Parmesan crusted Sol on a bit of rice
    Jerry P.

Found this place from my fellow yelpers. It was a beautiful day and wanted to eat dinner close to the water. I have to say parking was terrible. I am disabled and had a hard time fighting somewhere to park. Once we got in, we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We were sat almost immediately, which was fantastic. The place was pretty full. I ordered Arnold Palmer to drink. It may not seem that big a deal but these were the most delicious I've ever had. For me the lemonade usually has a taste of a dirty mop bucket. But this was so clean and fresh. We started with an order of calamari. Very delicious. It was not chewy or Oil soaked. Very clean very tasty. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was good. For dinner I had the shrimp and grits. It came with a sausage, pasty type stuff, but I had it delivered on the side. This was my best decision of the night. I wasn't crazy about the flavor. But the shrimp and grits were fantastic. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the grits were very flavorful. My wife had the Parmesan crusted Sole. It was so good. The outsides were crispy with the cheese, but the insides were moist and flaky. Absolutely delicious. It also came on a bed of rice. It was perfect. The only drawback to my evening was the fact the bus boys kept trying to take our food off the table before we were done eating. I had to stop one guy from taking a plate. They was still half full of food. The place is very loud if you're looking for a quiet evenings, probably is not a good choice. Very hard edge noisy. If you're in the area, this is probably an OK choice. The food service were good.

I started with the Superfood House Salad which was described by the server as being a Kale Salad with other ingredients. Which somewhat matches the menu description. From the description and the menu, I was expecting a Kale salad with other ingredients mixed in. What I received was more akin to a protein salad with a smattering of kale mixed in. Very disappointed in the salad. Wife had the prawn Mac with lobster. Portion was sizable, lobster was salty. Prawns were nicely done. Seared Ahi Tuna entree was good. No complaints from the other diners-Trout was good, Steaks were good. Salmon was good. Moderately noisy but comfortable.

We were craving seafood and Wildfin was nearby our hotel, so we gave it a try. It's located along the never Vancouver (WA) waterfront west of the interstate 5 bridge. Before entering and without knowing anything about Wildfin, I was expecting the Chart House or even McCormick & Schmick. However it's more similar to a high-end Bonefish Grille or stepped down Chart House. More margarita and house wine vs martini and select wines. Has a national chain feel. The menu has many seafood options but most are combinations with pasta, cream sauce, salad, sandwich or fried. The more naked fish selection is limited to salmon, steelhead and trout. Outside of this is a large selection of standard menu items like burgers, appetizers, and obligatory sampling of sushi options. Salads are limited and oddly placed throughout the menu. We ordered the miso black cod, harvest salad, a cup of seafood chowder, tacos and wine. The miso black cod was average for $38. I cook a lot of fish at home that's moist and flaky in the middle and charred outside. I believe this was steamed, overdone and a less generous size. The tacos were tasty with beef, grilled fish and pork belly (although they were out of pork). And the harvest salad was refreshing and fairly light. The wine list was limited and by the glass selections were somewhat standard. Our server (the bartender) knew nothing about the wine but allowed us to taste options. We asked for 9 oz and received what looked like at least 12 oz. In fact we couldn't drink it all. Overall the meal wasn't memorable and if we did return it would be for a drink, bar bites and maybe a burger.

The food, view, atmosphere and service are really spot on. Everytime! I love that they have seasonal special flairs! The setting is right on the Columbia River! I've NEVER been disappointed by any meal I've ever had at Wild Fin/Waterfront. I Just wish they weren't so pricey.

Popped in for a Monday lunch and was seated quickly, not busy at all. Wanted to sit outside as there were already people outside but they said they couldn't put anymore outside as they didnt have a server and it was the bartender serving them. Kind of a bummer as it was a really nice day. As for the food we got an appetizer of the brie plate. The cheese, bread and other pairings were really yummy! Highly recommend! For my main dish I got the lunch special of a half smoked turkey sandwich and seafood chowder. Both were really yummy. The server was friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience, just a bummer about not being able to be seated outside when others were.

It was our first time eating here & it was lovely. The staff were all very kind and attentive. They sat us by the window for the best view for our anniversary. We ordered the two dishes that were featured as their special along with cocktails and their potato bread that were not pictured, my bad. Everything was exceptional.

