The WORST experience I have ever had stepping into a pet emergency. The attendant at the front desk had a horrendous attitude and extremely rude demeanor and was bothered by the first word. The wait was going to be 2-4 hours to be seen and the only way they can check you in is if you type your space number which I'm assuming they check periodically. I mentioned that I would check in but my husband was going to meet me there to take my place and the RUDE AF attendant said that wouldn't be possible with her snarky attitude. I have an infant at home and a sick dog, and this is the last place I'd feel comfortable leaving my pet with. I found another hospital that completely understood my position and were so kind. Good Choice. I am very happy My hearing dog is ok after one visit. She had been pooping and peeing and vomiting in the house. The problem got worse after a visit to my regular vet. I think some vets will make the dog a bit sicker to ensure return visits and maximum revenue. At MVS the prices are so high there is little incentive to screw up the dog. Additionally they probably have highly trained well paid vets with state of the art equipment. I love my dog so I will hesitate to use other vets in the future knowing the level of veterinary dishonesty in Miami. read more

I wish I looked at the reviews beforehand, as I think this place was an important contribution to my beloved family dog passing away. Our young dog was very sick so we brought her into the clinic to spend the weekend healing there, since the other vet where we were doesn't treat overnight over the weekend. they told us some of their thoughts about what she might have had. After the weekend, the doctor implied that their weekend team didn't know anything compared to him and whatever they said was wrong. When we pressed him on how he would make such a statement, he kicked us out of the clinic and said that he wouldn't give our dog any further treatment. It was one of the rudest and inhumane things I have ever heard of. When we told the practice manager about this, she led us to the counter to pay, and said that it was our word against Dr. Ganthous, implying we were lying. When we took our dog back, they said she had shown improvement and not puked over the weekend. We were charged an exaggerated amount of money ($3K+) for this terrible service. I pressed one of the doctors before I left, and he picked up the records and he did tell me that she in fact had been puking over the weekend. They lied to us to get us out of there and had we not pushed much further, we wouldn't have even seen that. That should be illegal. We took her back to the original clinic after the weekend, they said she had gotten worse over the weekend at Miami Veterinary Specialists. We left her there overnight (they do overnight on weekdays) getting similar meds that she was getting in this vet, in addition to other meds, and they charged us significantly less. I feel blessed to have found them because when I told them of what the previous clinic did and what they charged us, they allowed our dog to stay in their clinic for the next few days for free, including most of the medication free of charge as well. While she got better in some ways at this other clinic, the problem had spread to a different organ and we had to put her to sleep. The night staff that we dealt with when we went to pick up the dog was very professional and we thank them for their good customer service skill, in addition to the doctor who read that our dog had in fact puked. I felt the need to point out everything as it happened because there is something seriously wrong with a place that allows things like this to happen. read more

The front desk receptionist that was working 08/25 at 12am. Needs a course in how to be professional. She had an attitude the minute we stepped in with my dog losing a lot of blood. She then asked if we were notified of the wait time. She said it would be five hour wait. We understand there are others patients however we asked what happens if he bleeds out? I asked is there anyone who can stop the bleeding? And she said we would have to wait until the dog is dying from blood loss for someone to try and save him. I was disgusted. I asked if they had a list of other emergency vets and at first she acted like she didn't. She then pulled out a sheet listing other emergency vet clinics. My dog got into an altercation with a bigger dog. After seeing my regular vet, they referred me to a Vetrinary dentist in Weston to see about his broken jaw who said they were full up for weeks. Not even for an emergency. I tapped into my friend network and one of their vets referred me to the Miami Vetrinary Specialists. They are open 24/7. Called them and was told a surgeon might be able to see my dog that day, if not then in the morning. We drove over and were warmly welcomed. I needed that because I was a wreck, and hearing any more "no we can't help you's" would've done me in. The first person to see my dog was a tech wearing a UM Logo on his scrubs. That tells me they have the newest knowledge that students are learning these days. Then another gentle tech came in to take my pup to see the surgeon in the back. After reviewing the X-rays and my dogs history, and spending a good amount of time explaining all my options, the surgeon helped me feel good about the plan we made. The front desk staff, the techs, and the surgeon were wonderful. The pricing was as expected for the walk in visit. If you have a pet emergency, this is the place to go. read more

