Came to The Local House for brunch recently and really enjoyed my time. The restaurant is very cute and nicely decorated. Seating inside and out. Great service with very friendly servers. I started with a cappuccino, which was nicely balanced and great foam. Then I ordered the Local Breakfast. It came with two scrambled eggs, multigrain toast, home fries, and I swapped the meat for avocado. The eggs were nicely cooked, potatoes had great flavor but were a bit cold and very fresh but I imagine freshly made are very solid. The toast was not bad. Avocado was fresh. Good portion and good prices. My friend and I shared a pancake that was pretty good but lacked a bit of flavor but was still enjoyable. I would definitely come back and try other items as they have an all day menu! read more

In South Beach for a long weekend and stopped in here as the menu looked interesting. The food was AMAZING!! We sat outside and had Mina for a server. She was friendly and attentive. She made sure we were taken care of the whole time. I had The Burger, it came with some great fries too, but the burger was absolutely the best I've had I. Avery long time, if not ever! The wife had the Braided and Confused starter for her entree. It's braised chicken with some fried potatoes and garlic aioli, and the flavors and the size made this a great dish too. I will rate it a 3, because the location is very convenient and the place is very cute. However brunch menu laks flavor. Potatoes were super oily, no flavor, over cooked. If you're in South Beach and want the best food, best service, and best prices, this is the place. I'm seriously considering buying a condo in this neighborhood just to be close to this restaurant. This quaint little restaurant secured within the Local House hotel is a neighborhood gem. Met here for a business brunch and it was perfect. Although there was vibrant international music playing, the overall sound was low enough to have a conversation. There was also an outlet on the wall to plug in a laptop or charge a cell phone. The decor was clean with a beachy, modern feel. They accommodated for food allergies or substitutions and our service was top notch. Bruno was our very attentive waiter and so was Naranj. The best part was the quality of the food. My associate got the Local breakfast which was a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon and toast. It was hard for me to decide between their delicious seafood benedict options including lobster, ocean or crab cake benedict and their seafood scramble. But I opted for the seafood scramble because it was lighter and was filled with multiple seafood including lobster, shrimp and crab. It came with toast and I ordered a side of home fries. We washed these scrumptious entrées down with an Americano (black coffee with a shot of espresso), black tea, pineapple juice mimosa, and a Summer Air cocktail (although they were out of elderflower). The Local House Hotel! Overall it was an incredible stay. The lobby was very chic and had great decor. The check in was done in a couch across from the receptionist which was a very warm and personable check in. There was a diffuser in the hallway that smelled lovely. My wife and I stayed in a room that had everything we needed; a comfy bed and couch, a tv, an keurig machine, an updated bathroom with a great shower head, two balconies, a full body mirror, and some lamps. Everything up to this point was pretty exceptional! Here are a few cons: We were met with the pungent smell of marijuana at some point in the night which isn't the establisment's fault. They respectfully dealt with the group causing the smell which my wife and i were very grateful for. As we watched a movie, we couldn't help but realize how thin the walls were. The best way to describe this is like living with roommates. We heard EVERYTHING that was happening around us; music playing in the room next to us, the doors open and close as the other guests came and went, people talking outside the building, cars driving by, etc. Miami is a busy city but we were thinking it would be a bit more quiet. All in all would definitely come back to experience the restaurant, rooftop lounge and maybe give a different room placement a try. read more

This is for the hotel only. No clear reception area. When you do find one they are a bit rude but that's probably due to the fact they have no idea what's going on. Elevator was consistently broken during our stay(only have one). They have a sign that says used the stairs but don't say you have to go outside and down the side of the building to get there. Had to call several times so that I could get a late check out. Still had people knocking on my door for the entire time. At one point the receptionist can up (3rd knock) and told us that check out it at 11am. I told her we called and was given a 1pm check out time. Thought that would end it but had 2 more knocks after that before 1pm. The only plus to this hotel is they have a decent room size and a restaurant below which is better staffed than the hotel. Will never stay here again and certainly would not recommend. read more

When I say AMAZING. I mean that in the greatest way possible! This hotel is super chic. It's set like a little beach boutique hotel. Everything from the room decor to the balcony was phenomenal. This place is very clean and well taken care of. There is a rooftop pool that's open 24/7 which like the hotel is very clean. There is free wifi, free wine available daily from 6-7. The hotel itself is located right on Ocean Drive but it's away from all of the loudness and chaos that Miami Beach seems to bring at night. You're about a 3 minute walk to the beach also. The employees here are incredibly welcoming and the staff was very pleasant. When planning another visit to Miami this will for sure be the hotel I choose. read more

