Here's where it gets spicy! Sean comes in the room to go over my out off pocket cost. He rushes thru the treatment plan and quickly says your total cost is 979.00. When I asked him to break it down, he proceeded to go over it in a rush, as if he couldn't wait to get out of there. I didn't feel comfortable at all. I asked for further details on the following treatments that were on the plan: Code 9612 - Therapeutic Med Sean said this was medicine for the root canal used to rinse out the root canal. Code 7465 Destruction of Lesion(s) Sean said this was a laser treatment, and when I asked what it was for he said it's to make for a precise job! When I told him the out of pocket cost was too steep and that the charges didn't seem to align with my copays, he asked, well what's your budget, I will go back and talk to the Dr and to the office manager. He comes back and says, we can remove these treatments, and it will be 566.00! I said, these treatments seem pretty important and I don't want to skimp on my care, but that I would like to call my insurance (Delta Care) to go over the treatment and coverage and come back. The whole experience just felt off, so I called after I left and Marissa answered, I asked to speak to the office manager ONLY to be told that she's on maternity leave!! If that was the case then who did Sean go to the back to talk to!! I told Marissa that I had just left and I explained what took place with Sean. Marissa said that they have a stand in office manager but that they weren't available. I did not get the name of the stand in office manager because by this time I was livid. I asked Marissa to go over the treatment plan with me, and initially she said the therapeutic med was an injection in the tooth to flush out any bacteria. And the Destruction of lesion is an anti microbial rinse to help disinfect tooth to prevent infection from coming back; an enhanced cleaning process. (NOT a laser as previously advised) I asked again to go over the therapeutic med, and she put me on hold and came back with an apology, stating it's not an injection but rather a topical that the put on the tooth during the root canal (not sure what that is for, I was done at this point) She said I had the option to forfeit those treatments, and that they were preventative treatments! I said if the dr recommended these treatments how is it so simple to just remove them? And I was told, this is to help YOU with the cost. I did rescheduled my appointment with out those treatments. However I DID NOT return for treatment . I was able to find another Endodontist and went that route. They were straight forward and their treatment plan did not have these additional treatments. My out of pocket out the door was 455.00, much better than 979.00!

However, no issues whatsoever arose during this procedure. Furthermore--perhaps because the dosage was just right--the anesthesia wore off at an appropriate pace. Of course, his treatments and explanations are very thorough. All assistants, receptionsits and accountants are very nice and friendly. I need to have treatment 2 more root canals from him and no fear. I feel very comfortable. If someone is looking for the good endodontist, I storngly reccomend him.

I brush and floss daily, and I go for regular dental check ups and cleanings, so I'm not used to having dental issues. One day, though, out of the blue, I woke up to strong pain in my mouth. I went to see my regular dentist, who looked at the xray and told me I needed a root canal from a specialist. I knew Dr. Ramin Noghreian through my wife, who was a member with Dr. Ramin in the same business organization. I didn't know much about him professionally, however, so I travelled to Torrance on faith. And I'm glad I did! I was really impressed when they put me in an dental CT scan machine that just scanned my mouth. I didn't know such a machine existed! It's a good thing they have it too, because my tooth had not one nerve root, not two, but THREE nerve roots that Dr. Ramin had to artfully excise and then fill. Dr. Ramin made sure the experience was pain-free for me, and it went quite smoothly. The temporary filling Dr. Ramin put in place was so good that, when I went back to my regular dentist to get a crown put one, it took her almost 15 minutes to get it off! This is a state-of-the art practice that's also a family practice. Dr. Ramin's sister, Nooshin, is also an endodontist there, and his wife, Naze, is the office manager. You feel very welcomed when you go there. One never knows what the endodontist will find when he or she goes in to your tooth to do a root canal. (In my case, it was a 3-nerve "mess"!) So you want the best surgeon with the best equipment. I can tell you from personal experience, that's what you'll get at South Bay Endodontics!

I've always felt pain 3/4 of the way during a crown because the anesthetic starts to wear off. I told Dr. about this issue and he actually listened and did something about it. I was completely numb the entire time. His whole staff is amazing too. His receptionist, techs and of course Dr. Phan are all epically phenomenal!