Please read!!! I don't wish anyone goes through what I have gone through at this facility. I know that I'm not the first one to say it but this place deserves to be shut down as soon as possible. The lack of care and empathy is ridiculous. I know it's one of the only places open 24 hours but please go elsewhere if you can! We even got told that the problem with us dog owners is that we care to much about our dogs. I don't even know where to start with all of the mistakes this place made while treating my dog. From the first day I got there paying absurd prices and hidden fees to getting discharged by the doctor not even knowing what our dog had and just sending some medication. Our dog kept throwing up continuously had to return the next day for another doctor to tell us that we should have never been sent home with the condition that our dog was in. However, this doctor wanted to run the same test that were just run the day before and charge us all over again. I had to basically guide them and tell them what tests I wanted to be done and that's the only way they were able to diagnose my dog correctly if not he would have died in a matter of days. While he was hospitalized they didn't plan on running any bloodwork. I had to ask the dr. why nothing was being done to confirm if the dog was getting better and guess what. It's because everything is PAY PAY PAY before even saving your dogs life. If you sit in the waiting room everyone that goes to visit their dog comes out crying because it seems that we're all going through the same nightmare with this facility. This places is extremely expensive and after paying $3000 to cure my dog the problem went back and even worse. My dog saw an oncologist and after many exams they told me it was not cancer and they sent him over 6 pills. On today's date I took my dog and because I was late to the appointment they wouldn't no see him. After I drove two hours in traffic !!!! Don't ever take your dog here they will kill him !!!! If it was not for the experience & knowledge of Dr Larin, my 16 year old chihuahua would not be sitting on my lap at this moment! My dog was taken to MVS with sub normal temperature, and severely dehydrated. Dr Larin, along with his assistant Karina, were both exceptional towards extending my dog's life! I felt as if the entire staff cared about my pet, as if my dog was their own. I will always be appreciative towards MVS for treating us as family. We brought our 13-year-old dog, Cookie, here after the quickly growing lump under her leg ruptured and she had uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. We originally thought the lump was a lipoma, as she had a history of those, but we were alarmed at its rapid growth, sudden rupture, and visible distress she was in. She was seen in 2-3 hours (not terrible for an emergency clinic), but the vets didn't even think to run blood-tests until 5 hours in (mind you, the vets knew Cookie was dehydrated, but they did not offer to administer an IV at this time). The first vet, Dr. Canyamas, said the mass was malignant, not a lipoma or an abscesSomething cancerous. We asked that Cookie be put down, as she was very old for a dog her size and moaning in pain (and we also advised we could not afford cancer treatment). However, Dr. Canyamas coldly refused, saying he was not "ethically comfortable" putting her down because, suddenly, he did not know if the mass was cancerous, and that we would "have to respect that." No compassion at all, and condescending. All the while, Cookie was still vomiting, weak, and clearly in pain. We asked that another vet at the clinic see Cookie, and after an hour, two nicer vets came in and looked at her. They advised they would x-ray her, and if the tumor had spread, they would put her down. They brought her back after the scan, saying the cancer had not metastasized. We asked for the x-ray, but they only gave us the written report. They were nicer than Dr. Canyamas, but said they could give her some steroids to shrink the mass to give her a couple of months to live (to prolong her inevitable suffering, I suppose). By this time, 8 hours had passed, and Cookie was still vomiting (she only had something to vomit because we were offering her water to drink), still in pain, and in a fragile state. They said her potassium levels were on the floor, and that we should leave her overnight for them to administer an IV with potassium. We knew this would cost several thousand dollars, so we asked if they could just administer one right then. They said they could not, but they could subcutaneously inject some saline with potassium and an antiemetic that would last 24 hours to stop the vomiting. We opted for that. They said if she continued to be sick, to bring her back (knowing that we could not afford for them to keep her overnight). They gave us some cards for at-home euthanasia and sent us away (after charging $1,200). The first thing Cookie did when she arrived at home was vomit. And she continued to pant and moan and vomit all through the night. She became disoriented, stumbled around confusedly, and refused to eat or drink. She collapsed onto the floor and could not get up. We lied on the floor with her all night while she breathed shallowly and moaned. If they would have given her an IV when they initially saw her, she wouldn't have needed to suffer for so long. We prayed she would pass during the night, but she held on into the morning. In the morning, we called one of the at-home euthanasia vets, and she arrived quickly. She said she was horrified at the treatment MVS provided (or lack thereof) and said it was the right thing to put Cookie to rest. Our beautiful old girl had to suffer for over 24 hours, only relieved by her death, which the clinic postponed because they wanted to milk a few thousand more dollars out of her suffering. Shame on you, MVS. We'd brought our other dogs there for years and given them tens of thousands of dollars to treat our pets. But they didn't care about Cookie's suffering or our suffering. They said we had to respect their desire prolong her misery, blatantly disrespecting our express wish to put her to rest. Miami Vet Specialists doesn't care about the animals; they only care to line their pockets with money from desperate pet owners by extending their pets' painful existences. You made my little girl, and my family, suffer needlessly because you want cold, hard cash. I hope you all buy yourselves something nice. Happy New Year. read more

