I absolutely love their cakes! I ordered my civil ceremony cake from Padoca and it was perfect from start to finish. What really stood out was how many ways I could personalize it--flavor, cake shape, size, color, and decorations. It truly felt custom without being overwhelming. The price was also just right, especially for the quality. Ordering was super simple: everything was done online, delivery was scheduled easily, and the whole experience was completely stress-free. Reliable, seamless, and delicious. I chose the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, and it was a huge hit. I've also tried the brigadeiro flavor before, which is equally amazing. Everyone loved the cake so much that at least three friends have already ordered from Padoca as well. It's officially my go-to for special occasions, and I can't wait to try more of their products. It was a bit cold, but otherwise a solid product. For the size and overall quality, this did feel overpriced, but I guess this is what you get from a boutique bakery cafe in the UES. It's mostly a grab & go place. No restroom. Unsure if they have WiFi. The guava PDQ was decent. Do not order the strawberry matcha. It was watery and overly sweet. A layer of liquidity strawberry syrup sat at the bottom of the cup. Overly milky and not much matcha flavor. Stick to a black coffee if you want a hot beverage. read more

Last week we ordered a six-inch Orange Olive Oil Pink Sprinkle Cake with vanilla mascarpone filling and vanilla buttercream icing--and it looked great but was the worst-tasting cake I or my partner, whose birthday it was, had ever eaten. We have had traditional Greek olive oil cake from an esteemed Greek restaurant in Manhattan, which was dry and flakey, and we were expecting something like that. But this cake was the heaviest and densest cake ever. I picked it up at 3:30, and we ate it at 9pm, so it had plenty of time to come to room temperature. It basically was almost dripping olive oil, and that is what you tasted: olive oil, no orange. The buttercream was basically butter--also very, very dense and heavy. Oddly, this place refers to their cakes as being "light"; that is not even remotely our experience. Unfortunately, our digestions were also thrown for a loop, or a lead weight, so to speak, so the negative effects went beyond just taste and texture for several days. Judging by the other reviews, I just have to assume that there is a subset of people in New York who love very heavy, dense, and oily cake. I am not in that club. read more

Ordering online was easy and if you had any questions you can contact them through email. The cake came out better than expected and included a little mobile golf cart which was soooo cute. The cake looked great and tasted even better! I had ordered a small pink sprinkle celebration sheet cake with vanilla cake and silky Biscoff cookie butter filling/vanilla buttercream. The cake was moist and flavorful, with the cookie butter filling tasting mostly like caramel. Definitely not a location to get work done. There is an outlet but there is no wifi. I ordered an iced latte that was half decaf and was given a hot latte accidentally. Politely explained mixup to the barista and she did not seem very happy about the change even though I clearly remember specifying ice. Thought the food selection would've been larger than it was. Got a chocolate chip scone which was quite large, but have had better scones. Tasted a bit too floury. A bit disappointed overall, mostly because of the false advertising in terms of workspace potential. read more

The coffee was clearly burnt, but the latte had a spoiled flavor to it. (almost like a rotten orange peel flavor) I genuinely think the milk was spoiled because after the first sip, both me and my friend were gagging and on the verge of being sick. I got the PDQ egg and cheese sandwich, it's a little over $8 but I thought it was filling and it tasted good. The Brazilian bread is cheesy and spongy, definitely unique in its taste and texture. I spoke to a lady in line and she was telling me that people are addicted to this stuff (cheesy bread) but I didn't find it that amazing to the point where I'd come back frequently. PDQ with Guava: the guava went well with the savory cheese bread although I wish I could somehow warm up the bread Bundt cake: flour/sugar forward in taste, a bit like a grocery store level. New location for this bakery. It used to be on 1st Ave and was closed down during the pandemic. The new place is a very cute cafe style with outdoor seating. It's close to the bus stop on 67th St. I got the vegan apple cider donut. It's actually pretty good for vegan (speaking as someone who isn't vegan). A little bit oily though and I usually like it more firm. This is more cake-y. Good with tea. I'll have to try the other baked goods and sandwiches. Extra star goes to the cafe ambiance. Looks like a great place to enjoy coffee and pastries if you can get an outdoor seating. It's about 2 small tables outside, so it fills up quickly in the morning. Their pastry and baked goods are excellent. But unless you live close to one of their shops in New York City, it's a hassle to enjoy them, especially if you live in New Jersey. And the delivery charge within New York City can be almost as much as the cost of the item. It appears they do not deliver outside of New York City. I absolutely love this place. They have the best coffee on the UES. The PDQs are amazing. I get them fresh and also their frozen cook-at-home bags...my kids love them so they are a real life saver when out of breakfast ideas! I would also recommend the chocolate chip banana bread muffins and loaves. I am not gluten free - I eat these because they are delicious! I had been eating them for years before I even noticed the "GF" label on the bag. Now I get them for all my friends who ARE gluten free. My coworker is in LOVE with this cake and only in vanilla. I think it's the mascarpone. I love the shape and the way the colorful sprinkles and decorated. It's very expensive for a small cake but we have a loyal customer. You can add on candles and utensils to help bring this along to any picnic. Great upscale treat! A friend brought me here specifically for the pao de queijo sandwiches and Padoca did not disappoint! We both got the ham and cheese PDQ which was really good and filling, even after a 20 minute walk in the rain to bring them home. We also split an apricot cranberry scone which was giant and had great texture without being too dry. Inside the shop, there are only two small tables for 2 to sit at and it can get pretty crowded easily. The ambiance is very bright and cheery though which makes the waiting a pleasant experience. I'd long seen the " I'm Hot " cups in the workplace, and always wanted to know where these cute and clever coffee cups emerged from. I finally got my answer when our department ordered afternoon treats from Padoca for a presentation. I pretty much fell in love with the red velvet brownies and the berry squares and knew I had to make it here. Fast forward many months and an entire pandemic later, I finally found myself at Padoca during their new and shortened operating hours. Although, sadly on my two visits they didn't have the longed for red velvet brownies or berry squares. I tried the coconut Bundt cake instead and the mushroom empadinha. The empadinhas are little pockets of amazing. The mushroom is seasoned so well and each bite brings a burst of flavor. The coconut cake was good, dense and milky but I miss the red velvet brownies. Wherever they are, in quarantine or staying in place, I hope they make an appearance soon. read more