Thank you tripadvisor for finding me a great hotel right on ocean drive! An extra tidbit, they won Tripadvisor's 2010 choice award. we were literally a few blocks down from the heart of southbeach, and within walking distance of all the major streets (collins, washington, lincoln) & the beach was right across the street! It was close enough to all the action, but far enough away so we were able to get a good nights sleep. Rooms were very modern, simple, and chic. It was also very clean, and the temperpudic beds/pillows were great. Hotel staff was available 24 hrs a day. They also provide towels and chairs for the beach, which is included in the $7.50/day amenities fee. The rooftop pool was ok. Good enough for us to sunbath & to check out the rooftop model shoot across the way. The only gripe we had was that there were literally no mirrors in the room besides the one in the bathroom. You would think since we were in miami of all places, that there would at least be ONE mirror in the room! 4 gals trying to get ready without mirrors = no bueno. So my suggestion would be to PLEASE ADD MIRRORS TO ALL YOUR ROOMS! At least one full length mirror. read more

Amazing!! Customer service top notch we arrived early and had late night flights and they were accommodating on both sides. They provide you beach gear with an umbrella and 2 chairs which was great and their restaurant is awesome. A must try is the Kiwi Crush drink and the kale and quinoa salad. If I could give 0 stars I would. Elevator continuously completely stops working and there are NO EMPLOYEES after 10. Therefore you are SOL in the case of an emergency. (Which happened to us we had to go through back alley of Miami to be able to access our room due to no employees) which is extremely dangerous. The front desk worker also went through our trash can and questioned something we threw away from the previous night (very creepy) and unprofessional. Also he recommended we stay somewhere else next time due to our group leaving late at night because this is not a "party" hotel however we never intended nor partied at this hotel. We simply used this hotel for sleep and to get ready and it still was a terrible experience. It looks cute in pictures but is very poorly designed and a few of the workers are very unprofessional and rude. read more

Manage your expectations! This is not a full-service hotel. Staff is not present at night. In our case this unfortunately meant there was a guy bleeding in the lobby and cops and EMS workers everywhere and no staff to help guests understanding what was happening. We also requested a room with an ocean view that we didn't receive. There was also confusion between the kitchen and "hotel" part of the operation; although Local House materials say there's room service available, this turned out not to be the case for us. The pros are that it's really well located on the beach and has a nice plunge pool on the room. Not for those needing a polished hotel experience. read more

This hotel is AWFUL. Charges high rates and then provides ZERO customer service. The elevator barely worked, the lights in the hallway were out and they don't have 24/7 front desk support. My friends and I got locked out of the hotel one night and they didn't pick up the phone when we called to get in. This also happened to the people staying in the room next to us. Then when we checked out there were a bunch of extra charges on our room that they couldn't explain. Completely sketchy and horrible. read more

I just was on a hunt for eggs Benedict , nothing more , nothing less. And so my friend told me about this cute restaurant that she's being dying to try. "Do they have eggs Benedict? Yes? Say no more" we were seated immediately , keep in mind this was 8Am on a Monday morning . We started off with a glass of their Bellini which was refreshing . Later came our food and finally the moment I've been waiting for . The presentation was gorgeous and instagram approved ! It tasted fresh and delicious . I absolutely adored this place. I risked trying it out as a last minute deal through Hotels Tonight. Scored a great, discounted room and it exceeded my expectations. The room and bathroom were so cute as well as the cutest trendy decor through out the hotel. Considering I literally spent about 4 hours researching tons of Miami Beach hotels and B&Bs with good star ratings but that still had terrible sketchy reviews from noise to cleanliness to hidden fees and bug concerns, I felt I lucked out. None of these were issues here. Walls were a little thin so there was some noise the following morning but not too bad. Crisp clean white sheets, and an extremely comfortable memory foam bed which I loved and made it hard to get me out of to go anywhere, lol. Check in was super quick and easy. Great customer service from the concierge too. They even offer beach bicycles and beach accessories that are free for guests to check out and use. They also had a free glass of wine in the evening for guests and a fresh pitcher of fruit infused water out next to the elevators. How wonderful! Finally, a hotel that gets all the details right! I would say its a very good location across the street from the beach and a close walking distance to the popular restaurant strip along Ocean Dr and not too far from plenty of lots to park your car. We felt very lucky considering the discount we got for a clearly much pricier room in an upscale, boutique hotel. The pool/rooftop bar was closed for maintenance but I imagine it will be great when its back in service. Also, highly recommend their restaurant downstairs. They had some enticing looking cocktails and every meal prepared that I saw come out was lovingly prepared, delicious, and gourmet looking. Friendly service and great views. If/when I come back to South Beach, I would highly consider coming here. If you are on the fence about staying here, and indecisive like I am, I say, DO IT The only drawback was the distance to Lincoln Mall if thats something you want to be close to, walking distance. I attempted walking there from the hotel which, in retrospect, was a terrible idea considering it was blazing hot outside over 100 degrees out and it nearly killed me from heat exhaustion it was so far! read more