Wrote this as a draft in April, but never published After reading the reviews in the waiting room while deciding whether or not to admit my kitten (who was deathly ill (FUO) I was very scared. Other reviewer's have talked about staff being uncaring and unkind driven by money and states that this was a business not a veterinary hospital. This was all the farthest thing from the truth. The staff at Miami veterinary specialist saved my kittens life. I brought her in on a Saturday lethargic, barely responsive, and unsure of what to do. They stabilized her and she is now on the road to recovery. You can call anytime for updates, and they allow visitation as well at all hours. With a wonderful open door policy and lots of love and attention I was reassured that my baby was OKWhile she was hospitalized. Thank you so much to everyone involved in Stormys care. Simon , 15 year old dachshund, was seen by ALVARO LARIN who recommended surgery to remove a tumor without advising of the side effects of surgery on an old dog and the quality of life of the dog after surgery . The dog was seen on a Wednesday and died on Sunday without any explanation as of cause of death . I believe a veterinarian doctor's purpose should be to relieve animal suffering instead of putting an animal through a profound amount of pain to financially benefit himself . A surgery shouldn't have been performed on an already dying animal, and the owner should have been given an honest answer. read more

I brought my dog in at 3:20 AM and there wasn't a single other pet there. The check in log showed the last person that had arrived was at ~10PM. I waited about 50 minutes to not even be seen by a vet and see them put another person in with the vet before us that arrived after me and my dog. my dog was actively bleeding from an open incision wound and it was getting worse from her being anxious and pacing while waiting. horrible service, no sense of urgency. the short haired technician didn't even have me sign in she just immediately put me in a room and forgot about us. don't take your pet here if you actually have an emergency, they might end up dying and you'll still have to pay. go to the emergency room in palmetto. this place should burn. read more

