I can agree with all of the comments about Mia. She is very sweet and accommodating, with an understanding of customer service. I hesitated to even write this honest review, because I really do want Mia's business to grow and succeed. There's a lot of potential here! The quality of work is good, but it just took WAY TOO LONG for me - almost 4 HOURS to be exact! I've been getting my lashes done in New York for over a year now, at over 5 different places, and it NEVER takes more than 2 hours (usually just 1 hour). The end-result is exactly the same, if not a little better in New York. In my opinion, there is NO eyelash extension work in this world that should ever cost you 4 hours. No amount of pillows and soothing music can make 4 hours lying on a table while someone picks at your eyelashes a pleasant experience. It's just too long, any way you slice it. I could have had minor heart surgery in that time. On the flip side, I still haven't found a good lash place in the Bay Area (is this the norm here?!). My point of reference in this review is based on New York salons. So if you're okay with 3.5 hours for a quality mink lashes application--perhaps for a special occasion such as a wedding, bachelorette--I do recommend you go to Mia! read more

I have been to other salons to get eyelash extensions and they claimed to use mink lashes, but didn't. :( Mia DOES! Not only does she use the highest quality materials, she is gentle and super skilled! She made my lashes look lush, long and beautiful in about 2 hours! If you haven't gotten eyelash extensions before, basically you just lay down with your eyes closed and Mia does all the work. Then, you open your eyes and look fabulous. The extensions last for about 3 weeks before you need a fill. Minkys (and Mia!) is the best, and definitely the only place I trust to do my extensions! read more

I went and got mink lashes put on the day before my wedding, and I was VERY HAPPY with the outcome. They are long, full and look very natural. I couldn't be happier! (because honestly, I LOOK FABULOUS!!!) Mink lashes add a little more femininity and pizzazz to your look, and now I'm hooked! Mia takes her time and does an exceptional job! I happen to be swiping and came across Mia's Minks reviews. Here is my review: I saw Mia a handful of times approx 2-3 years ago. My first appt was ok- I remember the lashes were not as full as I wanted however she explained that if I keep coming they will grow out and eventually get the desired look. I dont remember the exact cost but the process was not cheap. On my 4th visit or so(cant remember exaclty) Mia- I recall that is her name had an odd flip of her personality and told me that she would no longer accept my business. This was the strangest experience. I figured maybe she was having a bad day. I was later called by someone from her salon -i recall the person said she was Mia's mother who offerred to do my lashes instead.???? Huh? I've been contemplating to get eyelash extensions for a while now and I decided that that day has finally come. I was stumbling upon Groupon and found an amazing deal at Mia's Minks so why not check it out! I didn't have an appointment but I ended up walking in on Saturday and getting my lashes done within 15-20min of waiting. Judy was very welcoming and showed me the classics that I would be getting and I was all down for it. I am very pleased with the results but decided I wanted to get my refill and have those lashes be poppin'. Judy did an amazing job with my lashes and since I was sick during the time, she helped me out by accommodating whatever was necessary for me to be as comfortable as possible! $300 wasted :( I really hate to write a 1 star review for Mia'a Minks because Mia (the owner) is SO sweet and nice (She gets 5 star for that) and her place is really cute. I have a special event to go to and I thought it would be good to get lashes done, I am used to getting lashes done for no more than no more than $60, and I wanted to try what it was like to get $300 work. I didn't mind spending that much because they last quite a while. She was nice to offer $50 off because it was my first time getting Russian volume lashes. She took 2 hours and the final result looked pretty and natural looking, but they didn't look like they were worth $300 at all, they looked just as good as the usual $60 place in Vancouver. I decided to accept it and the very next day, lashes were already falling out. Lashes need to be dormant for 48-72 hours and I kept that promise (I did not even take a shower the first day) . The next day, more came off. By the FOURTH day, they were all dangling from my own lashes. :( I went to another place because of their unavailability. The esthetician said "She did a good job, but your own lashes grew out so they are all loose and dangling. I'll have to remove all of them and do a full set" I was too embarrassed to say they were only 4 days old. Usually they should last few weeks, but this time lasted 4 days. Silly me, despite all this I tipped. Disappointed about the money down the drain..... :( 1/18/2016: Mia reached out to me after I posted the review by calling me to say she can offer a refund/redo, then I said OK, and thanked her for letting me know. After a few months, she messaged me on Yelp saying she has offered a refund/redo but I didn't respond. I decided that I want a refund and thought that was a responsible gesture of her faulty work. However, when I communicated with Mia, she said she can only refund me $180 at the most (I paid $300) because she can't refund me back supplies cost. I said OK. Mia said she will have her accountant give me the refund by Jan. 15...and It is now Jan 18. Doing a transfer takes SECONDS to do. She was the one who insisted on giving me a refund yet she couldn't keep her words. Still waiting for the refund. 