Yes, pretty sure this is my new favorite hotel on SoBe. So relaxing, clean, modern and classy. It doesn't really feel like you are in the sassy part of MIA either, it really feels like you are away from the hustle and relaxing in a beach side condo. The entrance is filled with relaxing beach furniture including hammocks and fun games like ping pong. No, it's not cheesy, it's done very classy. The front desk is just a desk upon opening the door and the three people I interacted with during my time were delightful and extremely helpful. There was lovely, subtle beach decor all throughout the lobby. On the second floor where I was staying, room 6, the hallway was lined with barbie photos. Didn't really get how that went with the them but I liked it. My room was the perfect size and even though I was alone, I had two double beds but it was still great. I had the pleasure of staying in a "blue room" and the other option is "sand room." I dug the blue, it was calming and relaxing. The bathroom was so spacious and that is huge for me in a hotel. It was a stand up shower only but it was huge and all clear so it made the bathroom seem even larger. There was an option of a removable sprinkler or overhead rain. There was tons of counter space which is perfect for us women! Molton Brown of London Toiletries are featured. The beds were so fluffy and comfy. The balcony was small but the perfect size for a chair on a glorious evening to kick back, watch the moon and look at the beach just a block away. It was so awesome because the sliding door was from floor to ceiling and I opened it for a perfect breeze for the evening. Memory foam mattresses, for the win! A very cool piece about this place is you have to put your key in a slot to work the electricity in the room, def helps with conservation and helps you remember to grab your key before you leave! Only thing I didn't love: The shower door opened inward so you had to like tuck into the corner to get in and out. Just a tiny malfunction in an otherwise perfect hotel. 2 blocks from STORY nightclub, perfect for the overnighter just to get your dance on! They offer valet parking, just call the front desk as you are arriving and they will have someone meet you out front. Free Wi-Fi! I wish I had more time to check the entire place out but I will def be back many times in my adventure to Miami! Def check this spot out. read more

The ONLY reason why this hotel receives two stars is because the manager refunded me half the weeks bill after trying to contact her daily for a week and harassing the blogger that recommended me to stay here. The hotel is actually gorgeous to look at- very beachy/chic and rooms are nicely set up. However, I happened to being staying there the week that the manager was in costa rica and there wasn't a manager, supervisor, or anyone to take care of the laundry list of problems we had during my stay. 1) pool was not functional the entire week we were there due to a myriad of problems. 2) ice bucket in room with NO ice machine (wtf?) 3) shower stopped working WHILE I WAS IN IT. was told it would turn back on in an hour. 4) Toilet stopped working. No working toilet for 24 hours. had to complain MULTIPLE times to use toilet in unoccupied room. (what kind of motel/inn doesn't have an on-call maintenance person?!) 5) pool overflowed down 4 flights and shorted out fire alarm. we were evacuated at 430am the night of my birthday, and the fire dept had to come and shut it off. (not to mention trying to get down 4 flights of stairs in knee deep flowing water) 6) every time I went to the bar to get ice, the staff had no idea what i was talking about or why i needed it. One even replied "sorry i dont speak english". This is Miami, a major metropolitan area in the US right? 7) our partial beach view included two huge apartment skyrises, completely blocking the ocean. Pros: gorgeous drinks, laid back atmosphere, the wait staff that did speak english were superb (shout out to Marianna, Phillip and Ennedi). Also, I loved the fact that towels, beach chairs, and beach bags were provided! This place could be the sweetest gem in sobe, but it fell short for me. Sorry guys! read more

This is a beautiful modern hotel. The room is absolutely beautiful, the bathroom beautiful, and the beds are very comfortable with memory foam and memory foam pillows (plus regular pillows if memory foam pillow is not your thing). The shower is very awesome too, one of those rain shower heads where the water comes on you from above. The only downside is it is perhaps TOO energy efficient..the air conditioning kept turning off at night and would only reactivate if you waved your hand in front of the motion detector to turn it on again. It is in a PERFECT location, beach is visible from most windows and its literally across the street. The beach in that area (4th street) is not nearly as crowded as other sections of south beach. Kind of private. It's very quiet at night and the pool area is beautiful. It's not a swimming pool in that it is not very deep..it's designed just for lounging and sitting in the underwater bench. The rooftop has a lot of tables and chairs, perfect for a lunch or breakfast you might take up there. The hotel has no bar or restaurant, it's very basic. The service was excellent as well, Alex at the front desk answered all our questions and recommended tons of good places to eat. This to me, is the best possible place to stay in South Beach. Another small downside is it is in the extreme southern portion of South Beach, so if you want to go to Lincoln Avenue it can be quite a walk in intense Florida heat, but cabs are plentiful and cheap. Park at the garage on 7th and Collins, it's cheap and large. read more