What an awful experience!!!!!!!  My friend's SERVICE dog, LUKE, was recommended by his Vet, Dr. Shaffer at Town & Country Hospital  to be taken to an Emergency center in critical condition because. Luke was diagnosed with pneumonia and needed an oxygen chamber + IV antibiotics. We needed to rent the use of an oxygen tank and carefully transport him for treatment, hopefully, to save Luke's life. The charge for treatment was around $800 and included X-rays and bloodwork. Our thanks to the staff & Dr. Shaffer at Town & Country Hospital for their caring and personal attention to Luke. There are only two emergency animal hospitals and Miami Veterinary Hospital was the closest.  When we arrived they took Luke in immediately.  Due to the Pandemic they did not let us in and we sat for two hours in the parking lot.  The staff came out immediately to collect our financial information and consent for treatment. The staff gave no explanations but came with a long list of costs to pay before they would treat him.  Many things were a REPEAT of Dr. Shaffer's orders plus many NEW diagnostics.  When we questioned the cost they refused to treat him until payment & consent were arranged for $450. In fact, they'd take my friend to collections if he wasn't able to pay for the oxygen services already administered... IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!  We requested that they follow Dr. Shaffer's orders, use his X-Rays and bloodwork...they refused. They said that they didn't agree with his diagnosis and questioned if the dog had been hit by a car or eaten something toxic.  This process went on for hours.  Unless the contract was signed, with no explanation of charges, and paid upfront Luke would not receive further care. At this point they told us that we needed to PICK UP the dog and take him to another Vet...but he needed oxygen and it isn't available in a normal Vet's office.  This dog was special...he was a SERVICE dog and constant companion of a Disabled Veteran.  The projected bill for them, to just look at the dog, was between $4,500-$6,500 and the final bill could be a lot more. Dr. Laren was rude beyond belief, totally unprofessional and only thought about the money and not the dogs well being. Dr. Laren said, "if you want us to treat him (Luke), payment must be made, I don't have the time to talk! If you don't have the money maybe he should be euthanized." This came from a Veterinary Doctor...NO COMPASSION... for the dog nor my friend. It was all ABOUT THE MONEY. I understand that it is a business but animal lovers will do anything to save their dog's life...MVS didn't give us a chance! We felt that they should start treatment for Luke, give us time to arrange payment. I paid the bill for $668 which covered all of Luke expenses at that time. Needless to say my friend, the disabled Veteran, didn't have the immediate means to pay and they made no effort to help or even offer a payment plan. My friend was put in the position of making a most painful decision. So Luke didn't suffer any more, he had Luke, his "buddy", best friend and constant companion... EUTHANIZED.  He is DEVASTATED!   Luke was euthanized at 12:11am and cremated the next day. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!! read more

They have a very poor process in which they take the pet to the back to assess them without you and then they send the high school tech to deliver the recommendation. It is with a very heavy heart that I write this review. We recently lost our beloved 11 year old Yorkshire Terrier, Cocoa. We'd had Cocoa since he was a puppy, and needless to say he formed an irreplaceable part of our family. He will forever be missed. Cocoa had had issues with his tiny little knees and had been seen by this clinic before. When he developed an issue with a second knee, we brought him in for surgery. During the pre-surgical labs they discovered he had a mass near his liver which they instructed needed to be removed before proceeding with the other surgery. Since Cocoa was so important to us, we didn't question shelling out several thousands of dollars for his surgery and even went elsewhere for a second opinion. Since Cocoa had been operated on at this clinic before, we chose to go back instead of going to Brickell Animal Hospital which is where our other dog goes. At no point were we told by the veterinarian or the staff that Cocoa would have a 50% chance of surviving the surgery. If we'd known that to be the case, we would have been better-prepared for his passing and possibly wouldn't have gone forward with it at all. That sort of lack of communication puts pet owners in a very uncomfortable and weak position. I for one am very resentful that the lack of information put my family in a position where we were unable to say a proper farewell to our beloved family member, or to be there with him when we passed. Throughout the experience, we had several issues with the unnecessarily insensitive and uncaring staff at Miami Veterinary Specialists. First, we were told to drop Cocoa off at the clinic at 7:30 am. He'd had no food or water since the night before the operation. The operation was initially to take place at 11 AM, but didn't actually take place until well after 1 PM, not only did poor little Cocoa lose his life to these people, but he was probably also thirsty and starving. To add insult to injury, a technician confused Cocoa's gender when we called to ask how he was doing, and when my sister drove there after we received a call telling us that he wasn't doing well after surgery, the same tech continued to refer to Cocoa as "she" after he'd passed. One would assume they'd be a little more sensitive after a pet has just passed away. When Cocoa was brought out after he'd passed, the techs didn't even bother to close his eyes or shut his snout. Seeing him that way was traumatizing. His little tail was also covered in feces, which they didn't even bother to wipe off before bringing him out. This was not the last memory anyone would want to have of their beloved family member. We were bombarded with emails to sign receipts for the hospital bills right after we left the clinic. We'd just lost our beloved pet that we'd had for eleven years as a result of a surgery performed by them and here they were sending emails asking us to sign the receipts "ASAP?" After discussing the experience amongst our family, we decided to ask for some form of reimbursement. When we called, the Manager was cold, insensitive and abrasive. She advised that she would run it by the Doctor, but that everything ran by her anyway. We were just reimbursed for the night that Cocoa passed, and for the cremation expenses. This experience has left our family feeling pained and broken. We'd have given anything to say a proper goodbye to our pet. The thought of Cocoa passing without any of us by his side is heart wrenching. If you love your pet anywhere near as much as we loved our dog, please keep them far away from Miami Veterinary Specialists. read more

