In my opinion every time that i go to this business i have an amazing time. Once you get here you will see how clean and neat it is. In my experience i have only had one small confusion but i got resolved really quick I got my money back because the lockers took my money but I immediately was refunded. There is only one danger there and that is if you fall and cut yourself but what do you want the employees to do, most the time they are in the arena. Every time that I go to the arena there is always atleast two employees in the rink to help you get up but that still doesnt mean that there is going to be an employee with every person at the same time. I didn't fall. That in itself is an accomplishment. I'd never ice skated, yeah, imagine that growing up in Miami and never ice skating. Weird, I know. When one of my fave yelpers called and said she wanted a group to come ice skate for her bday I countered with a skate rink but she was set on hitting the ice and who was I to argue about her party. So on Saturday I trekked to West Kendall, paid $9, bought some socks, donned a pair of smelly, smelly shoes that Phoebe could have made a song out of (Smelly Shoes, Smelly Shoes, Why Aren't They Cleaning You...) and hit the ice.... rink's wall. That is, I held onto the wall for dear life and tried to not knock over the other novices especially because the rest of them probably attend elementary school and many had parents with them. Lucky bastards. Ok maybe that's cause this being a popular party destination for the pre-teen set they brought out a Chicken to dance on the ice (yes, a mascot like actual giant Chicken) and I went out there and did my best. And damn it I was jealous of how some of those kids cut an ice rug out there so I vow to return if for nothing else for the accomplishment of being able to do the Chicken Dance along with the third graders. It is a large facility with areas for birthday parties that reminded me of the kiosks in Paris in the winter that sell food, accessories, hot wine, etc.. very cute. There are 2 rinks, one is for the serious skaters, aka. figure skaters practicing, or hockey leagues and the other rink is for the plebeians like us. This is very reminiscent (to me) of the roller skating rinks in the Midwest where I grew up. In all, it was a nice time for our daughter, and we are surely coming back. read more

I came last week and was able to purchase tickets and sign the Covid waiver in paper form. This weekend I get an attitude from two rude teenagers working the desk. They wanted us to make an online account and purchase and sign new waivers on there. Fine. Except online it wouldn't let us get past the card info page. Shitty website. Back to the rude teens they cut me off at my questioning if I needed to do a new waiver and if they kept it on file ? The redhead one cut me off mid sentence and said it didn't matter because they're trying to focus on the workers safety. So, a year into the pandemic is when they all of a sudden decide to dial up safety? What about safety last week when you made me sign on paper with pen? Why is 7 days much different? Also In the 20 minutes we were trying to figure out the website issue I saw the 3 young girls at the desk chatting, maskless, eating pastries, and counting cash, and definitely not distanced. Where'd practicing employee safety now? And where did the cash come from if you're only accepting online purchases?! Just ridiculous. And I was going to put my son in lessons because i wanted to put my kid in hockey. How much is that in lessons and Gear? I'll take my business elsewhere. Awesome! The perfect activity for summers in Miami. I got a groupon a few months ago and finally decided to go because it was too hot to do anything outdoors anymore. What a blast we had! Perfect temperature in the ice arena You obviously may need a jacket or scarf but it's totally worth it. I loved ice skating when I was a kid and finding a ice rink in Soflo is nearly impossible. The drive to west Kendall is a long one from downtown but the cooler air and stickiness free environment is very pleasing at the end. For 10 dollars you get entrance and skates. The ice skates are old and a bit painful after a few hours... you may want to buy your own pair if you go regularly. The crowd is rather young, teenagers going on dates ... guys racing... newbies... and a few older (like me !?). The music was ok and the disco ball funny. It is an oldies place, what you would expect from an ice rink 30 years ago. I liked the back to the future feeling and will gladly go again. This place really needs major renovations. It's extremely outdated. As soon you walk in, the walls need repainting and the floor looks outdated. As you walk towards the skates rental, it smells horrid! It smells like mole mixed with foot odor. All the skates they rent out are overly worn out, they are cracked in all areas. Cracked to the point we had to switch a few pairs until we finally got one that didn't pinch (Stab) the top of your foot. Prices are extremely convenient. There are plenty of parking outside. They also have lockers where you could leave your personal belongings. The DJ was amazing! They have a concession stand. Arcade with varies games. There are two skating rinks, one for the public and the other side for hockey players. I hope they update soon, if not honestly it's not worth it. read more