I'm saddened hotel this hotel treats servicemen and woman. This is my second stay at the hotel. What a complete 180 degree from my first stay. Since my previous stay there was a policy change which requires the hotel to hold an additional $100 deposit for each day that you stay. ( Originally bill $601 plus $300 security deposit). This is not explained to you when you book the stay only when you arrive to check in. Very wrong! The shift manager Victoria was not helpful at all in explaining the policy change. This policy makes sense if you are paying with a debit card or gift card. When you present your American Express Card and they still insist on taking the deposit??? This is no longer the place for me. Now for $601 plus $300 deposit, one would think that I got a room with a great view. Nope!!! I got a room with a view of the alley and rooftop of the building next door. The rooms have always looked a little worn but this room was definitely in need of some fresh paint and carpet. Furniture beat up more than usual and the bathroom was descent. The pool area was definitely poorly maintained. Cracked and chipped paint on the pool deck and walls. No the 4 or 5 Star Hotel I once knew I am very disappointed in the service, the upkeep of facility and the last minute policy. Extremely disappointed overall! Will never stay here again. Hotel was very racist and not accommodating. We had 3 people in a 4 person and when we arrived we were only provided with 2 sets of towels. We called the front desk and we were told that there were no face towels and we didn't get any the entire weekend. After checking out we were charged an additional $400 for makeup being on towels and pillow cases. We were also charged for bath mats that were not provided. We reached out to the hotel and they basically said they didn't want to do laundry to just wash the make up out and they were charging us to replace towels, duvet and pillow cases. I've never had this kind of experience with because of something simple like makeup. I guess if our makeup was lighter it wouldn't be a problem because but we're black figured it was okay to scam us mad over charge us. There was also a young male housekeeper that was rude and kept following us throughout out the hotel. When we were leaving to check out he was standing outside of our room listen through the door and watched us leave. read more

I stayed here over the weekend and regretted the decision before we even checked in. You would think management would be on top of things being Memorial Day weekend but no. Valet service was a joke and it took us 30 minutes to drop off our car and at the same time of being pulled on curb, another car stopped beside us and were just as confused and upset about the whole valet situation. Very ,very irritating. The front desk girl had no idea of how to explain anything thru the phone or in person. The bathroom was dirty. The mirrors were smudged and hair on the floor. We called front desk to see if she can send someone in to clean but she said all the maids had gone home. Also the bathroom door does not shut closed. The mini fridge was not cool at all. The pool itself was nice nice but there were no clean towels in sight, only dirty ones. Rooftop was kind of sad -- nothing special at all. The lady at night was very nice and helpful tho. I actually booked my stay at this hotel based on the great reviews I read from various sites but my stay hasn't been as awesome unfortunately. My room toilet did not flush well which was very annoying. The carpet stained as soon as you walk in. My face broke out after sleeping on their pillows so they may not be as clean as they should. The fridge is barely cold so my drinks were nearly room temp. These beach chairs & umbrellas are not already on the beach, u have to walk with them over to it which is a hassle. Elevator was broken on my arrival but fixed quickly. By the way, the beach towel I did have in my room was folded very nicely, took it to the beach, unraveled it, spots throughout the towel, like I don't know if it's clean. My review is extremely overdue as we visited in 2018 and the hotel was actually under a different name at the time. Anyhow, this hotel was very memorable so I had to make a review. My boyfriend and I booked for a 2 nights stay before our cruise. We arrived pretty late so we were really tired and it was hurricane season so it was rainy. Everything about our room was perfect. The lobby was really cute and chic. It's a really clean, quiet and charming little hotel. We had a small balcony which was nice and it was very close to Ocean Ave. I purchased our room off of the hotels tonight app and got a pretty reasonable deal. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel over all the bigger name expensive hotels if you are looking to save a little money. I've stayed at several of the pricier, more luxe hotels and honestly I would rather save and stay here. It was just as nice if not nicer. The room sizes in Miami hotels are generally very small but this room was surprisingly quite large. They also have a cute little rooftop pool area that we actually had all to ourselves. It's particularly really nice and serene at night. They have a pretty nice happy hour and give you a free drink while staying. The only thing I regret is not eating here. We passed by others in the lobby dining and the breakfast looked pretty good. I noticed the reviews are good as well. Next time I'll make sure to grab a bite! One other thing- they provide bikes and I believe I also noticed some specific items for the beach. read more

He has rave reviews on tripadvisor, and I was lucky enough to speak to him when I booked my reservations. He gave me 25 percent off, that was not advertised on any website! Thanks!