This is the second time I take my Main Coon to MVS. The first time they had him for two days and they could not figure out what was wrong with him. Now, after waiting two hours, I am told that he is not sick enough to be seen in any possible defined timeframe. Sneezing and congestion is not dire enough. Here's what really not right. 1. The lack of professional communication from Guillermo. I urge MVS to teach their staff how to talk to people. Guillermo entered the room with an agenda. His agenda to get me to understand that my cat was not sick enough. Instead of explaining that the symptoms are not likely dire or could not likely turn into something dire enough. As a cat owner, I was worried. His agenda was more important than my worry, and that is a problem. 2. The only reason triage happened was because I complained after waiting for two hours. We have been to everywhere and anywhere over the sun. 90% of the time, we find ourselves getting overcharged or pushed for unnecessary tests. Not here. Honesty came first when we brought our King Louis in for an allergic reaction. Before seeing a physician and getting charged for a million dollar workup, they recommended other interventions and could have EASILY taken advantage of the situation and didn't. I brought my senior dog in for heavy breathing at night. MY dog was happy and able to walk before I left him at MVS for ultrasound testing. They positioned him in such a way that now a month later he still Cannot walk and we have to consider putting him down. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE . Guess what her repeated responses were: ummm I dunno, I just started my shift. When I pressed her, guess what she answered: ummmm I dunno, I just started my shift. This could have been a very different review. We decided to take our cat as he was experiencing issues. I called ahead and once I arrived there they quickly came to get him from the car due to Covid. The girl quickly said they will assess him and if he is critical it is $750.00. Within a few minutes she came out with a paper asking for $750.00. Minimal explanation of the services this included. Yes, I could have read it better but felt so rushed. Soon the vet came out and spoke with us. Gave us some resources and was very kind. Soon we signed for the $750 charge and told they would bring out a medical plan. We waited quit awhile and the vet saw us, asking us why we were still there. Said if they didn't come out to call them in 5 min. Gave them ample time and called. Was told they were working on it and give them 20 min. One hour later came out with a quote of $1500 to $2500. Paid the difference of the $750 and $1500. Also asked for a quote of the price of the surgery our cat needed and was told I would have to pay for the surgeon to give me a quote but had to wait until Monday. The next morning I called to see how he was doing and was told they were doing rounds and I would hear later. Called again later and ended up being on hold until the phone hung up. Called again and was told that I would be out on a list to be called. Nothing. Called again and was told this time they had a big trauma coming in but was on the list to be called. Although the person who I spoke with sent me 2 pics of our cat. I started reaching out and found a vet who could do the surgery on Monday and able to give me a quote. By 10pm Sunday I figured I would not be receiving a call back. Got up early Monday morning and called to explain that I would be taking him for surgery with another vet. They asked me if I had been contacted to pick him up??? I told them I called several times the day before and never got any information. They did pretty quickly have him ready and keep him with his IV and catheter, at my request for the surgery. I was informed that I would be getting a refund which would take 10 days. When you leave your beloved pet and $1500 you expect some kind of update over a 24+ hour period. Just think they could do a better job. read more

