Amazing service. Everyone moves quickly to get your pet (family member) checked out. Evaluations come quickly and thoroughly explained. Tupelo Honey

My cat that this place killed.

lost my fifteen yr old buy Christmas morning last year and his dog brother is still with me but I know he misses his company too, I walked into this veterinarians office and when I went to check his cage he was dead. They knew he'd been undergoing chemo and Christmas Eve he was so weak I knew I had to do something but our regular vets office was closed I called one of the nurses and she told me to get him to the nearest 24/7 care to get him some fluids. When I arrived Christmas morning after they had him on fluids, he was dead in his cage, none of the staff even bothered to be watching him or even check on his cage and they knew we were willing to do a blood transfusion on him honestly have so many feelings about this that I probably won't ever be able to speak out loud about because I just don't know how to cope with pain of leaving him there to die alone around people who didn't give not one piece of their heart to take care of him like I would have, instead of my arms, instead of an ACTUAL ANIMAL PERSON. I cried the entire way home with his lifeless little body in a box, they tried throwing away the blanket I brought him in, before they boxed him up and handed him over to me. honestly the worst experience of my life. Do not bring your pets here unless your ready for them to die in a money pit run by people who don't even care to check on the animals in the cages in treatments in the back much less handle our emotions or their belongings after they've passed. I will continue to write my reviews and updates and make sure this place is acknowledged for the horrendous treatment it gives out to our most loved parts of our families. If you had a kid, would you leave them in a hospital that wasn't even checking on them knowing they had a terminal sickness that's was in remission and suddenly came back? I don't think so. You should be ashamed DR ALVARO LARIN

My dog with Mis aligned eye

Worst they hurt my dog purposely because they were mad with me I'm heart broken! I had a door slammed in my face when I felt the urge to check on my dog they slammed in my face poked his eye and I'm so hurt I trusted them until they got my money I was treated very bad and my dog misdiagnosed and hurt even if u love ur pet please stay away look at the pic his eye is missing aligned and they said he had a bruise in his eye I took him they're he had an injury when I left his eye was crooked sideways and big like twice as big as when I brought him there I'm lost in words this is a horrible place

This is her rear end. There was a complete "skirt" of fur that was very pretty. They took no care in preserving.

My dog went into anaphylactic shock at 1:30 AM Saturday night. Body releasing from both ends until collapse. Ran her down to this place trusting they would properly care for her. Dr. suggesting xrays because her neck seemed sore on one side, take full blood panel etc. My husband's description made me think a bee could have stung her, but we had no proof. She is highly allergic to bees and had been there once before because of this. The Dr. didn't think very likely. More interested in tests, "putting the pieces of puzzle together" Meanwhile she's not getting fluids, nothing. They supposedly needed blood test results before could administer. What did I know. The place wasn't crowded, there were animals in the back, but fairly quiet for a Saturday night/Sunday morning. They had my girl in the back in a cage. I signed all paperwork with "proposed" procedures. My husband left to go back home to get my cell phone with her vet's number in it. I'm standing, waiting and I tried to make certain with the girl that dog was at least getting IV fluids. She told me nothing was done yet as we hadn't paid. I somewhat lost it and reiterated out loud "you haven't done anything to my dog yet because I haven't paid?! I've signed all the paperwork, why would not paying you yet prevent you from helping her?! I'm waiting on my husband to get back with my phone" I had just fallen out of bed and had nothing on me. Dr comes out to tell us her phosphorus levels and glucose were high and needs to be put on phosphorus binders. He was going around and around trying to "solve" the puzzle. Meanwhile dog just sitting in cage having diarrhea. I think we left at 4:15 AM and I said goodbye to my dog, still no fluids, nothing. I really don't know how she came out of the bee sting because they never gave her any cortisone/benedryl. They insisted she sty there because of phosphorus, glucose level and diarrhea. $$$$ Went home to bed, woke up a few hours later only to find a dead bee by her toys where she had been scratching before the anaphylaxis episode started. Took bee to Drs. They didn't think much of it. Still can't take her home. Had to wait until 2:00 PM for another phosphorus/ glucose reading. Around 3:00 got a call from another Dr. He said that her levels were normal and that I could come get her in an hour. This Dr. finally agreed that the bee could have been an issue regarding anaphylaxis. She has/had long hair and generally vets will wrap the hair in a nonstick tape. I had asked the girl before all this began to please tape her tail and rear end from the diarrhea. They did nothing. They cut off about 6 inches of hair from tip of tail and all around anal area. I know this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but they had total lack of regard. Someone did try to braid either side of her rear end, which was at least an effort, but the rest was a chop job. I can't really care about the hair, but their mismanagement of her prognosis was unacceptable. Padding the bill with xrays, again when you're in shock what do you know? I forgot to add that along with shock we were already in, the girl comes out and tells us she has 3 staples in her stomach! I couldn't even imagine?! The Dr. came out a few minutes later to reassure us that the staples were not "in her stomach," that they were a certain type of staple that can be used when the dog is spayed. I'm so disappointed in this place I don't know what to think or do. I'm surprised I didn't get electrocuted the place is so shocking! I have no idea where I will take her now if God forbid another emergency arises. Very disconcerting.

