My family and I have been going to Dr. Angulatos for as long as I can remember. I used to hate the dentist, but ever since I've been going to him I don't feel the need to be scared before an appointment. He's super honest, and will tell you how it is. I went to see Dr. Angulatos for the first time a few days ago for a check-up and teeth cleaning. There was no wait and I love how he sincerely puts all his attention on you. He did all the cleaning, not a hygienist and gave me proper instructions and advice on teeth maintenance. The entire process from filling out paper work to the cleaning was less than an hour. I really like this dentist. He is quick and to the point and doesn't leave you waiting. His office consists of himself and his lovely receptionist. She is really sweet. He cleans, and takes x-rays right there in the same room, and he has a dry sense of humor. He is honest, he did one filing for me about 6 years ago and I haven't had a problem with it. They changed their insurance policy a few years ago, and they don't accept HMO anymore, only PPO. Recently moved to San Pedro and broke a new crown. Called for an appointment, surprised it was not urgent. After X-ray sent to RootVision to see if root canal was needed. Per Endo, since no pain root canal was not needed. Called Angulatos back, to get appointment, but he said Endo recommended it! What! Called Endo back, and they changed tune. So I agreed to root canal. At visit Endo told me Angulatos would not do crown without it. I did it anyway. Called Angulatos to do crown, but no appointment until he got results! His first appointment over 2 weeks later, but temp inside tooth after root canal lasts only 2 weeks. At that point I'm done with the one man quack organization and called another dentist who gave me an appointment without the report. Now I'm with Dunlap Denistry and a great staff with my temporary crown waiting for the new one. read more

I was seeking a licensed dentist that could make a new set of Dentures. I found a man who was incompetent. This dentist is a front desk for anyone wishing Implants. Those who wrote good reviews are those with no respect for why a person goes into dentistry, and His words on the internet ADS are mere FRAUD. He charges excessive fees for a look at your mouth, just to tell you he is a FRAUD and cannot make dentures. Be very careful folks, when a person advertises as Dentist, but cannot perform requested work needed and passes you off to find others. It's seems these days a lot of dentists just want to do whatever costs the most whether you really need it or not. My first trip to a dentist in la was a complete nightmare until I found this place. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Angulatos for almost 20 years...pretty much as soon as we were out of college and had insurance of our own! Throughout the years he has been steadily great...always reliable, honest and straightforward. If you have a cavity or need a root canal, you can be sure you really need it. Dr. Angulatos does not try to upsell you with services you don't need just to make a few bucks. He is all about the exam, cleaning and X-rays as needed. I have been to other dentists that are always trying to sell the latest and greatest aesthetic dentistry and if that's what you're looking for that's great. Personally, I'm looking for a solid and honest dentist that is concerned with my oral hygiene and health...and that's exactly what we get with Dr. Angulatos. Mary at the front desk is a treasure. She always greets me with genuine warmth and enthusiasm when I call for an appointment. She will call to remind me about the appointment and even remembers small personal details about me (i.e. kids and other little life details) even though we only see each other twice a year. I love dealing with her and cannot say enough about the efficient manner in which this office is run. When your appointment is 9:00, you are seen at 9:00. In all these years I have never waited beyond 2-3 minutes past my appointment time. Why can't other doctors and dentists get this down? It's wonderful. We have recommended Dr. Angulatos to many family and friends and all have been more than satisfied. If you are looking for a new dentist I would highly recommend giving Dr. Angulatos a try!! I have been a patient of Dr. Ed for about 20 years! I must say, that I have grown up FEARING trips to the dentist because of the numbing shots. The first time I ever saw Dr. Ed, it was for a badly broken molar and he took me immediately. I still have the crown! Dr. Ed is fastidious in his work and the cleanliness of the office. He uses the most up to date equipment and does not over sell! There is never a wait; appointments are not over booked. I also am impressed with his insistence for accurate medical information. I am a lung cancer survivor of 18+ months and I have some peculiar allergies. Dr. Ed documents any changes before any procedure. Mary, his mother is the receptionist and is delightful! read more

I never had the pleasure to meet Dr. Angulatos himself but I feel compelled to write a review based on my experience with his office staff. Mainly the woman who claims to be named Mary. Having recently moved to the area, I switched my dental office in July and could not make an appointment until August 1st (that's insurance for you). August 1st I called to make the earliest appointment available. My wisdom teeth have been bothering me and being a teacher, I needed to have this done before the end of the month. I also needed to schedule appointments for my kids but somehow "Mary" (or Mary..Mary!...MARY!!!, as she told me when I asked her name) said they dentist had to see me first before she could schedule appointments for my kids but she was certain they would be seen before school started. Her gruff and condescending attitude made me wary of making the appointment but I needed to get into an office ASAP. The appointment was set for August 7th. Today, August 16th, I get a very message from Mary saying that my appointment scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled because the doctor has an emergency. No "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" or "let me reschedule". Nothing. Just a barking of orders of what was happening. So I call back. And this is when Mary's true colors come out. First of all, when she answers, she sounds like a pissed off version of Fred Murtz. There is no kindness or welcome in her voice. I would think that the doctor would want his patients to feel good when they call his office. The office is the first impression someone gets about HIS business. She needs to be placed on check. Anyway, when I tell her I was calling because my appointment was cancelled, she immediately knew who I was! In my head, I'm thinking, If there was an "emergency" why would they only cancel MY appointment? So she says the earliest appointment was August 31st. I reminded her that I needed to see the doctor sooner because I go back to work in September AND my wisdom teeth were bothering me. She said that was the best she could do and I could take it or go somewhere else. Like that! I said I would have to because I needed to be seen. Then she says I can do I whatever I want says good bye and hangs up. I feel bad because Dr. Angulatos sounds like a good dentist and those are hard to find. Get rid of the dragon guarding the castle and I might make an appointment. read more