Horrible experience! I came here because they are a vet specialists/hospital 24 hour facility and had come once previous year and saw Dr. Andrade and had an excellent experience. With that said, I had an emergency with my dog last Tues 6/30 and i called to make sure I could rush over. Unfortunately, due to Covid owners are not allowed in the facility but I explained my dog was having seizures and it took 3 calls from me to get someone to pick her up from my car. Someone came to my car for me sign a form and pay $350. It has been 15 minutes and they were quick to request payment, yet no word on my dog's status. I finally received a call from vet working at time I believe Dr. Valentina Haus (only spoke to her once for about ten minutes once I had dropped off my dog). She mentioned her shift was over and I would receive a call with my fur baby Olivias diagnosis and progress. It is now Friday, July 10 still waiting for "the call"! I called the following day at 6am and spoke to a tech to see how Olivia had slept through the night. I was informed the vet who had seen her would start shift at 7am so to wait a few hours for a call back with results. By 4pm, I had not received any calls, texts or emails only one asking for $2,085. That call was obviously from one of the receptionists, NOTHING from any VET. By 4:30pm, I was frustrated, upset and very disillusioned by a place I thought was great and really loved their patients and treated customers with respect. I spoke to manager and said I was on the way to pick up my dog, basically they had no choice! I was met at parking lot since owner's are not allowed in with manager, another vet (not original one when Olivia was first admitted) and meds. I NEVER received a call to this day of conditions, or diagnosis but rather was emailed an 11 page paper of lab results and other information that unless one works in the field, it is almost impossible to understand. Funny part is the first page said follow up arrangements- drop off dog for an ACTH stimulation test and to have dog fast night before. After not hearing anything from any hospital staff at Miami Veterinary Specialists for over. Week I called yesterday to have any doctor call me as to the ACTH procedure (how long it takes, what is it, what is the cost) and basic customer service or human decency to explain my pet's diagnosis from previous week. If you have any medical emergencies for your pets, DO NOT BRING THEM TO MVS! there is no excuse for the way this has been handled! I was charged the $2,085 plus the $350 initial fee and yet do not know what was wrong with her. I have called and left messages all day long and it seems to always be an excuse. You will be robbed of your money and based on my experience, they only care about the money not your pet or their health. So very thankful to the emergency evening team and Dr. Larin for the pre and post care of my dog, she shattered her front left leg running (Lord only knows how she managed to do that) and they were quick to attend and schedule surgery for me the next day. I was referred by Banfield for my baby girl we just found out she had a large mass and diabetes and advised us to come this place to stabilize her upon arriving I spoke to the front desk and advised her that the dr from Banfield called to let you guys know we were bringing our dog in she said no one has called and it's a 3 hour wait I told her that they wanted me to bring her to possibly do a cat scan on her as well the lady in the front very rudely said your not getting that done today I looked at her and told her I am well aware of that this lady began to tell him to fill out a form she texted and to sit down. I was just hell no she just did not talk to me like this I walked out this rude lady needs to ne retrained and show some compassion for me because she is clearly lacking this I was not goi g to leave my baby at a place that treats me so rudely I can just imagine how they treat the animals stay away from them I will be calling and making a complaint read more

I will never take my pet there again, horrible customer service and unfair practice. They take advantage of pet owners situations at the moment and use it as leverage. No fair pricing at all. I was originally quoted by west bird animal hospital for the surgery at 1,200. I said ok tell them I'm on the way. ( I had to pay $700 at the west bird facility to get my dog hydrated and stabilized for surgery) turns out when I get to Miami vet specialists the surgery was more like 5-7k. And they wanted to charge me again to hydrate and stabilize the dog. After all the back and fourth I was not able to pay the price they were asking so I had no choice but to surrender him. However, I left a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and all of a sudden Miami vet specialist said they felt bad and would hand over my dog if I removed the complaint that was filed and payed 2k instead of the 5-7k. I was originally going to let it go from there but after doing further thinking, I have decided to fight tooth and nail. I will be filling a complaint with the department of business and professional regulation in Fl and if need be I will file a lawsuit. I still can't shake the awful feeling I have towards this place four years after mistakenly bringing my cat here. The unsupervised intern, Dr. Alderetta, was rude, which I would've been okay with had she been competent. She kept him for two days and we would've had a better time in a closet full of clowns. She grossly misdiagnosed my cat for eating a toxin. He had a large renal tumor that was palpable to the vets at Lauderdale Specialists where I took him afterwards. read more