Everyone from the front desk staff to the overnight techs to the doctors were so incredibly responsive and professional and kind. My Pomeranian puppy broke his leg on Tuesday and they saw him within minutes of walking into the clinic. Dr. Andrade performed his surgery and did a beautiful job. He has had minimal pain and the communication between techs and doctors and the patient's parents is so clear and professional. This is the place to go if your baby is injured or needs to see a specialist.

I brought my cat here after him having 4 surgeries and no other vet was able to help him or wanted that liability. From the first day Dr. Andrade was able to assess the situation and take care of the problem. Here he had his last surgery and is now well and healthy. He previously went to 4 different vets two of them being emergency hospitals. I am beyond thankful

With a very poor life expectancy after diagnosis, we moved to Miami and needed to find a new veterinarian for her. We were blessed to find this practice and Dr. Michael. The loving Care he was provided did not just prolong her life, it helped prolong her happy and enjoyable life as long as possible. It also helped us prepare to know when going on was not an option. The incredible compassion shown through their care was over the top superb. My most recent visit was to bring my new baby and for spaying. As always, the medical skill and compassion was remarkable. I am comforted to know that my dog's health is being overseen by Dr. Michael. There is one problem with this practice that I do need to call out. I'm a busy person and don't always have time to wait. I understand when I come in for emergency care that there will be a wait, depending on the other other appointments and emergencies being taken care of, but when I bring my dog in for scheduled spaying to drop her off and then return at the time that they tell me to pick her up I do not expect to have over an hour wait in the waiting room. But I did in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Having run a medical practice of my own for decades, I know the importance of valuing other people's time and feel that they do not value mine as well as they could. This is my only complaint, but it is not a small one. I will of course tolerate the wait because of my trust in Dr. Michael but feel that this is something they should work on by having systems in place to prevent weight time when it is unnecessary. I highly recommend this practice for the quality of Care but be prepared for the long wait times.

If there was an ambulance for dogs I would have called it. I have a German Shepherd so a big dog who is, honestly, hard to handle. Doctor Hernandez was extremely professional and helpful he understood how worried we were. He explained the procedure and took pictures of before and after the wound. And kept giving us updates. As well as the assistants, very helpful. DAY 2: Now here is why I might never bring my dog here again. I got an APPOINTMENT for 8:00pm. I was there on time and they "paged" for a bandage change. A simple bandage change took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get done. They had me wait for all that time just because no reason. My dog was even worst this time, he remembered the place and he didn't want to be there. He was restless, barking, going crazy, drooling, pleading for us to take him home. It was such a frustrating and horrible experience. Again I can't deny that they are probably the most knowledgeable veterinarians I have ever been to, but the lack of understanding of how time sensitive the situations they have to handle are take away their stars. Of course, before writing this review, I made a formal complaint through DBPR who is supposed to investigate and provide licenses for these establishments. Hope they look into this. Anyway, we came to this establishment (VEG ER for Pets) to bring our dog that just had a small leg injury. Without even checking the pet, the dog was needled for IV and was applied different pain medicines without any consultation. Several procedures took place thereafter including X rays and so (again, without consultation). At this stage, no veterinary had yet even look at the dog's leg. A veterinary came to us after a while with a long list of procedures the dog was being subjected to, and that we had to approve and pay in advance in order to continue. Different doctors and nurses at the establishment explained to us many absurd things that could be happening to our dog from a massive internal bleeding, to spinal cord fracture just to name a few. They have not even examined the leg yet, and actually never did. Since we were reluctant to sign the approval for the procedures they wanted to carry out, they left us alone clearly knowing that we were nervous and worried about all the unfounded diagnosis they have shared with us (clearly meant to generate fear). We decided to take our dog and leave, not before after they made us pay them $600 without any clarity under what basis were they charging this. I can certainly probe that all the procedures this establishment wanted to carry out were unnecessary and were meant just to increase the bill. That same night we left VEG ER for Pets with our pet and went to another veterinary where our dog was cured and treated completely differently for the same injury. The list of procedures at this establishment is completely different. The doctor quickly cleaned and look at the wound upon arrival, no IV was necessary though they did administer some medicine and did a X Ray to ensure everything was OK. In contrast, the list of procedures from VEG includes so many items that were total unnecessary and unfounded. Below, just a few of the things that appeared in VEG's list: Laceration Repair E-collar Peripheral Catheter Penrose Drain Lactated Ringers And there were so many more blood tests and medicines that the list is 3 pages long, while in the other establishment is just bandage, some medicines, x rays and that is it. I have shared the two establishment's lists of procedures with DBPR's officers for the investigation.