We came here with a Groupon we had purchased after the kids had been begging to give ice skating a try. We went on a Saturday afternoon so there were several birthdays going on and the rink had a good crowd. They also had music playing at a good volume with top hits that kept the skaters going. However, the place needs a facelift and a major clean up. It seems like it has never ever been cleaned. The walls and seats a filthy and so are the bathrooms. The ice on the rink was also slushy so perhaps they need to keep the temperature cooler. Kendall Ice Arena has a lot of potential. Ice skating in Miami's hot, tropical weather is quite a unique experience. And I'm sure we'll be back but it would be nice to see it cleaned up. read more

If you are looking for a place to entertain the kids of all ages then this is the spot. You should buy the tickets ahead of time on their website which might be a bit difficult to do. I had to go to the location and asked for old style part waivers. After insisting, I am was accommodated. The skates are definitely old and has a lot of wear but still very usable. For newbies there is what is called a seal that can be rented for an hour to push about while learning to skate. Don't expect the best bathrooms or food but you get what you pay for. read more

I use to come as a kid and hangout with friends and family. I recently paid them a visit after more than 7 years for my little cousin's birthday party. I definitely left leaving a little underwhelmed with my experience here. If feels as time has just stopped here and they haven't bother renovating or updating. The concession stand was not too bad, but the bathrooms looked and were dirty and messy. Also, lets not get started with the ice skates, they need to seriously change those out. They are not get to skate in and they also have a very bad smell to them. What i thought was the worst part about my experience here was the staff in charged to watch the kids on the ice. They were either on their phone not paying attention or skating around with the other staff members. When a child would fall, they didn't really hesitate to go check on them or see if they were ok. I went with my nephew and my sisters and they were learning to skate and they fell a couple of times and not once did they come to check on us. I feel that it's also because the staff is very young. Most seem like they are about 16 years old. I definitely don't recommend taking little children unless an adult that knows how to skate goes along, because your child can get seriously injured. read more

My wife and I decided to go ice skating for a date night to the Kendall Ice Arena. I hadn't been here in years and neither had she, so we figured we'd give it a go. Not much has changed over the years to be honest. On Sundays it's 11 dollars per person, which includes the skate rentals. The rink itself is pretty cool ( pun intended) and we had a good time. I'm giving it three stars because there happened to be a group of people who were causing trouble by skating the opposite way and knocking into people and none of the monitors seemed to be doing anything. This was kind of a big deal for me because this group was really making the ice unsafe and it sucked that no one from the arena was doing anything about it. This place was the worst! There are quite a few reasons why, but I'll stick with the most relevant for the sake of keeping the review short. First one-- the food was absolutely horrible! They didn't even make it in-house. Once when I was there, there was a delivery truck outside and a man was wheeling in crates of microwaveable mac and cheese. It was absolute junk. The least they could've done was make it there. Next thing-- the public rink is not safe to skate on, due to the enormous amount of reckless skaters that zip around at breakneck speeds. They supposedly enlisted some employees to help with this problem, but obviously they weren't doing their jobs. The last time I was there (it will remain the last time), one of them almost ran into me. And the safety person was about five feet away and saw nothing. The last thing is that the youth hockey program didn't monitor my child's safety at all. She became the target of a violent physical and verbal bullying attack that nobody did anything about. She then told the coach, who at first kept interrupting her and refusing to listen to what she was saying. Then he said that she was tattling on her teammates and punished her for standing up for herself. I even got a message from him afterwards saying what she supposedly did. Hello? My daughter was being bullied and she was the one that was punished! I pulled her out immediately after that. She talked to a therapist for months after that, and still isn't completely healed. I will never go back again. I hope you don't even bother coming ONCE. You will regret it. read more