Dr. Ed is a great dentist. Very skilled, keeps tabs on your current medical history, says if you experience pain at any time to raise your hand and he will stop immediately. Where else can you get your teeth cleaned and polished by the dentist? Dr. Ed does the majority of the work himself but will refer you out to a specialist if needed. The bad part is at the end of the exam you only get a free toothbrush as I hope in the future to get something like a game ,toy ,bike, or even a new car would be nice. Rumor has it that the tooth fairy had work done on her teeth at this dental office. When I asked Mary if this was true, she laughed and shrugged her shoulders, but I did see a gold fairy feather on the outside step in front of this dental practice. Just kidding, maybe not....... From the very first appointment to the most recent he has been professional, knowledgeable, and forthright in his treatment of our dental health. Dr. Ed's dental work is beyond reproach. I used to dread getting my teeth cleaned, with the scraping, poking, and eventual bloody gums. Now I look forward to the painless process he uses. Came here to save money and stay within our dental network and regretted it. Nice fellow, but when I came in to re-do a front tooth crown, it fell out twice. It never really felt solid and I've lost confidence to go back for a third time. When I went to my old dentist, he bored out the area and showed me with many pictures how sub-par the work was done. I called Dr A back to ask if they could refund the portion of the work back to the insurance because I still have to pay to have it done, but he refused. In his defense, he did offer to fix it for free again, but after seeing what was done, I'd rather bite this bullet and pay much more to have it done right. read more

Trying to find a new dentist, I went to a dentist in San Pedro, and was surprised when she recommended a lot of dental work. I have never needed much dental work, and so was skeptical. On the recommendation of a friend who gave Dr. Angulatos an enthusiastic review, visited Dr. Angulatos for a second opinion. I appreciate his conservative kind of dentistry - he said I didn't need any of the work the other dentist recommended - and I felt confident in his skills and in his assessment of my teeth. His office uses up to date technology and I was able to see on the screen in his office something he referred to on one of my teeth. Very pleased with my visit to his office. I've been coming here for cleanings for several years. Never had a problem until my last office visit where I needed a filling. What a nightmare. I've never been scared or squeamish of the dentist until now. My gum and teeth were not numb at all when he Dr. Angulatos started to drill. Usually your cheek, tongue goes numb so you know something is working. Nothing was numb! He did not seem empathetic to my pain, said I was probably jumping at the vibration. No it was ice pick pain. I was not Numb. He was shaky, poked my lip while trying to go in and numb me again, sprayed numbing liquid down my throat but when attempting to drill third time, terrible pain I had to endure because he wasn't going to try and numb me anymore. Found out he was doing a different approach trying to numb just the tooth instead of the whole area. He claimed I had a nerve that just wouldn't be anesthetized. No he just hadnt done that job properly. I've never had to sit through dental work and feel everything that was being done to me It was horrifying and he seemed emotionless. Then on my way out he had the nerve to say to me keep brushing and flossing and we won't have to go through this again! My family and I are now leaving after many years here. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Ed for 25 years now...being like most, i dont look forward to this twice a year visit. But, Dr Ed has made it very easy. With his top notch technology and gentle hand the visit is simple. When my appt is at ten i am sitting in the chair at ten! Mary at the front desk always greets me with a smile and she is always friendly and patient if I have to reschedule my appointments. I have NEVER EVER had to wait in the waiting room as Dr Angulatos always brings you in right on time! He is always extremely professional, honest, and gentle with his treatments and never pushes unnecessary dental work. His office is small but up-to-date on technology; he was using a computer with dental software years before other offices who were still tracking things on paper. My husband and I have been coming to Dr Angulatos for a couple of years for regular cleanings and checkups. Mary the receptionist is always friendly and helpful There is never an issue with insurance problems, unlike at previous dental offices. Dr Angulatos is professional, friendly and thorough, but does not overtreat. He has state of the art ultrasonic cleaning equipment which makes cleanings fast and painless. When I lost an old crown days before leaving for a trip out of the country, he recemented the crown and gave me good instruction on how to handle it if it happened again. When my husband thought he was having pain in a molar, again days before leaving on an out of country trip, he correctly diagnosed it as a simple sinus infection.