I was even thinking maybe I can switch vets if I like them but the immediate dismissal without even asking how serious the cat's injuries are was highly disappointing. Even if they did not have a vet available to see my cat, the least they could do was act like they care. ZERO STARS FOR CARE. FIVE STARS FOR NEGLIGENCE…read more My cat Saki has been a patient of Sunset Animal Clinic since October 2019. This review is regarding recent negligent lack of care of my cat Saki by Dr. Alyssa Gasset during two separate recent visits. I will preface by stating my cat Saki is a ferrel rescue cat and does require light sedation to be treated as she is temperamental when she is fearful or in pain. November 25, 2025/Tuesday Saki was seen Dr. Gasset for an inured left leg. I gave consent to sedate her in order to facilitate a thorough examination and x-rays and I thought labs would be performed. I was informed that Saki had been throughly examined and that there were no visible signs of broken bones or tears. Diagnosis was a "muscular" shoulder injury and Saki was injected with an anti-inflammatory. NO labs were performed to screen for infection or as routine baseline of health. Two day later, Saki was unable to walk without falling over, stopped eating and barely used the litter box. She confined herself to her bed and was clearly not well and in pain. I called Sunset Animal Clinic, front desk was helpful and encouraged me to bring Saki in following Monday morning. December 1, 2025/Monday I had previously confirmed my 11 am follow up appointment with Dr. Gasset twice, Saki's wellbeing was visibly demising daily. Her breathing was heavy, her heart was racing, she was not eating. Eighteen minutes prior to my appointment, as I am putting Saki and her carrier in my car, I receive a call from one of the front desk staff at Sunset Animal Clinic. As per Dr. Gasset's instructions, front desk staff was persuading me NOT to bring Saki in for her follow up. Front desk suggested I stay home with Saki and continue to monitor her as her health spiraled downward. I insisted that I was not going to cancel my appointment and would come in as scheduled. Abhorrent exhibit of compassion by Dr. Gasset. Saki was seen by Dr. Gasset who immediately commented on the noticeable leg swelling yet made no effort to examine why Saki was getting worse each day. I asked her to please sedate Saki and check her visibly swollen leg. She displayed not regard for her wellbeing and did not suggest routine blood work to rule out illness or infections. What Dr. Gasset did offer was a flippant idea to inject Saki with an arthritic drug. Recent scans show Saki does not have arthritis. I kept insisting on other options since she was in so much pain. Dr. Gasset's response was " We are limited when it comes to cats". After my constant insistence, she suggested injecting with an antibiotic in case Sake had a stomach ailment which was preventing her from eating. Dr. Gasset displayed zero regard for my cats health. She intentionally chose to not suggest blood labs and rule out any infection, chronic issues. She refused to sedate Saki when I kindly asked her to do so in order to assess the additional swelling. Saki was left zipped up in her carrier without a physical exam of her swollen leg. I was sent home with pretty much a "good luck let's watch her" sentiment. Upon our arrival home, Saki was lethargic and not well. Four hours later I walked into a room full of blood. Saki bled out all over her bed, sheets, floor due to a burst abscess. An abscess that formed as a result of negligent care and improper diagnosis from Sunset Animal Clinic's Dr. Gasset during not one but two visits with her. Saki was rushed to Town & Country Animal Clinic, total saving grace. Thank you Dr. Jennifer Seco for not allowing us to leave without compassionately diagnosing the cause of Saki's diminished health. Dr. Seco ran labs and carefully examined Saki's swollen leg. She found Saki had an infected bite wound which had caused a painful abscess. Dr. Seco cleaned her wound and did not release Saki until she was stable. I am happy to report that Saki is on the mend thanks to Dr. Seco. Dr. Alyssa Gasset lack of treatment prolonged Saki's breeding infection and suffering. Look elsewhere for care.