1/19/2016 : As expected she cant send me my refund :( She says she can give me a refund in person (she knows I'm out of the country and she's HOPING I won't go get my money back!) she refuses to mail me a certified check or bank to bank transfer. Sadly I must post this review: I had been a customer for over 2 years with nothing but great comments. I just recently got my lashes done as usual and before a week almost 50% of my lashes were out! I texted Mia for a refill and we set the appointment. I then told her how my daughter noticed the lashes in the sink and that they were falling out. She then offended me several times by referencing her 12 years of experience, how one of her cancer patients went to the doctor because something was wrong with her eyes (saying something was wrong with mine), asking if I'm okay wearing lashes, then saying I need to see a doctor! REALLY!!! I've been wearing lashes since 2007 so I think I'm okay wearing lashes! I'm a medical professional so I think I would know if I have a eye infection! I'm sensitive to tape so once a vessel burst in my eye when she pulled the tape off! Tape sticks so when you pull it roughly on a sensitive part of a eyelid it hurts! This was blamed on me as well! I have had the most respect for Mia and her work but this is just too much damage to go back to her. All I wanted was a refill after paying $166. Not a free fill but just to get a fill and this is how I was treated! I guess since she proceeded to tell me how she applies lashes the same way every time then this makes her perfect and that it's the consumer's fault. Then she said I must go 3 days not the normal 24 hours with allowing the lashes to be dormant! This meant "sweating, no makeup, creams etc!" Then the "extreme heat" was maybe the cause! I got married in Louisiana in extreme heat and went to Jamaica all with her lashes on and NO problem! So now all of a sudden extreme heat is a problem! I'm sorry that the consumer is not perfect but no one is and that means the person who applies lashes! I had to post this because I have several pictures that Mia gladly posts on her various pages to showcase her lashes! I have referred several people to her! We had a great relationship until this. We talked and she apologized and offered a free fill but how can you trust someone when they have to do your lashes and you must relax! I don't feel as if I would be comfortable as in the past and sleep while she did my lashes! Now I have to find a new place for lashes! read more

I've gotten eye extensions from quite a few places, and seriously... nothing matches up to Mia's service. I used to get my lashes done somewhere else, and that person took 1 hour and it looked so sloppy. She literally glued fake lashes onto my eyelashes randomly so some fake lashes would be stuck onto a clump of my natural lashes. What's worse, I developed an eye stye!!! This would NOT happen at Mia's Minky I assure you. She's so meticulous! Literally, she spends 3 hours putting individual mink lashes onto my own lashes, one by one. She also makes sure that all the lashes are seperated so that fake lashes won't get stuck to multiple natural lashes at the same time (HATE IT when that happens... painful and uncomfortable too). The mink hair she uses is extremely lightweight (like feather) so I cant even feel them...! If you like super luscious lashes and lasts for 2-4 weeks, I recommend Mia 100% :) read more

This was my second time trying eyelash extensions. I find it so much easier to maintain and now worry about mascara. This was also by far a much more pleasant experience! Yes, it does take about 3 hours but it's totally worth it. I love my lashes and Mia is lovely and extremely nice. I have been going to Mia for over a year now and am IN LOVE with her work. The lashes always last for ~4 weeks before needing a refill. I usually ask for the full and fanned Kylie Jenner/Kim Kardashian style lashes and she delivers every time. I am always getting compliments on my lashes. The lashes add such a natural beauty to the face to the point I usually don't wear make-up anymore. Not to mention, they are great before going on a beach vacation and giving that extra sparkle on the beach. Background before I write my review: I've been a solid customer of Mia's - I believe for almost a year? Came back for refills every 5 weeks or so, sometimes earlier than that because the lashes did tend to fall out quickly but I never blamed Mia for it because I wanted to keep coming back. There was a month in between that period where I tried out a new place because like a lot of people say, they take WAY TOO LONG (up to 3 hours/session) -not to mention in my opinion, they overcharge for this service. But alas, I returned because I liked the quality of the synthetic lashes they used more than the other place I tried. Plus Mia's Minks is only 5 minutes driving distance from my home, and the other place was a 40 minute+ drive when I'm lucky, over 1 hour drive when there's traffic, and God the Bay Area has a lot of traffic. I tried out Judy per Mia's