Overall good experience since this is the only ice skating arena in Miami-Dade County. However, the party rooms are extremely small and very dirty! The food is mediocre as with most party places in Miami. And let's not get started on the states! The skates appear to have been around since 1980! I despise going to this ice arena. The only reason I go to this ice arena is because of its convenient placement given that it's the closest one in my area, but with the nasty attitude of the employees here, I DEFINITELY don't mind making the longer trip. I've come here a couple of times and it's super fun when I'm with friends. We skate, get a couple of snacks, play in the arcade, etc. But I can't remember a SINGLE instance where I have been treated with respect rather than attitude. As an employee at a Fast Food restaurant, I completely understand that some customers may be difficult to deal with, but as an employee it is my responsibility to de-escalate the situation best I can. But here's the funny thing... I do NOT come with an attitude. THEY do. An instance of this, you may ask? Oh, how about TODAY? I bought my tickets and all was well, the young woman at the stand was nice, but then when I get to the skate rental stand, it was a different story. Every time I get there, the employees are chatting with one another about very important stuff. I can tell because they're giggling, smiling, and laughing. Now, don't get me wrong, I love to talk at my job to my coworkers because it makes the time go by faster and who doesn't want to go home when they're working? But here's the thing... once a customer shows up, I cut the conversation short and continue it at a later time because, after all, I AM getting paid to do my job, no? I'm not sure if this applies to the employees here as well because they CONTINUE to chat and I have to wave like an idiot at them to get their attention. Once I do get their attention, ah man. Have you ever gone to a new group of people in hopes of becoming friends with them but you feel so unwelcome, like they don't want you there? In this instance, I don't want to be their friends, I just want my damn skates, but since I'm the one interrupting their highly important gossip conversation, they cease the happiness (and I guess simple human decency) and respond in a monotone voice. "What size?" I'm not telling you to be fake and happy to be there, I'm just telling you to at least be decent, you know... like a normal human being? Once I tell them my size, they just throw the skates on to the already terribly scratched countertop and resume their previously mentioned HIGHLY important gossip conversation. I put on my skates and skate for a while, but I can't seem to enjoy myself having this in the back of my mind. I was also hungry, but really didn't want talk to this one employee who worked at the cafeteria. I couldn't take the hunger anymore and unfortunately, she was the only one available. I was going to order a fried snack but then she told me they were "out". I thought that was kind of strange because I had just seen a previous customer come out with some and she put the bag away... so I ordered a different fried food but they were also coincidentally out? Weird... I didn't want to waste my time telling her this so I just got something else. Everything else went... decent until my order came out. She started yelling out the order instead of my name or "Ms., Ma'am, Girl" anything else would've been better. I didn't respond because I was distracted talking to one of my friends, but then I hear her getting louder and I turn around and realized it was my order. It was my fault and I apologized but she just gave me a sarcastic smile, went straight to a dull face, and just pushed the tray towards me (with the extremely greasy plate, should I mention) and left. Seriously, it's like only the Ice Arena employees are deprived of polite mannerisms or something because I go to the Dairy Queen in the same shopping center as the Ice Arena and they don't act in such a discourteous, unpleasant, and disrespectful fashion. Don't waste your time or money, this place is an injury waiting to happen. Rental skates and sharpened way past their life so that it's dangerous to use them, ice isn't maintained and doesn't freeze all the way so there are pools of water on the surface. Lots of ruts in the ice. If you want to go ice skating go to any of the other rinks in south Florida. read more

Skates are in TERRIBLE condition. Most are broken, not maintained and not sharpened. They actually just got rid of adult hockey skates because too many were broken. The ice is in as bad as a condition as the skates. Someone needs some Zamboni lessons. Weekends are packed to the point of it being unsafe. Strongly advise against coming here. read more

The Kendall Ice Arena has two rinks, a concession and game area, a small pro shop, and a restaurant/bar has a view of one of the rinks. Having any of the above amenities isn't common even at a lot of northern rinks. Knowing Florida's heat the ice is still decently maintained. I really appreciate Kendall for maintaining this rink as there are almost no others in South Florida. They have adult hockey drop-ins at a somewhat reasonable hour on Sunday. The talent level was respectable with just enough challenge for a Sunday night. Will return! read more

