I came here for the chicken fingers sub, and it did not disappoint. I don't know how to explain it other than it tastes like high school...it was my favorite then. When so many things in Key West have changed and the island feels like it's lost a lot of its charm, this sub is almost **exactly** the same as it was 30 years ago. My family was excited to see a Miami Subs on vacation. We haven't seen one in years! Going inside was very nostalgic--the pink and blue color scheme just brings back memories of the 80s and 90s. They do have a veggie burger on the menu, but a sign inside let us know that the veggie burger is cooked on the same grill as meat products, so if you are a vegetarian, keep that in mind. My daughter had the chicken sandwich and there was a hair in her food which promptly led to a loss of appetite, so she didn't have much to say about the taste of the sandwich. My husband ordered the cheesesteak and said it was pretty good for a fast food sandwich. Overall, even with the hair in the food, we'd give this spot 3 stars. Upon arriving to Key West late on a Monday evening at the end of August, we were starving. I did a quick search on Yelp for nearby restaurants. There wasn't much to choose from as most closed early or had limited hours due to Covid. Miami Grill was open though and had great reviews! The menu sounded like exactly what we were looking for as well. We realized they had a drive-thru and were located nearby our hotel. I ordered a salad and my hubby ordered a gyro. We didn't wait long for our order and all employees were super friendly! Our food was great and definitely much better than "fast food" type late night food. Update: We went back for hamburger and onion rings and I have to say it sadly wasn't good. It didn't taste freshly cooked. The meat was dry and the bread was dry. Onion rings were just ok. I eat here more for convenience than anything. They make a fast cheese steak, however there are much better options on the island. It's a franchise, so I do not expect all that much to begin with. I don't dislike Miami Grill, I just don't get excited about it, however I will still happily eat there. I will say that their whole cheese steak is a pretty good portion for the price. So cool that all of their employees are unique, I reaaaaaalllly wanted my order take by the fab Drag Queen, but we got a red bearded guy instead. Can't win them all! I took this photo after eating about a third of the dog. It's really a Polish. Not sure why they don't call it that. But it's huge and delicious! The dog, fish/chips combo less than $20.00... phenomenal! Way bigger than the Costco dog. I don't know if all the Miami Grills are this good but if they are, I will be going back. I wish Miami subs was back in Jacksonville. I used to love the Philly cheesesteak with the works. Very clean restaurant in Key West. The wait wasn't bad for as busy as lunch rush was. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was just as I remembered it in Jacksonville the same flavors. I love the fries so crispy and seasoned. I would like to see at least one store open back up in Jacksonville. I think a new building with fresh modern design would do well if they were to move back to jax. read more

People in South Florida don't know how lucky they are to have Miami Grills. Every time I'm in the area, I have to make a pitstop at one of these joints. Their gyro meet is SO GOOD. Try the platter or the sandwich, both are delicious. Like others have said, the Philly is also a winner, no matter what style you get. For something different, try the Veggie Sub. Let me note up front that the only reason this place is getting a 4 star is due to little bugs crawling on the walls near the booths. I mean tiny little ones and it may be possible this is symptomatic of the area and not the restaurant's fault. Upon entering we received a warm greeting. We had been seeing this place for a bit and finally decided to stop while we are vacationing in the area. I asked if the gyro meat was cut from the spit, and yet it was. Sold. Now currently I live outside of Philly in cheesesteak land so my wife would not bother with what could only be a tepid rendition of what we get at home. She went with the Cuban and she loved it. I had the gyro platter and I loved it. The boy had a cheeseburger. No complaints at all about the meal. Prices were reasonable and the place, the little bugs notwithstanding, was clean and bright. We will return before we leave. Don't miss this little gem away from the touristy Duval street. Don't let the store front or area dissuade you. Very good subs! The service was quick. They even have a drive thru! We went inside to order and took our food back home to eat in the nice weather. I had an Italian sub with everything and my boyfriend had the chicken finger platter with fries. The fries are seasoned and the platter came with 6 tenders. The bread on my sub was fresh and the house dressing/vinaigrette that they sprinkle on their subs tasted really great! We'd definitely go back for another lunch or snack.