This place should not be called a Veterinary ! They only care about the money and don't actually care about the well being of the animal. I drop off my dog overnight due to breathing problems, they were very persistent wanting to do more exams with him when explained that we had already done them in serval occasions. We finally got them to understand what the dog needed as per his personal vet instructions. Next morning his drop off like a package .. worse treatment every seen . No final report or advise as to his condition. No documents were given and he was in worse conditions !!!!'n Looked like nothing was given to him !! They treated him like if he was another number. I made an appointment to see the Oncologist, and he was great. He sat with me for 1 hour and listened to every single one of my concerns. He gave me every single option available to treat my dog. Usually vets don't want to talk to 'pet parents', they want to rush you out, but this doctor was great. Regardless of the fact that i will very likely not proceed with the treatment there, due to the elevated cost, i sincerely appreciate the fact that he listened to my concerns, gave me options and was kind. Not the usual way vets (in miami) treat patients. The Tuesday Oncologist that flies in from North Carolina (don't recall his name) is a good human being. read more

NEGATIVE stars. Over the phone, the so-called vet, Carles Canyamas, told me an entirely different diagnosis and prognosis from the facility's own reports. Harsh and lacking in compassion, he said, "Your dog will be dead in 24-48 hours." No "I'm sorry," or "I hate to tell you." Said the only option was euthanasia. THEIR OWN REPORTS - which they would not give or send to me, causing me to return to retrieve them almost a week later - gave an entirely different diagnosis and suggested oncology and follow-up tests in a few weeks. The facility was non-responsive and/or rude to my regular vet who had questions. Obviously, the entire operation is overwhelmed with too few vets and too many clients, but that's NO EXCUSE for how lousy things are handled there. They have NO PROBLEM spending all the time in the world detailing very expensive procedures and demanding money, but that's the only thing that's done well there. Most people expect to pay good money for emergency care, regardless of the outcome, but they don't expect to be treated like dirt and handed totally inaccurate diagnoses, especially when it involves possibly putting down the pet. By the way, my pet has been treated elsewhere, is still alive, and is expected to live into old age. read more

I took my service animal to this clinic on a Saturday, /7/28/18 in the morning. They gave me 2 invoices, a $1,300 and a $5,000 one. I was not clear as to the different invoices as they advised that the emergency vet would not be in until Monday. They put him in IVs and a catheter. The dr at that time advised he was under the impression my dog had a spinal embolism. He said more could be done on Monday when the specialty vet came in. Monday came and the so called specialty vet advised he was under the impression again, that it was a spinal embolism, but, needed an additional $700.00 in X-rays to confirm and then treatment from there. He proceeded to tell me that his German Shepherd had suffered one, and eventually he had to put him to sleep. Great hope he gave me. I took my dog from there to my regular vet, who was now open. My dog was diagnosed with Aspiration to both lungs, he died 3 days later, 8/2/18. Now, the 21st of August, I'm still trying to collect my $200.00 in overpayment that was paid in cash from MVS! They kept transferring me around, I can't get my money from an overpayment. But, they were quick to collect and not perform any so called emergency services. In other words, if you love your pet, do not bring them here. They are only there to overcharge and do nothing. Thanks MVS. 7/6/20-update in this loser Hotel California...check in, but, u don't check out. Do not go here. Go to Knowles or the new hospital on Bird Road. This place is not only price gauging, but killing the animals. I've lost 3 animals here. Lost one this morning. They lied to me told her she was fine, only to call me back that she had passed. I hit there within 30 minutes, my dog was in full rigormortis. The dr never never even had the guts or cojones to come out and talk to me directly. Close this place down, or learn to be doctors. This place will shove paperwork in your face, charge you twice as much as other vets, and leave you waiting for hours before they try to extort money out of you , putting your pet at risk while they decide the best way to manipulate you into opening your wallet.