recommendation for the first time on June 3, 2015 because of her availability. Although I was nervous I felt OK with trying out Judy since Mia was going to be there. They charged me for lash removal (their reasoning was because they need to use their own glue for best results - fine.) and consequently a full set for $99 (Judy's rates are cheaper than Mia's). My lash removal experience with Judy was a horrendous one that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. Judy told me to keep my eyes closed while she put the lash removing solution but the chemical solution seeped its way into my eyes. In that instant it literally felt like my eyeballs were melting and I was wearing contacts - I ended up having to change my new contacts out for another pair of new ones and my eyes were sore for a good 24 hours after the incident. The worst part is she never once apologized and actually blamed it on me. Anyway, this is not why I am posting this review. The reason why I am posting this review, and why I would give them 0 stars if I could, is because of their shady business practice and unwillingness to make things right for the customer. I went back in for a refill just after 15 days and when I saw my credit card statement 2 days later, noticed that the service was charged incorrectly on my credit card statement (service was $60 and my credit card charge reflected $129.79). After trying to work this out with Mia and Judy, initially they said there wasn't a way to give partial refunds back on Square. So, I google'd it, found out HOW in literally 3 seconds and explicitly wrote the 4 very simple steps on how to do partial refunds on Square and make this make it right for the customer (me). Then Mia replied later saying they won't do such a thing after speaking with her Attorney... WAIT, you had to speak to your ATTORNEY...WHAT? Well that escalated quickly! Apparently the total amount was somehow accidentally placed into the TIP and that's why my charge was double the amount I meant to pay. Mia and Judy refused to make this right and ended the text with, "It's just business." Really sad about this because they seemed like decent people on the outside but now I see their true colors. And it's UGLY... Seriously debating whether or not I want to post the pictures of our text conversations to show just how ugly it gets. ---EDIT--- Mia texted me threatening to take down this review. If anyone would like to see the texts please message me and I will be happy to share them. Thank you. --EDIT 2-- In response to Mia: My service was done at 3249 Stevens Creek Blvd, Ste 215. Per your business page... this is Mia Mink's address. Correct? Correct. And you're the Boss. You recommended me to use your mom, Judy, because she was available. I see that there are some good reviews here about Judy and I don't see you objecting to any of those reviews being posted on here. Great. And you did threaten to take down my review and move it to another business page. Your words were "there's nothing you can do." I have texts to prove this. Mia applied synthetic eyelashes for me on Thursday. Within the first 48 hours, I have had many of the lashes fall out. I have followed her after care instructions completely. I have had synthetic eyelashes applied multiple times in the past at other places and they have never fallen out within the first 48 hours. I was concerned so I called Mia and left a message informing her of what's happening and asked if there was anything we could do. I received a call back from Mia in which she blamed me, my skin pH, and my care of my lashes for them falling out. She then offered to do a re-fill for the price of $4/day.... That's her standard price. So I was offered no refund, discount, apology, or concession of any kind for her faulty workmanship. Not only that, but she repeatedly blamed me for them falling out. Not only was her work poor, but her customer service was terrible as well. I'm frustrated that I paid over $200 for this. I also wasted 3 hours of my time. Yes, it took 3 full hours for her to apply the lashes. Every time I've had this done in the past by other people, it has taken no more than 1.5 hours. The time I spent would not bother me too much if I had received quality work. Sadly, that is not the case. I wasted over $200 (which is overpriced) and 3 hours of my time for lashes that fell out in the first 2 days. I will be reporting her to the Better Business Bureau for her shoddy work and terrible customer service. I do not appreciate being blamed for someone else's mistakes. Edit: In response to Mia's comment.... I did not arrive late, I actually arrived 5 minutes early. You also did not attempt to ask me what products I used and I told you I followed the aftercare instructions explicitly. I think your response is rude and frankly full of false accusations. Edit 2: Mia has now changed her comment to include more lies. I was not wearing any eye makeup or mascara when I came to the appointment. I do not wear eye makeup or mascara. Mia is a very sweet and kind young lady. I went to her about 6 months ago and she did a decent job, however it took 4 hours to be done. I got there at 6pm and didn't leave until 10pm. Granted, she does take her time but the time span simply did not work for me. After wearing strips and other individually lashes I made the decision to do extensions after my first consultation with Mia. My lashes are growing longer and stronger than ever.