If you wake up one morning thinking, "you know what, I'm in the mood to fall on my ass a couple of times while smelling rubber and feet for a few hours," then boy do I have the place for you. I came here recently on a date with this beautiful girl who admittedly made it a much more fun experience than I anticipated. She couldn't skate well and I ended up dragging her along like a kid at a supermarket. A sexy kid. A kid I'd like to f... uh, crap, that took a weird turn. There are always wall spiders here. Wall spiders being those people who, for some reason, probably on a dare, decide that at age 48 they need to try ice skating for the very first time after a life full of grounded friction. These people spend their time holding on to that wall like it's made of Medicare. They fellate the shit out of that wall. Skating counter-clockwise gets boring relatively quickly unless you're training for the olympics or can only turn left like a Bizarro Derek Zoolander. I figured we would be there 10 minutes before she decided to make a snow cone from the ice I kept spraying on her pants and call it a day. Remarkably, we lasted much longer. Ice skating is, when you get right down to it, pretty fun. When we left, I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said "fresh" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare, but I thought nah, forget it, yo home to Bel-Air! I pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabbie "yo homes, smell you later," looked at my kingdom I was finally there to sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air. You just got Bel-Aired. Continuing on my with review. We spent the whole time holding hands because, as previously mentioned, I was required to drag her along making sure she didn't chip her pretty little teeth on the ice in the event that one of those hooligans skating a bit too fast bumped into her. By the way, you know exactly who the douche bags likely to fuck up your skating are. They're the assholes standing on a block of ice wearing a t-shirt. They usually also have a posse of similar 16-year-olds with them, at least one of which is a hoochie mama with excruciating amounts of lip-liner. Young ladies, when you paint your face, you're not publishing a fucking coloring book. Relax with all that tracing. These fucktards are fun to watch fall. My date and I started grading people's falls onto the ice. Some were 3s to 5s at best, others were worthy of 8s and 9s. When a wall spider falls it's the prettiest thing you can see at that place, unless you're there with my date. And if you are, fuck you, she's there with ME. PEOPLE WHO WOULD ENJOY IT: Anyone that can actually ice skate; high school freshmen; dudes who can skate well and want to show off to their lady friends. I could only recommend this place for pedophiles. The average age of people on the ice was probably 14, even with Michelle's birthday crew. I've been waiting to go ice skating since I've moved to Florida from the North. Walking through the halls at school, I've always thought how much awesomer it would be if the floors were covered in ice. So much more efficient than walking (hooray for no friction). The first pair of skates I put on smelled like ass. I ratcheted down the 2 straps on the solid plastic boot, and made my way onto the ice. I finally returned to the ice that I had been longing for, and as I pushed off...I moved no where. I made it about 5 feet from the door and had to wobble back. The skates were so dull you couldn't cut butter. I got a new pair, and once again, couldnt make it once around the rink. Finally the third pair had edges, but they were the most painful things I've ever put on my feet. Oh, and still, all the skates smelled like ass. Did I have fun? Yes. Would I go back? I would have given it 2 stars, but the definition of 2 stars didn't fit. "Meh, I've experienced better" This is the only ice skating rink in Miami-Dade County. So, no, actually, I haven't experienced better. I had a blast. It is my birthday weekend. I like to do things for my birthday. I'm just a get up and do something kinda girl anyways. Past birthday events have included kickball, line dancing, pool parties, Keys weekends, even slip & slides in the front yard. This year, I picked Ice skating. Now, let me be honest: 1) The rental skates stink beyond the range of which a human nose can smell. If dogs were allowed in, they too would be cowering. 2) They really hurt. I'm not saying ice skates in general hurt, just that these do. They rub your skin raw, pinch in the wrong places and were dull as well. 3) The bathrooms- think middle school. 4) There is no beer. But I still had a blast. Why? Because it's fun. You get a sense of accomplishment when you make it around the rink a few times without falling. Then try turning and stopping (I mean, other then just skating towards the wall and putting your hands out). Go backwards, if you're daring. There are arcade games. There is great pump-up-the-beat music. Anytime you get to act silly with a bunch of friends doing something you wouldn't normal do is good time. I felt like I was celebrating my 9th birthday, not my 29th. But we didn't get one of those cool ice hut rooms for the birthday party. Maybe next time. read more

It's certainly fun to ice skate, especially for those of us that didn't grow up anywhere near anything related to ice or the cold. So, this place offers a space to do just that, skate. The ice deserves 5 stars. Other than that , it has NOTHING going for it. It is filthy!! To the point that it's difficult to find a spot to sit down where you aren't sitting on dried up chewing gum or nasty wet areas. The skates are OLD and stinky, and the blades aren't sharp at all, making it even more difficult to skate. I'll be back, but I'll probably buy my own skates before I do, and walk in and out without touching one thing, except for the ice when I fall! read more

DJ is just terrible, doesn't know how to create a good vibe. Tidal or pandora can do better. Skates don't get sprayed with any disinfectant just hung back for later use. Kids are terrible at retuning skates and leave them everywhere. Kids vaping, not cool. With that being said skating is fun. Just don't think the Friday and Saturday night is worth the "extra".
