If you even slightly fall under the category of being a "full figured" woman don't even think about wasting your time here. If you have hips, don't come here. If you have a nice butt on you, don't come here. If you weight over 100 lbs DON'T COME HERE!! I'm 5'9 175lbs and about a size 12 in dresses. This was my very first wedding dress shopping experience. I was so excited as I have been dreaming of this day my entire life. I brought two girlfriends and my grandparents who were just as excited for me. I left my 90 minute appointment within 20 minutes in tears! I had told the sales associate that I had browsed their website and found 4 dresses I'd like to see and try on. She picked them out and we went in the dressing room together. The first dress I could tell wouldn't fit me but I humored her and went with it, after all she said she had been doing this for over 30 years. I walk out to show my friends and family a dress that clearly didn't fit and quickly was ready to get out of that dress and try again. She proceeds to try to squeeze me in the 2nd dress and finally I asked what size these were and she said a SIX! I asked if she had anything else to try on in my size and she said no they only had 6's. Her reasoning was that they were a newer shop and didn't have all sizes yet. I totally get that but it would have been nice to know before making an appointment (my first ever wedding dress appointment) at that! I was humiliated and completely embarrassed! I am writing this review to make sure nobody ever has to leave a dress shop crying. That should never ever happen! THE BEST BRIDAL SHOP I VISITED! I found my dream dress through Jennie! I will say, I am very selective and wanted a very unique dress. I went to six stores and tried on many dresses, but no one treated me with as much warmth, patience, and love as Jennie despite my particular nature about my dream dress. Her shop has a great selection, many wonderful name brands, and I found pricing to be competitive, with somewhat better rates for alteration/modification options. Jennie went out of her way to help me order a dress through an Italian line that is not in the states yet! I felt very safe and comfortable during my in store visit - we were the only people in the store for my private appointment. Jennie was honest about what styles would be flattering on me, and gave several suggestions for modifications by demonstrating what could be done for tailoring the dress to my liking. In the end, I felt she gave the most genuine suggestions based on my preferences. I recommend her store over any other I went to. She gave me specific guidance about ordering my dress, for timeline, lengths of layers, various color options, and understanding all the different materials and weights of fabric (after all, I'm particular :) ). I truly felt she treated me like her own family without an ounce of pressure to buy hastily. She just wanted me to be happy with my dress on my special day. Absolutely loved my experienced at MiAmor! Naomi helped me find the style of dress that fit my body vest and also showed me amazing customer service. She was welcoming, funny, and so helpful. I made my appointment online and went in the next evening - she pulled about six dresses to try on and I ended up in love with two! I didn't buy a dress here but it's very likely, we are currently waiting on an estimate as to hw much it would cost to customize one of the dresses (kind of combine the two I fell in love with).