Atmosphere: Nice, upscale yet not stuffy atmosphere with some outdoor waterfront dining options as well. Food: We loved the food. Parmesan Crusted Sole was probably my favorite. Price: It's upscale, but reasonable for the portion size. Service: Service is hit and miss. Some servers were great, others not so great. Parking: Street parking

The menu was extensive, offering mini fish choices, but also plenty of beef for those who might not care for seafood. The happy hour menu has some great deals, but please know this menu is only offered in the bar. If you get there early enough (4:30-5:30) they offer an Early Dinner menu in the dining room that is a great value (includes a starter, an entree and dessert from a limited menu, all for $35.) I had the sockeye salmon which came with broccolini, fingerling potatoes, and a few other vegetables and was delicious. My companion ordered the Dover sole, which was a very large portion and came with risotto. She enjoyed her meal as well. I had the shrimp appetizer and my companion ordered the bread which came with two different butters, a savory, and a sweet. Both were really good choices. We both were quite full, so we ordered the donuts as our dessert as we thought those could most easily be warmed and enjoyed later. They were delightful. Our server, David, knew the menu very well, including the wine offerings, and was helpful in our selection process. He was friendly and efficient. This restaurant is very modern and clean as well as comfortable. It sits right on the Columbia River so the views are amazing.

Food was so delicious! We got the appetizer tower on happy hour, which was a great deal and amazing way to try several appetizers. Portions were a filling size and we left happy and satisfied. The service was super nice and attentive. Restaurant is open air and the bar area is inside and outside.

Food was great! Hubby's steak was the best part. The sauce that came on it was trully phenomenal! Sushi and Prickly Pear cocktail were also very good! My sandwich was pretty dry (mostly the bread) and lacked a lot of flavor, so thankfully I had a salty au jus dip. Not sure if it's always like that or if mine happened to be a one off, but everything else was super great! Service was also very good! She checked in on us regularly. I appreciate that this place can support large groups or small tables with the dividers they had between tables. I will definetly come back when I find myself in the area.

Cute restaurant along the river. I didn't have a problem with our waiter .. they were busy and they didn't bring our food to us all at one time. I had a huge portion and it was delicious!

Great ambiance, as well as great food, alongside of the Columbian River. Started with some kind of fondue and ordered their seasonal salmon.

The area has developed quickly and having grown up nearby and moved away years ago, it's amazing to see what's happened along here. Prices - well, everyone has their hand out along here. We were in town somewhat last minute staying at Hotel Indigo. The hotel provides $10 drink coupons so we decided to drop in for an impromptu drink while planning our dinner strategy. It was already 7p so no view but live music and a nice buzzy ambiance. Wait staff were fast and friendly, and before we knew it two delicious cocktails were in front of us. At the same time, I overheard the waitress at the table beside us saying that food could be ordered from El Gaucho downstairs. So we asked for a menu and started perusing. If you don't know El Gaucho it's a classic steak restaurant with lots of cuts and sizes, a sprinkling of seafood, the usual salads, and tableside this and that. A notch above Ruth's Chris, Morton's or The Capital Grille but with Peter Luger Manhattan prices. Yes, that's right, Manhattan prices in Vancouver. WA. The Couv is all grown up. Or at least trying to be, Like Witness Tree, El Gaucho has a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size. Theoretically this shouldn't be an issue if you know restaurant culture and tip appropriately but I think a mandatory fee rubs many wrong to assume service will always be at that level. And on top of very high prices. A $72 6oz filet is $86, so those 8 bites better be damn good. That said, we ordered oysters, a filet, seafood pasta, and wine. The wine list was decent but not as extensive for a premium steak restaurant. Wines had the typical markup which meant $20-35+ per glass. Both the pasta and steak were good but - and this may sound picky - at $72 for 6 ounces of steak (a bar of soap) I expect perfection which means medium rare throughout. The steak was medium in some parts. If I can achieve medium rare throughout at home it should be possible here. So here's the math (rounded) for those interested. Total bill: $295. $225 food and drinks, $45 service fee (mandatory 20%), and $24 tax (8.8%). Interestingly, the 20% service charge is taxed which means we actually paid $49 or 28.8%. Had I been given the choice of my own 20% tip it would be applied to food and drink and a slightly lower bill. Not a huge deal but these are the little details - call it "nickel and diming" patrons - that rub many wrong. One note - another server came to our table before our food arrived and placed a steak in front of me. Before he could place the other dish I told him it wasn't our order. He picked up the steak and delivered to another table. In most restaurants - and certainly in a premium setting - that dish should have been remade. Whether perception or simple hygiene you simply can't do that. All in all, the Witness Tree was a nice spot, with tasty cocktails and ambiance. Prices and service fee will be off putting for some, and not sure this would be my go-to as there are many rooftop / view options nearby.
