2.5 hour tour of South Beach, learned a lot and met nice people! It's a hard job talking for 3+ hours but he was never boring and always entertaining and informative. You get a nice dose of history, culture, and lots of great food to try. This is my second tour with this group. I have enjoyed both. We made 5 stops at a few nearby restaurants in South Beach. We had a lot of food and some drinks. I suggest not eating before your tour. You want to indulge in everything. The best stop was the first at Boliviar. We had empanadas, ceviche and a Columbian shandy. Our tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and helpful. This is a must...Little Havana tour guide was Gina, so personable, very knowledgeable..the area is about a 4 block area of little Havana, sampled a Cuban sandwich it was amazing, the mojito with the sugar cane garnish so flavorable..churros, the coffee which I did not try don't like coffee, but my husband said it was amazing..an empanada which was very good..you get history of the area also and see some amazing artwork.. lots of mom and pop shops..highly recommend!! read more
